AC unit not cooling was reported, T-stat was set on 75, house temp was 81 degrees and outside unit was running constant. Prompt response from CW and from AC contractor was great. AC tech was great, informed me and CW, that the problem with my 12yr old AC unit was inefficiency, Only 10 degree difference across the coils but should be 18 to 21 degree difference. AC tech stated to me the unit needed to be replaced and turned in his report to CW. CW reported to me "NO PROBLEM FOUND". THANKS

Got a repair technician out quickly. But only covered $500 of a $4880 water leak repair. Pretty disappointed in the coverage. Have policy for this kind of situation and they find a way to not cover the cost or even part of it. Not the first time this has happened. 😞

I filed an air-conditioning claim on August 14, tomorrow is September 12 and the service is still not been completed. I’ve spent over an hour on the phone daily between calling the warranty company, the air conditioning technicians, and now the manager at carrier is involved, but for some reason, no one can get the orders straight to complete the installation. I am over 65 years old and have been living in hundred degree temperatures without an air conditioning for nearly a month.

I was denied a claim when the company they they sent to my house works for them and said the claim should 100 percent should be covered I have been with out being able to use my kitchen sink over a month since I made the claim and still waiting Hopefully who ever receives thi review can do the right thing I paid my bill in full for the warranty. I have two Minisplit a/c units. One was repaired then the other had the same problem identical and they denied second unit based on they said they should not have repaired the first on with same problem. They are pitiful. If they should not have repaired the first one then they wouldn’t have. They blamed it on the company they themselves recommended. First unit repaired is working fine. Never buy choice home warranty.

I don’t like the way things that I have an issue with need to be “approved” AFTER the service tech is in my home and I’ve already paid the service fee. If the service is not approved I’m still required to pay the service fee. This was never an issue with my last home warranty company. I’ve also been informed Choice almost never approves anything electrical so why do they even pretend to offer electrical coverage.

No communication with company after passing us on to Sears, the Sears told us the part was ordered by Choice. We have been waiting since middle of June to get our ac repaired, and when I was finally was able to get thru to Choice, I was told the claim had been cancelled--too much time had passed! Still working on it though, and hopefully by the first snow we will have a functioning ac.

My hvac went out in the middle of June one month into my home warranty. First they sent an hvac repair man that couldn’t speak any English, submitted testing results they requested to evaluate the claim for repair, submitted them incorrectly, and took one week to return to the home to resubmit the test results and did it incorrectly again. After 3 weeks of back and forth on the phone and through their reporting system, I was granted permission to get my own repair guy out. After submitting the documentation they requested, they told me my claim was in process. We are now 6 weeks into the process and they still haven’t approved my claim and have now shut down my claim. This is the worst experience I have had with any company.

My refrigerator started failing in February. In March I filed a claim with Choice. First Technician said it needed a new compressor and it was approved. I waited 2 weeks, no follow up. I called technician he said he was waiting for part and would install in a week. 2 more weeks, no contact. I had to call Choice 5 times to get them to send another tech company. Then next one didn't know how to work on. The third one said it needed a new compressor. Since the refrigerator was still barely cooling and running constantly, Choice closed the claim without telling me. They then made me pay another $75 to start a new claim. This time, GE repair was sent out and said it needed multiple parts. As per procedure, they would get authorization from Choice, which they received and ordered the parts. One part was on back order, so I started the waiting game again, GE kept pushing the part arrival date back from August, then September, now October. They sent a message to Choice that maybe I just should be cashed out to get a new unit. I never heard from Choice so I contacted them after a week. They told me that they never heard from me or their GE repair technician, so they closed that second claim out. This at best is harassment bordering on fraud.

CHW is the wurst at following up after Technician visit. My Air condition unit has bee out since 8/24/24 Tech made it out on Tuesday 8/27/24 and said there is a Freon leak in the line and I have to replace the entire unit. He never tried to find the leak. I called CHW and have yet to receive a call back. They tell you if you don’t leave a call back number the call will disconnect. This is crazy. It is very hot in TX and I need some answers sooner than later

Didn't like the fact that the first offer was low, it was changed when I called though. I didn't like that the funds are in the form of a Lowe's gift card and having to wait 30 days to get it. In the mean time I had to go buy a new dryer now I'll have a Lowe's gift to try and spend. If there is that kind of wait wait 30 days a Visa or Master Card gift card would be the better choice.

This was my first claim filed with Choice Home Warrenty and if I knew how slow and unresponsive this company would be I would never have purchased my warrenty with them. I submitted a claim for my fridge on July 1st and they claimed for over a week that they could not get a contractor in to see the unit. I called on July 8th and had someone come out that day. My fridge was deemed irreperable so I submitted photos and documentation from the contractor recommending a new unit be purchased. I was told I would receive a gift card from Lowe's to cover the cost of a replacement unit. The exact same fridge that had broken cost $100 more at Lowe's than the amount of the gift card and it was currently on sale due to Independence Day. I was not trying to upgrade or get anything more than what was under warranty and I had to pay out of pocket for that. I was also told that I would receive my gift card in the next 30 days. It was impossible to wait until I receive the gift card to buy a new fridge since I had already been without one for over a week. So now I have a unused Lowe's gift card and a credit card bill of almost $600. Too bad I'm stuck with Choice for another 5 eyars

Made two claims and would get an automatic appointment for the service but within an hour the appointment date and time would change. For one of my claims a guy came out and barely did anything to our AC unit and let us know he needed to get paid beforehand then told us we needed to call an electrician for that. Then we reached out for an electrician and noticed that the appointment that was made was not going to work out for us since we both work. I called and asked if he had any other day with a later time and the guy just blatantly said “no I don’t know what to tell you.” Didn’t even offer to find another day for us. I canceled that appointment and then called to schedule another company and within the hour I had three appointments made then canceled, rescheduled and canceled again.

