If I could give zero stars I would! My dryer stopped working in March Here it is Aug. And still they have not fixed the problem I paid 100$ for tech services. Three in total have been to my home. All three said the dryer could not be fixed. The " mother board is out. I have called chw many many times. All I get told is " we need to send a tech but don't have any in your area. all we can do is put you at the top of the list!!" I have been told this 5 xs Associates were rude and short spoken. Then I get the option of getting my own tech. Which I pay for and then they might give me some of the money back. Around 300$. Next I tell them to stop taking 60$ aonty out of my bank if they weren't going to do anything about the dryer . To which I was told, " I will cancel it but the claim you currently have will be void!!! Are you kidding me? I have never had any claims in 3 years. The entire time I've used them. Do not fall for this trap! Use American home shield instead. I use to have them and I switched to chw. Price was the deciding factor. At least they did what they said, and no run around.

I loved the idea of a home warranty and selected Choice. This was such a disappointing and deeply frustrating experience for me. The amount of time and effort I had to devote to dealing with them (not working with them) was incredible. Everything I submitted was denied and forced me into lengthy appeals processes. I had prepaid for 3.5 years to get the best price and ended up getting help from the CA insurance board to get Choice to cancel my policy and refund my money. Do your own research before signing an agreement and read the policy very carefully. I've seen good reviews for them, but my experience couldn't have been worse. I never post complaints, but this was so frustrating that I felt I should take the time to warn those considering Choice to be very thorough in your research and remember, buyer beware.

I've had this policy for almost 4 years. The first two times I called for problem no one showed up. I called to see why I didn't get the answer I was looking for. They rescheduled the service and again nobody showed up. A few months ago I called for a broken garbage disposal and the the technician showed up on time and fixed it. I think when my policy runs out next year I'll start looking for another.

Read exactly what the warranty covers. If you want peace of mind in the likelihood that a major repair or replacement is covered then a home warranty is the way to go. Just know exactly what's covered and more importantly, what's not covered.

Technician Shannon K is great. Choice Home Warranty covered the motherboard for our refrigerator, but denied replacing the separated seal on the freezer compartment. He replaced the seal on our upright freezer, but frozen moisture still collects on the inside of the door.

Both contractors with each claim were awesome, but CHW takes too long to process claims and set up contractors to come to the home. With the first claim we had to wait 2 weeks to have hot water and had to pay an additional amount for items that should have been covered.

My water heater was going out. Scheduled an appointment & the plumbing company saw the tag on the existing water heater and said "this is not an 80 gallon heater - tag is wrong". Plumbing company requested approval for replacement. Choice refused. I filed an appeal. Once on the phone I was told "it didn't matter that the tag was wrong, it didn't matter that the plumbing company said the water heater was only a 50 gallon tank - there was not a way to appeal this - The ONLY way is if I can get the manufacturer to give me the paperwork to say the tag was incorrect". While my water heater was leaking into my garage. So I paid my regular plumber the $1400.00 to replace my 50 gallon water heater. Here's the kicker - I am a REALTOR - I KNOW that there was a way that someone could have verified that the existing water heater was a 50 gallon tank. You did not offer that option - at all. CONGRATULATIONS I will NEVER offer Choice as a home warranty option to my Clients ever again.

I have had a home and a condo covered by Choice for about 4 years now. All in all, I have been quite satisfied with their service. Recently I have had 3 claims with them and two of them were nightmares! First the clothes washer broke down so they sent someone out promptly to look at it. The repairman said they had to send for parts and would probably be in next week. To make a long story short, I called them every week and was told ‘next week’. This went on for seven and a half weeks! That’s right , for almost two months I had to lug my laundry for my family of four to the launder mat and spend all that money. I kept calling Choice, but they couldn’t do anything about it. When the parts came in and they installed them, my washer tub would not fit in the new parts! So now they had to order a new tub which would take two more weeks! Today, after nine weeks, they finally fixed it. Okay so right around the same time my dishwasher broke. They sent someone over promptly, but he didn’t seem to know much about the dishes washer which, by the way, was only two years old and wasn’t cheap. Of course he had to order parts! These venders that Choice contracts with NEVER carry parts! Came back the next week installed the part, but still didn’t work the next day. Had to call him back again for the third time and he did something with the drain. Again the next day it didn’t work( they never stay long enough to make sure it works) and we called Choice to send him back. They gave us another appointment, but no one ever came! By now it’s been at least three weeks without a dishwasher. When I complained to Choice about the no show appointment they said they would get back to me. The next day I got an email from them saying they were denying my claim because it was our negligence. So I had to go to buy a new dishwasher to replace my two year old dishwasher! Cost me $1000.! My third claim was a loud noise coming from my refrigerator. Choice sent someone to my house in 2 days and he was able to fix it in the spot, so that was good. So, to sum it up, I am always able to reach Choice without any problems, day or night. What I have noticed over the years are the terrible venders they have their contracts with! They look like little mom and pop companies that have no parts and inexperienced repairmen! Have of them pull up in their cars with no uniforms. When they do have a truck, it never has the parts you need so from the time you put in a claim until it’s fixed, can take several weeks! I will probably keep Choice because all these home warranties are alike. The main reason I keep one is in case my air conditioner breaks. It scares me to think how long I would have to go without it before they fix or replace it considering I live in Las Vegas!!

