I always have to fight with them to get things done. I needed my septic pumped due to a backup. they never responded to it. shameful. its only 200 off and I pay over 1 grand a year. So dumb would not recommend.

They lie, my stove thermostat went out , burner went mega and top cracked even though my contract said it covered stove tops they said it broke and they do not cover breakage???? . They will cover small parts but they find some unwritten excuse for not covering it. No piece of mind with these guys. Save your money .

I switched from another company to CHW because the agent on the phone convinced me how comprehensive the coverage was. Nope. I purchased an older home last year which passed inspection before my purchase. This year, I had a leak under the kitchen sink. CHW has denied coverage because the piping wasn't done correctly. If they don't cover items as is, why bother even having a warranty? Now there is a musty smell in the cabinet. If it's black mold will they cover that? Will they cover replacing of the bottom of the cabinet regardless of cause? Im not spending money on another service call to be told that the issue isn't covered. I've made other arrangements to fix the problem. Also, they send notices about appointment times which are not correct. You have to call the provider to schedule the appointment. The technician who came out was excellent. He called about 20 minutes prior to tell me he was on the way. He was polite and friendly. He said the fix was easy and thought that it would be a covered repair. Needless to say, I will look for another company when renewal time comes around. So far I think these companies are worthless based on my 2 experiences

I am sorry this warranty company is a scam. I have a $1000 appliance that stopped working. It took three weeks for a service person, handpicked by CHW, show up. I tried to get CHW to find another service person multiple times, but they would not change the appointment. The service person showed up and determined two parts were needed. It took three weeks for the parts to come in. Then, it took another two weeks for the service person to return and put in the parts. Yup, that did not fix the appliance. One week later, CHW notified us that they would not fix the appliance, but would cut us a check to buy a new one. Well, they gave us under $350. I contacted the manufacturer, and asked them for a quotation for replacement of like kind. That would be $1,250 retail. I have read the policy many times, and it does not guarantee replacement cost. Instead, they offer "their cost" for an appliance with similar specs. $350 is all! I asked them to please tell me where they could buy a similar appliance for that amount. They could not give me an answer. I tried to push this up the chain, but there is no leadership chain. Just dead ends. There is no way to negotiate or justify for a different amount. They said we could decline the settlement, which means just not take the check, and they would close the claim. Oh, they also will not pay for delivery or installation of a replacement appliance. That is in the policy. I would absolutely avoid CHW. We have tried twice to get them to pay for broken appliances, and both times we received less than 25% of the cost of getting and installing a new one of like kind. We used to have American Home Shield. While they were also a bit tight with the reimbursements, they were significantly more reasonable. AHS was also significantly better at getting a prompt service visit and response.

I had to hire another electrician to complete this job. I want to cancel my contract and receive my full amount that I paid which was $1,575.00. I can’t get anyone to call me back when I contact Choice Home Warranty. I have left numerous messages with no results. I could not get the Electrical Company to answer the phone except to leave messages and they don’t return calls or emails. I tried for two weeks to get this circuit breaker fixed either no results. The refrigerator was tripping the circuit breaker every day at least once per night and day.

Light was not installed properly, so wasn't covered. Heard the same excuse given to two other of your clients who were nit covered for breakdowns. Seems to be your answer as to how to get out of coverage. How does a customer know if something is not installed properly? My light worked for two years and now it isn't working. What does not installed properly have to do with it not working two years later?

Terrible company. They made myself and my hvac vendor jump through hoops during my claim process. They dragged on for weeks while my family was without heat during the winter. They ultimately denied my claim for repair on our hvac stating that it was still under warranty. My home was 19 years old at the time, and our system was not under warranty. Don’t waste your time or money.

Foreign CSR often make mistakes when trying to help with issues. Extremely hard to get help. Someone who was supposed to be a specialist sent me an email concerning my issues and a link that didn’t work. I have emailed this person (c green) twice with no response. My toilets are still not repaired and foul water is still backed up in my dishwasher. It stinks and the kitchen and bathrooms are a mess!

Have several rental homes. Very hard to get paid. Also to get someone out for service for backed up sewer had to wait weeks. Always a reason but any claim plan on several days of waiting. This is really said. I was told they could not find a plumber for two homes two different claims. Ended paying to get my own plumber. Which I could get same day. They need more company’s to do work for them, however when I talk to other plumbers they have told me they worked with them in the past but hard to get paid. I just changed my home warranty to this company since I was emailed no less than 10 times a day saying how wonderful you are. Thats a lie. First time I call you all say you will not warranty my AC. Tech came out and said the fuse was blown!!! He replaced and charged the freon with 2lbs and stated it really didn't even need freon. After service, compressor made terrible noise when it used to be quiet. Now I have a $3500 bill at no fault of mine.

Absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with. They lie, misrepresent their products, do not have a good reputation with service providers. They push for you to pay for the service and they will “reimburse” like a fool I took them at their word and got stuck with an $18,500 bill. At first they told me they would only cover $5,000, but when it came to pay they changed it to $1500. Total fraudulent company, looking at legal options. Stay away, if you are buying a house that come with Choice Home Warranty…make sure they get a different provider.

My refrigerator has been leaking for six months. Home warranty has sent people out three different times to fix it, and it is still leaking. One time it took them over two months to get someone to come out and fix it. Choice Home Warranty. Denied claims that should have been approved. The contact person was no help. Approved claims take months to receive payment. Takes days to find a contractor for us, then we have to find our own contractor and go through a lengthy approval process for them. We have to pay the contractor and wait to be reimbursed for a ridiculous amount of time!
