Technicians are incompetent. Most claims are denied if it costs more than $100 to fix. One heating company technician actually stole an air handler when installing a new unit that I paid 2700 for to have the whole unit replaced. I didn’t find out about it until I got an electric bill for almost $700 in a month where I was overseas for 2 weeks and barely had the heat on. I reported him to Choice but was afraid to report him to his board for fear of retaliation.

Both times this year Choice has a hard time finding a service provider to take the claim. While if I go outside the Choice process, plenty of service providers are willing to evaluate my issue. This is a small town where people talk. Word has gotten out that Choice does not reimburse timely or fairly, so service providers are not willing to take Choice warranty claims. If you want to stay relevant in this area, you should take steps to rectify that and improve your reputation. I would like to cancel my policy and receive a prorated refund of my premium.

the company is just looking for an excuse not to pay. even itheir own technician are puzzled with their decision. in one of my bathroom the emergency water gasket broke if due to a normal wear and tear. the claim was denied as the person who review the photos stated it was improperly installed. their own technician told them that installation was indeed proper but they still denied the claim. companies don’t want work foe the choice warranty as they dont tread them fairly.

My experience with Choice is a horror movie. Waiting for months for Choice to find a company to serviced the claims. Hearing technician after technician expressed dissatisfaction about how they don’t get reimbursed properly or treated by the company and my own personal negative experience makes this company’s service completely unacceptable and irresponsible. I am considering terminating my contract with them asap.

First time had to use there service, it took a couple of days before i got a service date, which i was told they would be there, then the company that was to come out changed the date to a later date, but once they came out the problem was solved, service tech was really honest and did a great job.

I was emailed one price and when I paid I was charged a different amount even my service calls will be more than what the email said. I did call them and spoke with the gentleman ‘Melvin Q’ that sent me the quote, he was not interested in what I had to say about being over charged. Mr.Q was too busy trying to up charge me to a 3 1/2 year warranty.

Overall service is good, but sometimes it’s like pulling teeth to get them to acknowledge sometimes fixing one root cause will fix multiple symptoms. It seems like they want to collect multiple visit fees vs getting it done right one time.

Milan was Great she was very informative and even went as far as telling that she would leave me her number and ext on my copies that she was going to email me. I had asked about a certain plumbing company here in el paso tx and that's when she told me she would leave me her name number and ext. But I don't see that information anywhere. So that's why I rate it a 3. I think it's because I could not afford the vip price.

Service for my heat pump was scheduled. Tech came out as scheduled. Said my system was low on Freon. Didn't have the equipment with him to check for a leak. New A coíl was installed last March and system was fúlly charged . I had the system inspected in January and was told system was operating properly. Tech said he was unable to get in touch with CHW to get approval for any repairs. I paid my service charge and my system is still in the same condition as before. A waste of my money.

We have utilized the services of Choice Home Warranty three times in the last year. The first time was for electrical issues and we STILL have outlets that don’t function properly. The next time was for a plumbing issue that involved our water softener and it was resolved. However, a week ago we called for a plumber to unclog a complete stoppage in our kitchen sink. The plumber arrived five days later and was unable to unclog the sink. Our issue is still not resolved and, because an email from Choice Home Warranty basically said that this is the “best we can do” we are having to call another plumber today to resolve the problem. I would not recommend this company.

Not happy with “Choice” sending repair person. After 6 days and they couldn’t find anyone they told me to find someone and they would reimburse. The cost was $160 for diagnostic. Now they say they dont pay for diagnostic if we use our own. If they found someone they would have to pay them. They gave us no choice but to find someone to come out.

