You have to fight for every claim. Called 4 days in a row concerning a claim and got "it's not covered". But for an upgrade of $250 the claim will be covered. Paid for upgrade and still "not covered " By the 4th day, after paying $750 in upgrades on my 2 properties, it still was not covered. This was for a garage door and it would not open. We paid $500, an emergency upgrade as you normally have to wait 30 days for it to take effect. Said they would send us $250 back since we didn't use them to fix garage door. We ended up paying out of pocket at a much lower price than Choice was charging. Four days, endless hrs on the phone each day, and all that money to upgrade and Choice did nothing but lie to us. I'd never recommend this company.

I found a new warranty company this year, but I hated it. There was a problem with the air conditioner, so I applied and solved it, but the company in charge of the repair asked her daughter for money and took it. But no one solved the problem. I still haven't received my unfairly charged money. After a year, I think I'll have to look for another warranty company.

Highly disappointed that I complained about my AC not working. After paying my deductible, the provide adiced your company for replacement of uni, paid my deductible. Your company only went to pay a little fraction and wanted me to pay a huge amount to the provider. I was shocked because that was not what they told me. I called the customer service rep, she was very rude and asked if I want to accept the deal - yes or no? I told her mo and she said a case rep will contact me. I waited and waited for weeks, nobody contacted me. So I called back, again the female rep was rude and asked me to complain on line. As I was talking to her to note my complain since i already have her on line, she banged the phone on me. The last time I called, I got a male rep, who appoloziedand entered my complained. Promised someone will get in touch within 48 hours. And it did, but unfortunately the lady that was supposed to called me did not because she was still busy with an customer. The rep that came on the li e was very rude. First she did not apologize for been very late . And our conversation did not go very well We were just arguing back on forth on the phone when she told me that I have to start all over and pay another deductible to the provider since I did not respond on time. That was a RIP-off.

Choice send a contractor out to my home(a no name brand co) After the person left my unit was making a loud screaming sound later on we had not air. When we had freezing air b4 this co was dispatched to my home. Now Choice wants me to pay and out-of-pocket cost if 400.00 to have it fixed by the same company that broke it. No thank you. When I inquired about why was I paying when they sent the co out choice said it's not their fault. It's between the co that they sent out and me now. Pitiful I've never heard of such a lie. I will never sign on with this co again. And if you do ck the credentials of the company that comes to your house that's been dispatched from them if they have bad ratings please send them away.

They sent a tech out to look at my dishwasher. He said a Roach infestation caused the damage. Utter BS. I have lived in my house for 2 years and have NEVER had 1 Roach. But they believed the tech, over the customer. Even though the control panel is wobbling in there. Cancelled them and moving on to someone that values their customers. Giving them 2 stars instead of 1, because that did fix my A/C a couple months ago

You sent an unlicensed technician to work on my air-conditioning who quoted me $1500 to repair it. When I had a licensed repair man come out it was a house call of $60 plus $15 for blowing the air conditioner out with pressurized nitrogen. That allow the AC unit to go back to normal and properly work. When your technician said it had to be taken apart taken out of the house and chemically cleaned. When I asked to see the license for the people you were sending to my home you told me that I could not see it, then after speaking with several different companies they all seem said they send out students they don't have their licenses yet so be careful and be aware .

I like that they have sent good technicians. But when my air conditoner broke, they sent a tech to fix the unit but would not authorize him to remove the water in the units pan. The water was a direct result of the units failure and in no way my fault due to neglect. The tech wanted to remove the water but said that CHOICE would not allow him.

In theory it is great thought that if there is no CHW service technician in your area that you can get your own. I am having issues being reimbursed the full amount and I feel that CHW's responses are vague and I continually try to provide them with additional info and it as not been resolved. Feeling frustrated that it is Oct and the repair was in Aug.

It seemed like you had to fight with them to your issues resolved. I recommended them to my daughter and have been toltally disappointed. She is totally disappointed in the company. It appeared they were picking things out of the contract to deny her claims. She had one open and and the tech never completed the job and CHW closed the claim without fixing the issue.

My upright freezer should have been covered . When it broke I found out it wasn't even though I paid the extra cost for it and had an e-mail from their company saying it was covered. I added a 2nd refrigerator about a month or two after I initially signed up and they said that was covered not the freezer. They would only cover the freezer if I dropped the refrigerator coverage for a month even though I sent them a copy of the e-mail (which had their letter head and address on it) that said the freezer was covered.

