Choice set up an appointment for a company to come to my home and when they did not show up I called them and they said that they told Choice they could not work on my furnace and Choice did not contact me to let me know they were cancelling the appointment. It is not good customer service to have me waiting for four hours when the company had cancelled.

Our sales person was Leo. When he was trying to sell the policy he called or e-mailed everyday sometimes more than once. We had a problem with our microwave and washing machine. The repair man came out right away to fix the microwave. But he had to order a part for the washing machine. That was at least 3 weeks ago still not fixed. My wife has called Leo multiple times over the last 2-3 weeks but he has not returned her call yet.

I like the prices. I live alone in my house that is getting older so I figure I need to be covered. For my air conditioner, I got an appointment the next day but the technician who came out discovered it was an electrical problem so I got an appointment for an electrician for the next day and he came out and diagnosed the problem and told me he would come back and he hasn’t and I have been trying to reach out and I am still waiting since June 23rd. I think choice would want to follow up to find out if my problem was fixed.

When I bought my condo, the owner gave me one year of the warranty and then I added another five years to my contract. I have used the service for two things. The second time was not a good experience, they told me they were order parts and they never did and nobody was getting back to me. I was ready to cancel the appointment and then they finally sent someone over. The whole thing was about two to three months to get fixed. The quality depends on the contractor. I had an electrician come out and do a great job.

They denied a claim on my pool pump. They said it burnt up because of bad cartridges. No one ever saw the cartridges. We openened the cartridge tank and the cartridges were fine. We ended up buying the new pump ourselves and now running the pool with the cartridges that we had already and its running great. The pump was just old. It was 2004 when it was put in. Debate could have been solved if they had sent someone back out to actually see that it was not the cartridges. Instead we ended up spending 500.00 dollars when the warranty should have covered it

Beware of the fine print!!! While I've had some good experiences with Choice, I have had issues with others. First look at the "replacement" notes. If something needs to be replaced, they will only give you a "cash out" payment. In two instances, the payments did not come close to the actual cost of replacement. Rest assured I was only looking to replace items with comparable ones. Second: Do not be surprised if a determination of "not covered" is given. Again this seems to happen with larger items. In short; READ YOUR CONTRACT!!!!

(1) CHW response to service technician. Tech had not been authorized to move forward and complete repair until I did a status update call on all of my outstanding service calls several weeks after the initial service visit. (2) I never received a full copy of the contract. When I asked for a copy, I was sent a cop of the invoice which stated all systems covered, plan monthly cost, and service tech fee amount and figured this must be their contract. But when I was denied repair/replacement of my A/C unit, they emailed me this long memo with all of these reasons per my contract of why they would not honor the repair/replacement and when I told them I never received such a contract that they seem to be quoting from, I was told I could access it from their website.....REEAALLY??!!!!

We purchased an older home and the agent negated a contract with Choice. the first callout was for a commode that was stopped up. The repairman was prompt and corrected the problem. The second problem was that the hot water circulation pump was not working. The repairman failed to show 4 times at the appointed time. I insisted that they get another repairman and they did. Another problem was a stopped up kitchen sink. The repairman showed up on the appointed time and unstopped the sink. The last time a repairman was to repair the garage door opener. The repairman did a great job in locating the problem and correcting it.

It has been 21 days since my first request to fix my washing machine. I have tried to call and have been put on ridiculous holds (or call has been dropped)to speak with someone that cannot help me. They have contracted Sears with whom I am also not pleased and will not do business with them again. Apparently the part is on either back order or not available at all. It seems to me that someone should be able to call the supplier and find out about the part. They should have just replaced the washing machine by now. Also, it is difficult to understand most of the customer service people. I think it is great to hire people with different ethnic backgrounds but to put them in customer service where they need to speak with people doesn't seem like a good idea. Obviously, I am not happy and probably will not renew with Choice Warrenty.

I used them to repair a a/c unit. My problem was the 1st appointment for the a/c guy was 3 days from the time I sent in the claim. If I did not have 2 a/c units I would have been uncomfortable. I can get a a/c man to service me the same day most of the time.
