Initially, they claimed that they wouldn't repair my AC because the technician allegedly diagnosed the problem as a pre-existing condition. To clarify the situation, I had all parties on the phone at the same time — the technician, the warranty representative, and myself. Despite this, the representative continued to lie about the diagnosis. The technician even showed me the report they submitted to the warranty company, which contradicted the company's claims. Yet, the representative persisted with their false narrative. What’s even more frustrating is that they never returned my calls or sent me an email denying my claim. I had to follow up multiple times just to get any response. It’s clear that this company is dishonest not only to me but also to the technicians they send out for warranty issues — they seem to be complicit in these lies. While their prices may seem attractive, the unprofessionalism, dishonesty, and lack of transparency make them a terrible choice. Absolutely horrible. File the claim online they said, it will be much faster. So I did. Filed a claim online, on July 14th, 2025, early AM to replace/fix garbage disposal. Got email confirmation someone will contact me within 24 to 48 hrs. A week went by, no one contacted me. I called customer service the following Monday, no one had any updates except they were looking for a tech to do the job. And, they said I was put on the priority lists, someone should be contacting me in 24/48hrs...again. 48 hrs. later, no one has contacted me. I called them again. still no updates, they are still calling around looking for a tech to do the job. Now they say, hire your own tech but he has to do a diagnostic report, upload it to the website and then wait for approval. WHAT? how long will that take? Approx. 2 to 3 days, up to a week. So that will put me at least 2 weeks out, minimum, without my disposal. These guys suck!!!

Equipment to fix furniture was mailed to my home with no info to as to what it was for what to do with it. Furniture company was not notified it was mailed to me. When repair man came he only has order to repair one chair when I put in request for two and different times. Time of repair was excessive.

Very disappointed your company. My garage door opener would not work. I sent a claim in with your company. The person comes out and diagnose. The problem. Bearings are going out of my garage door. I need two new sensors. One spring is broke and the other one is about to break. The wire that connects the two sensors got caught in my chain and also broke the company that comes out to fix the garage door notes all of these things cause your company and first choice Home Warranty gives him the go-ahead to replace one spring $685 later. Plus a $75 service fee your company disappointed me and I will not be renewing.

I do not understand the point. I purchased my first home in April. It’s a newer build but still 9 years old so I purchased a warranty. A month after purchase I noticed a soft spot in the floor of our shower…not covered. Recently I noticed a water spot under the shut off in my basement; concrete visibly wet and dripping coming from the pipe above. Files a claim and they sent a plumber out. He comes and takes photos, says warranty should have no issue covering it and he has seen this multiple times. Only thing is they used pex ultra piping in my house; so NOT covered. Waiting to hear back how much this is going to cost me out of pocket. I just don’t understand the point in having this if when things go wrong nothing is covered.

Absolutely ridiculous outcome. Company was willing to pay $1,800 in parts but when a part was back ordered and the supplier said it could be sooner but average time for part is a few months. Choice decided they’d only give me $800 towards a new fridge. Now I don’t understand this at all. It doesn’t make any sense to me. They also told me the check for $800 takes 30 to receive it. It’s already been 3 weeks since it broke!! What’s 4 more?!

I filed my first claim for my air conditioner that was not working. The technician came out and told me the compressor was broken. Then I received an email from the company stating I had to pay $3100 out-of-pocket to repair my air conditioner. When I inquired as to why such a huge amount to have the warranty company, fix my air condition, they stated that items needed to be. replace that we’re not covered under the warranty. I had a conversation with most of the claims adjuster as well as a technician, and I received two different stories from each of them. I do not trust them and I feel like I’m being scammed out of additional monies I would not have to spend otherwise. But now I have no choice, but to deal with this company that could never use again.

They took a long time to assign a contractor to my claim. I did observe that the contractor did not due a complete in investigation. When choice warranty assigned another contractor, he was located 1 5 hous away a d refuse to come unless he had more business in my area, when I called choice warranty on why they assigned a contractor so far away they replied he was the first one to answer the call for service. That told me that you don't hire quality contractors.

I had a water heater go out. They came over and tried to fix it but that same night it went out again. The technician said he needed to be replaced. It was taking too long so I had to pay for a new water heater aside from the warranty. So Choice warranty never came through for me. Extremely disappointed and so I canceled my Choice Home Warranty!

In below freezing temperatures it took 7 days to get someone here to take care of the problem. I spent over 8 hundred dollars on “plug in electric heaters” to stop from freezing. The garage and house both went down so I had to pay $200 for two heaters for one visit. I’m into this problem dollar wise for more than I spent on the insurance which makes it more than twice as much than with the insurance .

Very poor level of customer service and support. Very inadequate level of communication. Very disappointing level of commitment. Complete failure to coordinate work with service providers. I reported a non-working wall oven/microwave combo and the service provider came for a dishwasher inspection. I am still without an oven/microwave unit. I have all the documentations to substantiate my claims and I am considering elevating this to the Agency having jurisdiction over CHW’s operations.

I have had 2 claims in 6 months with Choice Home Warranty. One plumbing and one refrigerator. Both took over a month to complete. The refrigerator required a part not covered according to CHW for $165. The tech said the repair could not be completed without it. As a former customer of American Home Shield I would recommend them as I will be returning to AHS.

Our Microwave died despite several attempts to repair it and the replacement value they gave us did not take into consideration it is part of oven/microwave unit so now we have to make up about $2500 out of pocket!! They do not follow through with claims you have to constantly call them. And then they don’t cover the full amount of the claim very dissatisfied. I filed my claim around 15 January something like that and we had a cold front it got down to 45° in my house. No one offered to bring heaters out or anything like that. Still don’t have my heater and today’s 19 February had to go with a private vendor send in an estimated receipt still waiting to find out what they’re gonna pay, but the majority of it is coming out of my pocket what happened to if it’s broken, we replace it.

Technician came to fix Washer leak and didn’t fix issue then went on vacation and we scheduled an appt. for when he came back. Called to confirm the appt., morning of and he said he didn’t have me on his books but would be there between 11 and early afternoon. No show and Washer is still not fixed. Also, am waiting for a kitchen sink leak. The original window was supposed to be 1-5 and then got a message that they would be there between 4-6. It is now almost 7 and still no technician.

Representatives lack courtesy and shut off ability to comment or respond to comments to advise what the appliance company is doing. Vendors do not tell the truth of what they are really doing to the homeowner and Choice doesn’t want to hear our side.
