Choice warranty assured me that If An appliance was broke and needed to be replaced that it would be replaced and all I would pay is the $75 deductible Currently They came to the conclusion that my dishwasher at my property needs replaced. They are only giving me a $246. Check to replace the dishwasher, the cheapest dishwasher I found is over $400 so I have to pay the difference of that installation. Choice warranty is not truthful when you are signing up with them about replacement works. I was with a different home warranty company before them and I will be going back to this company because of this.

I've had a request in to fix my dryer but a part had to be ordered. the vendor, has not updated me on the progress - It's been about 3 weeks. I have warranties on 2 homes they have no sense of urgency to help you get your item repaired. We had water coming from the ceiling due to a bathtub leak. You have to wait until they assign someone to come which can take 48 hours or longer Then I had an issue with another appliance and they denied the claim saying it wasn’t normal wear and tear So far, I haven’t had a great experience with Choice Hime Warranty

When I purchased the warranty I had actually pulled up American Home Shield when Choice Home Waaeanty’s home page has jacked the the other’s site. I thought perhaps they had merged; I didn’t know, besides Richard Karn is paid to endorse it how bad can it be? Well our refrigerator went out. The service technician came out almost a week later and diagnosed it as a bad compressor and suggested replacing the refrigerator. I explained the medical emergency was an insulin-dependent diabetic in the home……it took 27 days and filling a complaint with our North Carolina Attorney General’s Office to get Choice to respond as their representative did not on tge date and time our interview appointment time was despite my stopping work for 20 minutes at my employer waiting for their call. Despite daily calls (which go unanswered except for a computer generated message “ that all representatives are busy and will call you when next in line.” and four emails daily to the representative assigned to my case with excuse after excuse on her part why the ecard to purchase another refrigerator has not been sent. After another lie told to the AG’s office their attorney agreed Choice would “just mail a check.” It arrived another week later. Thirty days to replace a refrigerator that a diabetic was dependent on. Two lessons learned here: (1) Samsung refrigerators are garbage (2) and so is Choice!

You take too long to find a technician . When I signed I was told that a technician would be dispatched within 24 hours. I filed a claim on the 12th of July and no one came until the 29th and it was hottest days being 100÷. It was like you all didn't care. I asked if since it had taken so long if the service fee could be waved and the representative said no.

With two children and a broken air-conditioner, Choice kept "scheduling" with Sears and no one would call. When calling Sears, I was told a) I had to talk to Choice and b) Choice routinely says an appointment is scheduled through Sears without actually contacting Sears to make sure a technician is available. After the third time this happened, Sears felt sorry for me and allowed me to schedule with them directly because Choice was incompetent. All emails with Choice resulted in 'cut and paste' excuses and no legitimate plan to help solve the problem. Choice said to talk to Sears, and Sears had said to talk to Choice (until the one person felt sorry for us). This was extremely frustrating, and I was clearly speaking to people on the other side of the world with stock answers and no willingness to expedite the claim after their repeated failures. We had no air-conditioning during the hot summer for about three weeks in total. I despise Choice Home Warranty, will tell anyone I can to stay clear of them, and look forward to using a different company soon.

