My Refridgerator goes out and three days later they assign a tech to come out in 8 days! Does CHOICE know what happens to perishable food in 11+ days without cooling? Incredibly I bought a 5-year plan for 2 homes, And get this type of help? They even insulted me with an email saying "we are having trouble locating a refrigerator repair facility. . ." W H A T ? ? ? In the entire city of Las Vegas???

The service level was so poor and unsatisfactory I had to cancel Choice home warranty on both of my homes. I have been a good paying customer for years and when I finally needed service Choice Home Wty failed at every level. I live in Arizona, my AC went out, I filed a claim, after 48 hours no one had responded so I got a notigication to find my own resource, I did, they came out immediately and fixed my AC, I filed the claim to be reimbursed and was told by Aaron S. my case manager I did not follow the procedures of the contract and my claim was denied, He would have had the contractor write up an assessment and submit it for a review that can take days and then approve or not. My guy fixed it on the spot...Arizona in the Summer has extreme heat and Choice wanted me to live without AC for days on end. And when the case manager spoke with me he was non empathetic, rude, adn unwilling to do anything to recognize me as a valued client. I had just renewed both of my homes on June 25th and given all the circumstances I cancelled my services and he would not even waive the $50 / home cancellation fee "per the contract". I have to take better care of my clients than the way Choice chose not to take care of me so I fired Choice and cannot wait to tell the world this same story. Buyer beware! Coice is glad to take your money but forget the service and any human element...the entire experience was terrible.

They never cover any AC issue stating that the unit has to be maintained according to the manufacturer’s warranty. (I.e. cleaned annually) It’s cleaned annually by my maintenance man but they don’t accept that because he is not a icensed AC tech. He cleans the coils yearly regardless.

The most irresponsible company I have ever dealt with. Find any possible excuse for not fixing your appliances. Refused to fix my refrigerator stating it was a power surge, when in deed I have protection from the electric company Surge Shield FPL … the technician just assumed I t was a power surge.. and made a statement in his work order… and Choice refused to fix it. Called and had a conversation with a very rude manager… and stated Choice can not fix our fridge because they have to go by what the technician writes on the order because they don’t want to underestimate the technician. They offered me $300.00 to fix my fridge…that’s not going to get me anywhere. Very unprofessional and sneaky. I even called LG and I was told by them that the fridge has a power fuse that prevents power surges. Mrs. Toni T. manager for Choice refused to help me in this situation. I’ve been with a fridge for more than a week… she offered $300, like if that is going to work. I’ll be placing a formal complaint against Choice with the consumer protection division of the attorney general of Florida if this situation is not fixed . Very friendly when they sell you the home warranty insurance, but when it comes to fixing your appliances it’s a headache. Case 245847795. I asked her for her email and She told me she couldn’t give me that information. It’s irritating to think that these companies take your money on a monthly basis but when it comes to deliver they refuse to do so. The technician didn’t even check the refrigerator… he just assumed! Horrible company! DONT waste your money! No peace of mind with this company!!!

They took my money and gave nothing back in return... For three weeks I tried to get them to fix my AC Unit and for three weeks they did nothing but drag their feet in the middle of summer at 120 degree heat... I decided to finally cancel my warranty and get it done myself... Choice Home Warranty called me back and asked why? I said, "If you look at your computer screen can you name one thing you have done to help me with my AC Unit in the past three weeks in the middle of this brutal summer?" They said "No" and asked for another chance... I said, "I can't, there are lives at stake." I didn't even get once cent of reimbursement back either... It's your life and your money... I hope you can learn from my mistake...

The cable cord and the water hose broke/leaking on my dishwasher. The repair person submitted my claim and Choice refused to pay for the repair service. Choice said a worn out cable cord and a worn out water hose were no covered. So does that mean I have to have a motor repair or the dishwasher replaced in order to get my dishwasher repaired by Choice? What is covered by Choice for dishwashers ? If you are a customer of Choice and have a repair, please check to make sure it is covered. The technician was very kind and helpful. He ordered the parts and returned to fix my dishwasher. If it had not been for the technician, I would have been out of $85 for the service fee. Oh, i told the claims person for Choice at the time I submitted the claim what the problem was. They could have told me that at the beginning

