I like I can always get someone on the phone to answer my questions. I like the ease of filing a claim. I like getting help paying for unexpected repairs and/or replacements. I don't like, but I think this is standard, the reimbursement for replacement is sometimes less than my choice of replacement. I understand the policies. I like that Choice maintains contact with me and keeps me apprised of the status of my claim when a technician is anticipated to me. I like that I've used my policy for two homes and always been satisfied with the speed and fulfillment of our contract

Easy to start a claim. Didn't like talking to someone in a foreign call center. I had an air conditioning company come the next day for service. The service person listened and responded to my questions and concerns. Problem ended up not being a problem. Well worth the $45 service charge.

I’ve been happy with Choice u until they said that since my dishwasher needs to be replaced, they’d send $250 to Lowe’s and I’d need to go there and pick it out. I was assured when I signed up with Choice that any replacement would be purchased, delivered and installed and evidently that was not true. I don’t want to leave Choice but I am very unhappy with this latest development. Please purchase a comparable dishwasher, have it delivered and your nice service agent come install it and remove the old one. Thank you Audrey Cantley

I had a recent claim concerning my garage door opener. The claim was assigned right away but that is where the problem got started. As soon as the repairman got here he started with upselling telling me that Choice would not cover the problem with my opener. He did some work on the unit and it began to work again.....for a few days. I called Choice back to get them to resend someone to fix the unit. A few days later the same repairman showed up and told me I had to repay for a new service call because the problem wasn't his fault. He got rather verbally aggressive with me and I finally called Choice and told him to leave. He said he wanted his additional money right them. I told him no because I wasn't able to reach Choice and I was going to let your company make the decision. To make a very long story short, when I finally was able to talk to someone at choice they wanted to send out the same company again. I said no way. The end result was that I had to pay another service call for a new company to come out. This company saw right away that the earlier repair was not completed properly and the replacement part had already frayed due to poor installation. He got things corrected. He told me to let you know that he had been in a position to correct many repair and installation problems caused by the original company. Personally I think that it would be an advantage for all of your clients to do a better job of vetting the companies you send out to do work. I got to pay a double fee and take a lot of abuse before my repair was completed. Not good!

Thus far, I have used the home warranty service plan on only two different occasions. Each time, the service has been quick to respond to the issue presented. The service was excellent and got the job done on the first visit. Plan to continue their services in the future.

The repairman identified and fixed the problem within 10 minutes of arriving to my house for $65 service fee. A service man from a different company was at my house for 30 minutes to 1 hour, charged me $240 maintenance fee, and said I need to replace the furnace for $6,700.

I was without air conditioning for 2 days of 100+° temps, and recovering from surgery. I called CHW several times, and the CSR's were borderline rude. Once the technician was FINALLY assigned, he was at my house within a couple of hours and had my a/c back on and functioning well. So KUDOS and 5☆ to Justin with Birdnow Mechanical, and 1☆ to the CSR's at CHW. Previously, my water heater went out, and I had to have it replaced. The plumber CHW sent out submitted the information, but I ended up having to pay out of pocket for the new w/h.

They were untruthful in their response to a repair service. Rather than repair the refrigerator for a 3rd time (a design flaw with the refrigerator) I requested they just given the me cash for the repair appointment and parts to use against the cost of a new refrigerator. The manager I spoke with said it was against their policy to do so, and besides the appointment and parts had already been paid for. When talking to the repair company they said that was impossible as they hadn't event billed the insurance company. They had recommended that we replace the refrigerator due to the design issue. It is hard to trust a company that says they are the best, when in fact their team members can't event tell the truth.

We picked Choice because of their high ratings and extensive plan coverage. We have not had a home warranty before, but it was paid for when we purchased our home. Our AC broke on the first day it hit 110 degrees. We called Choice on Sunday and they responded. We learned that their service comany (Sears Home Services) could not come out till the following Friday. We felt that was too long to wait given the heat. Choice let us hire an HVAC company and they came out on Monday. The condenser fan motor was leaking fluid and seized up. The part had to be ordered from Trane because our unit was 34 yrs old, and no one had it in stock. It took a couple weeks gor the part to arrive. Meanwhile, Choice sent us a questionaire and wanted pictures of the AC unit and part. They also wanted the technicians pay rate and part cost. We quickly learned that this information is not shared by most HVAC companies, including the one we hired. We called several other HVAC companies to see if they would work with a warranty company and the answer was, "No". So this caused us some stress and the technician wanted to cancel the order. On the day the part came in and the technician was enroute, we received the approval to proceed. We were prepared to pay for the repair, because Choice was making it difficult. Then more pictures and questions needed to be submitted, and in about a month the claim was paid by Choice. We believe that our experience is probably typical with warranty companies. The fact that most HVAC companies wont work with them, really limits the homeowner. The Sears Home services in our area did not receive good ratings and we think they handle most calls for Choice. We were offerred a renewal rate that is the same price as the part that was replaced.

In the 6 years that I had your insurance, I've had a microwave handle replaced; some damaged sheet rock, from a roof leak, fixed; my stove's ignition system fixed, and a new pump put into my dishwasher. All were very much appreciated. Of course the insurance was $2100, and I paid out $45 each occurance. Your techs did a good job. I would suggest you give homeowner's receipts for the work completed. I had nothing to show a prospective buyer to prove repairs had been completed. Also appointments should be announced by texts on smart phones in addition to emails.

