Unfortunately cannot give a half a star. Filed a claim for a washing machine that is not working 15 April and it is 16 May and it is still not fixed. The vendor who is supposed to fix it is not answering the phone for the customer or the company and Choice Home Warranty will not authorize another vendor to repair it. Piss poor customer service. Would not recommend this company to anyone.

CHW has denied several claims of mine, uses poor quality technicians, turnaround time is 1 to 2 weeks. I had a leaking pipe, CHW, could not find a plumber in two months, so when I hired my own, they would not reimburse me due to a technicality. Also, they gave me $1000 for a refrigerator they said could not be fixed, a new one cost $10,000. They also gave me $400 for a above range, microwave with hood, fan and light, but the replacement cost above $1500.

I had a recent problem with my clothes washing, and Choice sent a technician to the house. He diagnosed the problem properly and then they sent the parts to the house, but they said there was a cover that didn't come with it, so they couldn't come out and fix the machine. The cover was sent 3 weeks later, so they left me hanging for 3 weeks with no clothes washer.

Our furnace was not working and we called in and Choice said they'd be like 18 days or something before they get someone out. Which obviously is not acceptable when you don't have any heat in the winter.

They do not honor their warranty. Repair and after 3 months wanted to repair again rather than replace furnace that technician recommended replacing. Carbon monoxide was seeping into our home due to the furnace condition. Choice Case Manager stated that was not their concern, and the part would have to be replaced again and then see what happens. No concern for my family's safety. Worst customer service ever. Paid for coverage for seven years and the first time a replacement is recommended they push back. Awful!

Choice Home Warranty is good as long as you can use their contractor to correct the problem you have in your home. If you try to use your own contractor such as a plumber forget about the insurance paying for it.

The contractor assigned to our HVAC claims provide incorrect and incomplete information to Choice which resulted in a delay in resolving the issues which resulted in us going with another vendor to service our FAILED HVAC system at our cost. We did not renew with Choice because of this incident

Waiting 4 to 5 days for an electrician is unacceptable! I think you need more than one company of each trade, so one company does not hog up all the services and have to wait for them to have time for the service!

I have to work and we would set a time, call me 30 minutes before, and then they said we were at your house, you weren't there. Nobody contacted me to be there, and that happened a couple of times. I had a brand new refrigerator that went out and it took 4 months without a refrigerator before they came out here and fixed it. They came out once, the parts were back-ordered, blah blah blah. Then when they finally came in 2 months later, they were damaged, so I had to go almost 4 months or more without a refrigerator.

My refrigerator was leaking. CHW sent a tech. Tech ordered parts. Parts took 2 months to arrive. Tech called to say parts had arrived but CHW had closed the claim. Tried to explain situation to several CHW phone people to no avail. I had to pay ANOTHER service fee I guess as punishment for waiting for first tech to receive parts. (Both techs were professional and thorough)

I've had to call 3 times and they had sent the wrong person out to my home for the service that needed to be conducted. I had a plumber for a roof leak, and he came because he thought that there was something in the attic, like an air conditioning unit that was leaking. So the call center needs to get people that know what they're doing when they translate over to whoever is going to send out someone for that. That call cost me $75 for him to tell me he doesn't do roofs.
