Well it is Saturday. The hot water heater went out AGAIN last night so no hot water. Your guy FIXED it Tuesday, then was told it would be replaced. That is next Tuesday. So none of you operate on the weekend so I am SOL for another 4 days again. Plus even though this is covered by warranty, I still have to pay $600 to YOUR vendor for the install, because they say I HAVE to add an expansion tank. So much for warranty. It helps line the pockets of your vendors. You need vendors that can actually DO a repair on a weekend. Your people in India that I called the complaint into last weekend the first time it broke are worthless --- no effort to get anything done timely - plus your vendor does not even return a phone call on a week end.

I didn't like the fact that Choice decided to replace my dishwasher and made me a cash offer of $179.00 for a $450.00 dishwasher. When I talked to my case manager, she increased the amount to $349.99, still not covering the replacement and installation. But it did amaze me that the first thing I was offered when I called was RENEWING!! Just didn't seem right.

Although Lucy was very nice, I’m not understanding why you’re not sending a plumber to check my faucet. Lucy told me to go and read section D #8 which I did and it doesn’t say you don’t fix a leak. It states you won’t replace the fixture. Fixtures is not what causes a leak. So today I have to say you got 3 out 10, ten being very satisfied

We found our first experience with Choice to be just what we'd hoped. But the second experience revealed a detail about their coverage that left us feeling we'd been taken advantage of. The fine print about "repair or replace" warranted items includes an escape clause where they only provide a cash payment at their discretion. In other words, they would not repair or replace our appliance, but rather gave us cash. We are left to pay twice the amount to replace our washing machine. Moral of the story is don't listen to their sales agents and read the fine print. It's in there, but their salespeople had us believe our warranted items would be repaired or replaces. Not true.

Choice is very responsive and their subcontractors are professional and knowledgeable. If I have a negative comment it would be concerning the exclusions in their coverages. Many repairs bleed over into their exclusions and you can find yourself having to call another repair company to complete the work. In addition some repairs uncover related additional work and the rather than repairing those items even if they would be covered under the Choice warranty you have to make a separate claim and reschedule the repairman with Choice.

I am a CHW customer. I have been a customer for years. I don't like the way you all valued my stove. I have ran into a few problems in my home and you guys were great. This time with my stove I was not satisfied, from $299 to $350. I priced some stoves I didn't find anything under $400. Mrs. O did her job but the policy I wasn't happy with. (Researching) I'm going to check the box to agree, only because I can't move on if I don't. The only thing I will agree to is doing this survey.

Bought their top home warranty package. My Florida home's HVAC system failed in the middle of a hot central Florida Summer on 2017. I called CHW they could not locate a local HVAC company willing to take my job. The next day CHW advised me I was authorized to locate my own local HVAC business to repair my system. I selected a reputable company that had serviced my 11-year-old system in the past. They recommended a complete replacement of my HVAC system. They submitted the claim to CHW on my behalf. CHW denied the claim despite appeals. They did not speak to the technician they authorized. They claimed, "my HVAC system failed not due to normal wear and tear and would not cover the replacement or even repair". I'd love to understand how an 11 year old HVAC system that received yearly routine maintenance did not fail due to "normal wear and tear". Especially one that wasn't inspected by them.

Frustrated with Choice Home warranty. I called into make a claim, and that fairly well. Not the response time I was expecting based on what I was told response time would be when buying the package. Called on Tuesday, scheduled repair was originally Saturday. Repair company called on a Friday and rescheduled appointment for Sunday. I called Choice Customer Service Desk when told plumping company said they only did plumbing, not the drywall that had been damaged. Choice said I would have to file 2nd claim for the drywall repair portion, and pay a second claim fee. Actual repair work of plumbing went well. Just disappointed claim not handled as one claim.

He was able to get my furnace started until he could come back with the part, but did tell me it my only last a little longer. He returned when he said and was quick and fixed my furnace.