If I could give zero stars I would..... I have paid for a warranty and was promised how wonderful the company is.... well read the fine print, but also know that they will do everything to not be fair and let you argue with people who can do nothing and they refuse to ever allow you to speak to anyone with any ability to help you.... your only answer is to write a letter or report to BBB which also did very little. My washer was a high end large capacity, they wouldn't fix it because wasn't financially to their benefit so instead they tried to tell me 350.00 would replace it, they finally came up to 549.00 and said that is what they could find it for. When I asked where, they said they couldn't tell me or give me any info.... so basically an imaginary place selling imaginary machines. I went to 7 stores, including scratch and dent and returns and found a comparable machine for 899.00 and they were kind enough to offer free delivery.... when I said this is what I bought the form answer was "we don't pay for delivery" that's our max is 549.00.... this was the constant answer. So no way will I continue with them and will in no way tell you to use them.... there are far better companies with people who do not scam you..... they are being sued and have numerous BBB complaints.

I contacted Choice Home Warranty because my Air Condition Unit stop working. They sent someone here and he said the HVAC needed to be fix. I paid over $3,000 to have y’all replace the HVAC for my AC to work and the contractor y’all sent never even looked at the AC. Now y’all telling me I have to com out of pocket again with another $3000 to replace the AC when I told y’all the AC is not working. Why am I paying for a home warranty and you all are making me put out all this money and I still do not have my AC fix. I will be contacting a lawyer because this is not what I purchased a home warranty for. Now, I have other contractors coming out to give me an estimate. You all do not live up to your contract. I have used Choice twice in the last year without any payment. Last year I had a hot water heater leaking. They scheduled someone in a week…would not do it quicker. I had to pay for and call someone to install a new heater since my finished basement was getting flooded. No reimbursement. Last month my air conditioner would not work (in the 90’s). Choice could not send anyone for a week so I hired someone to fix it. They sent in the diagnosis, etc, but I still did not get reimbursed. Choice was “useless”.

Actually minus 209+ Never dealt with a company that could be worse Paid 64.08 for two years and in June 2 2024 needed for first time Living in the Hot Texas heat list air conditioner and they could not find anyone to coke out Went a week with a house 89 and higher and still no service They said use my own but take complete pictures of everything done and if by example there was three leaks had to have picture of each I am a disabled 77 yr old widow living alone ( the reason i pd for service out of my 1652 social security check) I called and had it fixed and after another week Choice still unable to find anyone and I cancelled before next withdrawal. I made a request 3weeks ago… air conditioner not working. HAVAC company they sent to me determined I needed a new air conditioner. Choice let me know I had to pay them over $1400.00 for uncovered charges and lil over $1200.00 to the person who will be installing the air conditioner. Choice has been paid via my charge card. I’m still waiting for installation of air conditioner, I can’t get any answers for the delay. Choice keeps telling me it’s on the way. I have since learned that Choice and the HAVAC company are in disagreement… they want more money. I’m caught in the middle of something I have nothing to do with. We,re in a heat wave, I’m 82 years old and have numerous health issues. Livin* in my house with no air these past three weeks has depleted me…I also have two dogs… they’re panting! Does Choice care…NO! Every day I’m talking to different “CASE MANAGER” ..for F/U… when I ask to speak to a MANAGER, I’m told “ I’m a case manager “… I told them that’s just a glorified name for “Customer Service person” Somebody somewhere has to care about all that I’m having to endure… we’re in a heat wave, I got ceiling fans and floor fans running 24 hours a day….Yesterday Choice sends me msg “ They’re sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate my patience “ as they work on securing me the best available technician!WOW… can you believe that… First … this is not an INCONVENIENCE, this is total disrespect… uncaring, disregard,… letting me go thru all that I have endured these past weeks…”WE’RE IN A HEATWAVE” …no one called to see how I was doing, to get a portable air conditioner to me while waiting… I had to purchase fans etc to get some kinda relief for me and my dogs. MY HEALTH HAS BEEN COMPROMISED!! THEY Have set an appointment for me with a new HVAC company! No one called to tell me that’s what they were going to do. I’m so tired! And don’t feel well! I still don’t know WHY!! WHY ME! My age..82, MY gender..female…MY race..Negro.. I JOINED CHOICE AYEAR AGO after reading what they said about themselves..THEY are #1 In Home Warranty “ OH NO!!! I am completely frustrate with Choice Home Warranty at this point. I am having all kinds of issues getting the information for reimbursement. This is caused by the fact that CHW couldn't find a contractor to do the work. Now, it's a nightmare. I also can't get the authorization team to authorize work that needs to be done on my AC unit. I will likely have to pay out of pocket to get this work done, which kind of nullifies the reason to have a home warranty company, doesn't it?