Had an issue with refrigerator and was told I would get check to replace refrigerator. I recieved a gift certificate to Lowes. Talked to rep abiut issue and I was told that I could not get check bc that was the CW policy and talking to another person would not help issue and case manager disconnected call. I had talked to a person above case manager prior to last call that assured me that a check would be sent within 30 days bc I could not find a replacement at Lowes for price. Called back to check on progress and that is when I was told CW policy would not allow check, only gift certificate to Lowes. Will sign with other company once my contract is over. Bad customer service and policies. Shop before you sign.

Not everything is resolved completely. They are trying to skirt around issues. One example is with the microwave. They tried to tell us they wouldn’t pay for it. It wasn’t working and it was too old. Finally after a while, they paid some but the value they gave us was very low for the appliance. Only half of the techs are competent. The other half are not properly vetted.

The choice home warranty customer service department is very hard to contact and once you email them. The couple times I have used some of the people they are efficient, very friendly and they come out, quite quickly. I'm trying to use my warranty, but I didn't realize it was a thirty day waiting period and so I was told that they would no longer cover the air conditioning unit in one of the units, but it works properly now so that was a good thing.

My experience was atrocious. After many emails with canned-disingenuous responses and many disingenuous calls with your call center, I finally got a agent that reached out (while I was on the phone) to two technicians in my area. He gave me their names, so I could follow up. One of them called me back, and he agreed to come and take a look at my air conditioner even though he hasn't worked for you for years because you don't pay enough. However, he felt sorry for me. He fixed the problem, and supposedly I will be reimbursed in 30 days. I need to say that your new policy of having your customers arrange for repairs because you have a shortage of technicians, is completely wrong, and it is BAIT and SWITCH situation. It is not what I paid for. It is your job not mine.

Quick response, janky contractors …. My repair was told it was repaired when it wasn't… warranty denied the review and appeal. Didn't listen to me or utility company about the problem instead went off the plumber who didn't complete the order… I hired another plumber and paid out of pocket over something I pay a warranty company for… they were so quick to deny my request to fix the “repair “

On 9/2 my water heater began leaking, I opened a claim with Choice Home Warranty (CHW) to have it taken care of. I received a response from CHW saying water heaters are NOT covered for leaking. I'm 66 years old, owned 11 houses and R&R dozens of water heaters, when they go it's because of a leak. I asked for a Case Manager to be assigned, one was quickly and a meeting was scheduled ASAP (20-days out). 30-minutes before the meeting a reminder was sent for me to be ready for the call. At the time of the call, there was no call. I replied to the reminder 5-minutes into the scheduled call saying I was waiting, nothing. I responded again 10-minutes and 15-minutes in to all the email addresses I had for CHW, NOTHING. Now is 26-days after the claim was filed and I still have heard NOTHING.

Lack of communication. I had to purchase a new washing machine. I was told I would receive "FUNDS" toward that purchase. Instead, I received a Loew's card. Never requested that card, I never shop there, prices too high. Now I am forced to look for something to buy to use this Loew's card.

Totally disgusted with the coverage of my refrigerator. The ice dispenser chute was not closing securely and repair man cam and fixed it... supposedly. Guess what, next morning same problem as originally reported. But now the repair man said a part was broken ... and Choice would not cover fixing the item because it was broken. I use the ice maker to dispense ice,,, NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR on the unit. I knew nothing about a "broken part until after the repairman came. CHOICE WOULD NOT COVER THE ITEM CAUSE IT WAS BROKEN... READ THE SMALL PRINT. They cover DAMAGED items, ,, but NOT BROKEN ITEMS. Well I certainly did not break the ice dispenser. Will NOT renew contract when comes up for renewal.

CHW takes a long time to find a vendor to come out and evaluate the problem. In cases when they have "replaced" an appliance, they did not cover the cost completely, and, in the case of my microwave, they did not cover installation. Apparently, this is in the fine print that I didn't see. In the case of my washer, CHW did not want to repair it and elected to "replace" it. They said they were sending me a Lowe's gift card to cover part of the replacement. To get a washer that was comparable to the one that broke, I had to spend about $300 more than what CHW paid. Additionally, they sent me a Lowe's gift card, which arrived over a month after my washer died. What was I supposed to do during all that time without a washer? I used my Lowe's credit card to order a new washer the day I found out that CHW was not going to repair my old one. It was here in a couple of days. I cannot use the gift card that CHW sent towards my credit card payment, so, effectively, CHW did NOT contribute anything towards the cost of my new washer. I won't be renewing or recommending CHW or any other home warranty in the future. I could have put the money into a savings account for such rainy days as this and covered the repairs/replacements instead.
