Contractor left a valve leaking because he couldn't get authorization to fix it. Only has a $100.00 maximum without approval. Called his office and was told they had till day's end to submit request. Meanwhile water is leaking downstairs on bathroom ceiling and wall. Need to figure an emergency plan when damage is occurring.

Only had one claim since I became a member and our experience was terrible.The company that they sent to repair our washing machine came and had to order a part but never showed back up and we then had to pay to have it repaired out of pocket after paying the other guy the $75.00 fee.

Their not exactly up front with what they will cover. Our attic AC drip pan leaked causing some damage to a lower room. We had to have it repaired ourselves. They covered a small portion of the ac repairs but we had to pay most of it.

We had two reasons in short order to need Choice warranty and both times took extraordinary amounts of time to resolve both dcritcal items (9days for a hot water heater and over 2weeks to reolve a buyot of our refrigerator for which we have not yet received athe check).

It took over 2 weeks for them to get someone to come out to look at my refrigerator. The person came, charged me half the fee and referred me to someone to buy another refrigerator because he said it would take roo long for to get the request approved for the part and for to order it and for it to come back. So I ended up purchasing the part and fixing it myself.

I cancelled my old warranty with a rival company because of bad service. I am now getting somewhat similar service from Choice. The garage door company has told me they have had several arguments with Chice not wanting to replace my garage door opener motor. The logic board that was broken has been unavailable for over a month because the part was so old and no longer available. When I get fed up and call to complain, then I get the answer that things were finally approved that morning, but they were waiting on the garage door company.

I placed a claim for my hot water heater. The tech came but was not familiar with how to fix my tankless hot water heater. The technician told me he had to leave to go get a part and he had to submit the request to Choice. He insisted I pay him the $85 service fee before he left and told me he was going to get the part and coming right back. HE NEVER CAME BACK! And every time I called Choice they told me they were waiting for the tech to submit information to them and kept telling me to just wait. The reps kept telling me I didn't have to do anything, just wait. Technician still NEVER CAME BACK and now the claim has been closed. Choice is now telling me the tech never submitted the info and my claim has been closed! They told me I have to create a new claim and pay a new $85 service fee. I'm furious because I paid the service fee for an issue that has NEVER BEEN RESOLVED! I asked to speak with a supervisor but was told one has to be requested and would call me within 24 hours. I never received a call from a supervisor and was told when I called back that a supervisor was never requested! Sooo I requested another supervisor and was told (again) that one would call me within 24 hours. Supervisor did call the 2nd time but I had just missed the call because I was at work, however, I called Choice right back just 1 minute later! Rep told me supervisor called once and left me a voicemail stating that there is NO WAY around me having to create a new claim and paying a new service fee! I was then told that I cannot get another supervisor to call me because one did but was a missed call! I was told that the supervisor will tell me the same thing, that I'd have to submit a new claim and pay another service fee. My family has been waiting for months and have been having to take cold showers because the tech never fixed the hot water heater and I PAID for a service I NEVER received and am being made to pay again! The reps all stick to the script and aren't helpful one bit! It's like they don't even understand what my issue is. And to not be able to speak with a supervisor for a resolution if the customer service reps can't help is ridiculous! I also do customer service for a huge global corporation and I know exceptions can always be made even if it's only the supervisor that can do it! I feel so taken advantage of and not helped at all!

CHW failed to order my part for a month even though they insisted the claim had been approved. I kept insisting something was not right and no one at CHW would do anything about it. Customer service is horrible. No transparency as to claim status. Supervisors cannot take action to fix a problem. All they can do is email the authorization department or purchasing department. Neither of these two departments will contact you to fix a problem.

The people that y'all sent too our house tooo try and attempt too fix our air was a joke!!!!! Whatever they did too the air conditioning never fixed it!!!! They said it was a capicitor which it wasn't!!!! So after me paying them $75 too come out then paying for the capacitor out of my pocket as well which was $65 more dollars!!!!! These people were a complete joke!!!!! I had too have air because my mom has dementia so I had a company from in town too come out and fix it!!!!! I hope there could be some way too at least get my money back that I spent!!!!! This like I said was a complete nightmare and a complete joke!!!!!!! Thanks Rex Brightwell

On 2/6/23 I called for a leak from the circulating pump on the water heater and was told I would be contacted by a company to assess the damage for an $85 service fee. On 2/9 I received a response from OPG that I had an appointment set for 2/13/23. I responded that there were 2 80+ year olds and we were without toilet facilities and the leak was worse. I had to shut off the water. I wasn't told that I could bypass the pump and we were without water for a week and a day. When the plumber arrived, he showed me how to bypass the pump and would submit the request for a covered replacement pump, but I was responsible for paying for the modification to install the new pump. I called to speak with the case manager who told me that it would cost $250. The pump could not be installed without the modification which consisted of cutting and soldering new pieces to the then existing tubing to fit the connectors. When the plumber brought the new pump it was without the timer the original pump had but that Choice would not pay for an exact replacement. I looked up the original model and found it to be $120 whereas the replacement was under $60. She told me that they were not responsible for emergencies. While the work was done well by both plumbers we were not happy with the attitude of the Case Manager and still feel that we received a product that is worth less than the original price.

