we should not pay the $75 until the company comes out and completes the job. They come out collect the $75 and never return to complete the job. My refrigerator is still not fixed because the last repair man told you a lie so he would not have to come back. The one before that never returned.

There’s many things I could say if my experience, it it’s too long to get into that great detail. They will cover what they want. Or send a tech 3x to the house and still not solve the problem so you just buy your own new appliance since they wouldn’t just cut to the chase and cover it

Those in the Choice office are nice about setting appointments, but they are trained to work very hard to make sure whatever the technician defines as the problem is not covered. Even when it's not specifically excluded by your contract, the "experts" you talk to when you appeal a decision are always unbending and invent phrases that they insist are just as binding as what they can't cite from the actual contract. You can't win against them because there is no higher level of appeal.

After two months of dealing with a technician that just stopped communicating to them not able to find a tech in my area to service a simple problem with my refrigerator not dispensing water, I decided after 4 calls to customer support to cut my losses and cancel contract. Thank goodness it wasn’t a bigger issue with my refrigerator! Appears they have a very small pool of technicians in the Los Angeles area to use. First one they sent came 30 miles to my home.

After submitting a claim and its subsequent denial, I was given the opportunity to “challenge” CHW’s denial via (2) case managers (CM). I was allowed a 15 minute discussion with the CM letting them know the reason(s) I feel the denial was unjust. At the 15 minute mark, the CM phone “interview” was abruptly ended. I was told they’d get back with me, but they never did. It wasn’t until I called CHW to cancel the additional (3) years of warranty that I found out my claim had been denied for a second time (I guess the CM wasn’t going to bother telling me about the denial??). Their customer service (or in this case, lack of) is the reason I give CHW one star! I will be sharing my negative experience with CHW with my realtor. I know there are other warranty companies that realtors recommend for their clients/customers.

Never ever go with Choice. Sales person and advertising totally misrepresented the coverage. We purchased our home and warrantee in July. All disclosures on the home were good and no issues reported by the seller. Come Thanksgiving when we had a family gathering, we quickly discovered there was little heat coming from the gas boiler. The sellers told us then that the family room never got over 55*. Soon we realized the heat output became less and less as the outside temp was lower and lower. I contacted Choice. It took almost a month for them to send us a contractor. The contractor told us there was no way for us to know the system was failing until it was taken apart. He fought for us for over 2 hours with Choice to get $1200 toward a heating system. He sent schematics, pictures, variables, and his years of expertise to a company that had no idea what he was talking about or what we needed to have heat over 55 now in the entire home. The contractor was sent by Choice and he told us it was not worth fighting for more as he had never experienced them paying for anything the warranty advertised. We had to take out a loan to get a heating system that now keeps us warm throughout the home. The only good thing that came from this poor purchase of a total coverage package from Choice was meeting an honest contractor who fought for us even though he was sent by them. He saw through the lies and misrepresentation with several other of his customers and knew this was a complete misjustice.

You tell me… my refrigerator has been out since the day before thanksgiving… it worked for 2 weeks after repairing the temp sensor. After ordering another part… part never came and or no communication. No one calls you back and it’s still not working. The part may not be available anymore,.. either way, my fridge is not working and I still don’t have a solutions. I’ve called the company at least once a week since December… still no resolution… are all companies like this? The guy who came to fix the washer though was great in getting my washer back working after it needed a water pump.

its working, but the response time, from filing a claim to getting results is slow. days, even weeks. when an appliance goes bad, that time is very inconvenient. without the warrantee service would be more expensive, but much faster. it's a trade off, but the delays are really unacceptable sometimes

I submitted claims for my refrigerator and stove and paid $200 to the service person who said they would get back to me. I did not receive an email that services would not be approved. It was placed in my file, so the 7-day appeal was lost. Due to the slow response, I also canceled a heating and air consult. Choice Home Warranty let me down. The service company did not call to say that they would be unable to provide service or offer service, in case I wanted to pay.

Made a service call for plumber for clogged kitchen sink drain. 1st plumber refused to come because $85.00 fee was to low. 2nd plumber (turns out was a handyman) came could not unclog drain by that time it was around 8:45 PM said he would be back the next day but CHW canceled men and said We were not covered because it was not an easy unclogging. This was the first time we used our contract (a wast of money for $541. 00 + $85.00 contract). Went out to hardware store bought drain snake and unclogged drain in 2 min, but it was still a little slow. We hired a local plumber, to finish cleaning drain that I could not reach line he took 10 minutes paid he $150.00 for their service call and was operating normally again.

Although chw is fast to receive your claim, it takes about a week for a tech to come and diagnose the problem. Another week or so to come back and repair the problem. I'm currently waiting for a lowes gift card to satisfy a claim in my refrigerator, which could take upto 30 days.
