I really cannot rate Choice Home Warranty at this time. I reviewed the website and checked the reviews. A few minutes later Kendra contacted me in regards to a policy. She was very determined to get our business by offering discounts, but not pushy. We waited a few hours and then called back and signed up. We have had some bad experiences with Home Warranties, so until we have a need to use the service, I will give a negative or positive review. Kendra was excellent though.

Could have been a 5/5. Detractors: the time from start to resolution of the claim was over 3 weeks. 1st tech was unprofessional. Positives: 2nd tech saved the bacon absolutely wonderful tech (Climate Experts <- 5/5 for him) went well above the call of duty to help us get by while waiting on replacement parts that had been misordered by dispatch.

I'm New to Choice Home Warranty (just switched from AHS). I felt the Representative I started my contract with rushed thru our conversation trying to make sure I was going to start a warranty (like a fast talking salesman), scared was going to change my mind. I had called in a week prior & had a great conversation w/ another who was through & informative, so I already had my mind made up that I was wanting to switch over from our current Warranty... However, If I would have spoke with the 2nd Gentleman 1st I'm not sure I would have made the change. The customer should never feel like they are just a number and that is how I felt. I still made the switch for the simple fact that AHS customer service is less than Par and was in desperate need of change..hope I made a good decision

This was my first claim on my Choice Home Warranty. I called on a Sunday evening and was helped and had an appointment with a appliance repair person. The repair guy called and was able to come earlier than his scheduled time and fixed my washer.

Very quick to response I put a claim in 6;30 in the evening that my AC was not cooling down. A technician called me at 8;30 and came over 9pm and got it fixed ! Very impressed

Choice was able to set up an appointment for us to have AC checked. The appointment was set for Saturday morning between 7-11:00 AM. The technician didn’t call, I called for a status of arrival at 10:55 AM. Tech said they were running behind. I received a call at 1:56 PM that the tech was about one hour and 15 minutes away. Waited, no show. I called tech at 4:44 PM, left message regarding an update. Tech called back at 5:06 PM stating that they were in my area, but had another job. Acted as though it was my fault that they were late for my appointment and did not seem to want to come to look at my AC (90 degrees outside). They showed up at 5:45 PM, in a regular vehicle (black SUV). No apologies for been almost 11 hours late . Looked at AC unit, said the compacitor needed to be replaced. Tech said he had one in his vehicle. He replaced the compacitor. The unit started. My husband asked him to look at the thermostat because it would not set. The tech said oh the setting will stop blinking once it cools. The AC never cooled. The tech was there for half hour, did not stay to confirm the unit was working properly. This was our FIRST experience with Choice and it was not good. Had American Home Shied on another home, never had this problem. Depending upon the result of this situation, may have to go back. Choice was a referral from a family member. Having second thoughts if these are type of technicians they use.

I had a leaking washer. The Technician came on May 7 and said that some parts need to be replaced. It will take about 2 weeks to get the parts. Its almost over 3 weeks and the answer I get it that when the part comes we will fix it. I tried to get a date but no answer. I cannot imagine that in this advance age of technology, the parts company or factory cannot provide them with delivery date of parts. First it was 2 weeks, then 29th May and now its indefinite. I need to get washer fixed and have no clue when it will be fixed?

Not happy at moment. Purchased the home warranty shortly after purchase they called me to increase the length of the contract after a couple of calls we agreed to 3 year agreement. Had our first claim double oven went out, tech came out determined unit needed to be replaced could not be repaired. Was offered a ridiculous price of 30% of what replacement cost would be. I declined the cash offer of 30% to purchase a replacement. spoke with rep. said they NO LONGER offer REPLACEMENT. Only cash value of what they feel it would cost them to replace. I stated that I wasn't concerned with brand but if they could buy one for that cost please do so and have it installed. Said it's not their policy. VERY DISAPPOINTED. claim still not settled my agreement says repair or replacement. I was not informed of the fact they no longer do replacement so contract evidently was entered into fraudulently or with misinformation. As I have only had the policy a couple of months.

To be fair, the reason I could only give you a 3 star rating is probably Trane's fault, but it definately reflects on the feedback. Due to Trane's policy of not allowing service companies to have control boards in stock it took Trane 5 days to get the control board to the serviceman. When you add in the 2 day initial response time for the call, it took 7 days to get our air conditioner fixed and all it needed was a new control board. The only reason this call got a 3 star response is that the repairman was great. If not for him you would have got a 1 star review.

