I've had a disappointing experience with my warranty. Support has been lacking, and my requests for repairs were declined. I ended up paying out of pocket for a garage door lifter and a new water heater, while the reimbursement for my refrigerator was only partial. Overall, the service has not met my expectations, and I've received no follow-up.

I had a plumbing issue in one of my bathrooms. Although it took a bit of time for the team to arrive, I appreciated their courtesy and thoroughness in checking for deeper problems. However, my request for a repair was declined, and I was referred to the manufacturer instead. Overall, I understand they are busy and did their best.

Washer couldn’t be repaired …..choice offered 340 to buy a new one. Lowest price available (with less features) is 500!!!! I found out later after many conversations with their management that they base their reimbursement figure on THEIR COST NOT WHAT SOMEONE CAN REALY PAY!!!!!!! That sucks. They are really only replacing part of the price of a “similar washer”

I thought the contractor was great. However, it would seem Choice Home Warranty has many clauses that allows them not to be liable for the services that the insurers believe they are paying for. My situation was electrical and though I’m the second owner I’ve never messed with any of the wiring system. When the electrician came he stated wiring wasn’t correct which could’ve been from when the house was built in early 2000s. Since wiring was wrong Choice Warranty declined service. When I purchased insurance, I thought it was based on me not the previous owner or the builder. Additionally, the electrician stated Choice Warranty wouldn’t authorize work on the same electrical issue that they sent someone out here a year ago to fix in which I was told by the electrician that they didn’t fix it they wired it so it looked like they fixed it and it would go out again.

I like the fact that I could find a company on my own. But I’m disappointed that CHW couldn’t get someone to fix the heating unit, because I had to pay out of pocket for my own repairs. The unit is old and it will need to be replaced one day because the parts for it, aren’t made anymore.

The process is so complicated. The elements didn’t solve the problem . The technician pull the oven out and check the wires in the back and check the wires in the thing that makes it work and the oven didn’t heat it all.

Choice will contact the vendor and schedule an appointment without consulting the customer. I contacted Choice to enter a claim by leaving a voicemail, and 1. I wasn’t if the message was received; 2. Someone scheduled the appointment without asking my availability; 3. The only notification I received was via email; 4. I notified the vendor based on the contact information on the email to let them know that I was not available; 5. The vendor showed up after informing them that I was not available: and 6. The service cost increased and I wasn’t aware.

I was referred by a neighbor. My problem with them is that you have no way of speaking to a live person if you have any questions or problems. So far, I have been happy with the referrals for my claims but my main complaint is that you have no way to speak to a live person.

Not a good cost/benefit design. It seems like nothing is covered adequately or reasonably. I would rather spend a little more on the front-end (premium) to have a bit more peace of mind. To be fair, the company seems to be improving somewhat, though.

The response to the work order was very efficient. The company that came to do the service was fast and professional. But, when Choice warranty decided to replace the appliance I have left with paying more than half out of pocket to replace my appliance. Why to have a warranty company if you have to cover more than half of the replacement appliance out of pocket.

When the technician 2 weeks ago came he said the washing machine could not be fixed it needed to be replaced.I saw him take a picture of the model number and serial number. I had to call the claim department daily and send them the model and serial number again. They said they did not get the report, and the technician had to tell them how much it was going to cost to fix the washing machine, they then decided it had to be replace. Now it going to take up to 30 days for me to get a e gift card for Lowes, why so long, I will be without a washing machine for a month and half.

We had a Problem with our heating system and since C.H.W. customer serv. dept. is based outside of the U.S.A. they were un familiar with of States, Cities and Counties to find an appropriate repair Co. to provide us with service. Language accent was also a big barrier as I had to keep repeating myself as well as asking the C.H.W. Rep. to keep repeating what they were saying . After 5 days we had to call someone ourselves and then pay out of our pocket for the Service call ,Parts and Repairs. we chose C.H.W because we were tired of our old Home Ins Co. and their poor coverage and customer service This was the 1st time we have had to make a claim with C.H.W. I was Very Disappointed! We live in the state of Oregon and out of the 37 Repair Companies we called no one took C.H.W. Temperatures here get to below zero we had to use an alternate heat source from the time we submitted the claim and the time which the repairs were completed which drove our electric bill to twice the amount of a regular bill . I am not not Very Happy at this point with C.H.W. and C.H.W. needs to do a better job if they want our future business, We chose C.H.W. because of the Television and News Paper adds claiming they were better then anyone else on the market and or in the industry . Like I said I am not too happy so far!

I filed a claim on my Bosch dishwasher. They said it needed to be replaced. I want to Lowe’s as they suggested and the cheapest Bosch was $750 with a $200 install and $50 for parts when I called the choice service center. I was told to go get an insignia Open box item which is nowhere near the quality that I have now. And offered me $245 to replace it, which was a slap in the face. Very displeased with the service and the offer.

I would have rated a 5 before I filed a claim on November 11 for service to my furnace. The appointment for reviewing and determining the problem was November 26, fifteen days after my claim. I had to follow up to learn than Bonita Way ordered parts that would not be in until December 16. Now on December 17 I haven’t heard if the parts are in and have not been scheduled for service. I’m am very disappointed and concerned since it is winter here in western Pennsylvania and we need service.