Paid for the ultimate plan which was their most expensive after purchasing a new home. We had an issue with our ductwork that prevented heat from reaching toddler daughter's bedroom. Technician came out and recommended repair. Claim was denied with reason being "Technician did not recommend repair". I spoke with the technician who said he absolutely recommended a repair. Waited a week for an appeal and spoke with a manager who continued to deny claim. I told the manager "the claim was denied because it said technician did not find repair needed but when I spoke with him he said repair was needed." Manager continued to deny but all of a sudden the reason for denial was "that type of ductwork work is not covered". Paid highest amount of money to buy best plan and then was denied on a repair needed to bring heat to my child's bedroom. Manager was nasty and disrespectful. I will never use their service again and I will tell any friends and family to stay far away from Choice Home Warranty.

When I purchased this I was told I was VIP and my claims would be handled with expedition. I had to make several unpleasant calls and felt scripts were read to me. It also took me several times to get response from my rep, who never called me and only communicated through email. Though I am glad that someone finally came out I'm thinking it would not have happened had I not been so diligent in getting a response. I will say that the service people sent to me so far I am very pleased with. Maybe the process for claims can be bettered.

Choice home warranty is a good company with excellent product choices covered. The prices are also very competitive. Unfortunately the service providers in their database for the work are mediocre at best with unprofessional practices. They have been slow to respond and inconsistent in their appointments and work. These are the most important things to the customers and they need much improvement. I hope this changes soon as I have addressed it with many customer service representatives.

I used choice about a month ago because our air conditioner went out and I filed the claim and for the last month I've been waiting on the parts of the from the company to come and replace it. This is the worst company I've ever done business with. They do anything they can to actually get out of paying. They literally went three months where they could not find somebody. I found somebody and got them a map to the house and then choice denied the claim so I was stuck paying for it. They did send me a check for a hundred bucks to try to compensate me for the three hundred dollars I paid out of pocket.

This warranty is a really good deal. I have an issue in my house right now and they have come into my home multiple times and the issue is still not resolved. I am still waiting for the warranty people to take care of it. One of the customer service reps just blatantly lied to me pertaining to a claim that I have going on right now about an AC unit. He said that everything has been authorized and that it was a go and they have people who would be coming in to take care of it. When I called a couple days later because nothing had been done, I found out that everything the first gentlemen said was a lie.

They could improve their communication and they should follow up after a claim is initiated. I wish I got updated on when the parts for equipment came in. One time my water heater broke and the guy came out the next day fix it. But they didn't pay for any of the connectors. And also there's a lot of there's an extra expenses.

We're currently waiting on two weeks trying to get the first item that we called about fixed. The vendors that they are using are not very reputable. About two weeks ago the microwave stopped working so I called and created a claim. The first company that they set us up with requested for deductible which we paid online and they never showed up so I tried to call them back. They wouldn't answer so I called Choice Home Warranty and they couldn't get an answer either so they set us up with a different company. Today was the day that they were supposed to be out and they never called and didn't show up for their appointments so I tried calling them and asking them what was going on but they won't pick up the phone. This is poor customer service and I am dissatisfied.

They were slow to respond. With our water heater it took four days to get somebody to come, they were enlisting people who weren't in my area so people were signing up for the job then realizing where I lived so they canceled so I ended up going two weeks without hot water. So I ended up finding my own.

My microwave was diagnosed with having to be replaced. They give me the option to receive a money card to go to Lowes, but it turns out there's an installation price of one hundred twenty five dollars on top of the a hundred ninety one dollars that they provided. I contacted choice about that and they said, no sorry we cannot pay for the installation of the microwave.

I feel deceived by choice. I was told that my water heater was covered by the warranty only to find out it was not covered because of the size. At no time was I told that size mattered. I wonder what else is not covered. I have already paid the years membership so it's too late for me. How can I truly recommend choice

I had to replace my garage door opener and Choice did not even pay half the cost! I am seriously thinking about going back to American Home Shield. The monthly payment went up but I found out the benefits are better than Choice. I was with American Shield for 25 years and counting.

I can name quite a few issues that I have experienced over the past few months that have contributed to my disappointment with this company in general. Some of the staff are rude, obnoxious and inconsiderate to the consumer concerns/needs. I was told by a staff after being provided a quote for my out of pocket expense for an AC repair "It is not my problem that you cant afford your out of pocket cost. I am the boss and I am not reviewing this claim any further. I have been assigned to you as your case manager and my decision(s) is final." I felt horrible and from this point on, I lost interest in renewing any contract with this company.

I was impressed by the way the technician was on time and fixed by Garbage disposal, very nice and kind . I wasn't to happy about the 2 day wait for them to come out and fix the problem, I feel that if I'm paying for Service at $50 a month I was hoping that service would more available.

I had a serious problem with a contractor. I was told to wait for parts , but I called Choice and was told that he said he had replaced the parts and the all was working well. This is still in dispute and I have been without a working stove and broiler for over 3 months
