I CALLED CHW ON SAT. EARLY EVENING TO PLACE A CLAIM. THAT EVENING I RECEIVED AN E-MAIL THAT A TECHNICIAN WILL BE COMING MONDAY BETWEEN 11 AND 3. I CALLED MONDAY MORNING TO CONFIRM THE APPOINTMENT. THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD NEVER RECEIVED MY WORK ORDER FROM CHW AND COULD NOT SCHEDULE ME BEFORE WED OR THURS. BACK TO CHW WHO WAS ABLE TO ARRANGE AN APPOINTMENT ON TUES.

I am upset about the lack of response time from your customer service. I called because of my AC problem. I was on hold for 25 minutes, so I finally entered my cell number for a call back. It never came and I had to do something since our temperature outside were 95+, with a heat index of 105. I called a reputable company who came out immediately to try and solve my lack of cool air in our upstairs bedrooms. Temperature was 88 in the bedrooms. He checked the units out but the problem was it needed R22 freon and they ran out of it months ago and could not charge it. That cost me $220.00 because NOBODY from your company got back to me that day!!! I finally sent your company an email explaining my problem and asking for a responses. NO return email until the next day when surprise I found out that someone would be out on Tuesday!!! So Sunday, Monday we had a hot house until the company came out and then it took more time (NOT THEIR FAULT) because your company had to decide if they were to charge up my AC with 3 pounds of R22 or do a leak test. That took close to a half hour to decide. This claim cost me $220.00 + $45 for the second service call. All because NOBODY would call me back so I could speak to a rep and explain the problem and set up a time. Receiving an email about the appointment that was set without first contacting a client is poor customer service. Not happy about how this was handled. Thank goodness the company that came out was very professional about the whole situation.

Choice has a lot of bureaucratic procedures that contributes to service inefficiencies. Because Choice believes it is more important to save company money verses attending to the home repair, I had to be without a water heater for eight days. My technician could have repaired my water heater the same day if they were allowed to purchase their own supplies from the local hardware store. For this reason, I was without water for eight days . In addition, I had to go to a hotel to shower, and visit coin operating laundry mate to wash my clothes. This service is unacceptable and the company should have exceptions to accommodate circumstances as this. I even offered to purchase the supplies and get reimbursed and they said that option was not available. I am truly disappointed and will look for a better home service warranty.

My recent service claim was covered by CHW. However, I had already several issues that were declined with questionable reasons provided. When I complaint about those decisions to senior management, I got very rude responses and it looked to me that management truly doesn't care loosing customers. One manager even questioned my technical understanding and told me in a very nasty way that he is the one who makes the final decision, and if I don't like it I can always cancel the contract. This insurance is just average.

It was good, except that I was not contacted at the phone number I requested to be provided an update as to scheduling. I did get that resolved by going back to square one, acting like I was initiating a new claim. When I tried to get an update using an existing claim, I never got a call back after more than 2 hours.

I purchased a 6 year plan at a great price. The sales rep was great. However, they have not had a quick response to my claim. After 23 hours, I have yet heard from a contractor to schedule the work on my AC. I am so far disappointed in the company, now. I am beginning to believe that my realtor friend was correct when she said that she doesn't recommend this company because of complaints due to the lack of response and action to claims. I am not interested in calling my own contractor and going through a reimbursement plan. If Choice cannot follow through on this first claim, no telling what would happen if I paid out of my pocket and then tried to get them to reimburse me. Susy in Louisville, KY

My mother, a senior citizen, has been waiting 15 days in 98 degree weather for the supplier Choice Warranty contracted to repair the motor on our air conditioner. I have called 5 times in 16 days. I have spoken with the supervisors of people who answer the call and got Diane, a supervisor to call me. She could not determine where the motor was but assured me she would find out and call me back. Three days later, I haven't heard from her so I called to follow up and a request was made for her to call me and I still haven't heard. When someone gives you their word they are calling you back and they don't, it makes you lose confidence in them. Don't have a motor, they won't answer the technician's phone calls although they do respond to him via email. He has no idea where the part is and neither does Choice Warranty. I guess I won't be renewing my insurance with them afterall.

I like that Choice Home Warranty uses local appliance repair persons to fulfill their contract jobs. I've had a couple of appliances stop working properly. The technicians either fix the problem or recommend replacement.

It is very helpful to be able to call a number and order service on your appliances. Sometimes it takes longer than you wish but overall it worked out well. The $45 fee for service is a deal. Sometimes can require back up phone calls etc. but Beats calling around to find service people and waiting for answers from several people at once.

The technician was great. However, getting one to the house was a problem. The original one called from an "unknown" number, so I didn't answer. Had he started to leave a voicemail, I would have picked up immediately. So he just went to the next job and we had to wait two more days for another appointment. Very frustrating!

This is my first claim. Customer service is very good up to this point. My contract had the wrong city and zip. Due to my first clam had the wrong customer address (city and zip). The customer representative opened up a new claim that included the correct city and zip. I will update this post once this claim is resolved.

I have had two claims.The first was for my washing machine and after three weeks a technician is finally coming out this afternoon.The second was for our air conditioner and instead of waiting a week in extreme heat we called a local company who came right out the same day,again we alerted Choice,cancelled the appt they set up and then even after that they set another up which I had to cancel.So I am not too happy with them now.
