The price is reasonable but there are limited service providers in my area so we had to wait several days to be approved to find our own provider - then it took a few more days to get the service approved.

For most of our claims, CHW has been quick and accommodating to work with. I'm just not sure in any of the claims where they intend to reimburse me money that I've actually received any of the money yet.

My last claim was never completely resolved. I contacted Choice and was told to contact the tech that came out to come fix it. I did that- a total of 7 times- with no response and no correction. My heat still does not work correctly and needs to be fixed. I also had a water heater that was never repaired and I had to replace at my own expense even though it was covered. There are consistently long wait times for repairs.

When I had to have my furnace worked on the heating company talked me into buying a new furnace and air conditioner since mine were so old I thought the home warranty would cover it if they couldn't fix the original all they paid was $2500 which didn't even come near what it cost. It would be nice to know if my issue with my appliance is covered before they send a tech. For example when the tech came out for my clothes washer issue he said all that was needed was to unplug the unit let it sit for 15 seconds to reset, and plug it back in. That cost me $65!!

Coverage is not very good, they said my dishwasher had to be replaced and offered $325. A new one of equal options is $800-1000. Also a service repairman found an additional issue with my oven, which he said he would send to company in order to get permission to repair a burner, that was over 1 month ago....to date no response in spite of the fact that I emailed them about it once already. Poor follow through.

I’m a Realtor in Indianapolis. I have ordered hundreds of Home Warranties for my clients. Most, if not all, were Choice. A home warranty is provided for peace of mind. I ordered a home warranty for my personal home. I had no need for it the first 12 months. I reordered for a second 12 months. Again, for peace of mind. A few months after RE-ordering another Choice Ultimate warranty my AC wasn’t cooling. I submitted the claim. Choice told me they did not have a contractor and to find one on my own and they would reimburse me through their reimbursement program. I did and Choice denied my claim. A few weeks before my sump pump went out. I filed the clsim throufh choice, they scheduled a contractor 1 week out. I couldn’t wait that long so I replaced it myself. I will never refer another Choice Warranty again. I had a few clients complain about choice. I guess I had to experience it for myself.

They're terrible. I needed to use my warranty to fix my ice maker and they sent two separate people out who never fixed the ice maker properly and then they charged me another seventy five dollar fee because their person just never came back with the right part to fix it. So they made me pay twice. That's just one of my horrible experiences with them. They're a horrible company that bullies you. The salespeople bully you, they blow up your phone. They don't want to fix anything. They try to send you horrible service people so you won't get anything fixed properly. I would never ever, ever use them again. Ever. They should be sued, another class action lawsuit.

The service from the customer support people has been pretty poor, but the actual service people that come out and help me here in my home, those people have been fantastic. The service was really vague and at some point I wasn't able to get reimbursed for services already rendered prior to my knowledge of the warranty.

Choice warranty's system does not work. Earlier this year my dishwasher went out. They didn't have a tech anywhere in my area. It was five months later before a tech finally came out and they decided to just replace the dishwasher. Their idea of replacing the dishwasher was a check for $243, which they admitted was not even close to enough money to replace the dishwasher, let alone have it installed and the old one hauled off. And they refused to do what they said they were going to do. I hear the same thing over and over and over, no matter how many times I call, no matter how many people I talk to. It is not even remotely helpful. It's always "I'm sorry you're experiencing this. We'll see if we can fix it." Weeks later you call, same answer.

I had a washer go out and I had decent service from the technician that came out, but it couldn't be repaired. That was about a month ago now and I still haven't been paid for it, but they only gave me 500 and some dollars towards the new washer. A new washer costs $800. The claim rep that actually handled the payout gave horrible representation and I got screwed over on the deal.

I sat five days without water because they didn't get anybody to respond to a service call. And it was right before Thanksgiving. I had company coming over finally after I called two days in a row after the scheduled deployment, so that's the part that's disappointing. The work was handled fine, but the process was not.

