In a recent claim, when I contacted Choice in regards to difficulty that I was having getting the technician that they sent to complete the work, rather than help me or help the technician resolve the issues with the manufacturer warranty, they instructed me to contact the technician myself. I had already been waiting for the technician to figure out how to order the part for a month and a half and decided to just contact someone else.

After making our first claim to have some one come fix our electric clothes dryer, it to a week for someone to come inspect it. After he found out want was wrong, it took a another week to get the part and have him come back to put it in. We were without our dryer for over 2 weeks.

What I like - They quickly schedule a local company to assess your problem. Oftentimes the repairs are done quickly if the problems are minor. What I don't like - They do NOT honor their contract. I needed a refrigerator replaced and they only offered me 900 to replace it. I eventually get them to up that amount to 1200 but that is still short of 3000 that is stated in their contract. I use CHW for coverage on two properties and they still shorted me. This company will repair the little things but look to stiff you on the bigger repairs. Ill be looking for a new company after this contract expires.

We have had a fiasco with trying to have our attic fan repaired. The representative for first company assigned called us 10 minutes before arrival to say his company does not work on attic fans. We went back to square 1 and had a new company assigned by Choice. Even tho we provided all specifications for the unit and what was needed, he came unprepared and said he has to come back. A week later, not having heard from him (Sam at Bsquare Electric), we called. He didn't remember being at our house and had done nothing to get the parts. He said he would get the parts and come on Monday morning - the morning of the buyers' walk thru of our home; we settle on Monday. On top of that, even tho the contract says attic fans are covered, no mention is made of the cap. So, in addition to paying our $75 service fee, we now have to pay an additional $70 for the parts. This is totally unacceptable.

Had my first claim at the end of June for my refrigerator. Claim process went well and contract was handled by Sears Home Warranty. Service call went well and it was determined that a new compressor was needed. After almost 2 months without a replacement part a new contractor was scheduled and and job completed within a week. I was also charged $37.50 for some service related work with the second contractor. Don’t understand what this is and is not stated in my contract. I was only supposedly only responsible for a $75 service charge which was paid with the first contractor. Overall this was the worst experience with a home warranty company that I have ever had

getting my appliance fixed happened quickly, but so far, not worth what I have paid into the company since I started over a year ago, and turned in an issue with my pool pump, ok they said they would get someone to come fix it or change out the pump, after a year I just went ahead and did it myself.... when I told Choice Home Warranty manager about this, all he could say was I was wrong, they always get what they promise done.... so as far as I am concerned, I spent the money to cover my pool but they didn't live up to their part.... so scoring a 5 would take alot of work on their part....

Sadly, when my washing machine could not be repaired, the company did not "replace it" as stated in their advertisement. It took approximately three weeks for this decision to happen. Four days after reporting the problem passed before a repair man came. He diagnosed the problem and ordered new parts, and almost 2 weeks passed before the repairman came back, only to find the motor was not working and it no longer was being manufactured.( during this time, I continued to call for updates and was "put off") . Finally, I was told the washer would not be replaced and I would either receive a gift card to Lowe's or a check would be sent to me---note that this would take 30 days. I was shocked and quite upset when the amount would not even cover the cost of a washer. When my garbage disposal broke and could not be repaired, it was replaced as stated in the advertisement, thus I was dismayed when the case manager would not explain why the amount decided would be approximately 60% of a new washer, not including the additional expense of delivery charges, new hoses charge, etc. I'm not sure if the company has a change of management, or has been purchased. In my opinion, it has not honored its claim of "if it cannot be fiixed, we will replace" . After speaking with many representatives, I was assigned a case manager and after much discussion, I was allotted half the price of a new machine. In addition to buying a new machine, I had to pay for delivery and new hoses, as well as, take away expense of removing the old machine.

Choice Home Warranty has done no follow up on any call to ensure it was resolved or to see if there were issues.

The premium is too expensive to justify the means. Will choice find you a servicer to fix your problem? Absolutely. But with Choice recently increasing their monthly/annual rates and also increasing the vendors service fee from $75 to $100 per visit, it's hard worth it. The alternative (not having home warranty) can be equally expensive. So as a home owner you are pretty much forced into a corner, based out of fear of what is to come in the future.

Choice agreed to a settlement. After that it was all downhill I had to wait 29 days to get the replacement check so I could pay for a new refrigerator. They gave me all kinds of excuses for not being more prompt with the payment eg. Their company procedure. Try going without a refrigerator for that long, living out of a cooler. Not a good solution by Choice.

