Submitted two claims. One has been handled but the other one had to do with gas smell. First company refused to work with warranty and I wasn't notified by warranty company on why they hadn't showed up so I called servicer company and they said they notified you they would not be doing claim. A week later still no word on service so I just called local company to figure out gas smell and paid out of my pocket. I look at this as a failure for Choice Warranty and as a real estate agent I would not refer you.

The proper and most efficient fittings for repairing the plumbing leak were denied by Choice. I was quite disappointed a second rate method of repair was all CHW would approve. I paid the difference and this was after I had already paid the cost of a new water heater despite it being 18 years old and no longer acceptable to homeowner insurance carriers. I am searching for a different home warranty provider.

It's 2 stars this time because they were unable to find a company to fix my gas leak. They say they have over 12,000 or something like that companies but I couldn't get this done. The other jobs that needed repair at my house was done within a manner of days. I am just sooo disappointed, but I hope and pray that the reimbursement process goes through.

Didn't appreciate the extra $160 for the service. Apparently, your company considered industry safety standards to be a "modification." Position taken was in the best interest of CHW. That broad language in the agreement was a handy loophole.

I had to file a claim for an ac repair. Due to the age of the unit it has to be completely replaced. Choice refused to cover the cost of the replacement and will not refund the money I paid for the warranty either. The company Choice sent said the replacement is strictly due to the fact that the parts for the unit aren't made anymore, but Choice claimed it was due to lack of maintenance on my part - which the technician said is NOT the case! I filed an appeal but was told their experts (in the appeals dept) "know what they are talking about". I have since had another company come out that agrred with the first tech - its not lack of maintenance, but the parts cant even be ordered anymore. I have filed a complaint with the state and contacted my local news. Would give zero stars if it were a possibility. DO NOT purchase a home warranty from Choice. It is a waste of money.

They still did not reimburse my $2,400 from last March 2023 for my hot water heater. They never fixed it! Have not heard back from the letter and back up I sent Certified last week to Jim Mostofi, CEO last week . Had to get my own plumber.

I much prefer filing claims on the website. The few times I had to call their customer service people had no sense of urgency to get the problem resolved. Once they assign a company/tech to your repair, they are very slow to respond, and communication is poor. Every time I have filed a claim it has taken a week or more and on more than one occasion the tech just showed up out of the blue. Luckily, I just happened to be home sick that day from work.

You guys are terrible as a company. I am starting to believe others, friends, neighbors, and loved ones that Choice Home Warranty is a scam, a horrible company. to be a customer with and that you scam and lie to get out of covering what is stated in your policy. Well I have to believe them. I had your company send someone to my home when I made complaints about the furnace/ac unit not working properly and the heat not heating the upstairs properly. Your company sent someone in an unmarked vehicle that only had a screwdriver with him. He looked at the unit and found minor things that a 2nd grader would find. When I call is company back to find out the findings they answered as a house cleaning company. A HOUSE CLEANING COMPANY! Yes you read that right that it was A HOUSE CLEANING COMPANY! I had 3 different HVAC companies and each one said that there was an issue with my system and with my duct work. I had to hire a company to repair, replace and install new duct work, vents and returns. This is coming out of my pockets, I am going to contact my lawyers and take legal actions against your company. I will show them my policy, what is supposed to be covered under the policy that I am paying for each year. You pulled a scam and now you are costing me more money. I am disabled and may even contact the American Disability Act to tell them what you are pulling on disabled people and most like senior citizens. would don't know better and trusted your company.

I've had mixed experiences with the service. Recently, they quickly sent a plumber to fix my leaking washer at no extra cost, which was great. However, in the past, I've faced issues with my HVAC unit not being covered and a long delay with an ice maker repair that left me frustrated and without a resolution. Overall, timely help but some past disappointments.

I have paid for my policy for almost 2 years or more. I went with Chioce because you covered Hot Tubs. First, the first company never showed up for the appointment and stated they had let the Choice know many times they don't service hot tubs. The second company came out once, but never returned calls and never came out. The third and latest, Gimenez Pool Services, came out and said they can't work on it until it is determined if the issue is in the breaker or the spa. I contacted an electrician to check that and he did a full diagnostic on the spa. He told Gimenez what was needed, but I still had to pay Gimenez the $85 when someone else (that I also had to pay) did the diagnostic. And now you're telling me the thing isn't covered!?!? What the heck!! I will be canceling my contract pronto.

Customer Service is terrible. Took 4 months to fix my refrigerator. Replaced a water heater at full price when I could have had it done sooner by contacting a local service and having them do the work. Your Company has gone from good to terrible. No willingness to help the Customer. I would not recommend to anyone and will not renew my contract. On top of that, if you talk to Customer Service, you get the run around when trying to talk to a Manager, there is no one available and on top of that no return calls, no follow up. The only thing you guys care about is signing up a Customer for a new contact and then you do nothing to honor your contract. Worst program ever. I know I won’t hear from anyone, but whoever manages your Sales and Customer Service should get involved and rebuild your reputation or be fired!!!

