Claim #129190347 I was scheduled for a review of this claim on 8/12 at 7:30 A.M. MST. I received several reminders prior to the meeting but never got a call from the claim specialists. I was able to get their phone number and ext. from your customer services rep., placed several calls to them with no response. The reason for turning down my claim makes no sense and I would like an explanation. There nothing amazing about your service, I would appreciate a call from someone regarding my claim. I will never be foolish enough to purchase a home warranty in the future fromn Choice or any other company as they always find a way to turn down a claim. Claim specialists handling my claim are Sean W and Melony R.

Easy to get to a representative. Sometimes the time from when the service request is raised to when the tech schedules the appointment is too long. I believe this has to do with the fact it is all automated. Sometimes a call to the tech will yield a sooner visit.

However on the positive side I think Sears has one of the best repair services and I was thrilled to see it would be one of their technicians

CHW sent out A/C technicians from Boadi Banner Controls to solve the mysterious problem of my A/C not working at the start of the season.... After a while, they identified the problem as a faulty circuit breaker in my main electrical panel. This took a lot of detective work... and time. Costing me only $45.

This was the 3rd claim; with repairs being performed above and beyond on 1st two claims. The A/C unit just happens to be on its last legs and needing replaced. CHW received the technician’s report and responded by agreeing with field technician that replacement is warranted. Thank you for listening to the technicians in the field!!!!

I'm going through the process for the first time. It took a week before someone could come look at my refrigerator and they recommended replacing it. I was giving a case worker that took awhile to get through to him. I didn't like that I would be given a Lowes gift card (that may take up to 30 days to receive) because that limits me to shopping for a better deal. It looks like I will have to spend at least $600 of my money to replace the refrigerator.

So far not impressed with the home warranty. Have a claim that was denied and is currently being reviewed. Had to pay the contractor out of pocket to fix my issue. Same issue happened two days later and he returned on a Sunday to fix my a/c for no additional charge. Not happy with the warranty, but the contractor was very professional and prompt.

Overall, I feel the product is worthy of the phone representative would simply understand the word NO. It is a complete sentence and not a difficult sentence to understand. I was pleased with the annual rate, the coverage, the policy terms, the discounted service call for the so-called promotional pricing, which I find to be suspect at all times. However, when the conversation with Ray turned to the VIP PROGRAM and his statement, "My manager, is standing right beside me," the conversation went south. I said no...he kept pressuring...I said no again...he didn't get the message, and when I said no the third time, it was followed by, "Ray, you have been a delight to talk to today, but you just do not understand the word no. Have a good weekend" and disconnected from the call. If you do not mind high-pressure selling tactics, you will be delighted at the opportunities. If you find the challenge to be one of desperation on the side of the sales team, you will not find this experience to be pleasant. As I have done, you should decide for yourself, but two out of five stars are the best I can do at the moment.

Claims process was easy to submit. Although it took longer than I would have liked for a tech to come out (my AC went out and it was HOT!) the time that it took was not unreasonable. (Less than 48 hours). The tech was responsive, arrived on time and was able to fix the issue quickly.

Your "Talk with a Rep about the $ offered n lieu of repairing the appliance" is a joke - a waste of my time. I have done it twice, but there is no attempt to adjust the amount offered. It's "Let me check" and "We cannot offer more" Your ability to find a wholesale price for an appliance has no relationship to the price I can find at retail. I have two homes covered with Choice. I will likely be switching to another warranty company.

It had to do with my second refrigerator I had it in my utility room my garage room and I moved it into my mothers house which is right next door on the same property same address same everything same property tax ID number and I moved it into her house to make more room in the garage and it had to do with the icemaker not working and when they got here he could not diagnose it because it was not in the main houseTo the other house and he could not adjust it or fix it so if I moved it back to the garage he could but I didn’t have any manpower here to move it back to the garage

We have filed our first claim. While we are grateful for the warranty, we were surprised to find out that we were responsible for part of the cost of a water heater replacement. It was our assumption, obviously a false one, that we paid the initial service call fee, but then the repair or replacement was fully covered by Choice Home Warranty.

Since my claim was denied and I appealed and again was denied. The 15 minute window was actually a seven minute window. I was also told that the person I talked to was the final decision maker but she would not allow me time to discuss alternate repairs that would be appropriate for this situation. If you call this customer service and that’s the way you want customers treated I would be surprised if CHW would agree with this approach. In closing this might be a situation where we have two people with very opinionated views and neither part listened to the other. If so I would appreciate talking to another claim expert. I am very disappointed with my coverage. Twice my claim has been denied. I am on the verge of canceling my coverage. I pay my premiums and the service charge and I am not satisfied with the way I am being treated. Twice I paid the service charge and my items were not fixed or replaced. This last time Choice Home Warranty made a judgment call and denied my claim.