I called Choice Home Warranty on July 16 th to let them know my air conditioner was not working. They told me that Sears would come out on the 20th. I told them that u could not wait for the 20th because the heat index was 108. So they told me that they noticed Sears and they say that they could come on July 17th and I said thank you. On the 17th Sears did not show up. When I reached out to Sears I never got a live person. I then reached out to CHW and told them to send another company. They agreed to send a company that worked in my air conditioner around June 3. When they came out this time they told me that my air conditioner could not be repaired. They notified CHW so I had to wait until CHW approved the repair… I then had to wait for CHW to approve the repair which took a few more days. Then CHW told me that I would have to send them 1,497.75 to get them to approve the repair. They also told me that I would have to pay the company that they sent out to make the repair 3,252.00. At this point I was shocked that I would have to pay so much money. I thought that my warranty would cover all but the 75.00 service call fee. My husband and I an are senior citizens and for us to have to live in a house for 10 day was absolutely dangerous and could have caused our death. I called them every day and they told me they ordered the part we would have to wait on the parts to replace the air conditioner. I called on July 23 and they told me that the parts were delivered but when I called the technician that was supposed to do the repair they told me that only the outside and the heating part was their and not the air handler…. CHW told me that all the parts were delivered but the technician said the air handler was not there…. So that went on for a day then on July 24 the technician said the air handler was delivered and they would install on July 25 and they did. Now I have a Lennox Seer 2 4 ton air conditioner that u believe I paid for most of the cost. I pray that they gave me in adequate air conditioner with the right seer . The temperature in my home was very hot and I am so disappointed in the way Choice Home Warranty had no regard for my health or my life. I could not afford to go to a hotel and pay the 4,749.75 that I had to pay. I also have for properties that I have a home warranty with CHW. The reason I selected CHW to be my property warranty company because I saw that they were the top home warranty company…… if this is true they all of us that have home warranty companies are in trouble. I did not name the company that CHW sent out to me because I don’t think it was their fault….. i am hurt, sad and very disappointed in CHW😭😭😭😭

Been with Choice Home Warranty since 2014. Never had a problem with them when making a claim for one of my systems, A/C mostly, until I needed to replace my A/C system. From the time the technician came and said I needed a new A/C system and put in the claim, Choice Home Warranty gave me the run-around. I live in Nevada, the temperature is in the triple digits, 110 to 118 degrees. Each time I contacted Choice, they told me they were waiting for the technician to give them information. This went on for 2 weeks. I'm melting! They kept trying to have the technician use a cheaper model that was not up to code in this area. I contacted Choice and requested to speak to a manager. While talking to the manager, I asked him if Choice was stalling because it cost more for the right unit and the approved out-of-pocket cost that they quoted me would not be enough. He said that was the reason for the delay. I told him the I knew that it would probably cost me more out-of-pocket and said I could work with that. The next thing I know is that Choice sent me a new out-of-pocket cost quote of over $9300.00. I talked to the technician and he told me the whole cost for the unit and installation was only a little over $8300.00. Choice then had the nerve to tell me that they were paying $600.00 for the air handler. There was no separate air handler. It's not a side-by-side unit but an all inclusive single unit. More bulls**t from Choice. This works out to me paying for everything plus an extra $1000.00 plus to Choice for giving me the run-around. I tried to talk to another or the same manager I had talked to previously and got a "Case Manager" that kept telling me I had to pay the more than $9300.00 amount even after I explained that it did not cost that much for the unit plus installation. I asked to speak to her supervisor and was told the she did not have a supervisor because she was the Case Manager. After about 30 to 45 minutes of this bull, I told her to cancel my policy and refund my remaining balance which I received today. I used that to purchase my NEW A/C unit at just a little over $8300.00 and it works fine.

Incredibly I bought a 5-year plan for 2 homes, And get this type of help? They even insulted me with an email saying "we are having trouble locating a refrigerator repair facility. . ." W H A T ? ? ? The service level was so poor and unsatisfactory I had to cancel Choice home warranty on both of my homes. I have been a good paying customer for years and when I finally needed service Choice Home Wty failed at every level. I live in Arizona, my AC went out, I filed a claim, after 48 hours no one had responded so I got a notigication to find my own resource, I did, they came out immediately and fixed my AC, I filed the claim to be reimbursed and was told by Aaron S. my case manager I did not follow the procedures of the contract and my claim was denied, He would have had the contractor write up an assessment and submit it for a review that can take days and then approve or not. My guy fixed it on the spot...Arizona in the Summer has extreme heat and Choice wanted me to live without AC for days on end. And when the case manager spoke with me he was non empathetic, rude, adn unwilling to do anything to recognize me as a valued client. I had just renewed both of my homes on June 25th and given all the circumstances I cancelled my services and he would not even waive the $50 / home cancellation fee "per the contract". I have to take better care of my clients than the way Choice chose not to take care of me so I fired Choice and cannot wait to tell the world this same story. Buyer beware! Coice is glad to take your money but forget the service and any human element...the entire experience was terrible.

They never cover any AC issue stating that the unit has to be maintained according to the manufacturer’s warranty. (I.e. cleaned annually) It’s cleaned annually by my maintenance man but they don’t accept that because he is not a icensed AC tech. He cleans the coils yearly regardless.