I had my first experience in a couple years now and when I called for my plumbing stoppage, the customer service rep was very nice but she told me they would get someone out to me in 3 days. I was not happy about that at all but fortunately I have another full bathroom that I could use. Had I not I would have been really upset. The plumber did a good job when he came .

We have a couple of properties under Choice Warranty. For the most part they've been pretty good. HOWEVER, this last claim was frustrating and I feel like I've been ripped. Reported a leak around the shower pipe. I was told it would be covered. The Tech came out and said it may just need to be tighten. He said he may need to get something from the hardware store, but he had to wait for their approval. He charged me and said, once approved he'd come back. He didn't come back, so the next day, I called the Tech's company and was told, my claim was DENIED and they didn't know why. I called Choice was told that the Tech reported, the shower head and faucet needed to be REPLACED, because they were leaking. He didn't tell, me that the day before. He couldn't tell me... Im looking at the faucet, it isn't leaking...it's the pipe above. I tried to explain that to the, Choice rep and so-called manager. They were trying to tell me what I saw! Stated they don't replace those items. I asked them to send out another Tech to verify what, I was saying, they wouldn't. I was told, I could get a second opinion if, I paid out of pocket for it. I already PAID out of pocket.. for the policy and that deductable. I asked for her supervisor, she said there wasn't one, she was it. However, she could send an email the owner, who had 72 hours to reply. She told me I was listening... basically, because I wouldn't expecting their hogwashed excuses. LOL...I said they didn't have any business integrity or professionalism, because they wouldn't even come see what I was talking about OR explain in person what their Tech reported. Wouldn't tell, me where in the contract it states that, that particular leak ISNT covered. They didn't want to resolve the matter. Im their PAID client, who is totally not satisfied, and unhappy with their service. Sorry,I made referrals and can't terminate. Id return to Fidelity.

I was with American Home shield for years and only changed to Choice because AHS was so hard to get ahold of. I had a couple of items with AHS that needed replacing and they actually REPLACED it. I need a new Refrigerator now with Choice because they said its too costly to repair but they only offer HALF of the cost of a new one so NO they do not REPLACE your item. Beware

Had a problem with my AC unit. Called Choice Home and got a ticket number and was told that I would be contacted within 48 hours. Was called the next day and an appt was made for the following day. Tech showed up on time and fixed the ac. Relatively pain free.

Choice was responsive, but things were a bit confusing because the covered home is a rental property managed by a property management company. There was some communication breakdown at first, but it was resolved. The vendor dispatched also said they aren't familiar with work with Choice, so apparently they are new to the network.

The tech was great that they sent. When they realized that it would be more efficient to replace the washer, they offered $350. When we realized that the cheapest comparable machine was around $850 we refused the $350 and they had a person contact us about negotiating a better price they offered $500. When I asked he representative why so low, he said that that was what they could get the washer for. At that point, I said to him, why don't you just order it for me and his response at two different times in the conversation was that their supplier was out of the machines and they could not order one. He then apologized for the salesman that sold me the warranty program did not explain to me properly about why they could not pay full replacement I think this is a terrible representation of a company that specifically promises to repair or replace as warrented. . I am not at all happy with this

We have had two technicians from Choice Home Warranty visit our house to repair a switch on our heat and air. One technician broke our system and another technician “was not authorized to repair the problem”. So we spent $65 twice to never get our heat and air fixed. Per the last technician you now have air conditioning but not heat. After a week of multiple contacts to Choice they’ve never advised on how they will fix our issue or if someone is even coming out. So my advice is don’t waste money on a Choice Home Warranty and instead get a service contract with a reputable local vendor.

The premise of the warranty is great and it paid for the repairs on my HVAC system. However, the “journey” to get it repaired was fraught with circular email conversations asking about proof of repair on something that we could not have known were issues since we just purchased the house 2.5 weeks ago. It came down to me citing a section of the Warranty Contract before they miraculously approved my repairs.

I have had this service for a few years now using it a couple of times. Each time they are rude and quick to get off the phone with you. This last time, my dryer broke and the service person said it was the board, which could be replaced after ordering it so I was happy with that. I find out later that they will not fix it and say they are happy to be able to replace the unit (due to cost) but only gave me PENNIES ON THE DOLLAR. I had to come up with over $200 to replace something that could have been fixed with a board. The kicker is you have to wait A FULL MONTH to get your money for the replacement as they have batches of checks going out, and they are behind. I have never had to wait that long (maybe 2 weeks) for reimbursement for anything!!!!!!!! One more thing, the website says that customer service is open/available 24/7. NOT TRUE. I have called several times to find out if my check has been sent (it hasn't 2 1/12 wks later) but to have them say, "sorry our customer service is closed"!!!!!!!.....really????????????????????????

