When I bought my home insurance policy through Choice Home Warranty, I told the gentleman that I had 2 furnaces, and 2 water heaters. I asked if they were all covered, and was told YES! Now one of them is leaking, and CHW denies the claim, stating that it is not covered because it is not inside the house, and the rust at the bottom, caused the leak. So my points are this: 1- There has to be an internal leak to create rust. This was verified by my contacting multiple plumbers. 2- While access is gained through a door in the attached garage, the structure of the home is such that the laundry room (access from inside the home), bathroom (again, access from inside the home), and the water heater, are all located on the same wall. Justify the denial of my claim to me.

The jury’s out - I am waiting to hear about replacement parts or replacement for a stove that has quit. It’s been over three weeks since I was informed via email that the parts were not available. Somewhere along the way, Choice seem to think the matter was settled. I still have a broken stove, and no repair or replacement is in sight. There has been a second request to contact the service person who determined what was needed. I haven’t heard back, but will be calling a choice tomorrow.

I liked when you file a claim they get right on it..Sometimes it be the companies they deal with either they will not answer when you call or nor will they call back..i somewhat had a semi bad experience on that part but overall they get right on ypur claim to get someone out to check out the problem...Good price!!

The person you sent out to check the unit actually removed the cover. Once he completed his work, I assumed he replaced the cover correctly. A few days later, I had a contractor that I paid for, examine the unit to get a second opinion. He found the cover was in place but all the bolts/nuts were strewn on the roof and the cover of the unit was unsecured. This was during the time we were having heavy winds. If that cover flew off the roof and damaged someone or their property who would be responsible. I would never have known about the situation if I didn't get the second opinion.

The company is good and service is good. However, instead of repairing and replacing the appliances, Choice offers very low amount to buy the replacement. Further, the company requires the client to pay lot of money as copay instead of covering for $65 service call. These facts are hidden somewhere.

Overall a good experience. The choice team is definitely driven to close sales. Friendly and courteous staff. I do not like the auto dial feature that choice has. You click on an email a few minutes someone calls. Can be a bit intrusive. Overall good experience with the enrollment. Haven’t used the service yet.

I like the fact that when I first used CHW for an issue with my plumbing they came right out the same week I called in to report a problem and it got resolved in a timely manner. However when I called on the 22nd of February to report a problem with my refrigerator not getting cold, they couldn’t get me a technician until the next week which was Friday March 3rd. The technician was very professional and courteous and he really tried to help, but there was a much bigger problem than expected so he let choice home warranty know what was going on and the cost of the repairs. Choice home warranty decided that it wasn’t worth repairing my refrigerator and offered me a e-gift card for $986.00. I didn’t except the offer right away because I felt like I was lowballed. I called in to speak with a manager and end up having to schedule an appointment with my so called case manager. I couldn’t get an appointment with her until yesterday (03/07/2023). I was supposed to be on the call with Sean W, but I spoke with Paula M. I explained to her the situation with the refrigerator and the fact that I’ve been having to spend money every single day, multiple times a day on food so me and my 6 year old granddaughter, plus the rest of my children can eat. I asked her can they compensate me in some way because I’m losing money a lot of money having to eat this way instead of being able to cook, eat, & store any remaining leftovers and she told me no. Then she told me to go back to the email I received from them (CHW) to except the offer so that can email me the e-gift card but (here’s the part that really blew my mind), I wouldn’t get it until 21 to 30 days from the date, which means I have to keep spending money buying food day by day which is really costing a lot more money trying to keep food on my table but they don’t care. I asked Paula since it’s taking an additional toll on me and my income, can they compensate me for all the money I’ve lost this far and she told me no, they can’t further offer money other than what they’ve offered. So in short again I got lowballed. After this contract is over I’m not renewing my contract with this company again neither would I recommend anyone to this place, Kerry J

I have had 3 calls specific to my refrigerator, and 2 calls concerning my furnace. The first call for the fridge diagnosed the issue. The second trip repaired it. It stopped working again and the third call provided a new solution, however, the part has been on back order for 3 weeks. Management was supposed to call me within 3 business days and never did. The first furnace call identified and resolved the source of a leak. It came back again. The second call removed an obstruction and recommended we buy clips to fix the leaking issue as he had none. All in all, the professionalism was good, but they make you wait without use of your appliance while parts are on back order and do not always follow up.