1.The service was slow (take some time to find the right contractor) and we forced to pay twice we were supposed to pay due to that. 2.They are only responsible for the builder's grade parts. Therefore you will see your systems are downgrading. 3.Their response system automatically and by default passes the job and the follow up to your side as far as it can. 4.You need to follow up yourself, otherwise not enough care is offered. BYW, I experienced that in some occasions they respond by phone promptly, which was a good sign but not enough. One must expect that CHW resolve the problem with slowness and to the minimum.

The company is pathetic. I've been denied a couple claims already. The latest is a simple straightforward request to repair a ceiling fan/wiring issue (the unit just stopped working) I asked for about mid-December. They asked us, MANY times, to replace the remote; the electrician and I told them over and over the remote was working. When they finally were convinced, they then denied the claim for another stupid reason that didn't make sense. This is weeks into the process, now. I appealed and the officer okayed payment for about 1/3 of the estimated cost. HOWEVER, the electrician won't move forward with my job UNTIL he's paid by Choice got at least 2 other jobs he's had with them, completed since early January! THEY just wont pay him. They told him about 1 1/2 weeks ago he'd be "paid by Friday". That was over a week ago and nothing. In the meantime, my project isn't done. He and I have both contacted them MULTIPLE times. Everyone blames the Vendor Group who handles payment, and it's nearly impossible to talk to a live person there. The appeals officer has been nice BUT he still hasn't move anything forward. Disgusting. I will NEVER, EVER recommend this company. DON'T PURCHASE A HOME WARRANTY FROM CHOICE!

We've had to use it twice. Nothing actually gets fixed the same day Everything has to be pre-approved and the service guys are sitting out in the truck for 20 minutes waiting and they finally just text me and say it's going to be a few hours at the least, then they come back a week later, so nothing gets done that day. With Choice, everything has to be preauthorized, apparently.

The customer service is just not good. They just give me the same line over and over again. I asked to speak to a supervisor several times, and they promised, but it never happened. I had no hot water and it took just about a week to get it resolved. I had to be the middleman between Choice and the plumber. They were saying one thing, the plumber saying another thing, this is just a nightmare. The overall process is just awful.

My light fixture is still not fixed. Electrician first showed up on January 22 and diagnosed the problem as a bad transformer. Choice approved the repair and electrician ordered the part and returned January 30 to replace the transformer but it was the wrong size. Electrician reordered the correct size and returned on February 6 to install the new part. The new transformer did not fix the problem and the electrician determined the problem was the light socket which requires replacement of the entire light fixture. Electrician said he needed to obtain approval from Choice to replace the light fixture. Contacted the Electrician on February 14 for an update and was told he was still awaiting approval from Choice.

I would think twice about this company. When I had service on my clothes washer, it was totalled and had to be replaced. They conveniently thought I had a top load washer so they could give me 200 dollars less. When I called them, they adjusted it. In the case where the appliance needs to be replaced, they give you an e-card from Lowe's, so your are forced to buy from Lowe's and you will not get the e-card for at least 25 days. For appliances, it's best to get the extended warranty because their plan sucks when it comes to replacement.

I am new to Choice HW after being frustrated with American Home Shield. Unfortunately, my experience is worse. I called about my oven and a technician came a a couple of days later on January 29th and said it needed a new igniter. However, the appointment for fixing the oven was set at February 9th, almost two weeks later. After a long wait, Zach's Appliance Repair in Oceanside was supposed to come between 11 and 3 PM. I tried to get an earlier appointment but was met with no call backs and full email boxes. On the day of the appointment, no one showed all day long. Attempts to let Zach's know by phone, text and email were in vain. Now two more working days later (February 13) no one has yet called to explain their absence or set up a new appointment. To boot, I had to pay $85 for the upcoming service in advance but nothing has been done. I truly do not understand why the service is so awful. I don't know if this complaint will be quickly heard by CHoice, so I plan on calling them tomorrow.

The replacement cost offered for oven that had obsolete parts was first $89, then $800, then $1080. I was told that was thee best I could get and I could not talk to anyone higher up., so I accepted that payment. The exact replacement for my oven at Lowe’s on sale is $2400 from $4400., so I am out almost $1300. When I called to cancel, I got a new person; supervisor, who could no longer add to my payment because I accepted the $1080.

There have been times I was asked to find a company to service the issue since they were having difficulties in my area. The day I claimed my claim was 3 weeks ago. Today is 3 weeks, and still, they are just going back and forth between them and the technician who is supposed to fix the problem. There is a group that authorizes the technician to go ahead and fix the problem. That group doesn't authorize the work. The whole process is very bad. They are allocated technicians, but the technician doesn't have a permit to fix the problem. He has to do every step of the areas to get permission from them. To cut the hole in the wall, they get permission from them. How do you diagnose the problem? There's a leak behind the wall, you cut the hole in the wall to see the leak, right? They were, but they didn't have permission to cut it.

The first claim I had was a leaky pipe in 2023. I put a claim in, no vendor was assigned. Tried calling numerous times and the phone would eventually disconnect. Did receive responses via email. But was always you were looking for a vendor to assign it to. Ended up getting a response for me to find my own plumber and submit a claim. No thanks. Not going with Choice again.

The reason for only three stars is that the customer is not told up front that installation on an appliance is NOT covered. In most cases this is a considerable amount of out of pocket cost in addition to a prorated amount for the actual cost of the appliance. Some peace of mind but still a large amount to be paying but the customer.
