The service I received was so professional and very reasonable. AHS is great at matching contractors to my needs. The contractors for this recent job were CNG. They repaired a leak under my slab and did an amazing job! They did the job in 2 days and cleaned up after themselves. They did the least amount of damage possible so that when they were done, they could restore my space like they found it. They were courteous, on time, and diligent about the work they did. I'd recommend to anyone for any plumbing needs.

Pro: I like the quick response and the ease of filing a claim. I like that I can pay the membership monthly not yearly. Con: Companies that AHS send out are not always honest. One such who was giving a free review told me that my A/C was leaking freon and I needed to file a claim. After doing so the next company said I did not have a leak. AHS would return their fee. When an items needs to be replaced 30 days to make a decision would be better than 20 days.

I couldn't be happier. My fridge died, they came out quickly and determined it couldn't be repaired. Within 48 hours they had approved a payout since they didn't have a comparable replacement in inventory. The payout hit my account with 48 hours. Thank you! Previously I had a contract with Choice Home Warranty and it was a nightmare. They only payout wholesale cost with a Lowe's gift card and it took 30 days to receive the gift card. Horrible service.

The best experience ever of getting exactly what you are paying for, 1st of all we are talking about being in the dead of wintertime with freezing cold temperatures outside, i play my online claim which with an hour AHS had contacted a supplier to repair my heating system, and they reached in within another hour to say they were coming the very next day and within 24 hours it was repaired,

I've had AHS for more than 20 years on 4 different homes. Over The years I've had 4 heat pumps replaced 2 dishwashers, 3 hot water heaters repair to two fridges and 2 washers. People think that home warranties aren't really needed, but when you're looking at replacing a six or seven thousand dollar heat pump.Sometimes this money you just don't have. This is an essential policy fir any home owner Highly recommend will always have one

I was very happy with the entire transaction. American Home Shield contacted the company to look at my central heating unit and they came out the next day and found out that it was my blower. He had to wait until the next day to get a part to replace with the newer blower, but arrived on time and had it repaired with no problem. The technician was friendly and professional and really did a good job.

I like the fact that I call AHS and they assign a vendor. The service charge is okay. Sometimes there is miscommunication problems between AHS and the vendor and this can hold up the ordering of parts or the approval of repair.

When I contacted American Home Shield due to no heat I was given only 1 contractor's name. That contractor was not available for almost a week. With no heat and frigid temperatures, it was imperative that I couldn't wait. The next contractor was Jay Jay Mechncal and they did a quick turnaround with replacing the furnace and had excellent customer service.

I have been satisfied with the service providers that AHS has referred me to. What concerns me that the cost of the monthly premium has gone up A LOT!!! I have been an AHS customer for over 25 years so I now how much the premium has increased. Furthermore, the service call has increased A LOT too to now $108 just for AHS to do the service request!! Theses increases have made it almost too high for me to continue with AHS. I am a 75 year old senior on a fixed income.

I like the convenience of filing service request. Like the tracking and asking the feedback how the vendor did it. I found some times some of the service companies does not do service but try to avoid service. Which as a customer I feel AHS is behind it. I also came across some companies charging too much on customer as well as AHS. You as company should help the customer when a customer is getting charged exubarent price.

Just had issue with my free-standing range. Has to be replaced. I really like how the replacement options were presented. I have a new range hopefully coming 2/02/2025. No cost to me. I had an electrical problem. The process was quick and problem resolved in less than one hour. AHS processed the claim. Contractor called me the same day. We set appt. up for two days later. Problem in circuit was a easily solved and my Christmas lights were on again that evening. I was with another company previous to AHS. Took days to get anyone to return my call. AHS, BIG IMPROVEMENTS. I highly recommend AHS.

Works pretty well and gets service completed in timely manner. Did have an issue once when our fridge went out and they deposited the wrong amount for replacement and expected us to wait up to 30 days for a check to replace our fridge. Also the deductible for the hot water tank was incredibly high.

I would have given a 10 rating if not for previous service calls to address a water leakage issue with our refrigerator. The flooring in the area around the frigerator suffered extreme water damage. It was such a dissapointment that it took numerous service calls to get the issue resolve.

It's unfortunate that companies such as AHS entice customers to sign up for warranty plans, offering incentives like your Refer A Friend promotion. However, when a friend is referred, it is so incredibly difficult to then get your supposed reward. I signed up in November and referred my niece a month or so later. Your promotion clearly states that both of us would receive a $100 Amazon gift card. We only received $25, and when my niece attempted to redeem her card, there was only $7 on it. We spoke with a representative in your member resolutions department who assured us that the information was now correctly input in your system and that we would receive our rewards soon. To this date, we have received nothing. AHS needs to act in good faith on their promotions. As such, I will hesitate to refer anyone else.

American Home Shield is slow, at times, to respond when an appliance needs to be replaced. I currently have an issue with my washer. The assigned contractor has serviced my washer four times, ordered two parts and still hasn't resolved the issue. AHS advertises replacement of appliances, but, it's a slow process when it becomes apparent that the contractor can't fix the issue. It appears to me the contractor is just throwing darts and hoping something sticks. This is bad service.

My daughter cancelled her membership I was about to do the same except for a helpful and supportive representative named Gabs who went the extra mile to address my concerns and actually help me and my daughter to renew both of our memberships. The process of filing a claim is very simple. The response time was good, but it took a week to get a service technician to home, and another two weeks to receive the replacement dishwasher. The technicians installing the dishwasher did not clean up after themselves as others have done. We are pleased with the overall process but would like to see improvement in response time.

AHS apparently solved the very serious problem in contacting a live person. On line, AHS now has a number (or email) for a phone call back. They promptly called and resolved my issue --- which was determining whether the repair was covered. It was covered, the service was great and very efficient.

