We haven't had hot water since Sept. 30. Today is Nov. 19. The problem is obvious, a failed blower in our tankless heater. CHW denied this claim initially because "noise isn't a covered problem." They were well aware the noise is from a failed component. They tried "noise" a second time, then it was "the plumber didn't file a report." False. They demanded a second trip; he again filed a report citing blower failure (in front of us). Claim denied, first with mumbling about no report or inadequate information, then saying failure was due to age, not mechanical failure (CHW site says "the age of a system or appliance does not matter."). Then CHW said it must be a water pressure issue the plumber needs to return. At which point the plumber said "forget it, their game is obvious." When I wanted my 3-yr contract cancelled (another story) CHW said wait, we'll send another technician. When they couldn't find another to work with them, they contacted the original plumber, who told us he'll give it one more try. He said he was on the phone with CHW for 45 minutes with CHW telling him "what to say to resolve this." He filed a report citing what they wanted to hear, at which point they started all over: "we didn't get complete info from the plumber." That was his "one more try." Of course, CHW obviously knows the issue but says they''ll do nothing w/o "the information they need," which they won't get as he (and apparently everybody else) will no longer work with them. Patience doesn't work, CHW interprets it as a signal to continue frustrating. I'm taking this to small claims court and also seeing if there's basis for a class action suit, since many others seem to have had similar issues.

Have referred a couple others to have a couple of their claims denied for what should have been considered normal wear and tear. Also in my area finding a Tech for repair service has a couple times taken days. There are a few I have called to speed up the repair to find they will not work with CHW.

Would not fix my refrigerator showcase door because the inexperienced tech dispatched did not know how to fix. Instead he requested an entire door. This was BS and the supervisor I spoke with was a terrible representative for your company. She has closed ears and simply would not listen. It was terrible experience I will never forget. For those reasons I would never recommend Choice Warranty to a friend or a relative.

I used my warranty on my A/C unit that went out. But they mixed my paperwork up and then didn't send it in. When they finally corrected it, they won't get my A/C unit fixed. But overall, it's great. Everybody was friendly.

The air conditioning coils in the attic that leaked into the air conditioner stopped working. So we called Choice Home Warranty and then it turned out that the coils were under warranty. So the part was free and then the labor cost $2000. They were all very nice.

It was a pretty good experience when I had a garbage disposal put in. But then my furnace went out and that was a big hassle. Even though they provided the furnace and the company that put it in, I feel that I was overcharged for some of the items that that company used. Plus, it would take about a month before I actually got the furnace in. I'm 88 years old and about froze when all of that was going on.

The customer service support is nice enough, but they don't seem to have any information and they can't help usually. I don't think they're in this country. I don't know if they're in the Philippines or India, and again, they're very sweet, but they don't seem to really be able to answer questions about the warranty itself.

I HAD 2 OF THESE HOME WARRANTIES AND ONE FOR 3 YEARS. THEY REFUSE TO PAY FOR 80% OF THE REQUESTED REPAIRS AND FIND EXCUSES NOT TO PAY! THEY ARE ONE OF THE WORST 2 HOME WARRANTY COMPANIES IN THE COUNTRY. I HAVE A FEW HUNDRED RENTALS AND CANNOT REFER THEM AT ALL. THEIR LAST EXCUSE TO AVOID PAYMENT OF AN INSIDE CLOTHES DRYER WAS THERE WAS EVIDENCE OF SOME RUST AND DECAY INSIDE! They don't figure that there is a leak in the system where water from the interior chamber gets into the motor. So the dryer has been working fine for the last three years. they don't ask to come and inspect your appliances before selling you the policy. The salespeople don't quote any exclusions and then they screw you when you call them and ask for a repair. I am sick of this company. They are the absolute worst!

The electricians are very young and inexperienced. They are only interested in making a quick dollar, they are not concerned with follow through, customer satisfaction, professionalism, their business success, they only collect the $85 service fee , they are not ever seen again. I understand good workers are hard to find, but please review and research these companies and get credible references before assigning them to us. I cannot afford to pay service fee every other week for the same issue. These young men are in their 30's, they reek of cigerette smoke and Marijuana, they have no concern about growing their company, they are only making the $85 service fee and they are happy to collect the fee and that is all they want, they are not coming back to complete any job after they get that service fee. They never do. Please fix this!