Two months ago. This is last issue which I got with that company. I got electrical issue. My outlets are not working. I call company, they send electrician. Electrician came, I pay him the $65 fee. When they come, he turned around, said "I cannot fix it," left. I called company. They're supposed to give me another technician to come to fix it. It's two months already passed by. I got one, the person called me last week, he said they gave me a work order, but they didn't approve to pay me. He called me and said "you guys have to call the company and tell them if they wanted me to come, they have to pay me." We tried to call. They promised us everything was two months. I wanted to cancel my service and I said I wanted my $65 back.

We are still in the process since Thanksgiving. We had a tech come after after the weather got better to diagnose the problem with our dryer. He said he thought we needed a new dryer because the motor is shot and the model is very old but he will submit his findings to his superiors who will make their recommendation. It was decided that the dryer may be able to be repaired but ANOTHER technician is scheduled to visit us on the 9th of December to make the final decision. In the meantime, we have to go to the laundry mat to dry out clothes. .

I sent in a claim for my oven on November 18th. This is December 8th and still don't have a fixed oven. A technician from Sears came on November 18th. He had on his paperwork that it was a cooktop. We told him no, that it was the oven. He checked the oven and said it needed a new keypad and that this part was not available anymore. He contacted Home Warranty and told them and they said ok and for him to close the order. I have called Choice Home Warranty 4 times and they keep saying they are waiting for information from the technician when the technician has already given them the information.

Talking to anyone is very difficult. There's no choice in who you work with, speaking of retailers to buy from. Lowes is awful when it comes to choices and customer service. The gift cards issued should be to any place you can find the best price for replacement. Instillation and repair for work that's been done isn't considered for repayment to customers.

We submitted a claim because our saltwater spa was not heating. The first pool company that the warranty company sent out was a no call no show for two appointments. A second company was assigned and they came out when no one was home. They proceeded to do something to our circuit breaker causing all electricity to be lost to the pool and the spa. They informed the company that the problem was due to the wrong circuit breaker being used. That is impossible since the pool has been running for years. In any event, that company came back and replaced the breaker because of our lost electricity. When we made the claim, we advised the company that there was a high limit fault code showing. That has absolutely nothing to do with circuit breakers. The company has denied our claim because they state that it's not where in tear, but rather wrong circuit breaker. Again, this has nothing to do with the fault code that showed when we made the claim and continues to show after the circuit plate breaker was replaced. our customer service rep DaQuan contacted me at 6 AM in the morning and was pigheaded at best in stating that he would not consider paying this claim. He refuses to listen to the fact that the warning code has not been addressed nor the problem adequately diagnosed by the company that he sent out. He refuses to provide his supervisors name and telephone number. Complicating matters, I advised the company on November 1 that I was going to be out of the country for two weeks and during that time. They have made this decision, set up appointments for me to talk to them, and called me at 6 AM the morning of my return to deny the claim.

Right now I'm using my warranty and my washer broke for one month and it's still not fixed yet and I cannot get them to fix it because every day is a back and forth with customer service on Choice and they're putting their technician ahead of their customers. Because their technician is telling them this day, next day, this day. I would like them to get better technicians and people who can come and diagnose the problem and fix the problem. Not to drag it along for a month or three weeks. Because when we take the agreement, I pay them up front and I expect to get a certain proper service.

They tried to deny every claim before they even have the full information on what it's about. I called them on an air conditioner just a few months ago, and they came out and they inspected the unit and they said the unit was under warranty. Well, what was under warranty was the part. The part was covered, but not the labor to put it in. They said because the part was warrantied they would not provide the labor. So I kept complaining. I took a little further than just with Choice and they eventually said we made a mistake, we will cover it. So they sent their servicemen out. And when he was out, he said Choice will pay to have the compressor replaced but I will not put just the compressor in unless you do A B and C, also at your cost to guarantee that the compressor will work for more than a short while. So I had to pay nearly $700 out of my pocket regardless, even when Choice said they would pay for the labor because the serviceman they sent out said this had to be done. Unless you're willing to spend a lot of time arguing about a claim, I would find another company to have your home warranty with.
