Most of the time, it has taken a while for Choice to find/assign a contractor (more than 24 hours). A few times, I have received an email from Choice with an appointment set, only to find out the named contractor was unaware of the appointment and either no-showed, or had a much later date set. If there is something pressing, there doesn’t seem to be a sense of urgency.

I started receiving up 8 sales calls per day to renew my contract in August 2025 before it expired in November 2025. Even though I informed Choice that I would not be renewing until I received the funds in the month just before my contract expired, and requested the sales calls stop, the calls continued anyway. When I renewed, the sales person told me he would be my account manager and he provided me his number. He also told me that the service fee would be discounted to $65 instead of $75, and that the $65 would show on my new contract. However, a few days after renewing I noticed that it was still $75. So I called the account manage and he told me to give time to update the system. In December 2025 I had to open a ticket for service and I noticed that the service fee was still $75. I called the account manager again but this time there was no answer and I did not have the option to leave a message. So I contacted customer support who connected me with the next level, and I was told that the fee could not be lowered because of increased cost. So at this point, either the account manager lied to me when he told me the service fee would be discounted to $65 or he was not fully informed. Neither is acceptable to me.

When I originally signed up with Choice, I paid $1500 with the understanding that everything was covered once the coverage became im force Well that was not the case. I ended up having to pay several hundred dollars for maintenance on my a/c / heater they covered a minimal amount. There were other issues that cropped up thar, again I had to pay more than I was given to expect when the warranty was sold. This last issue was handled correctly, and with minimal effort on my part. I still have very little confidence in Choice.

Your handling of this matter reflects a lack of professionalism and customer consideration. Attempting to repair the oven using a part sourced from eBay was unacceptable. Given that the stove was manufactured in 2006, the likelihood of obtaining a new, reliable replacement part through that channel was effectively nonexistent, resulting in a full week of unnecessary delay. After wasting valuable time on that approach, I was then presented with two unsatisfactory options: accept a Lowe’s gift card for immediate replacement or wait 30 days for a refund check. There is no reasonable justification for a 30-day delay to issue a check, and this explanation was neither clear nor credible. Overall, this experience has been unacceptable. The lack of urgency, poor decision-making, and inadequate customer service have left me extremely dissatisfied.

I was okay, until I had to place a claim. From this point everything went wrong. My washer broke down and I was told that I had to wait three to four weeks to get it replaced. ...My payment method had change and didn't make a payment in time,so after making the payment I was told I have to wait another 3 to 4 weeks, because they canceled sending the check. On top of that the amount to replace the washer was minimal.

I chose Choice Home warranty because my realtor suggested this company. I wish I would have checked reviews on line. After 4 days without heat (12 degrees outside) and multiple attempts for service thru your company, my problem was fixed because my realtor contacted the Choice Home sales rep who contacted someone in New Jersey. Of course I had already called a local technician because I was repeatedly told my claim was waiting for a vendor. My technician came and fixed the issue and I paid him over $500. He spoke with the Choice Home Warranty rep and explained the problem. She said ok to fix it and they would mail me a check in30 days. It should not have taken this long and an intervention by 3 different people to get heat back on in my house. I did file a report with the Ohio Attorney General’s office and they said your company will be registered with them. I just hope I see my check. You may want to go to Facebook and search Choice Home Warranty reviews to see just how awful your service is.

I purchased this warranty to have peace of mind, what I got was when something went wrong was not peace of mind. It took a week without a refrigerator before a tech even looked at it. My biggest complaint is the so called replacement. You didn't replace, I replaced. I had to go buy a new one, dispose of old. I bought a smaller fridge with less features which was $1600.00 and you reimbursed $818.00. You suggested Lowes which is 100 miles away, who doesn't deliver to me. Even if I used them, their cheapest fridge in the style I had would have been the same price of $1600, It also took 6 weeks to receive reimbursement. Now, with this said, is this what you would call peace of mind?

I placed a claim on my furnace on Nov. 11th. They sent someone from Fusion to inspect my furnace. They reported that there was an electrical surge that shorted out my thermostat and that I needed to replace it myself. I had my furnace looked at by someone that checks my furnace every year and he found nothing wrong with the thermostat. The thermostat would read only 66 degrees with the filter in and the furnace would not start. He pulled the filter out and and the furnace started running and the thermostat went up to 71 degrees. I had to run my furnace without a filter to get heat. I called Choice Home Warranty and told them what we found. They wanted me to send them what my technician found. I had a HVAC technician from Four Seasons inspect my furnace and he found a cracked heat exchanger my furnace. According to Illinois state law, when a HVAC finds a crack in the heat exchanger, they have to shut off the furnace to make sure carbon monoxide isn’t leaking from the furnace. The furnace had to be fixed or replaced before it could be run again. I had a second furnace with the same cracked heat exchanger so the technician from Four Seasons had to shut that furnace off too. This was at about 9:00 a.m. the morning of Dec. 16th. Since I couldn’t run either furnace with cracked heat exchangers and both furnaces were over 25 years old, I decided to replace both furnaces. Installers from Four Seasons came out about 1:30 p.m. the same day, Dec. 16th, to install two furnaces. On Dec. 17th I sent Choice Home Warranty a copy of the diagnosis that Four Seasons gave me and pictures of the cracks in the heat exchanger of the furnace that was covered by Choice Home Warranty. I heard from Choice Warranty on Dec 18th and was told that I should have sent them the diagnosis first and then had them send out someone to inspect the furnace. They said that since I didn’t do that, they couldn’t pay me any thing toward the purchase of my furnace covered by them. I live in Chicago where the temperature was very cold and my furnaces had been shut off since 9:00 a.m. on Dec. 16th. Therefore I felt it was an emergency and that I couldn’t wait until Choice sent someone out to recheck my furnace. I had to get furnaces running to get heat in both apartments in my two-flat building. I paid over $8,000 for each furnace. I didn’t expect them to pay the total $8,000 for the furnace covered by them but I expected them to pay something. Very disappointed since this was an emergency situation.

I chose them upon purchasing the home. First claim went ok with getting my stove repaired. Then I had a Freon leak on my AC coil. They wanted $6000 +or- to replace the complete system. I found the compatible air handler and got all repaired for $1400!! Lost faith!

Up until now, they have upheld the terms of the contract and took care of the issues that I had. Now I feel like I’m getting the run around. I paid for major appliance coverage. My refrigerator failed and they would not hold up their contract repair or replace with comparable features and capacity. They would not send me a replacement refrigerator. Instead they offered me $800 store credit at Lowe’s. I cannot get a full sized refrigerator with ice and water in the door for less than $1000. They agreed to send me a check for $818 and said it would take 30 days to receive it. I’m still waiting 2 months later.
