They tried to deny every claim before they even have the full information on what it's about. I called them on an air conditioner just a few months ago, and they came out and they inspected the unit and they said the unit was under warranty. Well, what was under warranty was the part. The part was covered, but not the labor to put it in. They said because the part was warrantied they would not provide the labor. So I kept complaining. I took a little further than just with Choice and they eventually said we made a mistake, we will cover it. So they sent their servicemen out. And when he was out, he said Choice will pay to have the compressor replaced but I will not put just the compressor in unless you do A B and C, also at your cost to guarantee that the compressor will work for more than a short while. So I had to pay nearly $700 out of my pocket regardless, even when Choice said they would pay for the labor because the serviceman they sent out said this had to be done. Unless you're willing to spend a lot of time arguing about a claim, I would find another company to have your home warranty with.

I had difficulty getting help for last hot water heater problem. CHW could find no repair company to handle and I had to find my own.Finally found one that would send diagnosis to CHW and CHW did pay for about 1/3 of cost for new heater.

I have 2 experiences with claims that were reported by a service tech regarding my AC and furnace. These issues seem to be major but when your techs came out they said there were no issues. I am concerned because I am not an expert but one company is saying something is wrong and your techs says everything is OK. Who do I believe?

Two significant negatives drive the low review. The pay off on claims is very low; our claims have been paid at about 50-60% of replacement cost. The contract fine print buried on a back page is insulting. also, your processes are slow. No customer should ever anticipate that your coverage will help in an emergency. Quickest claim and settlement is 2-3 weeks.

March of this year I submitted two claims 1. Freezer drawer problem with seal. 2. Ceiling fans ball bearings causing oil burning smells with noise .Paid twice my money to technician s . Never got repaired or replaced on fans and can't turn on due to fire hazard. Finally tomorrow my freezer drawer is being repaired after third time of placing complaint..and getting a new repair company.

We have gotten such a run around with fixing our 22 year old dryer with trying to jfind parts. This will be the second repairman coming out to verify these are the parts that are needed mean while we've had the hassle of drying clothes all over the house and driving them over to my daughter's house 20 miles away.so how do I rate this plan terrible. I do thank you for the expert care on the washer and hot water tank repair but the dryer I feel I'm getting the run around

Do not use this company! They assign technicians who are inept, the first technician took a month to get back to me and the part he replaced did not fix the machine. He left in a huff. I requested a new technician who took almost 2 weeks to come and diagnose the problem. He estimated the amount of repair which turned out to be more than Choice wanted to pay. Choice would only replace the machine but would only pay wholesale for the replacement which was $343 for an LG washer. Plus the do not pay for removal of the old and delivery of the new, nor any installation fee. I highly recommend American Shield Home Warranty. I have had them in the past. They replaced my stove and water heater at no charges to me.

My washing machine broke so I called them. It was either on a Friday or on Monday. I didn't hear back until Thursday, I heard that somebody would be here on Friday. He came. He was very nice. Found two parts that were broken. Good reliable company.

They didn't get back to me very quickly. I needed to use my warranty for air conditioning for my mother who's 89 years old. They didn't get back to me for several hours and then told me it'd be several days before they could get anybody there and I couldn't wait, so I had to pay somebody else to do it.

I had to use my warranty for my AC, and they called the company in. The company came, the technician said I needed a part for my AC. He did not write it up, he did not turn any into the company, and then the company denied that I needed to part, so I didn't get the part for my AC. So I was very dissatisfied with that.

Customer support is nearly impossible. The website doesn't function. You cannot get on it to even file a claim, track a claim, look at a claim. The phone system that you call in, no matter what number you call, you start at the very basic level, meaning new, new, new claims. Even though I've been given specific numbers to reach certain departments like resolutions or case manager, it always starts at the bottom of the new claims. I've also given a direct number to a supervisor, a case manager with an extension which is impossible to access. It's literally a corrupt system, forcing people to become so frustrated that they simply give up, which I will not give up.

I have experienced submitting a service request for my pool and had an initial assessment and the tech never came back (this is after it took 2 weeks for them to find a tech).They shouldn't offer and chaged for services they can't provide. They did a good job with the AC service order though. So its a 3.

Never received contract. Had dishwasher problem and Choice Home Warranty claimed it would need to be replaced and wanted us to accept $249.00 for a dishwasher we paid $450.00 . We requested to speak with litigation supervisor and we still haven't received a response to our request. Dishwasher wasn't the problem, it was a broken wire (electrical issue)

i had an ac issue, i called and schedule an appointment, the first time the guy didn't show up, we rescheduled. First off the guy came in a 2002 honda accord. no ladder. looking like a truck driver with big head set on. It took 20 mins and told me that I needed to reset the system. and he would have to come back. I told them he didn't have a clue what to do. and send someone else. so the reschedule another tech. They didn't show up, so i called them and said they are 30 mins out, and still didn't show up. So they finally send a real ac person and in 15 mins found the issue. which i had a coil leak, so he put in the ticket and they refused to pay for it. They told the tech to just refill with freon and if it happens again just call back. That made no sense to me. I will never recommend choice to anyone. that's a joke. Why not fix the issue???