I made a terrible mistake when I purchased a home warranty from Choice! I had used another home warranty but fell for the BS that Choice Home Warranty was hawking. I used Choice for a couple of small problems but when by refrigerator quit Choice left me high and dry! It was like pulling teeth to get anyone to even come and look at the refrigerator and then when they did Choice would only cover the compressor, which supposedly cost $895, and I was to cover the other parts required for another $695. All this was to repair 17 year old refrigerator. I requested that CHW replace the refrigerator, but they refused! I then requested they send me a check for the amount they were going to pay for the compressor, and I would go purchase another refrigerator myself. Again, they refused saying they would only pay the repairman that diagnosed my old one. All this took place on June 20, 2024 and CHW has never called again to follow up. My contract states CHW would repair, replace or make an offer in lieu of to settle my claim. They have done nothing. I will not be renewing my contract with CHW! I would hope other potential customers read this review and elect to look seriously at purchasing a home warranty from basically any other home warranty company! The lowest rating I am able to give Choice Home Warranty is one star which is far better than they deserve!

As long as you are getting a repair they are Johnny on the spot. When it comes to a replacement it becomes a waiting game. And when you get in touch with them for any kind of update they must be located in another country. I've been charged out of pocket fees for parts but can't any info about when they will arrive let alone installed. No air in the middle of the heat with a warranty I have barely used over the years. 1. Contract say tech would be assigned 24-48 hours after 480 hours with no tech assigned we were finally told to get our own meaning no kitchen drain. 2. Our tech estimate was $240 including service call which was $95. Based on our contract service call was our responsibility $240-$95= $145 CHW agreed with estimate gave go ahead our reimbursement according to contract should have been $145. They only gave us $80.00. 3. Apparently they deducted the $95.00 service call + an additional $65 so we paid 2 service calls 4. Once this was discovered we called and was rudely told that’s what you get 5. This was our second request for service from CHW they were unable to get a technician for a heating problem after 2weeks told to get our own we did they only reimbursed $1400 of a $2600 bill saying they didn’t authorize a needed part. 6. Unfortunately I purchased a 3 year plan and have an additional 14 months remaining. Speaking to both service techs both highly qualified local both said most people don’t like to work with CHW to difficult to deal with they want you to use after market replacements parts which are cheaper but tech said they wouldn’t guarantee work with aftermarket parts they didn’t want to even talk to them over the phone. 7. I am now hopefull that we do not need another claim in the next 14 months. 8. When asking for a refund contract language says any claims compensated for will be deducted from any refund highly unusual for insurance claims. 8. I waited for my $80.00 refund before writing this review which I did receive. 9. We had a problem with our heat pump took them over Two weeks to find a tech who traveled over 70 miles to get here. He did a good job. That was a $650 claim and other than the delay in getting here the process was seem less as per contract 10.Buyer be ware not so amazing 10. Both plumber and heating and air conditioning tech did a good job

When the service man came he said I had a short he had to get authorization that took four days repair should be done and authorizations should be giving right while the man is at the job. Five weeks later my air condition was still not fixed. It took them two weeks to give me authorization for Thermostat and they wanted $275 for it because they said it wasn’t what they approved. The girl never told me about the approval one again did not put the thermostat in and now we said it was a fan motor because I told him numerous times the fanblades were not going around when the unit clicked on after 5 1/2 weeks of a runaround I canceled your system is horrible and I would not recommend you to anybody authorization should be done right on the job after 5 1/2 weeks it was a waste of my time and energy Pat

The company will definitely come through on smaller claims but their terms has so many exclusions. They denied both of my claims for my septic/ plumbing issues which had our whole system blocked and down for the weekend. Both claims were not even clear as to why they were denied something about not normal wear and tear. How does that ever pertain to a plumbing issue?