The most irresponsible company I have ever dealt with. Find any possible excuse for not fixing your appliances. Refused to fix my refrigerator stating it was a power surge, when in deed I have protection from the electric company Surge Shield FPL … the technician just assumed I t was a power surge.. and made a statement in his work order… and Choice refused to fix it. Called and had a conversation with a very rude manager… and stated Choice can not fix our fridge because they have to go by what the technician writes on the order because they don’t want to underestimate the technician. They offered me $300.00 to fix my fridge…that’s not going to get me anywhere. Very unprofessional and sneaky. I even called LG and I was told by them that the fridge has a power fuse that prevents power surges. Mrs. Toni T. manager for Choice refused to help me in this situation. I’ve been with a fridge for more than a week… she offered $300, like if that is going to work. I’ll be placing a formal complaint against Choice with the consumer protection division of the attorney general of Florida if this situation is not fixed . Very friendly when they sell you the home warranty insurance, but when it comes to fixing your appliances it’s a headache. Case 245847795. I asked her for her email and She told me she couldn’t give me that information. It’s irritating to think that these companies take your money on a monthly basis but when it comes to deliver they refuse to do so. The technician didn’t even check the refrigerator… he just assumed! Horrible company! DONT waste your money! No peace of mind with this company!!!

They took my money and gave nothing back in return... For three weeks I tried to get them to fix my AC Unit and for three weeks they did nothing but drag their feet in the middle of summer at 120 degree heat... I decided to finally cancel my warranty and get it done myself... Choice Home Warranty called me back and asked why? I said, "If you look at your computer screen can you name one thing you have done to help me with my AC Unit in the past three weeks in the middle of this brutal summer?" They said "No" and asked for another chance... I said, "I can't, there are lives at stake." I didn't even get once cent of reimbursement back either... It's your life and your money... I hope you can learn from my mistake...

The cable cord and the water hose broke/leaking on my dishwasher. The repair person submitted my claim and Choice refused to pay for the repair service. Choice said a worn out cable cord and a worn out water hose were no covered. So does that mean I have to have a motor repair or the dishwasher replaced in order to get my dishwasher repaired by Choice? What is covered by Choice for dishwashers ? If you are a customer of Choice and have a repair, please check to make sure it is covered. The technician was very kind and helpful. He ordered the parts and returned to fix my dishwasher. If it had not been for the technician, I would have been out of $85 for the service fee. Oh, i told the claims person for Choice at the time I submitted the claim what the problem was. They could have told me that at the beginning

If I could give zero stars I would..... I have paid for a warranty and was promised how wonderful the company is.... well read the fine print, but also know that they will do everything to not be fair and let you argue with people who can do nothing and they refuse to ever allow you to speak to anyone with any ability to help you.... your only answer is to write a letter or report to BBB which also did very little. My washer was a high end large capacity, they wouldn't fix it because wasn't financially to their benefit so instead they tried to tell me 350.00 would replace it, they finally came up to 549.00 and said that is what they could find it for. When I asked where, they said they couldn't tell me or give me any info.... so basically an imaginary place selling imaginary machines. I went to 7 stores, including scratch and dent and returns and found a comparable machine for 899.00 and they were kind enough to offer free delivery.... when I said this is what I bought the form answer was "we don't pay for delivery" that's our max is 549.00.... this was the constant answer. So no way will I continue with them and will in no way tell you to use them.... there are far better companies with people who do not scam you..... they are being sued and have numerous BBB complaints.

I contacted Choice Home Warranty because my Air Condition Unit stop working. They sent someone here and he said the HVAC needed to be fix. I paid over $3,000 to have y’all replace the HVAC for my AC to work and the contractor y’all sent never even looked at the AC. Now y’all telling me I have to com out of pocket again with another $3000 to replace the AC when I told y’all the AC is not working. Why am I paying for a home warranty and you all are making me put out all this money and I still do not have my AC fix. I will be contacting a lawyer because this is not what I purchased a home warranty for. Now, I have other contractors coming out to give me an estimate. You all do not live up to your contract. I have used Choice twice in the last year without any payment. Last year I had a hot water heater leaking. They scheduled someone in a week…would not do it quicker. I had to pay for and call someone to install a new heater since my finished basement was getting flooded. No reimbursement. Last month my air conditioner would not work (in the 90’s). Choice could not send anyone for a week so I hired someone to fix it. They sent in the diagnosis, etc, but I still did not get reimbursed. Choice was “useless”.

