My air conditioning system has a slow leak. The technician they sent out determined there was a crack in my in-home portion, and a new coil may be required. It was never made clear to me in my conversations with the sales people (of the warranty) that if the repairs require replacing and parts not compatible with your old system, or if they add any other new systems (outdoor – which works fine) needed because of the appliance changes, you pay for the new parts both required and necessary for the repair their way. The sales person was misleading and I believe CHOICE Home Warranty is a big scam – creating a need for newer parts, even those that are working fine. The repair businesses get a kick back, of course. I am going to report this misleading of coverage, this failure to repair all parts required for a fix and misleading warranty info to the BBB and the Michigan Attorney General. I, obviously, do not approve any work or purchase of parts for my repair. It’s thousands of dollars just because appliances are regularly changed, improved and become incompatible with the newer equipment. This can not be right. They must be able to find a way to repair the leak without making me purchase a whole new system -inside and out. I regret signing on with CHOICE. They literally gave me no choice!

I have had Choice for over 10 years and didn't have a problem with them until now. After my yearly inspection, it was found that the heat exchanger on my furnace had cracks in it resulting in the system being shut down and condemned which is normal. I filed a claim with Choice who sent out a technician who inspected the unit and stated it had to be replaced. Choice denied it and sent out two more companies who both said the same thing yet Choice decided to ignore their own technicians and state they would only approve replacing the heater exchanger on an 18 year old furnace with which all 3 of their technicians plus the technician I had that originally found the problem all said replacing the heat exchanger on such an old unit was not safe and the only safe thing was to replace the unit. However in the infinite wisdom of a technician at Choice who probably hasn't worked on a unit in years, HE decided they will only approve replacing the heat exchanger ignoring the health and safety of me and my family. This certainly tells me Choice is more interested in their bank account than they are in the safety of their customers. Over the years I have recommended Choice to many of my friends and neighbors who all took out a contract with Choice. I will never recommend Choice to anyone any more. As a result of their inconsideration I now must take out a loan to cover the expense of replacing the unit that they, by contract, are refusing to cover. Rest assured when my contract expires I will not be renewing it.

The process to get a claim in process is quick and easy. They have good follow up and so far the maintenance team has been professional and technically proficient.

Pushy sales for more than I wanted and made clear wasn't going to sign on for and yet continued to try and pitch the sales for a 5-6 year plan pay up front. Good reviews but seems very obvious kick back for how much you sign up for

I switched from another company to CHW because the agent on the phone convinced me how comprehensive the coverage was. Nope. I purchased an older home last year which passed inspection before my purchase. This year, I had a leak under the kitchen sink. CHW has denied coverage because the piping wasn't done correctly. If they don't cover items as is, why bother even having a warranty? Now there is a musty smell in the cabinet. If it's black mold will they cover that? Will they cover replacing of the bottom of the cabinet regardless of cause? Im not spending money on another service call to be told that the issue isn't covered. I've made other arrangements to fix the problem. Also, they send notices about appointment times which are not correct. You have to call the provider to schedule the appointment. The technician who came out was excellent. He called about 20 minutes prior to tell me he was on the way. He was polite and friendly. He said the fix was easy and thought that it would be a covered repair. Needless to say, I will look for another company when renewal time comes around. So far I think these companies are worthless based on my 2 experiences

This was our first claim after joining Choice Home Warranty, they were responsive and arranged for a repair person to come out promptly, a good experience.

I am sorry this warranty company is a scam. I have a $1000 appliance that stopped working. It took three weeks for a service person, handpicked by CHW, show up. I tried to get CHW to find another service person multiple times, but they would not change the appointment. The service person showed up and determined two parts were needed. It took three weeks for the parts to come in. Then, it took another two weeks for the service person to return and put in the parts. Yup, that did not fix the appliance. One week later, CHW notified us that they would not fix the appliance, but would cut us a check to buy a new one. Well, they gave us under $350. I contacted the manufacturer, and asked them for a quotation for replacement of like kind. That would be $1,250 retail. I have read the policy many times, and it does not guarantee replacement cost. Instead, they offer "their cost" for an appliance with similar specs. $350 is all! I asked them to please tell me where they could buy a similar appliance for that amount. They could not give me an answer. I tried to push this up the chain, but there is no leadership chain. Just dead ends. There is no way to negotiate or justify for a different amount. They said we could decline the settlement, which means just not take the check, and they would close the claim. Oh, they also will not pay for delivery or installation of a replacement appliance. That is in the policy. I would absolutely avoid CHW. We have tried twice to get them to pay for broken appliances, and both times we received less than 25% of the cost of getting and installing a new one of like kind. We used to have American Home Shield. While they were also a bit tight with the reimbursements, they were significantly more reasonable. AHS was also significantly better at getting a prompt service visit and response.

