I thought they were the best plan at the time and they offered us a good deal on it. But for the money, their service is crappy or the people that they try to get to work for them are. They had someone come out to our house and we paid our deductible. Then the man kept putting us off coming. When he did come, he brought in a piece of junk - a knob to put on my washer - and it wasn’t right, so he said he’d order the right one the next tie. We kept waiting to hear from him and we never heard from him. So when I called Choice Home Warranty to find out if they knew what was going on, they said they’d already closed out the account and we were out the $65 for nothing. They have trouble finding anyone who wants to come out to our little town, but they say they can get someone. My washing machine, the same one, had another problem and they contracted it out to Sears and Sears contracted it out to another company. We’ve had the part here right after they ordered it and they service company has cancelled on us twice now. So I’ve had a month without a washing machine ad I’ve spent about $60 going to the laundry mat. The guy is supposed to come out tomorrow to fix it, so we’ll see if he shows up.

The service is very good though it does take ten days to get service. They did give us a hard time about the air conditioning but they did a good job with the things. I believe they are one of the best ones. I had another warranty company and they were not good.

In the past month I had to use my home warranty twice. Once was for a water heater issue and the contractor sent out didn't fix the issue or knew how to fix it. I had to call the manufacturer to order the part and fix my issue. The second time was for my microwave caught fire, the first contractor charged me and never showed back or order anything for me. I had to call back in to get another contractor. I was sent a gift card to replace my microwave, the gift card was quite a bit less my microwave was brand new and only giving 1/3 of the cost of a new one. Then I asked them about getting the new installed and they said that wasn't covered.

I wish I could give 0 stars. I would not recommend this business to anyone. My furnace was 20+ years old and quit working. A technician came out and recommended that I have it serviced. I had another technician come out to service the unit and he recommend a full replacement due to the age and severity of corrosion on my heat exchanger. It could have cracked at any time, allowing carbon monoxide into my home which is a deadly situation. I scheduled another appointment with an HVAC tech associated with this warranty company. I got an email the morning of the appointment saying that technician had to cancel. I never got a call from anyone else to reschedule the appointment, so I went ahead with a third party and scheduled a replacement of my furnace. I was told that I was only being reimbursed $660 for something that cost nearly $6,000. It was an urgent matter that needed attended to immediately and not my fault that the technician cancelled on me to begin with. I don't feel that it was right that I am only being reimbursed this amount due to not using a technician affiliated with this home warranty company. I will be cancelling my policy as soon as I receive my check.

Although I paid thousands of dollars to CHW for 10 year coverage upfront, I am astounded at what a poor quality home warranty service I purchased. I've had problems with my dryer for over a year and have had multiple service calls, always paying a fee if I wait over a month to call in again. It was FINALLY determined that it was an electrical problem that took less than 10 minutes to repair. So, in addition to my initial investment, I've had to pay for many service calls for the dryer, when all they had to do was pull the plug, and look at the outlet to see the issue. This is ridiculous.

A friend of mine said they were really good and most of things I’ve had done were good but the last time they sent someone who didn’t specialize in water patch when I called about the water patch. It ended up costing me about a hundred and seventy dollars and it left a real sour taste in my mouth. I had to have a second opinion come out. He had put a lot of pressure on it.

Unless your house is constantly in need of maintenance, CHW is just expensive red tape. Use their technicians, on their schedule, or pay out of pocket, send copies of paperwork, wait for approval, and get reimbursed maybe. Not worth the cost or headache.

We've used our warranty a couple times. We still have a bathtub faucet that doesn't work. The plumber cut a huge hole in our living room ceiling and tried to get us to use another company that wanted to say we had water damage and charge our insurance. Then there's my microwave. I put that claim in last September. The providers number is disconnected so I can't get a hold of him and when I call CS they tell me to just wait in the part. I don't even know what's wrong with it or what part we've been waiting for 6 months for.

They're not very helpful at all. Not a happy camper. I have called in for several different issues and they weren't able to resolve any of them. I called about a ceiling fan it is still not working, I called about a water heater that I ended up fixing on my own without assistance from the warranty company. Then I also tried to cancel my service and still haven't been able to accomplish that and I don't understand why. I'm not satisfied.

Sometimes they fix it, sometimes don't. I have an outstanding problem with refrigerator and they can't seem to get the issue resolved. Another time I had a heating problem and they resolved it right away so there is a discrepency. Choice is good with the initial visit but if the problem isn't fixed the follow up is kind of a bad.

The first claim was for a dryer issue. I was told He can't fix but gave me info to order item on Amazon. Was giving wrong info had to return. The second issue was for toilet. The rep only looked at the issue and stated the company has to determine if they will fix. Never heard a follow up. Went on line and found a reply to check my policy. The issue is not covered I sent a request to follow up as to someone to contact. Never received a reply. The person from the plumbing company was very grubby. Looked worse than a begger on side of street. Very unprofessional looking to do nothing.

They are okay with minor issues, but they are absolutely no help in an emergency situation. My refrigerator died and they sent someone out to fix it. It took several days, but it got done and the guy did a good job. I had a septic tank problem and they couldn't find anyone to help me. Then later I had a plumbing issue and again they couldn't find anyone to help.

