Over the past two years, my experience with Choice Home Warranty has been consistently disappointing. There were only two aspects of the service that proved satisfactory: the cost of the plan and the simplicity of submitting a claim. Beyond that, the value simply was not there. Although the deductible per incident is $100, any appliance requiring repairs exceeding $333 (after deductible) was not repaired. Instead, Choice issued a replacement allowance capped at $333. In practice, this meant that even a high-end $5,000 appliance—such as a Wolf stove—was valued at $333, without exception. My assigned case manager repeatedly referenced the policy language stating decisions are made “at the discretion of Choice Home Warranty.” While the policy never discloses a specific cap, I was told this $333 limit is applied uniformly to all appliances, regardless of brand, type, or age, and it is not disclosed at the point of sale. Another significant issue was the difficulty in getting a technician assigned to my claims. On one occasion, with a furnace failure in the middle of a Wisconsin winter, my claim sat open for three weeks with no updates, no follow-up, and no response despite multiple calls and emails. I eventually located the CEO’s direct email address and informed him of the situation. Only after that contact did a case manager reach out—approximately 12 hours later—with a proposed path forward. The solution required me to pay for the repair out of pocket, have the technician call for prior authorization, and—if approved—wait up to six weeks for reimbursement. Based on these repeated experiences, I will not be renewing my service with Choice Home Warranty, nor can I recommend the company to others.

When something breaks, they do not send qualified technicians promptly—sometimes no one shows up at all. Instead of honoring their coverage, they look for any excuse to deny the claim, whether it’s blaming “pre-existing conditions” or saying the issue isn’t covered. Communication is poor, delays are constant, and the entire process feels designed to avoid paying for repairs. If you value your time and money, steer clear of this company. A warranty should provide support, not stress.

Thos company is horrible. Please don't get it. I've been without a frightened for almost 3 months. In my area only one person and he has told them several times it can't be fixed or he can't fix it. We are losing our food because it cools sometimes on tge frig side but then will shoot up to 54 degrees. Left side doesn't work. I don't here from them at all. I have to call them and talking to people in India I get nowhere. I have filed a complaint with the news station to assist me in getting this resolved

took a long time to get someone out to look at problem then they just put a band aid on it to get it though not fix the problem the tecs had to call choice to get told what they were aloud to do.so when they were here they found out they were not getting paid what they normally bill so they were mad and only did half a job. Waited from 6/30 to 7/29 for a repair person to be assigned to fix the ice dispenser on the refrigerator. I requested a call from the supervisor which never occured. There were notes attached to my account that weren't true... That a repair person was at my residence on 7/4. Poor customer service, no accountability or responsibility of your staff team. I'm searching for a replacement company on Google.

When I call in an issue that needs fixing, it takes weeks and I mean weeks to get a technician to repair the issue. The only light in my living room fell out of the ceiling, hanging by the wires. After calling the service number twice to escalate the problem it still took 2 weeks to get fixed and the technician tried to charge me an additional $50 for the visit. I called in about my AC unit 2 weeks ago and the claim is still in the “Dispatch” state.

I placed a claim for A/C because not cooling very well and running almost constantly. Took Choice Home 4 WEEKS to find a technician. Then claim denied due to repair needed was part of "normal maintenance" and our responsibility. I disagree. Had to have it fixed so had to pay technician $480 !! I think Choice Home should paid at least part of it.

Same claim was denied 2 times after 2 different companies came out on a service call and found the exact same problem with my heating unit. I was told that both companies said my unit was working properly and my claim was closed. I was told by both companies that came out to service my unit that the induced draft motor was bad and needed to be replaced. I was shown pictures and a video of the bad motor and bearings. I will be filling a claim with Triple A and the Better Business Bureau and with Travelers Insurance.

I filed a claim through Choice Home Warranty and was denied without ever speaking to a representative until the appeal process. I wouldn’t doubt that most of their claims get denied and given to the appeals process as a standard of operations and primary process. I’ve used other home warranty companies and was taken care of and made whole. Choice Home Warranty had poor customer service, did not communicate with me until the appeals process after denial and even at that time appeared to look for how to deny my appeal instead of understanding my appeal justification .

Sends me a guy to check my AC after 8 days of my request. The AC technician comes and changes capacitor , does not determine if the AC was fixed and if the cooling is there. If we set the temperature thermostat to 72, it will be still 84 inside home. Another AC technician they scheduled will come after another 7 days . The Texas temperature is in 100s and I have been without my cooling system for more than 2 1/2 weeks. Frustrating

AC company came out, said he replaced a part but I stood by him the whole time and all he did was black tape a box over & over & stick it back in. Plugged it in & blew my electric out in 1/2 the house. They want me to call an electrician & pay another $100.00. I complained& they cancelled my request. I paid a contractor to fix it myself. Extremly long time for CHW to assign trouble calls (over two weeks!) Repeated reschedules even after waiting 2 weeks for initial appointment. Tech showed up after 8 PM and decided a motor/pump was bad without even turning the appliance on. Required $180 check made out to "Michelle". DId not provide receipt ir invoice. Homeowner had to provide a receipt. Worst experience with any home warranty service call

This is the worst , most disrespectful company I have dealt with in my almost 80 years. I have gotten screwed three different times. First the receptionists I encountered, 95 percent of the time were very rude. One day it took me calling back for over 3 hours until I finally got someone to listen to the problem I was having. I kept getting pushed to “push this button, push this button-numerous times/before leave your number for callback-no one to talk to(every time I called). I have had it with this lousy company. You can never get hold of anyone and if you do, they transfer you to the recording “Leave your name and number and someone will get back with you asap.” This DO NOT HAPPEN! Also, they are only paying $194 of a microwave that is only 4 years old but the panel blew during a storm. I’m told that I can only go to Lowes Home improvement for a replacement. I found only one same brand at Lowe’s and when I went to buy, after accepting their HCW offer, I would have to wait up to 30 days for a gift card. Not a good company!!!!!

Customer service is awful. They are confusing. It took two weeks for them to complete a service repair referral. After the repair company could not fix the appliance, it took 30 days for them to send the money for a replacement appliance. I called several times reporting that I had medication which needed to be refrigerated. That did not rush the process of processing the claim. Choice home warranty is very slow to fix needed repairs or replacement replacements.

I was not able to get my Reimbursement Claim resolved. I was told the technician had to submit the information and the company said that's not what they do. They send the client the pictures and the client sends the pictures to Choice Warranty. No one was able to tell me how to submit them.