Most of the time when I submit a claim, it is denied, erroneously claiming that there was abuse or misuse of the product or system that is difficult to fix. Then, they agree to fix it if I pay more money. This happens with every plumbing issue. They will not fix a toilet flap that simply needs a new chain. They will not replace faucets that are not misused or abused but just fail over time. (unless I pay $300. They will not fix the dryer that simply needs a $100 part claiming that there was abuse and misuse. They would not replace the garbage disposal unless I paid $95. I WILL NOT RENEW WITH THIS COMPANY - IT IS HORRIBLE!

They so easily take your money but when you have a serious issue, Choice Home Warranty want to hide behind their legality and loopholes not to cover your claim unless you pay a huge amount out of pocket. They're a borderline scammer company deceiving their customers. How can the Better Business Bureau or any American entity allowed this company to exist is unbelievable. If everyone reading this survey decides to eliminate and terminate their Choice Home Warranty, I promise they will change the unscrupulous ways. Be the majority and get rid of Choice Home Warranty.

I’m 9 months in to the agreement. My Water Heater went out and I filed a claim. A plumber came out assessed the issue and said he would send me a proposal. Half hour goes by, and I received an email with the proposal outlining the work needed. $1785.00 Total. I almost fell out of my chair. That is insanity! I called the Choice Home Warranty rep and he was out on vacation. I left him a voice mail and followed up with an email to him. Three weeks later , I have still not heard back from him. Having been in Sales for over 45 years , I am concerned and completely disgusted on the new sales strategies and techniques these Sales Teams are using. I am done with Choice Home Warranty forever. I will cancel my subscription in September and go with a reputable company that will provide better communication service. Sad for the company that teaches their reps to be so non responsive for such huge issues.

The prices seem to continue to go up a lot. Our deductible went up double what it was the year before. We have had our AC unit looked at twice. Communication is pretty bad. Last year I spoke with some extremely rude employees when I was in the process of renewing my warranty and asking questions.

I can never get hold of a supervisor. I have had 3 phone appointments canceled. My HAVC has been insured for over a year. Choice sent one vendor out who changed out the thermostats. Then came back for a part number. In your web site it said when platium connected the new thermostats it blew out the transmitter. Then choice sends out the second vendor telling me they need to send out a second vendor because it the air conditioner, when I pointed out it’s a heat pump, I am told it’s for a second opinion. I paid both vendors 65.00. The tru cones out for a second time for a part number, then I am told it’s not covered due to a power surge. I own several units in the building which you cover and no power surges. I have 3 appointments where when I answer choice hangs up. Then I finally get Mary M. are she over talks me and interrupts me and just says it’s now a power surge, ignore the report from platium repair, will not let me talk to a supervisor. Then today o have another appointment which after the time, I get a message saying it was canceled. I have 10 polices and not one has been covered. This is the worse company I have ever seen and no one will call me back or explain how their vendor admits they shorted out the u it and it still isn’t covered.

Choice warranty is the worst company I've ever dealt with. Every claim submitted was denied because of some loophole. Claims were scheduled for repairs that were stated as covered but then when technician comes the company doesn't have coverage for that. Why schedule a tech and cost me a service call fee then? The things that we're covered for claims only provided at best a quarter of the repair cost. Every technician that came to do a repair stated that their company hated dealing with Choice because they never cover anything and leave customers angry with them. They also said more and more company's won't deal with Choice because they take forever to pay them. Switched to another Home warranty company that several technicians had recommended and couldn't be happier.

Takes 1-2 weeks for first appointment and then another 1-2 weeks to get something fixed. Contractors will do no show no calls. When you ask for a different company due to 5 no show no call appointment the contractor will threaten you for this and demand to be allowed to take parts form the machine. Choice response is to let them in to your home and we will probably replace it. I called to cancel my contract and emailed a while ago with no response. They refuse to acknowledge when you want to cancel due to threats from people they send to your home. Do not use this company. It is a scam the contractors will also charge more than the 60$ your supposed to pay… so breach of contract there. Please cancel my contract.

What I liked was the follow through with a much older person. I was good to have someone there to pick up the missed part that my fingers or eyes missed.