I have been with CHW for over 5 years and gone through over 10 claims. CHW response fast and their customer service is very helpful. Sometimes the contractors are not responsive but CHW will change to a better contractor with your update. The online claim and tracking is very convenient. Overall very good experience so far.

I just submitted a request for quote and since then, I have received an average of 10+ robo calls a day from them. I block the numbers and they just call from a different number. This is probably standard for any quotes online, but it is actually turning me off to call them when I'm ready to talk about coverage, so beware when you request a quote

I called because the AC was not cooling . a technician from Yantra air llc , arrived on schedule . work for a few minutes ask for his $60 check He said was done. did not said anything else , did not explain what was wrong , did not leave any paperwork to tell me what he fixed. The house still hot I am going to wait the complete day to give the unit a chance to cool the house , if does not work I will let you know tomorrow if the problem is not fixed I don't want to pay The $60 again .

Today the person-May- on the phone had trouble understanding me and I had trouble understanding us! In Feb I files a claim on water leaking from ceiling in study. You sent man out, but he said he thought it was a/c unit. From my house, he called you back to report and to order an a/c man to come out. No one ever called back. I was going out of town, so called my regular a/c man and he came out to fix it. Your company did not follow through this claim. Hopefully, this will not happen again.

I am not pleased with the handling of this claim. It took a few days to receive a scheduled repair date and time. So I ensured I would be available for the 4 hour window to have a technician inspect and identify what needed to be repaired. The technician did not show. It was then an additional 45 minutes to discuss with CHW and the Company CHW had selected to do the repair, only to discover Furniture & Appliance Mart did not have an order. As they explained to me. I was very frustrated at this time because there was a definate breakdown in communication between CHW and F&A Mart. Which left us without a diagnosis or repair of our oven. The conversation I had with the Service Rep was that CHW would start the process of findiing another company for the repair service. Which is now over a week past the initial claim. I indicated this is not acceptable and asked to speak to a Mgr/Supr, put on hold for about 5 minutes. Finally after ensuring my frustration was heard with the this claim, Lewis the Supr assured me he wouldmonitor the scheduling of a technician for this claim. The next morning I received an email indicating I had the Reimbursement option. I chose this, found a reputable company and had the repair done in a day. Now I have to wait for the claim to be processed and me reimbursed , within 30 days. We signed a multi year contract with CHW and not pleased at this time as a customer with the handling of this claim. I understand CHW has commitments with many service providers and there is the potential for communication breakdowns. This being said, does not change my frustration.

CHW has worked fairly well except they will find (and will try to stick to) clauses that will exclude your particular issue. There are way too many to list and are cumbersome to understand by the average homeowner. Be aware this is basically an INSURANCE Agency and will try to save every penny they can and will give you the runaraound and are relatively hard to get in touch with once a claim is established. Above all, they are in business to protect their company, not necessarily the client. Having said that they have been very responsive on certain appliances like dryers and refrigerators. A/C units are the big elephants on their list (of course, it's the most expensive...).

I requested service on a dishwasher a few days prior to Mar 11, when the serviceman was to come between 3pm and 8pm. Never showed. Called Choice Warranty on Mar 12 and they told me I would be called back in 15 min. Never happened. Called GoPro appliance service at 9am on Mar 13. Said they would be here around 11am and they did show up finally. Not to happy at this point. Somewhat of a hassle.

I purchased two contracts for separate properties, on one I received adequate service although I was not completely pleased. Their contracts are deceiving, written so an item appears to be covered in the inclusions but then worded in their favor in the exclusions. I had an attorney review the contract after a denied claim and it was determined Choice Home Warranty had breached the contract. A certified letter was sent to their consumer advocate department after being stonewalled by their customer service agents. I have yet to receive a response to my request to resolve my claim and/or cancel my contract for a pro rated refund. I will continue protecting my properties with home warranties but certainly NOT CHOICE HOME WARRANTY! Beware of CHOICE HOME WARRANTY!

I did not agreed with the settlement offered at the outset, but later upon requesting to speak to an account supervisor, it took about a week to receive a call from Ms. Ashley W in which after explanations was rendered an acceptance agreement to the claim was finalized. This was the only claim forward for about a two (2) years of coverage with both two houses.