My review of Choice Home Warranty First, understand that warranty companies only make money when the amount you pay for the agreement is less than what they have to pay. With some customers they lose, and with others they come out ahead. I understand how businesses operate; on average, they need to make money to stay in business. If you are signing up because your house is old and has a lot of problems, realize that many of the needed repairs will likely be excluded. Don't expect to get new appliances when one breaks down. Before you sign up and pay, read the agreement in detail. If you understand the problems in your home, you can make an informed decision. I can understand they can't cover everything, so if you do decide to get a policy, realize they only cover a specific subset of issues; There is a very high likelihood that the repairs you need covered will NOT be covered. My mistake was not reading the fine print closely enough. I knew there were some exclusions, but I had some claims denied due to exclusions that were debatable. Some exclusions are fairly clear, others not so clear. The first repair we had was a water heater that started leaking. It was actually an excluded item because it was due to corrosion, but they paid a portion anyway when I told them I simply wanted to cancel the policy. I thought that was nice. Other repairs were declined. Freon leaks for refrigerators are not covered, failure due to age or corrosion, plumbing leaks in the foundation/slab, Also realize what the refund policy is; I didn't read it closely enough. We purchased a five year plan for $1,750. We spent many, many hours on the phone trying to get CHW to cover some repairs, and finally in frustration we cancelled about two years into the agreement. We ended up getting nothing back. I figured we would get some money back, but the fine print says that the refund amount will be the pro rata amount, less any service charges. Had I known I would not have cancelled. It would have been nice if the person who "helped" us with the cancellation had let us know we would get nothing back. They only told us we would be refunded the pro rata amount, WITHOUT telling us they would subtract any amounts paid. For CHW, they get to keep the full amount paid with no further obligation. The only cost is another frustrated customer who might post a negative review. Overall I would have been better off financially if I never signed up; at best for us it was break-even. If I place a value on the frustration from dealing with the claims process and the MANY hours wasted trying to get them to cover charges, this was a colossal waste. Some of the people at CHW were polite and professional, but others we spoke with were just plain rude, and failed to respond to emails and phone calls. Some people might have better luck than me, but I do NOT recommend Choice Home Warranty. I do acknowledge my lack of attention to the details of the fine print contributed to this, but in the end, it was the unprofessional manner of some in the claims process that led us to make another irrational decision and cancel when I am SURE they knew we would get nothing back. They said NOTHING to us about getting nothing back in the cancellation, and in fact told us that we would be refunded the pro rata amount, omitting the reduction by past amounts paid and that we would get nothing. We had to call to be told this. There was no other communication with us that we were not entitled to a refund. My advice: If you are looking for a home warranty product, look elsewhere. However, realize there are likely to be similar limitations with other companies as well. But maybe they are more prompt and professional than we experienced with CHW. If you currently have a warranty with Choice Home Warranty, cancelling is probably not a good idea either because you won't get much back. Do the math: add up any amounts they have paid for you, and compare it to what you might get back. It probably only makes sense if you have never used it. Even though I guess it would have been better to not have cancelled, I can honestly say I am relieved I don't have to go through the hassle of trying to get repairs approved through them and deal with the few unprofessional people. Again, not everyone was unprofessional, but enough.

I have had a couple of requests and had to fight them, which is ridicules , to get them to cover things that they said they would cover in my booklet. I probably will not renew with them..... If I wanted to spend the time, I could find my own people.

This was my second go-round with the Choice Home Warranty program. The first one I was more than satisfied with a quick fast and efficient fix to my air conditioner during the summer. However I'm very unhappy with my experience with my microwave oven. The first guy that was sent out looked at it said there are no parts and took off with the $45. Choice then sent a second person out who took the microwave totally apart and said that grease had gotten up in the inside of the fan and had burnt out a component. He was very thorough and took it apart piece by piece . This microwave was only two years old and I was never informed that I needed to take it apart. I wouldn't have the first inkling on how to do that. My claim was denied because I hadn't cleaned the grease out of the fan. So at this point I am very unhappy with this service. The amount of money I have paid over the last two years I could have bought several microwaves. So they have denied my claim. I have talked family members in three different states into taking out this policy. I am now telling them to reconsider and go with someone else.

I have an old furnace that is dying, they denied all claims stating that they do not cover defective equipment, the furnace is 20+ years old, they said it had a cracked heat exchanger which would be defective, I could take it to arbitration but had to get proof from a qualified person at my own expense and could take up to 30 days. This is Dec in KY way to cold to wait that long and my wife is handicapped which they knew as well. When I asked Jonathan R about a buy out, that was denied by him as well. Steer clear of these people, if they do not get you for defective parts they will get you on maintenance. Go to Facebook and look up the blog on this company. I have since then cancelled my contract and will be going with a far more reputable company. I will also be making a complaint on the BBB sight as well.

This time I really had bad experience compared to normal. Technician was scheduled 4 days after the claim filing, which was very inconvenient to be left with broken oven during Thanksgiving. Then it took 3 days to inform me of the technician's recommendation to replace the oven. Then comes the worst part of offering me $500 cash (after negotiation) for an oven that costs above $1700 to replace. You claimed that what you are offering is based on the national average cost for you, yet you refused to provide the replacement unit instead of cash. This really violates your promise of replacing the item if it is more cost effective than repairing it. I have been with you for almost 3 years and have 13 policies. I have been mostly satisfied with your service, however, I am very disappointed this time and would probably rethink about renewal of the 13 policies.