Extremely bad experience with the company. They only paid out a portion of my ac unit that went out. The gave me the run around and even lied telling me that ALL warranty companies have a cap, which is why they claim the cap was $5k and I need to come up with the other $2.5k. Well I purchased warranty through American Home Shield and they have no cap. I do not recommend Choice Home and the few vendors I've spoken to have all stated they do not working with Choice Home because they are very difficult to work with and hassle when it comes to paying for all the proper work, which I experienced first hand.

Please tell me how you could have a clogged kitchen sink and call for a plumber, pay for your service call and then get denied service because the plumber will not clean the p trap under the sink but thinks the clog is from the main drain line in the building causing a denial of benefits because CHW says they don't check P traps just would replace them according to the assigned case worker after the previous caseworker informed me they would reimburse me for the plumber I needed to come out to clean the clog from the sink by cleaning the p trap which CHW plumber refused to check and do. If we are just evaluating this service I would need to give it a big 0. Previous call from another service was very good. But for now you are asking about this plumbing call to correct the sink.

I put in a claim during this past Sunday about my leaking water heater, which is also spitting out rust out of my sinks as to where its impossible to shower or do anything out of fear of the water heater exploding considering the amount of rust water that is coming from the unit itself. An appt was set for Monday, only for them to reschedule due to them not being able to find a technician. It's now Wednesday and we are going in the weekend without any updated email about anything, which is very unprofessional, especially considering that I pay for the highest package. Also, the agent that called, it was extremely difficult communicating with them due to a possible language barrier. Overall, I'm very disappointed. This is a very serious matter and I feel that enough action isn't being taken. If my unit explodes, they surely aren't going to pay for the damages that it caused.

There was no transparency on how they arrive at reimbursement rate. CHW covered only 60% of the total cost to replace exact same unit and said that's their rate. When asked for CHW to do the replacement since it is way less than what I paid to purchase in the market, they wouldn't do that either. I felt that I had no choice but to accept whatever price they quoted and have no given me any evidence of how that prove was arrived at. It has been 20+ days and I'm still waiting for that check.

I have had experience with multiple home warranty companies before because I was a Realtor. The problem with Choice Home Warranty is the fine print excludes most every problem you will have. They reject more than they pay. And although some of the vendors they send out are OK, many are subpar. One they sent on my pool heater misdiagnosed it and they refused to pay. I paid for another technician to come out with a certified pool company and he confirmed what the CHW guy said was wrong. I spent forever appealing it with Choice only to be denied. They would have only paid $500 toward the new heater which was $2500. My last warranty company paid to replace the whole heater years ago. I went with CHW because of the deal I got with a multi-year policy. My 5 years is up this year and I will switch!

Choice Home Warranty operates a border line criminal organization. EVERY claim that I've ever filed with them has been a fight! Customer service means nothing to this company; actually, less than nothing! Don't expect anything to be fixed right way either. They have this absolutely antiquated approval process as well. They will send a technician out to "diagnose" the issue, and then they have to go back to their office and submit an email for approval. That's an automatic extra 24 hours. Then if they approve it, and you're lucky enough not to have to argue until you "stroke out", they'll order the part (i.e water heater) for you, rather than let the technician purchase and install right away. How does this efficient process of theirs work, you ask? You guessed it...another 3-5 days. Oh, I almost forgot, they'll also extort the installation cost from you ($500) before they'll order it. And, if you want to dispute it, they "pause the process", and you get to watch your water heater continue to leak in your attic while you wait another 2 days for a "supervisor" to call you In short, they don't care how it all affects you. My advice, RUN as fast as you can from this company!!! They'll make your life miserable!! I'll never give them another penny!

I had to replace Microwave and they lowballed me on the replacement microwave. They didn't pay me enough to get a replacement of the same brand. I had to wait two or three weeks to finally get a hold of somebody about my claim. I couldn't call they gave me a fifteen minute window and if you miss a fifteen minute window you got to wait another week and another week and it was just a very poor experience. I'm not real happy with.

It appears that they try to use the reasons not to support something rather than to support it. I have not gotten the service for certain things that I wanted to get that they would determine unnecessary or not eligible and I didn't think it should have been an eligible it was electrical.

I would advise the people to not go with them. They don't they don't follow through with what what's the agreement. Two times I've used my warranty. The first time the furnace went out and it took about four days for them to get somebody to come out to look at it and then when when their service technician said what needed to be fixed they did not want to fix it. And then it took another couple of days for them to decide okay we'll pay a portion of it so they were going to pay a 138 dollars on a five 520 dollar repair. They take way too long to get back to you and it's just a long very cumbersome process to try to set something up.

I made a claim and they took care of it right away. I walked in the kitchen and the flooring for the dishwasher was full of water so I called about the dishwasher they immediately got someone out here, the gentleman that came out very very nice they were very dependable they came right away. They said they had to order a part and I haven't heard from them since and now it's two weeks so now I'm starting to worry.