I have been very unhappy with Choice Home warranty. Every experience I have had with them has been negative. First the heat in my house wasn't working. After 2 different technicians were not able to fix the problem I had to hire someone on my own. Choice Home Warranty refused to pay because I hired someone as I needed heat....two weeks had already gone by. In addition, they claimed it was a maintenance issue when it was a broken pressure valve preventing the heat from going to the upstairs of my home. Then I had a leak under the kitchen sink. After waiting and having the company no show me twice they finally came to fix it. The apparently came over and hour away to fix the problem and didn't want to leave and come back again. They submitted the claim and we had to wait over an hour for it to be approved and fixed. If the technician wasn't kind enough to wait such a long time the leak under my sink would have to wait several more days to come back and fix it. I initially called on a Monday and it took til Thursday to come to my home and I would have had to wait until the following monday or tuesday to finally fix it while the water continued to drip under my sink causing damage to the cabinets etc. I have been very unhappy with choice home warranty. I was looking for a company to help reduce the stress of home repairs for this sort of thing and have found choice home warranty to add both expense and stress and make it more difficult to get my items fixed. I would like my money back and find another company that could help with home repairs.

Only had one experience with them for a leaky valve on the toilet. They wanted the plumber to explain his procedure to repair or replace it but he wouldn't do it. Lucky for me, he fixed it for free. Hate to see what happens with a major problem.

Choice Warranty is the worst Home Warranty Company out here. I had 3 claims to repair a furnave and second a wall oven. 1. Choice sent a rep out to check my furnace which gave wrong information and I had to get an outside contractor to repair and I paid Choice a service fee. 2. My wall ovens needed repair the company set up appointments for 2 companies that did not show up, then after the fact requested that I find one on my own. What did I pay your company for to do research on my own. I would not recommend them to repair a dog house. I had to give one star as it would not let me not give NO stars that I wish to grade. Horrible company

Choice lied on a claim I had for a dishwasher repair. They said the technician told them the tub was cracked which is not normal wear and tear, therefore is not covered under warranty. I had two technicians assigned to the repair and neither one reported this to be the problem. The tub was not draining. First technician replaced all parts for draining, and it still did not fix problem. They told me on the report to Choice they stated can not repair dishwasher. The second technician wrote on report they refused to repair dishwasher. Second technician assigned to claim was not even a reputable company. There is no such company anywhere on the internet and they only had a cell phone. Vehicle had no name, they did not leave a business card or invoice. They came to my house and after I told them about the first technician repairs, they left my house stating they do not work after another service. He did not even look at my dishwasher. So Choice LIED on the report saying technicians told them the tub was cracked. I asked both technicians if they told Choice my tub was cracked. and they said NO. Shady business practices to get out of replacing my dishwasher. Choice already paid first technician for all the parts and attempting to repair, so they LIED in order to avoid putting out more money to replace dishwasher. I spoke to claims adjuster Daiquan S, and he was very rude and combative when I called him on his lies. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he told me there was no one over him. He said if I were to hang up and call back asking for someone else, it would come back to him. This was true because I called and explained the entire story saying I did not want to speak to Daiquan S, Case Manager and was assured they would get me someone else. Sure enough, Daiquan S| Case Manager, called back and sent an email saying to contact him. I do not recommend this company with their shady business practices, D S is their bulldog they use to lie on claims to deny the claim. Disgusted with this company.

My first repair on 1st part of Sept and now will be middle of Nov. you can't get help through their customer service you get the run around and I bought a six year warranty. So as I am experiencing so far on my first claim, they want your money for the warranty then they don't want to deal with you after that. They only update you on your delivery date but if you have no parts delivered you can't get anyone to help you. So far its the worst company I have ever dealt with and I am regretting my purchase of their warranty. If it changes I will rewrite my review but as of now I am not satisfied and would not recommend them to anyone.

It would be nice if they were more upfront about how things worked and it would be nice if they figured out how to make things happen in a more timely fashion. Although they're very friendly to speak with on the phone, their customer service people tend to rush you off a lot and not give you all the answers that you need.

They need better communication with their customers. Its just just very frustrating. One time they refused to pay, the second time it took me a week to get somebody out there to fix my air condition. He fixed it and then it didn't worked for two days later, so they come back again. I was probably out of air conditioner for 10 days.
