We have had many low skilled repair people come to fix things at our house. The a/c issues were the worst but the first one was where a guy came out that actually stole our ice maker so you had to buy us a new one. I have bene told by one that you don't pay market rates for repairs so only the less skilled accept the jobs.

You sent me Lowes e gift cards for my refrigerator when it died. That doesn't do me a bit of good unless I was going to purchase one there. Plus I waited 5 weeks for reimbursement. I had to spend my money to buy another refrigerator. So now I am stuck with the gift cards from Lowes. You should have given me a check instead. Don't decide how you want to reimburse give the customer a choice. Hope you reach ot to me. Will see. Thinking about going to another home warranty after this episode. How about taking what I have left with Lowes and reimbursing me with a check. Do you think that you can make that happen.

They try to offer self fixit with low dollar amounts for replacement. They disqualify too much. They don't always find contractors who know the appliance in question- thus resulting in multiple call backs before item gets fixed or replaced. They attempt to get contractors to say item can be fixed vs replaced when replacement due to age is the right answer.

Choice Home Warranty sent an unscrupulous plumber to our home. He fixed the problem but a week later was threatening to put a Leon on our property. When we didn't respond he put a lock on our water line demanding we pay 750. + another 250. to remove the lock. Called the city who came and cut off the lock. The plumber during the call with the city, threatened the city with a law suit. He came again and broke pipes that we the homeowner were responsible to have fixed. In the meantime we got vulgar text messages from him. So we are out the cost to belong to Choice, the 75. we paid him when he came and 450. to another plumber to fix the mess he made. I'm disappointed in the way Choice handled the situation and the fact that they have not reimbursed us for the costs.

The price is affordable but half the claims have been turned down. For example the inside of garbage disposal was rejected because of rust when there was no visible rust. They can be difficult to work with. Simple repairs are done promptly.

So far, we have had two technicians come out for the same issue, but the first claim was closed even though our refrigerator wasn't fixed. The second company sent a tech out who said they would order a part and have been giving us the runaround now for a week. We have spent $500 for the warranty and $130 for companies to come pretend to help. They are taking our cash (they won't accept credit cards) and just disappearing. Even Choice can't get in touch with them. I do not trust that Choice has vetted these companies, and I have no idea who I'm letting into my house. I could be $630 toward a new fridge, but it's been a total waste.

I've had to wait a month and counting to get my furnace repaired. Ive been given 3 different dates now for the repair and each time the contractor didn't show up and no calls. The contractor refuses my phone calls but will answer for choice warranty. I now have to experience Christmas with no heat.ce

I just got off the phone with some sort of renewal specialist after I told him my decision not to renew was because of my experience with their customer service and the vendors they use this past year. No shows by vendors, lack of communication, and no matter how great the inconvenience I had to encounter people who could have cared less before I got to someone who deals with renewals told me I'd never be able to rejoin with an attitude because he didn't like my honesty proving my frustration and problem with Choice Home Warranty. Agents seriously need training in customer service, etiquette and apathy when dealing with customers. Parents raising kids in the middle of summer and AC Goes out expect help, I currently have a dryer not working since Nov 3 and the vendor has been here 3 times and we are spending grocery money to dry clothes for our 3 kids with only one income after a job loss. This has been a ridiculous year with choice home warranty and I will not recommend this company to anyone and after the conversation with the agent today I will be sure to leave an honest review on every platform that will allow me to leave one since that's the way Choice home treats customers who decide not to renew because of legitimate issues.

Is the way you schedule a technician to come out and not involving the customer in the appointment time is beyond belief. You bypass the customer and go directly to the technician and then you send an email telling the customer when their appointment is. I've never heard or seen that in any other company before that is inconsiderate to say the least.

I had a problem with my garage door opener. While the tech was here another issue was found with it but it wouldn't be fixed then. I had to call and make another claim to get it fixed. Absolutely ridiculous!!!!! Also, I talked with the company's manager on the phone, he had quite an attitude. I will not renew when my contract expires in May. The only reason I rated a 2 above was because i had called before for another issue on my stove and was very happy.

Did a great job of taking care of my claim. My dryer can not be fixed so they gave me a gift card to Lowes to get another one. Problem is it took three weeks to find out they were going to replace the dryer and now they tell me I'll get the gift card in about 30 days. So I'll be without a dryer for at least seven weeks

The warranty is not worth investing your money. Their ploy is to cover small repairs as expected. But for any mid-priced repair they offer to “replace” your equipment. However, they do not replace based on brand cost. They simply low-ball your reimbursement. I have had 2 pieces of equipment that they REFUSED to repair, but offered me funds for replacement. To replace my 2 pies ss of equipment with the same brand, no upgrades cost me $7700. They gave me $1100. It cost me more to replace the equipment than the cost of the warranty. Both pieces of equipment were repairable, but the company would not repair. I am locked into a 3 year that I can't get out of because they subtract all claims cost to your warranty fee, so at this point I have no “funds” available for reimbursement to me.

I have had a very poor experience so far with my first and only claim regarding a leaking water heater. A technician from an assigned plumbing firm has been to my home twice over a period of three weeks and the problem is still not resolved. Worse than that, the technician submitted a report that there is no mechanical problem with the heater and nothing to be done. The problem with that is that I still have a leaking water heater and noone can tell me that is normal.

Consistently I have had to find my own 'technicians' for any claims that I have submitted. Recently I submitted a claim for my AC/Heat Pump that needed to be replaced. I expected that I would have to find my own technician, so I was going to have the same company that does my maintenance, and which has done repair on the unit, to do the replacement. I completed the claim and now there appears to be a company come out of the dark and agree to come to the country to diagnosis, submit findings and probably do the replacement. I cancelled that appointment and scheduled the replacement with my maintenance company. I totally understand that most companies do not want to travel here to South Central Virginia (the country) because it isn't cost effective especially with the travel. BUT why when there is a 'big ticket item' to be done there is someone who consents to do the traveling. I am considering not renewing my contract next year.

We have made 6 warranty claims on our plumbing. Obviously there is a deeper problem. One call, we had pictures from a home inspection. The plumber took his own pictures, did NOTHING and still charged us $65. Choice approved the claim, but sent a different plumber who then had to charge us ANOTHER $65.

Good sales people and they have been good about getting good qualified people out. We did get a new garage door opened but it did cost us almost three hundred dollars. I don't know exactly what the warranty covered. I wasn't exactly happy but the person that came was good. They did a great job with the air conditioning.

Last year they seemed to work pretty well but I am unable to get claims right now so I am not feeling good about it. I wasn't able to get someone to get a fuse replaced. No one wanted to deal with Choice because it takes too long to get reimbursed. I had to call another electrician to come and get it done. I also was denied a claim for a plumber. I don't think I will renew my policy when it comes time.

They sent someone that did not know what they werere doing because the problem is still there. Choice warranty responds quickly, they technician just is not solving the problem. It's a temporary solve. Between the past two years I called on Choice warranty about my unit. Probably around seven eight times.

Major problem I had with choice warranty they did not repair my problem. We had stove the malfunctioned in a rental unit and they could not replace it and did not replace it and send out repair parts and repair parts made stove malfunction even more.