Dear Sir/Madame, I am very disappointed with my recent call regarding my washing machine claim. I was offered way below pricing of current replacements. The representative I spoke to on 7/6/21 Ms. Shantae M. that assisted was unprofessional and made me feel as if she was doing me a favor by reviewing my claim as she stated “if it was up to me this call would have been over in 5 minutes”; with a very annoyed tone of voice. Customers purchase your policies to later in hopes of defraying the cost of repairs and appliance replacements not to have a representative belittling your request or appeal as is our right to do so. Ms. Shantae with her action/response made it clear to me that she didn’t give my appeal any consideration and simply gave me a response as she was showing a force of power over the customer. Apart from that I wasn’t given the option to choose where I would purchase my appliance but rather told I would be given a gift card to Lowe’s increasing my limitations to compare prices. Ms. Shantae M. took no consideration to the fact this is a needed appliance to be replaced timely and providing the option of check payment to allow for timely replacement would have best met the customers need. I’m aware the job of the representative is to save Choice money on claims but it’s unfair when replacements cost are not considered for the full cost of the comparative item when referring to a particular store. I hope in the future Ms. Shantae takes her customers under consideration and respond with respect.

Customer service at the time of buying is great - falls off after that because they really don't cover much. In order for the to cover anything it has to be a new appliance or they find a loophole to not cover it. This happened 3 times. The final straw that caused us to go with another company was that they approved a repair, we paid the technician for his service at the time then apparently Choice HW decided to reneg the approval which caused the repair company to call us and ask for the remaining balance. That was very weird.

We just had our first claim. The technician was very nice but arrived 2 hours after our service window schedule. We did not receive a call or text with an update or to verify we would be able to be home at that time. He was able to get our AC running but Choice ultimately denied replacing the part causing the issue. We we certainly disappointed with our first experience.

It is very difficult to have a claim accepted for repair due to CHW's requirement that all failures must meet their "Normal Wear And Tear" definition that has many loop holes. Early this year, we had a pre-season inspection of our A/C system, and there was a crack discovered in our cooling evaporative coils that resulted in a coolant leak and excessive condensation. The condensation caused excessive corrosion in our furnace drip pan. The net result was no coverage because the coolant leak was not normal wear and tear. During the past couple of weeks, our water heater failed, and the tech identified the root cause as a leak in the water tank extinguishing the flame in the heating burner. This too was classified as not meeting normal wear and tear, and hence, claim was denied. Last year, a dishwasher pump failed, and that they replaced.

The service man on our microwave was awesome. The only issue is it took over a week to get the repairman to address the issue. The microwave is a sears kenmore. I have had sears repair man service our other appliances much quicker when I called them myself without Choice Home Warranty.

We called on a A/C issue and an appointment was set up in a couple of days. The technician was on time and diagnosed the issue as a dead"common" line. The Nest thermostat would not function with this dead line. An old manual thermostat was installed since the common line is not needed for operation, the A/C is now working. The request to trace the common line was denied since it's requirement was only for an electronic thermostat which is not covered.

As it turned out the price to fix our microwave exceeded the microwave's wholesale value so it was determined that it could not be repaired. The option given was a replacement cost associated with the microwave's wholesale value, which was not addressed in the contract, which was also given as less than half of its total retail cost. In fact, Choice does not "replace" the defective equipment, but rather suggests a replacement cost in lieu of "replacement", which is also not clearly spelled out in the contract.

Initial tech was a no call no show at my house 2 days in a row - missed 2 days off work foe that. The techs that finally came out were extremely nice. The amount they offered didn’t even cover half of what it cost to replace microwave. Was expected to go out and buy a microwave that was on sale for a limited time. There is no definition of what the companies actual cost is (all it says is that it may be less than retail) and they don’t have any way to explain what their actual cost is - so they just make up a number. Hard to believe the companies actual cost is 40% less than a sale item on retail..

Second tech was great (Meyers). Fixed prob simply. New Capacitor. First guy (AHRS) was telling me we probably needed whole new system, and then he never followed up, even after multiple calls from me over about three days. We were without AC for almost a week in June in NC. Not good. Service and responsiveness from CHW staff was good, but the wait on the first contractor was ridiculous.

Getting appointment was a great experience but trying to appeal a claim which should be converse especially with air conditioning that’s not working and getting an email saying that there’s annoying my claim and saying that was rust and corrosion where the leak is it’s not true because it’s a copper pipe that’s leaking has nothing to do with anything around the area there is no rust there which the technician agrees upon the same thing that I’m saying I’m not happy right now I also have asthma and I cannot afford to be without air-conditioning

I was very pleased the first couple claims I placed. But this last one concerning an electrical problem was very disappointing. The first electrician set up to come out never showed or called. Then it took a lot of emails to Choice to finally have our problem looked at. I must say tho that the electrician that was sent out finally was extremely good! Our policy is coming up for renewal and we will not be renewing simply because of the length of time it to you to finally have our problem fixed!!!

I was refereed by my father, so I signed up. When I made my first claim for my washing machine I was shocked to find out that the replacement process would take 30 days for a gift card from a specific Vendor. This process was not explained to me, when they signed me up. they were more interested in up selling me additional product Choice Home Warranty offers. I also find sticking me with a gift card to a specific vendor is a bit distasteful. I am not going to wait 30 days to replace my washing machine, I will purchase a new one, but I will be stuck with a Loews gift card that I may or may not use. :(
