If the repair is a simple appliance like washer, dryer or dishwasher, I haven’t had too many issues. I have had issues getting a tech for my AC and garage door opener. Many techs won’t work with a warranty company or don’t want to just do the quick fix. I have had to wait a long time while they try to find a part before replacing the device.

The first scheduled tech never arrived. Had to message Choice a few times to get a replacement company. The new tech diagnosed the issue quickly; washing machine unit needed replacing. Choice would send eLowes card for replacement amount. Took a month before funds were disburse. If I was banking on those funds to purchase replacement, I would have been without for a full month or longer.

In my latest claim for a leaking washing machine , it took 2 weeks for appointment to assess damage. Waited another week to be notified I would get replacement value go $406.00 in form of gift card. I accepted. Was not told it could take up to 30 days for gift card to be emailed, nor was I told gift card email would be coming from Lowe’s, not from choice. This seems like an unreasonably long wait. It has been my experience that service is slow and claim is denied or a low value is offered. The least they could do is provide the gift card within 5 days.

Started calling on Friday around 11 am. Took5 hrs and 8 calls to report and open a AC claim. I hired another company to troubleshoot my system before the long weekend. After that troubleshooting I paid him $99 and decided not to continue with his services. Called Choice around 5 PM and Got an automatic response with appointment for Monday 3-8 pm… On Monday an AC repairman called and said that I missed his appointment at 2 pm. Really? Wrong! I verified and my appointment WAS at 3-8 pm. Still, he showed up at 3:30 and found my system has a gas leak and needs refrigerant buy could not fix because he need authorization to perform the repairs. So, now he/we are awaiting authorization from Choice to repair or replace the system. I need my AC back functioning! Please, help!

Initial diagnosis takes too long, several days or weeks after claim is filed and rarely resolved same day. Convenient online claim method, reasonable service fee amount. Choice is Very poor at replacing appliances when repair is denied, big hassle and always undervalues your appliance. Customer is always out of pocket. For example I'm still waiting on payment for a June claim, they only approved $272 to replace a high end dishwasher. They only give a LOWES gift card instead of cash/check which sucks. I've been a customer since 2015, not sure if I will renew again. In general I prefer home warranties for their convenience of not having to find your own repair contractor for initial diagnosis.

Ever since I have had this policy they have not agreed to fix anything. I have to pay $75.00 for a vendor to come over and do nothing 😑. I have filled five claims with them and every time they have a reason for not paying to repair it while I send my money on their policy and vendors and get nothing. Then I still have to pay someone to do the repairs. And I am not talking large repairs but small issues like a ceiling fan that rocks or exhaust fans that are not working properly. With the fan the vendor came over and turned it on then said oh it's supposed to be like that. Like I don't know when something is broken 😔 and charges me 75.00 to do so. I think it's better to save your own money for repairs than to pay them for nothing 😑

I am extremely disappointed with the level of service I’ve experienced. First, the scheduling delays are unacceptable—waiting over 10 days just to address a microwave issue is far too long and shows a lack of urgency in customer care. Secondly, I had a highly frustrating experience with my refrigerator ice maker repair. The technician claimed the issue wasn’t covered because the unit was “under warranty.” However, the manufacturer confirmed that the warranty expired over 8 years ago. When I contacted Choice Home Warranty, they still insisted it was the manufacturer’s responsibility and refused to cover the repair. This back-and-forth is unacceptable. As a paying customer, I should not be forced to navigate between the warranty provider, a third-party technician, and the manufacturer just to get a resolution. This shows a serious lack of coordination and accountability. I expected better service and clearer communication from all parties involved. This experience has left me deeply dissatisfied.

Are you serious? They asked me for MY feedback about CHW? Bad move. This company absolutely is horrible. Took money for 5 years. When I needed them when our HVAC took a dump... CHW couldn't find a company to come out. Why? Because any reputable company knows that CHW is second rate and won't allow them to fix problems right the first time. Instead, they want to nickle and dime a problem hoping you either pay for it yourself or you cancel your policy. One piece of advice. Stay away from these swindlers. They are crooks that try to act like they care until you actually file a claim. I wish I could give them a below zero star score.

They send a repairman out twice and when he doesn’t fix the problem, their answer is pretty much too bad. To get a different repairman is another service call charge of $100 they do not replace appliances and I mean I don’t care how old they are. They will not replace them. They just try and get a part replaced and if that doesn’t fix the problem or makes The appliance worse. Well that’s too bad for you with all the money that I spent on monthly charges for this warranty I could’ve bought new appliances. They are rude and dismissive when you call about a problem if it’s not solved the first time it seems as if their whole goal is to not ever spend money replacing a very old appliance with lots of problems just to continually get you to pay service charges. I wish I had talked to other people with this #Warranty before I spent all the money on it because they had the same problems that I have had with them. Never again . If I could give zero stars I would.

It takes too long to get someone to come out for service. I had experienced a problem with my A/C and CHW was unable to find someone to come out. CHW told me to contact someone on my own, pay for it, had me send the receipt and I would be reimbursed. I wasn't. The bill was over $2,000 and months later I get a check for $484. Call for repair on my microwave paid my $75 fee. Two days later realized that the microwave light was still not working. Left three messages two voicemails and several messages to choice. Emailed me back on the 12th and said the technician said it was working so therefore, I had to pay another $75 for them to fix it. They ignored all of my communication with them to come back out and do the job that I paid them for originally. This company may be the cheapest company because they have a hidden agenda.

Choice has pretty bad customer service and the contractors that they work with are TERRIBLE. You don’t get to select your contractor from any type of list based on reviews, you just get stuck with whoever they pick and whatever time they pick. You have no choice. Many times I have made a claim, a contractor came out and did next to nothing to actually fix the problem, and then the issue came back less than a week later, meaning I would need to pay to have someone sent out again. The contractors they select are either brand new or have terrible reviews online.

DO NOT use Choice Home Warranty! I paid my $500 for the warranty. Made a claim for my garage door as the spring broke. I have a 2 car garage door so it takes 2 springs. The company they sent replaced both springs. CHW only paid for ONE!! So they paid $144 and I paid the $75 service call AND $144 for the other spring. You have to make an appt to make a complaint and if your complaint isn’t handled within 15 minutes then you have to make another 15 minute appt! They told me “the other spring wasn’t broken.” The door repairman said it had just as much wear and tear as the one that broke so he replaced both. CHW, said, sorry, it’s in the fine print. And if I cancel my warranty I get the prorated sum back PLUS I have to repay the $144 they paid the door company! It’s a racket. There may be a reputable home warranty company out there but CHW isn’t one of them!
