I was very excited about having a Home Warranty, but this was not a good experience. The first plumber did not show up and did not call, I drove for an hour to meet the plumber twice. The third plumber did show up and I think the problem is fixed but it took more than two weeks to get it fixed. If I had an emergency, this would have been a very bad situation. I hope if I ever have another situation, I have a better experience.

Response time is slow. The approval of claims are not done judiciously and conscientiously. They are not diligent in reviewing claims before they disapprove them. Once a claim was disapproved, it's an arduous task that is very time consuming and energy draining to go through their layered bureaucratic processes to file an appeal. They are quick to earn you business and take your money but when it comes to delivery, they foot-drag on you and come up with excuses to deny your claim. I have a total coverage policy with them and water heater is part of what was listed as being covered. When my water heater broke down and started leaking water, Choice Home Warranty denied my claim by claiming that my water heater is a holding or storage tank. The experience has been disappointing and distasteful.

Not all what I was led to believe. I have had 2 claims within the last year. One for washing machine that after several months I was offered a gift card to apply to a new purchase. They would not replace the machine and it was not repairable and I was offered a little over $400 gift card to Lowes, there was not a washing machine anywhere near that price. I bought a new one but still have not received the gift card. Claim is almost 6 months old. Second claim on air conditioning unit. They will replace outside condenser but according to them, both the inside and outside units have to be replaced because they will t be compatible and according to their contract, they are not liable for the whole u it and it will cost me a minimal of over $300 for outside and a minimal of $1200 for inside and undetermined amount for other items thst will not be covered. I am not happy with choice home warranty. Bet this one won’t be in any of your publicized reviews. The only thing worse than their performance is the communications on claim status. I hate talking to computers and answering g machines, but humans are very difficult to reach and claims managers will not return calls.

I've never had a bad experience with the technicians who have come to repair anything. The only negative thing I can say is that Choice Warranty sets up an appointment for me, without going through the company that's going to do the work, so I have to contact the company myself to schedule the real appointment.

My garage door stopped opening and I called for an appointment. The response was excellent and I had an appointment with a technician the next day. (He was great and worked until the problem was fixed) The problem was that CHW only covered ONE Spring for about $100. You can't fix the door without replacing both springs. I had to pay another $700 out of pocket to get the door working properly.

One repair service was quick and resolved. One appointment today to look at exhaust fan over the cooktop was cancelled. I found that out when I called. They assigned the wrong repair company. I have been waiting for this repair for more than 3 months. Very dissatisfied.

This time this technician was on time, fast, efficient, and knew what he was doing. That is not always true with the technicians sent to my house. Sometimes they misdiagnose the problem, sometimes they don't show up, sometimes Choice can not find anyone to come to my house. Choice impressively paid for a new microwave when mine was broken but they did not pay for someone to install it. So, when something goes right, it is wonderful. But, when something goes bad, it is extremely frustrating.

The prompt arrival of the service technician was great, however our appliance needed to be replaced. We took the offer for a lowes gift card to replace the appliance with. We still do NOT have the card and are still with out a working appliance. There is no way for me to track when the gift card/e-card will be sent to me. I would think that knowing a family is with out an appliance they would be faster at sending out a e-card. Especially since this is all electronically done!!!

Quick appointments for repairs, prompt responses - in most cases - to claims. The biggest con I have experienced is the "Cost" of replacements seem to come from the 2010 economy! $335 for a new brand name dryer is not even NEAR retail - and doubtful would even cover COST by big box stores.

The best thing that CHW does is send out professional people that know what they are doing. The worst is their sales pitch. Be sure to read the fine print first. When they say they cover systems, this is not accurate. They cover components of systems. They will fix or repair a component, but not the whole system. In my case I had a 20-year old split system heat pump that used R22 refrigerant. The compressor of the outdoor unit went out making the whole system inoperable. CHW would only cover upgrading the outdoor unit. R22 is no longer the standard refrigerant. In order for the system to work, the indoor and outdoor units must be compatible with the refrigerant - which is currently R410a. CHW told me that I would have to replace my indoor unit in order for the system to work and that would be my expense. My cost to upgrade the indoor unit was about 2-1/2 times the cost to replace the outdoor unit. So, BEWARE. You can be shocked when you find out that you're not getting exactly what they said in the sales pitch over the phone. And the sales person will not tell you these details of the contract. READ THE CONTRACT before you sign. I would not recommend purchasing a home warranty after this experience. I simply did not find it worth it.