I made a request 3weeks ago… air conditioner not working. HAVAC company they sent to me determined I needed a new air conditioner. Choice let me know I had to pay them over $1400.00 for uncovered charges and lil over $1200.00 to the person who will be installing the air conditioner. Choice has been paid via my charge card. I’m still waiting for installation of air conditioner, I can’t get any answers for the delay. Choice keeps telling me it’s on the way. I have since learned that Choice and the HAVAC company are in disagreement… they want more money. I’m caught in the middle of something I have nothing to do with. We,re in a heat wave, I’m 82 years old and have numerous health issues. Livin* in my house with no air these past three weeks has depleted me…I also have two dogs… they’re panting! Does Choice care…NO! Every day I’m talking to different “CASE MANAGER” ..for F/U… when I ask to speak to a MANAGER, I’m told “ I’m a case manager “… I told them that’s just a glorified name for “Customer Service person” Somebody somewhere has to care about all that I’m having to endure… we’re in a heat wave, I got ceiling fans and floor fans running 24 hours a day….Yesterday Choice sends me msg “ They’re sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate my patience “ as they work on securing me the best available technician!WOW… can you believe that… First … this is not an INCONVENIENCE, this is total disrespect… uncaring, disregard,… letting me go thru all that I have endured these past weeks…”WE’RE IN A HEATWAVE” …no one called to see how I was doing, to get a portable air conditioner to me while waiting… I had to purchase fans etc to get some kinda relief for me and my dogs. MY HEALTH HAS BEEN COMPROMISED!! THEY Have set an appointment for me with a new HVAC company! No one called to tell me that’s what they were going to do. I’m so tired! And don’t feel well! I am completely frustrate with Choice Home Warranty at this point. I am having all kinds of issues getting the information for reimbursement. This is caused by the fact that CHW couldn't find a contractor to do the work. Now, it's a nightmare. I also can't get the authorization team to authorize work that needs to be done on my AC unit. I will likely have to pay out of pocket to get this work done, which kind of nullifies the reason to have a home warranty company, doesn't it?

I made a terrible mistake when I purchased a home warranty from Choice! I had used another home warranty but fell for the BS that Choice Home Warranty was hawking. I used Choice for a couple of small problems but when by refrigerator quit Choice left me high and dry! It was like pulling teeth to get anyone to even come and look at the refrigerator and then when they did Choice would only cover the compressor, which supposedly cost $895, and I was to cover the other parts required for another $695. All this was to repair 17 year old refrigerator. I requested that CHW replace the refrigerator, but they refused! I then requested they send me a check for the amount they were going to pay for the compressor, and I would go purchase another refrigerator myself. Again, they refused saying they would only pay the repairman that diagnosed my old one. All this took place on June 20, 2024 and CHW has never called again to follow up. My contract states CHW would repair, replace or make an offer in lieu of to settle my claim. They have done nothing. I will not be renewing my contract with CHW! I would hope other potential customers read this review and elect to look seriously at purchasing a home warranty from basically any other home warranty company! The lowest rating I am able to give Choice Home Warranty is one star which is far better than they deserve!

As long as you are getting a repair they are Johnny on the spot. When it comes to a replacement it becomes a waiting game. And when you get in touch with them for any kind of update they must be located in another country. I've been charged out of pocket fees for parts but can't any info about when they will arrive let alone installed. No air in the middle of the heat with a warranty I have barely used over the years. Grand Hustle....

Once you have contacted them, you will be FLOODED with emails and phone calls, three to five a day, barraging you to purchase. After purchase, do not expect to receive services when something actually breaks. You submit a claim, then enter no man's land. The "customer service" phone number and on-line chat are absolutely useless, providing only rote responses like "you will be assigned a technician when one becomes available, usually within 24-48 hours." When you make a claim on a Thursday, that window extends to Saturday, and of course you can't reach anyone then. A call to ANY service provider will result in a technician coming out, the city in question is Houston, where service is PLENTIFUL.