My Hotwater heater stopped putting out hot water I filed a claim and they sent out a plumber to check it out. They recommended 2 new heating elements and a new thermostat It was denied saying I had hot water? I tried to get them to understand that the hot water only lasted a few minutes Refilled the claim and it was denied. I ended up replacing the water heater due to its age and it cost me over $2K ( includes new water heater and the installation of new unit and the disposal of the old unit Don’t waste your $ on this There is a dedicated FB Page that talks about the horrible service and % of claims Denied by home owners!

Liked concept of a home warranty. Didn’t like unprofessional vendor’s plumbing repair that damaged my sink counter nor initially the incorrect info from Choice as to how to handle my claim against vendor. Eventionally, Choice gave me correct instruction but it’s still not resolved after a month and has been a frustrating experience.

I am still waiting for a callback. My claim began October 12 after a preventive maintenance call from Bryant Heating and Cooling. The technician shut down my furnace since the heat exchanger has a crack and it releases CO2 into the system. The first technician was from Sears and unable to get the part which is under warranty. I found a local dealer who can get the part but I need prior authorization from Choice. Now they want me to pay for another technician to verify that the heat exchanger needs replacing. I sent them the email from Bryant that says all this, to include replacement of the furnace. Now when I call, it says that I am on a callback, without the ability to speak with anyone. Still waiting on the call back. And the company who can get the part and replace it cannot start until Choice says to. But I cannot reach anyone now. It’s getting colder and I can’t get the furnace fixed. Lousy situation.

I have had a issue with my refrigerator not being cold. A service man came out several times for the same issue since September and it still is not fixed. I had to throw out so much food because. Do you realize how much money in food I had to throw away???? If this was fixed the first time I would not have an issue. I don’t think it can be fixed and here I sit with no refrigeration, spoiled food and waiting for service to fix it once again. Not only that but the repairmen keep canceling my appointments and rescheduling which is absurd because no one can be without a refrigerator for days or weeks. Come on This has been going on since September. Please help me in resolving this issue. They fix it and it happens again, it keeps not cooling. Help!!!!

The time that they scheduled, they never showed up, they never called, they didn't text us or nothing. So we sat from 9:00 in the morning until 6:00 at night when they finally showed up. And now, yesterday, they were supposed to be here between 11:00 and 3:00. They never showed up, never called, didn't answer our texts. We called the service center and he said, sorry we're closed. We've been going without hot water for going on over seven days in my rental and then we have a washing machine that's been down for seven days in my house that I resided and we have Choice Warranty on both and it's been a very bad experience.

People are usually friendly on the phone. But service that I'm receiving now, I am just continuing out of convenience, just in case. When I look at the cost effectiveness with how much I use the service, it's not worth it up to this point. Also, the service continued by deceit because I was not aware that I was still subscribed. I had never subscribed, I always paid in full, but when the time was up they renewed the subscription without my consent. They did give me a few extra months and I did continue afterwards just in case I needed it.

They led you to believe that if they can't find somebody to fix it then you can have it fixed by somebody else of you're choosing as long as they're bonded and insured. But that's not the case. I was told that when I first signed up and then I find out that the people that I hired had to jump through hoops and it was very difficult to get anything approved with the problem with my air conditioner. So I'm not real happy about that.

Curious to ask for a review when you haven't delivered on the service after waiting 3 weeks. What do you expect the review will state? I have had the warranty for more than two years, never had to use it. Now I have two claims, one is for my refrigerator, I called the claim in about three weeks ago still waiting to get my refrigerator fixed. Hopefully soon. Waiting on a part. The second is for my dishwasher even more curious. The tech came out and said you need your soap dispenser replaced and the mother board replaced but they can't be obtained. I said ok then I want a new appliance. That threw the tech off apparently he didn't know this was a warrant call and he said I'll try to find and order the items. Stil waiting to hear. That claim is about 3 weeks old too. The dishwasher issue seemed suspicious.