In addition, they would only give us a Lowe’s gift card not a check. We are forced to purchase only from Lowes now. Obviously, they get a kickback. Worse of all, we had to wait a minimum of three weeks for them to just email the gift card. Save yourself the hassle and find another warranty company although I fear they are all the same kind of crooks!

i would give zero and never recommend . bought their warranty . It happened that i claim pressure valve of heater water replacement , they sent me checking guys and paid $75 and and the company asked repair cost . i asked them what they mean repair cost, they said go fix yourself and send us the cost and then reimburse you , weird - right ! , anyways I called my area company to fix it and sent them the receipt. and they replied since you already paid we do not cover it . I called customer service and transferred to so called manager , said since you buy the house recently we do not cover it . I explained the house and the pressure valave was working fine and now needs repair and showed the inspection done after i bought the house , he said we do not reimburse you, really , why then i bought you warranty. I just hung the phone , do not let them make my day feel headache. never never recommend them, scam-

Terrible experience Lack of communication and follow up, changed plumbers without telling me, you stated the part for bathroom was under warranty and you wouldn't replace it. IT WASN'T UNDER WARRANTY and how would you even know you never asked age of part and it wasn't under warranty..I HAD TO BUY PART MYSELF. I was without water to my house for a week and YOU DELAYED repairs. I had to keep calling then you made me submit and pay for 2nd claim though you didn't tell me this until I called again. The plumbers who finally fixed the issues were great though I had to communicate with them directly because you were hopeless. I paid for a 5yr coverage and I got treated like this TERRIBLE.

Everyone who showed up to repair my refrigerator and AC were more than great. Problem is that I believe there's still a major problem with the AC and it was my understanding that we were still waiting for approval. I have to turn off power to the unit to shut it down. Otherwise it continues to run non stop. I keep my thermostat at 80. Also, its not constant but there are times when you can hear it hum up/down. I will try contacting Choice about this.

The only negative thing was the timing. I didn’t like the missed appointment by the technician because one of my AC units stopped working and this is one the hottest summers ever. The following week an appointment was rescheduled and my AC was repaired promptly and cool air was blowing again.

It’s difficult to get ahold of anyone. Their system only operates on call backs and they surge call within 24 hrs. When they did,, there was an obvious language barrier and out made it difficult to convey the real issue. When all was says and done, it’s been weeks since my $1,100 dishwasher failed. They offered me a $250 gift card at first but we agreed to a $350 check. I still haven’t received the check and I likely won’t be renewing Choice in the future.

No direct contact with customer service. I also was not aware that issues needed to be brought to CS within 30 days. I had a problem with a service job and repair man would not return to complete it. Finally after speakjng to 3 reps, one CSR informed me I only had 30 days to complain. Issue was resolved to my satisfaction but took over 2 months.

My most recent call was for my AC. Living in AZ, ac is a must. It went out on Thurs 7/25. Temperatures in my house exceeded 92 degrees. I sent follow-ups and on Sunday the person said, well they only repair M-F. So Monday came with the scheduled service for Aug 2. This was totally unacceptable. I went a different direction and my air was fixed Jilt 29th. Cancelled my service call on Wed. I can see if an appliance fails (except fridge) you can wait, but in AZ with temp in excess of 115, this should have been fixed much more quickly. Never have I waited this long for AC. Disappointing!

It’s definitely worth it when getting an older house that’s expected to have issues especially with dual HVAC systems. The claim process can be slow for some claims but overall I’m glad I have it. Had some minor issues on a microwave claim but had 3 others that had no real issues. I’d rather have it versus not having it.

I'd notified Choice that the tub needing repair was a therapy tub. A faucet needed repair. The provider is allotted a specific amount for a faucet cartridge, but the faucet cartridge for therapy tubs costs $100+. I feel Choice should have taken that into consideration because I, the insured, had to pay for the more expensive cartridge myself.

I'm still upset able the way the contractor left my aluminum pole that comes from my attic down to the floor. I can't get my air filter in the vent because the pole is blocking it. And everytime I would call about it I get disconnected for some reason. They had came out to do duct work. So maybe after someone read this they will reach out to me and get it done right. I have made two service calls since signing up for the warranty. One was for a dishwasher and one for garbage disposal. Getting a technician scheduled to come worked out well and the plumber for the garbage disposal literally came into business days and resolved the issue within 10 minutes. The concern I have is over the repair that was needed for the dishwasher. Only one of the three parts that required replacement were covered by the warranty. I had to pay for the two other parts totaling over $230.

LOVED the ease of the online request to fix my appliance, and evaluation of my appliance. Very DISAPPOINTED in the initial AMOUNT and final AMOUNT of the LOWE'S GIFT CARD offer. Initially, I was offered only $329.00 for an oven valued at over $2,000. Then, after escalating the issue, Victoria was able to increase my Lowe's gift card to $1,012.00. Unfortunately, that was not enough to cover my new oven and installation, but at least I was able to purchase a NEW, lower-end, 27" oven.