Generally Choice Home Warranty has performed satisfactorily. I have made a number of claims over the years and all have had a competent technician dispatched but in every case it's been days before one could come and then they diagnosed the problem but often had to schedule a return visit after they had gotten approval to perform the repair, especially if a replacement needed to occur. The biggest disappointment occurred recently when my air conditioner went out on August 3 when it was 117 degrees in Arizona. I submitted a repair ticket at 5a.m. PST and had to call them at 10:30 inquiring as to why they hadn't responded. I was told it might be 24 hours! They finally got back to me at 3 pm telling me I was scheduled for repair on August 16! When I called and explained to them how hot is was and was going to be in the coming days they politely reiterated the August 16 date and said if I tried to reschedule it would be even later. I had no choice but to pay out of pocket for the repair. I won't get reimbursed because it wasn't approved by Choice. Such a letdown and this will definitely cause me to consider other home warranty companies in the future.

Our refrigerator was deemed to be unrepairable on 06/01/24. Our repairman did a fantastic job and submitted the paperwork for our claim. Even though the offer of $986 was not enough to replace the refrigerator, we decided to accept because the offer was in Lowe’s credit and we found a refrigerator at Lowe’s that same day. We had money out of pocket but they could deliver the next morning. We then find out it may 30 days. We switched to receive a check and we still don’t have the money.

Buyer Beware! Make sure you read your policy thoroughly! Household appliances are not fully replaced; you will only receive a portion of the replacement cost. Additionally, you might have to spend money for delivery, hauling the old appliance away, installation, etc.

And there was no way that I can't have air conditioners for 2 weeks so I had to see someone else's service and they were able to come that day and fix it. I did have an experience on my dryer wasn't working well and the technician that came was very knowledgeable and friendly. But he came within a a couple of days. But that wasn't like losing your air conditioning though.

A better idea of expectations would really help your company filing a claim where we were very uncomfortable in our home until the problem can be fixed. It was a day and a half before we got anything resolved. Just would have been nice to hear from somebody first line instead of just fill out the claim and wait.

Three claims Submitted in a month. One for dishwasher.which they didn't cover the pull out trays. 2 calls for the air conditioner. 1 covered. The second call is still to be determined since they haven't come out yet. Scheduled service for repairs are usually within 72 hours except for holidays.

I recently had a service person come out as my garage door was not operating correctly. The service call cost 75.00 and the only issue the provider found was that the rollers needed to be replaced and this cost 250.00. this was not covered by Choice Home. Recently the same issue happened, and I had a handy man take a look and he fixed the issue within 10 minutes at no cost. However I recently had an issue with my garbage disposal and it was replaced with no issues.

Some of the contractors sent to do the claims are not very supportive. I've had one come for my exhaust fan and wouldn't take the plate off to get the model number to fix the problem. After they left I took it off and resubmitted the claim. In this instance they were in a rush to do nothing. It appears that the contractors tell me the warranty company doesn't pay them good so the claims get put on the bottom of their list for service.

Not impressed at all. Had our fourth claim for the identical problem. I was told today that as long as it’s over 30 days, it’s a new claim as you consider it “fixed”. It’s all just bandaid work so the customer will have another claim and pay yet another out of pocket visit co-pay. So far over $200 plus stayed at home 8 times (each time once to diagnose and another after you approve to have it “fixed”)

Slow response. Extremely difficult to speak to a human. My sales representative never responds to emails or phone messages. Settlement for my high end microwave was pathetic… didn’t even cover the tax. Really wish I had not entered into a 5 year contract… would love to find another company!!! For the record… it took 3 months to get a pathetic response to my claim.

The customer service representatives are so terrible! I had to ask for a supervisor every time I tried to get anything done. I was selling my house and trying to get everything transferred to the new owners. It was so much trouble and very stressful! When I did need service, that was excellent & the price is outstanding. If they want to give 100% satisfaction, they really need to hire some good customer service representatives.