I just made a claim about my boiler, you could not find anyone to come to my house to look at it and weeks later we were very cold without any heat. You asked me if I wanted to find someone myself, so I went looking, I wanted to see if I could find someone before clicking on a response. But before I could answer they were at my door to fix it. I didn't get another chance to respond before you finally after weeks asigned someone to come. By that time the same day I had it fix. Now you refuse to help in paying the bill. I didn't ask you to cover all of it only some of it and you refused. So now I am getting a lawyer, this is just a dirty trick you use for me to get screwed. When I asked the Watson Bros. if they would just bill you they refused to come out unless I paid they said that Choice home warranty does not pay their men the right pay and they lose money by using them. I did not get any good response from anyone when it came to your business. So now I have to result in this and the better business bureau will hear about it too.

What a mistake we made choosing this company. They told us to choose our own AC repair co. since no one on their end was available when our AC went out. Ended up costing us $253. and they never sent us the reimbursement they promised for $119. Stiffing us for the difference when it was them who couldn't find an AC person to do the job. Then when I submitted a online claim that our garage door opener wasn't working possibly due to electrical issue since a wall outlet also wasn't working. They sent a garage repair person who said the motherboard was burned out and it would take 3-4 mo. to get a new OR I could get a whole new system and pay the $450. difference from what Choice would pay. I asked how that would fix the wall socket that was also not working. He then plugged the garage door opener to another socket and the garage door opener worked! It was an electrical problem. What a scam! To add insult to that, Choice closed out the ticket and said I need to pay ANOTHER $75. to send out an electrician since I submitted that it was a garage door opener issue. So now it will cost me $150. Why do I even have this service? It is costing me more money. I asked to speak to a supervisor and the agent said they were busy and would call me back within 2hrs. I never got a call back. I should have stayed with 2-10 Home Warranty. They were way better and have American based agents. This is what happens when you try to save money. Don't waste your time and money on this company.

A CHW Technician came on Oct. 27 to repair my stove. He had to order some parts, and I received notification that he would return on Nov. 3 between 11-3 to finish the repair. I cancelled an appointment I had so I would be here when he arrived. He had not arrived by 3:30, so I called him but it went to voicemail and said it was full. I called CHW around 4 because I didn’t know what else to do. They tried to get in touch with the technician and got the same message. I was told they would follow up and get back in touch with me. I had not heard back from anyone by Tuesday, Nov. 7, so I called CHW back and was informed that one of the parts had not come in, but when it did, an appointment would be rescheduled to finish the repair. I understand parts can be delayed, but I don’t understand why I wasn’t informed of this before the appointment time. This was my very first claim with CHW, and I just renewed my contract in the amount of $1,559.25. I am not pleased with how this claim has been handled, and am wondering if I did right in renewing my contact. A courtesy phone call to let me know the part hadn’t come in would have been appreciated. I also feel that CHW should have called me back and given me an update without me having to call them on Nov. 7. I hope this claim can be resolved without much further delay. I also hope that if I have any future claims. I can rate CHW as excellent!!

Most of the time the company make things really complicated. They don’t give the support. I’m so frustrated to deal with them, and unfortunately I do not have many options. I don’t understand why this company does not make an effort to give the best service. It seems that they are almost always trying not to pay for services. We paid a lot of money for this “home warranty” and they just make time waiting us to get desperate and get service from other place, and them won’t have to pay for a the service they supposed to do. They do everything difficult for the contractors too. There should be a regulation for this kind of companies.

On my last repair call, I asked that Choice let me call the technician that had last repaired my washed 6 months prior since he knew what parts would need replacing this time. Choice said no. I had to wait for a technician to answer the repair call. Both the previous technician and the new technician said the main control board and interface user assembly needed to be replaced. Choice claim specialist didn’t approve the request and only approved the main control be replaced. Both technicians said my washer issue will occur again if only the main control is replaced. Choice said no.