The service is good. But, the customer service rep who sold me the service was very rude and nasty because i didn't want to purchase a 3 year warranty. I tried to explain to him that i could afford it but he got annoyed with me. He cut me off as i was talking and says, "You have paid for your 1 year service" and hangs up on me. He didn't give me my policy number and i had to call back. I thought he was trying to scam me.

I am disappointed that the homes warranty did not cover anything and passes this off as a maintenance issue. I will talk with your agency to figure out what is really covered or else I will have to cancel my policy. I think the technician that came did a good job. He told me on the phone it would cost $150 but then asked for $200 in addition to the service charge.

The monthly premium fits my budget What I like the least is the appliance replacement policy. They offered me less than 50% of the cost of a replacement dryer and told me the story about that is what they would pay their wholesaler except I can't buy one from him. Pure crap, Most recent repair took 13 days for the tech to return with the part even though he said he had the part sooner, He did repair the machine correctly and was very nice and efficient.

Recently I had to submit 2 claims. One was for my front load washer & the second for my gas range. CHW approved the repairs for a 12 year old washer which was close to $400.00. But it is taking over a MONTH already & no repairs have been made yet.. But when it came time for my 10 year old gas range, they denied the repairs of $500.00.. But they offered a replacement value. Well their offer wasn't even a 1/4 of what replacement value would be. My range is 5 burner, sealed unit, convection oven, cast iron grates, 3 oven racks, temperature probe cooking, self cleaning just to name a few. So I declined their 1st offer. Was assigned a case manager, set up the time to discuss it. Her second offer was still low, like not even half of what is going to cost to replace it. So her 3rd and final offer came in at about half of what the replacement would be. I'm sorry but replacement value means what it is going to COST to replace what you have Based on features & functions of what is currently in your home. CHW says they aren't an emergency coverage company. But at the same time how are you supposed to know when your major appliance is going to break down on you? Or your sewer is going to back up. How do they expect you to go weeks or months without functioning appliances, HVAC, plumbing.

Pipes were backing up w hen washing machine was draining. Tech finally broke thru the clog but he told me it was a temporary fix needed scoped. CHW at first told me the additional scope and repair was covered. Talked to the Tech I was told to call. Initially we talked and then he would not return calls. Emailed CHW again and then was told it was not covered. That has been my experience.

I had a claim in to repair my electric double oven. The repair man came in and it too multiple calls to Buget repairs and to CHW to get an answer on the repair. Final CHW sent me an email to settle for approx $300 e-card from Lowes. I refuse to settle and sent a text to speak with a claim rep. I got an email a few days later, which I answered to call me in person. After several weeks I called and an appointment was set for another week. The claim rep called on the appointed time and after taking pictures of the appliance they determined that they will give me $700 for the oven. I was offered before Pennies and now offered nickles. I ask the Rep to tell me what are they using to base the replacement cost, she cannot disclose that information. I also had a heating valve issue in the winter and the vendor again took several weeks and phone call with excuses to have that repaired too.

It seems when I need them they don't help out. Always some tiny techancality to get out of paying for a repair. I hate the policy they have of the technician having to email their diagnois BEFORE they will authorize the work to be done. No one has time for this. No one wants to work with warranty companied due to slow payment to the company. It saddens me when my copay keeps gping up. It started st $49 in 2015. Now it's up to $85. My preium went from $29 a mon to over $60 a mon. I won't recommend them. Too much red tape to go through. Frustrating trying to reach them by phone, email or their portal.

Happy with effort to get new vendor when 1st didn't show and accelerate their arrival date. 2nd vendor was great! Not happy with 1st vendor who did not come and was rude. Additionally, when called Choice on weekend due to no show and was hung up on 3 time when starting to explain issue. Talked with supervisor the next day who showed no concern we were upset and seemed put out to take my call.