The Good is their monthly rate. The Bad is you can never talk to a live Customer Service Rep on the phone. Their customer service SUCKS! You ALWAYS have to leave a voice mail for someone to call you back. Sometimes it can talk an hour or even longer just to talk to someone so you can file a claim. The worst part is whatever needs fixed requires you having to WAIT at least 30 DAYS just to get a check from Choice in order to replace your old device. I needed to buy a new washing machine. My former home warranty company sent me a check to replace my item(s) within 3-7 days max. They also low ball you as well on your item they are giving you a check to replace. I'm definitely leaving Choice as soon as I receive my check & will be finding a better home warranty company.

Terrible experience Lack of communication and follow up, changed plumbers without telling me, you stated the part for bathroom was under warranty and you wouldn't replace it. IT WASN'T UNDER WARRANTY and how would you even know you never asked age of part and it wasn't under warranty..I HAD TO BUY PART MYSELF. I was without water to my house for a week and YOU DELAYED repairs. I had to keep calling then you made me submit and pay for 2nd claim though you didn't tell me this until I called again. The plumbers who finally fixed the issues were great though I had to communicate with them directly because you were hopeless. I paid for a 5yr coverage and I got treated like this TERRIBLE.

Everyone who showed up to repair my refrigerator and AC were more than great. Problem is that I believe there's still a major problem with the AC and it was my understanding that we were still waiting for approval. I have to turn off power to the unit to shut it down. Otherwise it continues to run non stop. I keep my thermostat at 80. Also, its not constant but there are times when you can hear it hum up/down. I will try contacting Choice about this.

It’s difficult to get ahold of anyone. Their system only operates on call backs and they surge call within 24 hrs. When they did,, there was an obvious language barrier and out made it difficult to convey the real issue. When all was says and done, it’s been weeks since my $1,100 dishwasher failed. They offered me a $250 gift card at first but we agreed to a $350 check. I still haven’t received the check and I likely won’t be renewing Choice in the future.

No direct contact with customer service. I also was not aware that issues needed to be brought to CS within 30 days. I had a problem with a service job and repair man would not return to complete it. Finally after speakjng to 3 reps, one CSR informed me I only had 30 days to complain. Issue was resolved to my satisfaction but took over 2 months.

My most recent call was for my AC. Living in AZ, ac is a must. It went out on Thurs 7/25. Temperatures in my house exceeded 92 degrees. I sent follow-ups and on Sunday the person said, well they only repair M-F. So Monday came with the scheduled service for Aug 2. This was totally unacceptable. I went a different direction and my air was fixed Jilt 29th. Cancelled my service call on Wed. I can see if an appliance fails (except fridge) you can wait, but in AZ with temp in excess of 115, this should have been fixed much more quickly. Never have I waited this long for AC. Disappointing!

It’s definitely worth it when getting an older house that’s expected to have issues especially with dual HVAC systems. The claim process can be slow for some claims but overall I’m glad I have it. Had some minor issues on a microwave claim but had 3 others that had no real issues. I’d rather have it versus not having it.

I'd notified Choice that the tub needing repair was a therapy tub. A faucet needed repair. The provider is allotted a specific amount for a faucet cartridge, but the faucet cartridge for therapy tubs costs $100+. I feel Choice should have taken that into consideration because I, the insured, had to pay for the more expensive cartridge myself.

I'm still upset able the way the contractor left my aluminum pole that comes from my attic down to the floor. I can't get my air filter in the vent because the pole is blocking it. And everytime I would call about it I get disconnected for some reason. They had came out to do duct work. So maybe after someone read this they will reach out to me and get it done right. I have made two service calls since signing up for the warranty. One was for a dishwasher and one for garbage disposal. Getting a technician scheduled to come worked out well and the plumber for the garbage disposal literally came into business days and resolved the issue within 10 minutes. The concern I have is over the repair that was needed for the dishwasher. Only one of the three parts that required replacement were covered by the warranty. I had to pay for the two other parts totaling over $230.

LOVED the ease of the online request to fix my appliance, and evaluation of my appliance. Very DISAPPOINTED in the initial AMOUNT and final AMOUNT of the LOWE'S GIFT CARD offer. Initially, I was offered only $329.00 for an oven valued at over $2,000. Then, after escalating the issue, Victoria was able to increase my Lowe's gift card to $1,012.00. Unfortunately, that was not enough to cover my new oven and installation, but at least I was able to purchase a NEW, lower-end, 27" oven.