First off I'm losing water by the hr while all this goes on for a month. Initially choice sends out this extremely incompetent supposed plumber that doesn't even go under the house to see the leaks. I complain enough to get a second opinion. Which were competent but slow on reporting back to choice. Then choice declines the claim all because they mentioned something outside the house. Even so they should cover what is inside the house! So furious about this whole ordeal. Dealing with this a month and just end up screwed. What do I have warranty for again!? The right thing for you to do is still cover the house and not the outside. Whether it means a new quote from the plumber or whatever. This isn't right

I liked the quick response when a claim is completed online. I did not like fact that I was given an additional charge for a repair when it was indicated on the way that it was covered. Although the cist was minimal it should be clearly indicated in the contract. Overall for the most part it is worth having in the end.

Communication is poor, when I call to speak with a representative at the number given I get an automated response to go online and send a message and wait for a response, I’m still waiting…. In order to speak to a customer service representative, I had to call the representative I brought my policy from to transfer my call. I’ve also had other issues with parts being ordered, but not shipped and not being told anything…..poor communication is main issue. Thank you.

I used my warranty on my A/C unit that went out. But they mixed my paperwork up and then didn't send it in. When they finally corrected it, they won't get my A/C unit fixed. But overall, it's great. Everybody was friendly.

The air conditioning coils in the attic that leaked into the air conditioner stopped working. So we called Choice Home Warranty and then it turned out that the coils were under warranty. So the part was free and then the labor cost $2000. They were all very nice.

It was a pretty good experience when I had a garbage disposal put in. But then my furnace went out and that was a big hassle. Even though they provided the furnace and the company that put it in, I feel that I was overcharged for some of the items that that company used. Plus, it would take about a month before I actually got the furnace in. I'm 88 years old and about froze when all of that was going on.

The customer service support is nice enough, but they don't seem to have any information and they can't help usually. I don't think they're in this country. I don't know if they're in the Philippines or India, and again, they're very sweet, but they don't seem to really be able to answer questions about the warranty itself.

I HAD 2 OF THESE HOME WARRANTIES AND ONE FOR 3 YEARS. THEY REFUSE TO PAY FOR 80% OF THE REQUESTED REPAIRS AND FIND EXCUSES NOT TO PAY! THEY ARE ONE OF THE WORST 2 HOME WARRANTY COMPANIES IN THE COUNTRY. I HAVE A FEW HUNDRED RENTALS AND CANNOT REFER THEM AT ALL. THEIR LAST EXCUSE TO AVOID PAYMENT OF AN INSIDE CLOTHES DRYER WAS THERE WAS EVIDENCE OF SOME RUST AND DECAY INSIDE! They don't figure that there is a leak in the system where water from the interior chamber gets into the motor. So the dryer has been working fine for the last three years. they don't ask to come and inspect your appliances before selling you the policy. The salespeople don't quote any exclusions and then they screw you when you call them and ask for a repair. I am sick of this company. They are the absolute worst!

The electricians are very young and inexperienced. They are only interested in making a quick dollar, they are not concerned with follow through, customer satisfaction, professionalism, their business success, they only collect the $85 service fee , they are not ever seen again. I understand good workers are hard to find, but please review and research these companies and get credible references before assigning them to us. I cannot afford to pay service fee every other week for the same issue. These young men are in their 30's, they reek of cigerette smoke and Marijuana, they have no concern about growing their company, they are only making the $85 service fee and they are happy to collect the fee and that is all they want, they are not coming back to complete any job after they get that service fee. They never do. Please fix this!

My Hotwater heater stopped putting out hot water I filed a claim and they sent out a plumber to check it out. They recommended 2 new heating elements and a new thermostat It was denied saying I had hot water? I tried to get them to understand that the hot water only lasted a few minutes Refilled the claim and it was denied. I ended up replacing the water heater due to its age and it cost me over $2K ( includes new water heater and the installation of new unit and the disposal of the old unit Don’t waste your $ on this There is a dedicated FB Page that talks about the horrible service and % of claims Denied by home owners!

Liked concept of a home warranty. Didn’t like unprofessional vendor’s plumbing repair that damaged my sink counter nor initially the incorrect info from Choice as to how to handle my claim against vendor. Eventionally, Choice gave me correct instruction but it’s still not resolved after a month and has been a frustrating experience.