Getting the runaround…company says they contacted repairman. Repairman says he wasn’t Paid for previous work so refuses to come. First filed 11/29 and was postponed twice. Technician was supposed to be here today. I arranged my day for him to be here now. The latest word is that she will try to reassign it to someone else, but that postpone it for another day or two. I have been without my garbage disposal since 29 November and Christmas is next week when I desperately need it. I cannot tell you how disappointed I am with Choice warranty. I need a new disposal because that one was leaking and I’m sure it just needs to be replaced.

The wait period to get my gift card so that I can purchase another washer. I’ve been constantly going to the laundromat to wash clothes after my machine broke. The initial service call was great but when Choice told me that they were replacing my washer everything went downhill (gotta wait 30 days before they send me a gift card smh)

I was able to get my refrigerator fixed I ended up having to hire someone to fix my water myself. They never did help me fix my issue and I’ve been without a washing machine now for almost 4 weeks. I spent thousands of dollars for nothing. I put two stars because it did sound wonderful and I suppose it may work if you have people around you that will work with this company but will not.

The people I’ve worked with have been just fine but I bought the policies on five houses for assurance that I wouldn’t have large out of pocket expenses. I’ve had to appeal two (of two) claims for what I felt were valid. I had to threaten to cancel the policies to get a partial payment on one and the other, that should have been covered, was denied. I am seriously thinking of going back to American Home Shield.

Choice has staff that don’t listen. They have prompt already prepared to them.. they keep saying the same things over and over and don’t care about how long it takes to get the job done. They also want every technician who comes for repair to call them for an approval before he can start the work. They dictate what he can and can’t do. If the price is a bit high for them, they will definitely turn it down and put a limit how much they want to spend not have fixing the problem is their priority .

Shoddy and unfinished work. Unsatisfactory workmanship. The contractor that worked on my furnace left a lot of mess for me to clean up. Then I had to keep calling him back to rectify the issues I've been having after he replaced a part of my furnace.

So far it seems like the process to get an appliance replaced is too complicated. Choice Home Warranty tries to cover the bare minimum they are required to instead of thinking about their customers needs first. Also, it is hard to determine what my coverage actually covers and how it is affected after filing a claim.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. My most recent experience was with a washing machine. Filed a claim, technician came, “diagnosed” the problem. Came back a week later to “fix” the problem. It wasn’t fixed. Same tech came back 2 more times. Never fixed the original problem. Chw made me file a new claim (and pay another copay) to a different tech, after this one’s diagnoses they decided to buy out the washer because it was too expensive to fix. Apparently they think you can get an 8 cycle high capacity washer for $342 because that was their final offer. So when you figure in the $150 in copays for the broken machine chw contributed $198 toward a new washing machine. That is assuming they actually send me the “Lowes E-gift card” that takes 30 days to email. And don’t let them get you excited about their “dedicated claims rep” that just means you get to know the person’s name that is bending you over.

I had the worst experience with choice. After 11 days and two service companies of their choice coming out they still could not get their service companies to respond. Went 11 days without heat hoping and waiting they’d help. Asked for a supervisor to assist me expidite the issue and let me know my options and was told I’d need to keep calling in “hopes” I’d get one but could take hours. Finally i got a service company to come out who could replace it the next day and they refused to reimburse me. They finally said ok they’d offer $400 out of the $1200 I paid without explanation of where they got that number and the representative told me if I were you I’d take the offer and move on. I used to love them and recommend them but will never again. I even asked for a supervisor again to my case manager and have had no response.

I have been really impressed with choice Watanty company for sending out a repair company 3 times to repair my gas dryer and he replaced the belt and it didn’t run then they ordered a motor and installed it and it didn’t work so he tried a fuse and it didn’t work so they told choice to get a new dryer and choice told me a coupon would be sent to me in 21 days and I don’t remember seeing it so 5 days ago I asked to re send it and as of today I have not seen it so tomorrow I will ask for a manager and see how much longer it takes to close my case because I have a dryer working so I will not rate them well for not having a dryer for over 30 days

Was not thrilled with the company you sent out to fix my air conditioner and heating. It’s still not complete and they were paid. Four visits that they never showed up for they finally showed up for the one visit. They put the units in, the next day to chase them down to clean the ductwork so we could use them, and now we have sheet rock damage all over the bedroom that I need fixed and they were supposed to come back last Saturday not thrilled.

When I canceled I had 18 months left on my contract!! My contract dates were November 2022 thru May 9,2026. I paid $1590 for 3 years in full in advance which breaks down to $44.17 per month. My refund was only $310.83 which is only 7 months of payments. WHERE IS THE OTHER 11 MONTHS WORTH ($486.87) OF PAYMENTS??? I was told it went to pay for the service calls (on TOP OF MY $75 DEDUCTABLE) and parts. Hat the hay??? You are a Warranty company right?? So why are you keeping $458.87 of what’s left of my contract???

I made 4 claims and only 2 got fixed, one was a refridgerator that I needed fixed and they turned it down, because of being in the garage and the other one was a septic tank pumping. They told me they could not find anybody. NOT GOOD

"Hidden fees" I believe that CHW Needs to have better line communication with the technicians that they to customers homes to do work..as well as letting the customers know upfront whom filed a claim, what or if any out of pocket expenses would be present