I like the price and peace of mind. The customer service & response time has been unsatisfactory on 3 claims— 1 on my microwave, 2 on the HVAC. They sent a repairman to fix my microwave 3 times then did not tell me it could not be repaired. I found out from the microwave repairman and then it took me another month to get the email voucher. Likewise, my heat went on my hvac last winter. Took a week to send someone. He had to order a part. Part arrived. Wrong part. Reordered. Broken part. It took 3 weeks to fix the heater. Fast forward to July heat wave (triple digits daily) in San Antonio. A/C goes out & it took 48 hours to get a repairman there. They could only give me an 8-hour window when someone might contact me but said I could call someone on my own. I spent 2 nights in a hotel & the guy fixed my A/C in 10 minutes. The Service provider was amazing. I let the microwave stuff slide bc you can make do w/o a microwave but you cannot be without A/C in Texas summers. Choice Home Warranty seemed indifferent to the emergency.

I have been a Choice Home customer for nearly a decade. Choice Home generally covers most necessary items, however, their customer service is subpar. When a major appliance or system breaks in your home, it can be very stressful and overwhelming. To spend time waiting (sometimes days) for a technician to get assigned and then to spend additional time advocating for adequate reimbursement for appliances or waiting for parts (sometimes up to two weeks!) while being met with resistance from customer service staff can be exhausting. There are some good customer staff members, but those who are rude and argumentative spoil the lot. I continue to be a member as my home is older and I have generally had success with getting appliances replaced, but the protocols and procedures during the claim submission, review, and reimbursement process are what drive my 3 star review.

Repair service you assigned never completed the JOB said he needed a new mother board for the microwave and his supply source did NOT have one in stock and he would call me when it came in. Today August 7th I find out through a TEXT message that my claim had to be reassigned. What MUST I DO to get my Microwave oven repaired? Its been an open claim since JULY and After 5 Appliance repair even though a GREAT TECH is a poorly run company when he cannot service the customer through your warranty program,Please advise me what can be done.

Like the peace of mind provided by the service. Dislike the inability to provide technicians in a timely manner. Still waiting for over a week (under the wrath of my wife) for the service to a dishwasher! Occasionally the service representative on the phone service is not understandable. Background noise and/or heavy accent is difficult to understand.

The value is when big ticket items fail. I had 2 bad experiences with Choice in the 2021-2022 time frame, and I was pretty sure I would let the contracts expire. I have 5 homes with Choice warranties. When one of them was ready for renewal Choice convinced me that their new CEO was righting the ship. I renewed/upgraded all 5, and the first 2 claims have been handled flawlessly. I'll let you know in another year whether this is a consistent pattern

Most appliances covered hassle free, except air conditioning. If your air conditioning goes out, the company may keep you waiting for several days before dispatching a repair tech. Mine went out in 95 degree heat and I had to call for my own repairs out pocket because I couldn't wait that long. Apart from this, most other claims were resolved well.

The CSR was very knowledgeable and explained the coverage well. He was able to give me the Senior discount that AARP recommended, in addition to the July 4th promotion. I had several questions he was able to clear up. However, my one issue is that Brandon spoke too fast and talked over me, when I had questions referring to his ongoing sales presentation. I had to remind him, that I was taking notes, several times and to slow down. Other than that, he was polite at the end. I am very pleased with your extensive coverage and the price.

He said I needed a part for the ice maker and would get back to me. they scheduled for another date(june 26) then I got a message that the technician had a family emergency and they had to cancel. The service person showed up in a reasonable amount of time and did a really great job. My only issue is that when we file a claim with Choice, it may be several days before they assign us a service person and the notice I received for a serviceperson coming THAT DAY was sent at 6 am. That worked out because of my unique living/working scenario, but most often, that would not be acceptable.

The customer service part of the experience is challenging because nobody ever answers the phone and even when I leave my number of "auto" call back, I don't receive a call. When I put my questions in the portal it is about 50% of the time that someone responds. When they do, it nice but I'm often not sure of next steps or keep up on the status of my claim --- very frustrating.

The agent, Tim, was polite and efficient with my time. The transaction went very smoothly. The only request I had that he was apparently not allowed to privide was that I wanted something in writing BEFORE paying. However, I went ahead with the contract before receiving a copy because I had done some homework before calling, so I knew I was not talking to a scammer. And I was the one who called in, not the other way around.

Your home warranty information on what is covered and what is not covered should be on your website period! I do not and should not have to go to google to look up your coverage via the user agreement. It should be on your web page! Just a little pushy on the extended 3 or 5 year plan get 6 months or a year free and price lock. Don't have that kind of money and would not spend it without ever using your service. Why would I pay 1500 or 2500.00 for a warranty I have never used. Again, this should be a great option after the first year renewal with you and not all right up front. We just moved here and certainly cannot afford to pay in advance at this time. Put more helpful information on your warranty on your website. What are you trying to hide?????????

The problem wasn't fixed. Burners that are not lit were sparking when a lit burner was turned down low. Technician's language skills may have kept him from understanding the complaint--he kept saying it was normal and demonstrated turning on burners, but not letting me turn them down & wait for sparking to happen. That problem still exists. A burner we thought wasn't working was actually okay.