Our experience over the last 15+ years with AHS has been hit or miss. On the negative side, we have had to reject some of their contractors because, for example, one of the contractors truly deserved their 1.4 out of 5.0 Yelp rating. We have had furnace repairs and hot water tank replacement where the workers "jury rigged" a solution that we needed to live with or needed to be corrected in a future visit. In another case, we had to wait for nearly a month for our old (and eventually replaced) refrigerator to be repaired because the first technician completely misdiagnosed the problem. On the positive side however, our last call for our clothes dryer went extremely well. After I placed my request to AHS and then saw who they assigned to service it, I immediately called AHS and they assigned a different company who did a fantastic job. And in fairness, most of the AHS contractors have been ok to good. However, sometimes, it takes more time than we expected for the problems to be resolved.

I have had great service and I’ve had bad service with AHS, we have been customers for 21 years, in the past they were a very trusted company and provided great service, I have had a mixed bag lately. I have had a few unexpected claims. I did have great service last week with an plumber, however we had another plumber over a month ago so had a cracked disposal and it was addressed, so it caused water damage my husband and I will need to repair but the plumber that came out just a few days ago had it diagnosed quickly and a new disposal in about 20-30 minutes. Working still with another claim, the stove went out and they are requiring a rebuild of our stove, have been dealing with this since around Thanksgiving so late November, the appliance repair company they are using for this has been great to work with and we can still use our stovetop but not the oven, it could be worse but it’s challenging.

Peace of mind. However, there are few options through their customer service. For instance, my refrigerator is currently broken. Is has been broke since November. The company they contract with, Sears Home Service, keeps cancelling and rescheduling the appointment for one month out. The next one is 14 Jan. 2025. I am beyond frustrated. The parts arrived back in November but they keep cancelling. I called and AHS is of no help. I spoke with their "Escalation Department." They said since the parts are here there's nothing they can do. I am very worried Sears will just cancel again. What do I do???

My very first experience with AHS was better then I anticipated. My central AC unit stopped working, I called AHS and requested service. The process was easy and very good communication with AHS and repair company. They found that it was the thermostat that failed and needed replacing. This is where I thought the problems were going to start, I had a very expensive digital thermostat from Lennox and I figured they were going to give some cheap replacement but to my surprise they replaced it with an equivalent model since mine was no longer available and all I paid was the agreed service fee. Excellent outcome, glad I made the leap of faith and protected my home with AHS

They have honored all my requests and bitchy at times demands and I apolergize, no offense was meant, I was a struggling house wife who had a drama and her appliance broke just before guests arrived lol. Thats how kind they are they make you feel like they care, that your whole life is unraveling before your eyes and they just happen to me on the other end of the phone line having to listen to you have a melt down. Good with any Breakdown issue...UNLESS ITS PLUMBING.. American Home Shield Purchases its OWN Hot Water Heaters that Must be Used if your Hot Water Heater Breaks down and you must Wait until the Vendor receives it to Proceed Even if it means 3 weeks without Hot Water....Uses Sub -Par Plumbing Vendors and their findings can not be Challenged Even Though Their Wrong OR if you Refuse to Pay an Exorbitant amount of Money to Quote Bring it to Code.. HOW can you Bring It To Code without a City Or County Inspection. What A Sham. The Guy didnt even Inspect the Water Diverter Valve and said that its out of Warranty because he Thinks a Brass Valve has issues because the hous has Galvanized Pipes....Never even Turned the Valve.. I wound up purchasing and Installing my Own Diverter valve and Guess What My Shower Now Works.... AMERICAN HOME SHIELD has no one Checkng its Vendors And They are Ruthless.. Dont want to Pay the Exorbitant Fees Then Go Cash in Lieu.... Wait for it Cash in Lieu only pays for the Labor to do the Job Not the Hot Water Heater Thats Right You dont get the Hot Water Heater that thy Own and setting in Their Warehouse somewhere. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY..Ever since they were Bought out by a larger Company a couple years ago they were a Class Act. I was a Loyal Customer for 7 Years. Do NOT waste your $$$$ the Headache and Drama is Not Worth the Price of Admission

Their policy on getting second opinions is bullshit. I paid my fee of 125$ and their plumber couldn’t fix the issue. I had another plumber come in and do the same work and it’s fixed. But it cost me another 205$ and they refuse to refund any of it. Why pay for their “warranty” if their contracted people can’t fix the issue and then they don’t help you fix the issue?!

The rating would be 5 stars if it hadn’t taking a full month to get my Washer Repaired. The Washer Maintenance personnel was great with the diagnosis and repair but the time between getting the technician out and ordering the parts and repair was entirely too long. It needs to a faster response and repair time because I was without a washer from 12/7/2024 until 1/2/2025

The biggest problem is the quality of the service technicians they use where a lot of them are terrible and they continue to use them in spit of numerous complaints about the quality of their work and instructions to not assign a particular contractor to any request for service and it happens anyway. On the positive side, they have replaced many appliances and other home systems like our hot water heater(more than once) and pool heater, and other items that come with an old house that can pay for the cost of having the home warranty.

I'm not happy with the service provided by J&L Plumbing & Air Although I paid $150 for a wayerheater drain pan and drain pipe, they didn't install a drain pipe. If there is a leak when I'm not home it will go into my shed. When I asked the pro who provided the service said I can but a piece of hose etc. ? And the wayerheater J&L Plumbing is a base model of a cheap brand.

We love the service, someone is assigned to our requests quickly. We've had very good service for most of our appliances. The only problem was pool repair, we had a leak in our pool heater, the contract stated it would cover it but they wouldn't after several attempts and reviewing the contract with them. The support person (a manager) could only say they were told it wouldn't be supported, could not explain why that was opposite of what the contract clearly stated. I could have sued them over this.