Claims are processed quickly. It usually takes 2-3 days for a technician to come to your house. The technicians are reliable and do good work.

I've had great experiences with Choice Warranty. Their customer support has consistently been excellent. Recently, I had a washing machine issue, and the technician was very helpful, providing valuable information. I've also used them for a refrigerator repair and was very satisfied. Overall, Choice has outperformed other warranty companies I've tried.

My refrigerator has been leaking for six months. Home warranty has sent people out three different times to fix it, and it is still leaking. One time it took them over two months to get someone to come out and fix it. Choice Home Warranty. They kept giving me the runaround and finally asked me to find my own repair person because they couldn’t get someone out quickly.

Denied claims that should have been approved. The contact person was no help. Approved claims take months to receive payment. Takes days to find a contractor for us, then we have to find our own contractor and go through a lengthy approval process for them. We have to pay the contractor and wait to be reimbursed for a ridiculous amount of time!

Not a good service! It's hard to get an actual person on the phone when you need to. They make promises and don't keep them. I can't recommend them. Most of the service techs they send out are nice enough, but the operators you speak to when you call say anything to keep you as a customer, but don't make good on those promises.

I had mixed experiences with customer support. They respond quickly and keep me updated, which I appreciate. However, my recent warranty claim was disappointing; I felt I had to fight for a fair reimbursement after a costly replacement. Overall, while the service is prompt, the support could improve.

I've had multiple issues with my appliances and the service has been disappointing. They haven't fulfilled their promises, and after several visits, I'm still facing problems. They keep claiming certain repairs aren't covered, which leads to additional charges. I'm frustrated with the lack of resolution and transparency regarding my warranty.

I had high hopes when switching to Choice after a bad experience with American Home Shield regarding my pool heater. Unfortunately, I faced similar issues with coverage for my heat pump. I regret signing a long contract without reading the fine print. Now, I'm exploring options to cancel my membership and wondering about the fees involved. Disappointed.

I had a frustrating experience with customer service. My fridge leak was fixed, but dirty water still comes through. The technician didn't address the noisy microwave fan, and I felt ignored when I raised the issue. My oven was repaired multiple times without resolving the problem, and now my boiler isn't working. Communication has been poor, and I'm left unsatisfied with the service.

Had a water heater go out. CHW was great getting it fixed for me. Turn around 3mo later the new tank is leaking. Put in a claim. Paid 100 for my service call only to find out a warranty job is going to end up being $650. Apparently my previous installer didn't even update the breaker to accommodate the new appliance, nor did he even tell me about it. Had to find out the hard way when the appliance didn't even work after he left. Was a big mess and still is. Be careful. CHW is great for some things but absolutely will not cover others even when it deals with whatever system is being replaced.

My Septic company notified me that my tanks needed to be pumped. Choice Home required I pay an additional fee to have a second opinion which I did. They then approved the pumpout and I had to pay $325. I paid extra to have our septic system covered, but the additional $425 I had to pay doesn't seem to sit right with us. It costs $500 for a pumpout, so where am I saving money by purchasing a warranty? We will not be renewing!

My A/C unit went out; long story short, they denied my claim because the refrigerant coil was rusty and stated it was a pre-existing condition. I explained that rust is a normal occurring process in an older unit and out of my control but they still denied my claim. You'd think that they would at least cover a portion of it, $10,000 for my new unit when I thought I was covered by the so-called 'best warranty company in the business '. I may have to rethink my options with staying with this company.

I dislike the amount of time it takes to get service. I did not sign up for this program so that I could find my own contractor. They took a long time to assign a contractor to my claim. I did observe that the contractor did not due a complete in investigation. When choice warranty assigned another contractor, he was located 1 5 hous away a d refuse to come unless he had more business in my area, when I called choice warranty on why they assigned a contractor so far away they replied he was the first one to answer the call for service. That told me that you don't hire quality contractors.

In below freezing temperatures it took 7 days to get someone here to take care of the problem. I spent over 8 hundred dollars on “plug in electric heaters” to stop from freezing. The garage and house both went down so I had to pay $200 for two heaters for one visit. I’m into this problem dollar wise for more than I spent on the insurance which makes it more than twice as much than with the insurance .
