I had a parade of them a year or so ago for a problem with my downstairs commode, and the problem still isn’t fixed. As a matter fact it’s worse. Our issues have involved our HVAC system losing refrigerant. The previous contractors couldn't locate the problem. The contractor who visited in May found that a worn gauge was the reason we were losing our refrigerant. We have been waiting almost four weeks for the replacement gage. My husband called Choice to report our frustration, which resulted in the contractor calling to tell us that he had been busy, and the part was due to arrive on June 4th, so he would make sure that one was set aside for us; it's a week later and he hasn't called back.

I’ve been with Choice for over a year now. I have always found them responsive and professional. The quality of people they have sent over have been good except one. Which leads me to a nice story. I had an issue with an appliance guy. He was unprofessional, barely looked at the equipment and (shocker) misdiagnosed. When I notified Choice, they didn’t give me excuses. They quickly sent over a new person, fixed my appliance and did not charge me for a new appt. Every company will encounter an issue. The good ones will react fast and fix it.

My refrigerator was not cooling so I filed a claim online. I got the claim # and notification that a technician will come in 2-3 days. Sure enough I got a call from the Tech on the 3rd day who also gave me the approx. time when he would come. He diagnosed the issue which involved problems with the compressor and leak. He reported the issue to CHOICE. They gave me the option of replacing the refrigerator since mine was not repairable. The credit would be in the form of gift card to one of the vendors, hoping it'll come fast before the labor day weekend so I can avail of the sales.

not a gimmick, not a scam! CHW is the real deal. Like clock work. We submitted a claim and appointment was set up. Arrived on time, diagnosed the issue with our refrigerator. Said it would take a couple of weeks for the final approval and when parts available another appointment would be made. CHW emailed and called with time to install new parts. Again arrived on time and all is great. It would be nice if other companies would have such great customer service. thank you Howie

The agent representative that contacted me about a Home Warranty, Moe, was very professional, and answered all my questions. I also was very pleased with the cost for their plan. This rating is for our current experience with Choice Warranty. Prior to this claim, a 2 rating at best! We have requested a technician for a few situations and never were given any assistance. This includes a furnace failure in February. We paid out of pocket for a new HVAC, a refrigerator, and a washer. Supposedly no technicians were willing to work with Choice Warranty. We asked to have our account closed. Why pay a monthly charge for no service rendered? While our account was still open, our dishwasher leaked. We filed a claim and Rob showed up. Wow! Not only that, for the first time, Choice stayed on top of the claim! The dishwasher is working, we are educated and happy, and Choice Warranty’s redeemed.

My last experience with CHW was very good. We had a problem with our dishwasher. The tech was on time, knowledgeable and made the repair. We did have a questionable experience with another Warranty call. We gave up on the situation eventually and made us weary of what to expect. However this one was a 5 Star!!!!!

It's complicated, I thought that when service was provided and the product was approved, I thought that I did not have to worry about replacing it myself. Yes, my system was approved but for the amount of the approval was not enough to cover my replacement. So because you do not want mismatch appliances in your home, I ended up having to pay out of pocket cash as well. I think that you need to explain to senior citizens what the Replacement Process means in more details. Because the e-gift card is less than what the merchant is selling for your replacement and you have end up paying the difference

Choice Warranty was quick to respond to my refrigerator not making ice. They got back with the name of the vendor to service my claim. The vendor was pleasant and courteous on the initial visit even tho there was no call when they didn’t show up the day schedule due to over scheduling. I didn’t hear from the vendor again until 2 weeks later. During that visit the vendor was rude and in professional. I reported to Choice and they contacted the vendor while I was on the phone. I expect the part to come in and be installed by the vendor.

The warranty was sold as a 5-year package to lock in rates. Essentially, that also locks the purchaser from going elsewhere if it doesn't work out. Contractors are hit or miss. Sometimes great, other times, horribly under trained. Customer service is outsourced to a call center in the Philippines where no meaningful decisions can be made at their level if there's a problem. When an appliance is not repairable, they do offer good fair market value for a replacement in the form of a gift card. The catch is that it takes up to 30 days to receive it so be prepared to live without that appliance until it arrives. (It took 30 days to the day: 2 days for scheduling, a week and a half for a decision after approval of the amount, the rest was waiting time for the card to be emailed. Overall, I'm glad I have it, but it could be a lot better.
