I chose choice because I could cover my pool without it being all that expensive. When my dishwasher broke I thought I was going to get a brand new dishwasher but I only got a small payment. I think that it needs to be clear that you don't get a brand new appliance you just get a small amount of money to help go towards a replacement.

They communicate quickly and answer your questions. It's sometimes difficult to understand what actually is covered or not. I had issues with my air conditioner but the problems were not covered by choice home warranty.

I had a water heater in a home that is a rental property. I carry three home warranties through Choice on three different properties. This particular one had a water heater that began to fail. I called to send a tech out and it took him three days to get it checked. I found the tech to be exceptionally awful. They went out there, identified the problem, and the claim was denied. The cover the water heater but not the holding tank, which is the same. I have worked with numerous home warranty companies since 1980 and I never in my life have experienced this. It's the worst company I've ever dealt with.

Based off of the experience that I've had so far with my other claims, I would put them in sort of the middle because most of the claims have no been covered. There was an issue with the refrigerator and we had issues with the air conditioning and there was some sort of an excuse which they came up with and the claim was denied.

The only claim I''ve had took over 4 months to complete - the choice warranty reps were rude until the very last person who was exceptional. The others essentially told me it was my problem. Only when I asked to speak to someone to return all of my money and cancel my account with Choice did I get a woman who actually cared. One Choice supervisor even disconnected the call.

My A/C stopped working so I called Choice. I was given a claim number and told a technician would arrive in 7 days. When I objected I was told I could call another company. Just have the technician call with the diagnosis and Choice would reimburse me according to their fee schedule. I called an authorized dealer and a technician arrived the next day. He called Choice with his diagnosis for a new system and was told I would have to wait for authorization. After waiting 2 days I called Choice and was told my technician never called. During the next week my technician called 2 more times and each time I was told he never called. I had the system replaced at my expense and cancelled the plan with Choice.

Non performance. I was promised a great service and even disclaimed that my AC was old but still working. When it needed replacing they denied my claim. I was told when I bought the warranty that the age didn''t matter, that if if needed replacing that your company received discounts from all of the major companies and my out of pocket would be minimal. I was not even offered this service. The sales person did such a slick job that I bought a 3 year policy. Just a few months in when my claim was denied I asked for my money back. I was refunded for year 2 & 3 but not year 1. I am a Realtor and was offered extended coverage for each warranty I referred. It seemed that the sales person was more interested in getting more business than taking care of my needs. His name was Bernard H. I will not be recommending your company to anyone.

If the service doesn't get better I will cancel my warranty. I was not happy with my experience filing a claim. My washing machine broke and it took 10 days to have someone look at it. When he decided it couldn't be fixed they declined to replace it and called someone else out for a second opinion who never showed up. They passed my claim around and didn't end up giving me enough money to cover a new washer.

Not easy to contact, you wait online for an hour. After an hour, I hung up and called sales and they got me a manger, who answered right away. I was calling because they over charged me. They are cheaper but I am not happy about having to wait an hour.

I renewed my policy and these IDIOTS continue to call me everyday, waking me up ( I work nights) to tell me that my warranty has expired! They are total IDIOTS! They can't see in their computer that the warranty was renewed? They are IDIOTS!

My very first claim was denied. Modern refrigerators have water/ice dispensers but these are not covered. Mine leaked all over the kitchen and my repair request was denied. Reminds me of the TV commercial where the guy calls in for hvac repair only to have the representative say, "Sorry, we don't cover air conditioners". That is like having health insurance that only covers catastrophic illness when you need full coverage. Read the small print before buying.

I called to cancel, and they did a good job cancelling. I did have a problem with someone who helped me. I got one policy on a house I'm buying and one on a house I'm selling. I cancelled the one on the house I'm buying, and he got them all mixed up. He had prices mixed up and the addresses as well.

When my dishwasher wasn't working, they replaced it. It wasn't any of the brands I wanted, and they said I'd pay the difference for a higher brand one. Instead, they gave me a cheaper one and said I have to pay a lot higher than before because they can only cover so much. There have been instances where the company couldn't fix a couple of things, so my dad fixed them. They also came in and said my hot water heater was leaking, but I told them it was my air conditioning. I do think the workers are honest and trustworthy.

It is a pure scam! Choice sent an AC technician who demanded that I pay $250 for leak test before he could proceed with any repair!? Under the pressure to get it repaired and to make my tenant happy I paid. After he checked, I ask him was wrong with the AC system (over the phone) he would not disclose to me, and said that he could only share the results with Choice?! 2 days went by and I did not get a response from Choice, calls wouldn't go through after going through the long menu... Finally, I called the repairman to demand a report of the leak test since I was the one paid for the test! Repairman sent an email with 2 lines: found leaks in the condenser coils; the full system needs to be replaced. He knew all along there were leaks because the freon has leaked out, I thought the leak test was to identify leak locations in order to fix them. So he tricked me to pay for unnecessary service, and his goal was to sell me a new unit. Choice finally called, and send an email to deny repair using the information the repairman gave them (which I paid for it). Choice claimed the malfunctioning was due to leaks in the condenser coils, and that was not covered in the warranty. First all, why was I charged for the test leak if Choice was using for their diagnosis? Leaks in the coils are the most common problems in AC systems'if they don't cover this repair and then what do they cover? Choice is absolutely a disgrace! Their representatives are rude and dishonest. They made all sorts of promises when selling the subscription, and tricked me into buying a 5 year long warranty and I trusted his word so I did and paid in full because of discount offered. I feel like a fool now! Shame on Choice for deceiving home owners! This also delayed AC repair for several days while my tenants suffered in the summer heat which made me feel even worse. I will be seeking legal actions against Choice, just because I believe service companies like choice should not be out there to continue scamming other home owners.

Had a double oven control panel fail, tech there from SEARS the next day verified panel out and also unable to find replacement. He said it would take 2 weeks to find one, no word from anyone after 2 weeks, checked Choice Warranty (CW) web site, found claim was dropped. For 2 weeks after that I was told repeatedly someone would be in contact in 72 hrs. They finally sent another SEARS man a month later, he verified the defect and the next day I verified with SEARS the contaced (CW). That afternoon I called (CW) and they claimed they had not gotten a response from SEARS, I told them I needed to talk to a supervisor. Well after a month, they said I would be getting a settlement offer in the next hour. I was offered $449 for a Double self cleaning convection oven with digital display. I immediately called them and they said they were not required to replace the oven with one that I had but rather they got their value from "contractor grade" ovens at their wholesale price. So all the while I thought I was protected from loss in reality, I would have been protected if I had only the very cheapest oven I could find. If I had that sort of appliance how likely would I be to invest in a home warranty. Lord knows what they would offer if my TRANE Furnace and Air Conditioner Failed.

We can't get through to customer support very easily. It takes hours to get through to them, and they keep changing us from department to department. They come up with excuses for declining the warranty - which has happened multiple times to me. They keep declining my claims with unacceptable excuses, so I'm very dissatisfied.