Only issue was technician installed non programmable thermostat while we had programmable thermostat but otherwise all set I appreciate and recommend choice home warranty services

I explained to the cust. service rep. I worked 4 hours in the morning. She stated she put the information into the system and and I would receive an afternoon appt. The morning of my appt. I was called 5 minutes after 8 am that the tech would be at my home between 9 am to 11 am. I had to immediately drive back home. This caused me to miss important meetings with my college students. When the tech arrived, he sat in my driveway for over 30 minutes while on his phone. I went out to get his attention 3 times, only to be ignored. Upon changing the motor, the tech informed me the supplier failed to give him the screws to connect the new motor and he would have to come back the next day. I asked if he could not get screws from the Home Depot a mile away and he said no. I went with NO ac for at least a week. I missed work numerous days and was hospitalised due to the heat.

It takes too long for them to get a technician. I've been without my AC ever since May 16, 2025, and the technician hasn't come to repair it yet. I had to pay $100.00 for an ARS technician to come out for a service check, because Choice Home Warranty couldn't find a technician. When they finally got a technician, he just came out for a service call. He came back out several days later, but only to do a test on the unit, which only took 5 minutes, then he left. Later on in the week, I messaged him and he called me several hours later and said that he would be out to repair it this week; week of June 2, 2025, but I haven't heard anything from him yet. I live in a mobile home and without the AC unit working, it's been very miserable!!! This is the 3rd time within a year that I've had these issues with the AC, but Choice Home Warranty always send out a technician who only "bandages" the system, but never totally repairs the problem. Then, to top it off, I still have to pay money. I'm seriously thinking about looking for another home warranty company, because this here is for the birds!!!

As with all the home warranties I’ve had in the past, they are quick to take the payments, however they have their rules and requirements in order to benefit from coverage. The plumbers they have been sending in the past 5 months, did not know anything on plumbing.! The very last plumber found what the problem was and reported it to CHW. On May 9, 2025. CHW contacted my husband and told him they have to decide if they are going to cover the problem. This plumbing issue has been going on since Dec 2024, to current. We can not use the bathroom at all for the past 5 months on June 9, 2025 it will be 6 months. We are having to use a bedside commode for solid waste.

I was surprised it took so long to get professionals assigned to my case. Then, the second professional made three appointments and never showed up and only canceled one of those three times. The first professional showed up and did good work. However, your warranty company denied payment for a part of a job that should’ve been covered. There were two issues with one toilet in the house. The claim for the bidet connection was denied, which I accepted. However, a completely unrelated claim for a malfunctioning fill unit inside the tank, was also denied, and it was completely unrelated to the bidet. It should’ve been paid. I had to pay out-of-pocket. That experience led me to believe that your organization is simply in existence to make as much money as possible, and not pay claims if you can find a way to dismiss them. I will not be renewing my policy. I’ve had better experiences with other companies in previous homes I’ve owned.

Haven't been happy with my service due to the denial of claims and reasons behind it. Also lack of communication during the claims. On your portal it will show claim is "completed" as soon as they schedule someone to come out but repairs usually take longer and not done in same visit so it should say progress vs complete. I am still waiting on a response after 3wks. I also was made aware that the amount they cover for some things is very minimal up to just $500 and not close to what the cost would actually be. Disappointed because I had heard good things and that's why I paid all cost up front. The claims that did get approved were quick but they were usually for minor things. When it came to bigger items there was more push back. For example I got stuck with a hole on my wall due to them sending their recommended repair guys and then deciding they wanted another company instead. Neither Choice nor the company could repair my hole even though it was their decision to change companies. Some of the customer service staff were very nice but also had ones that were condescending and rude so it's a mix in that area. Will be considering other companies in the future