I was without my stove/oven for a month - and they only gave a portion of the cost of replacement - I could live with that, but I found that taking a month to get the gift card unacceptable, and the fact that I could only go to Lowes - even if I could get it somewhere cheaper. For the other claims I've had, they have been wonderful.

Because you’ve had me pay a lot of extra money for stuff and it was fixed wrong. You did make it right, but wanted me to pay for a new a/c unit after they put the wrong air handle in. But you ended up doing the right thing. The air handler was expensive after I talk to a couple other air conditioning people. So I feel like I got a good deal for $1800 +2 service calls.

The garage door went fairly well. The dishwasher has been a terrible experience! First contractor didn’t show so Sears took over. It’s been well over a month and it’s still not fixed. They have been here 2 times trying to diagnose the problem- were scheduled to “finish” today, but called at 930am (after us taking the 3 day of work off!) and said they don’t have a technician to come!!! We called at 8am and they said they had us for today though!! We are now scheduled again for March 14!!! It has been a horrible experience!!! We should have been priority at this point. Plus Sears won’t give you a window of time- their arrival is 8am-5pm so you are forced to take the whole day of work off. If it isn’t fixed by March 14- we must have another company and it needs to be fixed asap!!!

Some services were great, others not so much. You need to tell me when I have requested service on something that is not actually covered before the tech shows up. I wasted $64 twice due to this. My most recent experience replacing a broken disposal was excellent. I am still waiting for Emerald to finish fixing the leak from inside my pool heater. He did replace the manifold after 6 months, but it still leaks and he does not return my texts.

They have refused to communicate with me concerning my mother's replacement for another stove. The claim was filed in December because her oven stopped working, choice sent a service man out and he had to order the parts for replacement, but he failed to tell us that he ordered 3 parts. The box cam and we notified choice but to find out that there was still a missing part. After going back and forth with the representative we were told that the last part could not be found, and they will be escalating our service order up to a department that will handle the replacement. It has been over 2 weeks and we are unable to get in touch with anyone to get a status. From December to March my mother still don't have a replacement because you guys have failed her. I will never refer you to anyone else.

You have to call a plumber yourself like I had to do…….waited three days and was told each time I called it would be an additional ten days to wait……finally called a plumber myself and had a plumber out in less than three hours…..

in my opinion the repairmen do not plan on doing the repair when they show up. They have another job scheduled because they believe that Choice is either going to deny the claim or take too long to approve the repair and they do not want to sit around waiting (wasting their time) for an approval. So even if the repair is approved you will have to set up two appointments to get the work done.

You need to hire better companies. They’re flakes, they don’t show up and don’t even bother calling. Then they don’t send estimates when they say they will. Also one was supposed to send a report to you and apparently never did so I am living with that heating system, with no filter very unhealthy! I reported these problems to you twice, and you promised to take care of the situation and never did. So I’m very dissatisfied! Someone has to do some thing about these problems. I resent paying $75 to these people and nothing gets done. They don’t keep their word so apparently you’re hiring incompetent flaky people. Some thing has to be done about this problem immediately I’m really thinking of canceling this policy and going somewhere else if this problem is not rectified immediately! Thing

The first company iron mountain plumbing were the ones the Damaged the valve the let’s the water out and the needed another work order to come back out and make the repairs without charging me another $89 dollars service fee which I appreciated and I had explained this to choice home warranty, and thought the same company would return. But Another company was sent out called drain Co and I had to pay another $89 dollars service call fee. That wasn’t right for me to pay DOUBLE

Initially I was treated as a prospect, continued to receive invitations to sign up. Could not find member #. Filed claim for water damage occurring first thing that morning. Choice could not provide a plumber for two days. Had to find someone to prevent microbial growth. Had to pay out of pocket. One upside wa Trey with Converse Service, he repaired Thermador stove. Very dependable and would recommend
