I have had good customer service from choice warranty. The reason I didn't give a full five star rating is because often times, they are unable to find a service technician and I must use the option where I have to find a repair man and get reimbursed. Although the reimbursement occurs, it takes 30 days to get my money back.

When I signed up I was told that if the appliance ever had to be replaced it would be with the same model or the latest version. I'm still using my broken refrigerator cause one it wasn't fixed and 2 the funds they are offering for a newer refrigerator from Lowe's barley get a refrigerator had I known they would just give me whatever I would have went with a different warranty company very disappointed the gentleman sold me a dream

Biggest issue is that contrary to all of their advertising they do not pay the replacement cost. After you go through all the effort to file a claim, wait for the repairman, and then waste a day for the repair, you get the news that the repair will cost $xxx and warranty will pay approx half. Totally disappointing. Be honest and tell people that you only pay half. Your legalese buried on page 13 of your contract ruins any credibility that ever existed.

Quick response to sending technicians ... and all technicians have been really helpful and good. But if you have two things that go bad (oven, refrigerator) at the same time the fee is doubled. For one technician who handles both refrigerator and oven, it is billed as two visits though only one person shows up. Feels like that is a rip-off, and more can be done in this area. Working with someone on the phone is completely unsatisfying as the call center is outside of US and there is no context or support to get satisfactory answers.

The individuals that I've had the pleasure of interacting with were not as customer oriented or friendly as I would expect for a company that is supposedly providing warranty services for people's homes. I just did not think that the individuals who were assigned to my claim did the due diligence to research the actual home appliance that was in question and the money that they offered me to settle a replacement of the item was ridiculous. When you're talking about comparing one item to another, a stove top does not compare to a double wall oven. I'm trying to get out of my contract and get my money back because I paid for 3 years in advance.

I've only used it twice. The first time I used it was for a plumber who didn't come. I called him, he said, "Oh, I thought you cancelled." And we hadn't cancelled. He did come and he was very nice, but he didn't tighten all the screws and the toilet leaked, but luckily my partner was able to fix that. The last time, which we just used last week or two weeks ago, was the air conditioning guy and he was very good. He came on time, he called me before he came, he fixed the problem and knew what to do and he was good.

My refrigerator went out, so put the claim online and was easy. Got an e-mail and a phone call for an appointment that was going to be set up with a local technician. They gave me the verdict that it needed to be replaced. The only downfall is that they said that it could take 15 to 30 days to get the gift cards to get a new refrigerator. Everything else was awesome.

We had a couple issues and Choice was not able to help and I was a little disappointed. They wouldn't even listen to what the problem was. One issue was a range. When we first moved in, the range was inoperable. It was very unsafe. We called the warranty department on it. They sent a technician out. He agreed that it was really unsafe, but he said that he could not recommend it to be replaced, but that he could put in the notes that we wanted it replaced or do like a replacement value or something. I can't remember the exact wording but he said as long as the parts were available that would be what he would have to do. When I called Choice Warranty to talk to them about it, they said sorry, there's nothing we can do. The technician said that it would be fixed and that's all there is to it. And they said, we see your notes, and we saw that he said it was unsafe. We saw that you said it was unsafe, but it's fixable.

I like how quickly I am contacted when I make a claim, however I have been less than impressed with the quality of the technicians. My last service call was to repair my dishwasher. The technician arrived and diagnosed a motor issue. I paid his fee, and never heard back from him. I had to hire another technician to repair my dishwasher because I had been unable to use it for a month.

The service has been pretty good. They respond quite quickly, it's just they can't get it together about ordering parts and things like that. My washing machine quit. They came over quite quickly. Within a couple days. They were here to have somebody look at it. He ordered parts, parts came, somebody came to put put them in. They weren't the right parts. Still have no washing machine. And it's been, I think we're going on three weeks now without a washing machine.

I never really had any problems. When I called everything was taken care of. I just used it for my toilet. It went very well. He fixed the inside of the toilet because the toilet wasold and he was thinking that they were going to replace it, but they didn't. They just ended up you have to redo all the inside.

I've had some instances where they don't cover items. And it's a bit disappointing. We had a washing machine issue and they claimed they had a surge and therefore did not want to cover the part. And we did not have any surge in our power. It was just probably turning the machine off and that was very disappointing. The technician left my machine unassembled and never returned because Choice would not allow him to return to put it back into place.

Every year or so they try to raise the rate and they don't ever tell you and I'm on a fixed income and they're always trying to give away stuff for free, but they won't leave long term customers alone. And then when you use the warranty, like I'm waiting today to get my dishwasher fixed and I have been without it for 10 days, so I'm not real happy with the way they scan their people that they use to come do the work. I think they need to improve on that and know who they're sending and the people that they're sending need to be more more prompt. I've had the parts in my house for about a week now. I think that home choice warranty could do a better job about that. I think that when we have a long term customer like myself, you can leave us alone, especially when I've explained to them I had cancer, I'm on disability and I can't afford to have them keep jacking my rate up every year because they throw it in the computer and it spits it out at the higher rate. They even tried to raise the service fee rate and they don't give you any warning. When you bring it to their attention, they don't give you any hassles about reversing it back to what you agreed upon, but they shouldn't even mess with it. And if they do, they should send in writing the fact that they need to do this or this or this, and give you the choice at that point, so it's not a surprise. They told me it was supposed to be $75 and they go, well, it's going to be $85. Well, no it's not. It's $75 because that's what we agreed upon. And then I pay a rate of $47.17 a month. It's gone up to $55 something or other without any notification. They reversed it and then they tried to give you a month free. I don't need their month free, I just need them to leave me alone.

Had this warranty for a few years have used it a few times. My dryer broke down ChoiceHome warranty technician couldn't fix it. Choice decided to compensate $335 towards a dryer. There's no way a gas-dryer costs $300 to replace given that to install a gas dryer costs $500 gas dryers cost $800 and up. That's very disappointing and disturbing. Warranties are meant to replace lost appliances/ covered items under warranty.

This time we had to call our own man because of the deep freeze making heating companies less available especially over the weekend. Getting the service tech out fast was good. Choice Home Warranty determined to not repair the microwave due to age. They offered $191 for a convection microwave which does not cover the replacement nor the installation. Choice Home Warranty is very good when comes to providing service and the item can be repaired but definitely not an actual replacement but only a portion of the cost.

The overall process was quick and easy. The technician was knowledgeable, professional and on time. After the initial diagnosis the parts were ordered, arrived and installed trying to trouble shoot the problem. Our Dishwasher will need to be replaced. You do not get replacement value but I was offered a fair price for the machine in the form of an e-credit to Lowes. I'm still waiting on that but over all it was good.

I have found this appointment to be confusing! My technician came Sept 18 and found our ice maker was not working. He ordered the part and I paid the $60 fee. Today he came back to install the part but no parts cane to my house. Luckily John had one part with him, which he installed. The other part (new flap for ice maker door) has not arrived and he will need to make another hoouse call when that arrives. I have not renewed our coverage until I got this call completed. Right now Iam on the fence concerning renewal.
