Our relationship started off pretty rocky in the beginning. But I decided to keep the plan because the staff was so nice and considerate and understanding. My washing machine went out recently and I filed a claim. It was approved quickly. My washer was delivered fast but there was a defect in the system. That washer was picked up and replaced with another new washer that works great! I'm going to stick with them for a while longer.

American home shield did a great job of calling me after I closed on my home and educated me and walked me through downloading and setting up my application and login information so it was extremely easy to make a request when I did have an issue come up in the home And it was super easy to have the repair scheduled and they had a complete completed within a few days once the vendor contacted me

I am very pleased with everything about American Home Shield. I changed over to them about 3 years ago because I was unhappy with my former company that I had had since I bought my house in 1993. AHS makes everything easy and every Pro they have sent I have been extremely happy with. I have had to call them about my washer, my dryer and just recently, the drain in my bathroom sink was clogged at a point that my boyfriend was not able to get to it. My boyfriend was there when the Pro came, and he was 100% happy with the Pro they sent. Each time, the Pro was able to find and get the problem resolved in about an hour or less. I will definitely recommend American Home Shield!!

We had an air-conditioning problem and the company called very very quickly to set an appointment with us. On the day of the appointment, they arrived on time, quickly assess the problem and ordered the part. The part came much quicker than I expected it to, the company called us, and came out and replaced it very quickly. The service man did an excellent job.

We started with them when we bought our house in 2019. They were very good for the first four years. While the annual fee is not insubstantial, the coverage of appliances and systems was good. They gave good reminders for tune-ups of systems to avoid major issues. We liked them very much. But our house was recently part of the fires in Southern California and the AC system was damaged. They refused coverage after the tech they provided (whose company wanted over $1000 for the job) said that a wire was cut due to rodent issues rather than due to the fire and remediation. That decision seemed to be wholly about money, and the customer service person had no recommendations other than me paying for a second tech to visit and give a second opinion. No understanding of the fire; no consideration that the tech may have been increasing the price and offering to pay for a second opinion; just reliance on their contractor and a contract term to deny coverage. It soured me on the relationship and I don't think we'll be using them in the future or extending them for this home.

I am so disappointed with the HVAC service technicians that have visited my home. It's just one nightmare after another, no fault of AHS I guess, but it is crazy that since I started using the HVAC warranty service provided by AHS I have been having so many minor issues with my HVAC unit! This is crazy...either the staff with the HVAC companies are setting me up to spend more money or they just don't have a clue as to what they are doing....in all my years, I have not had so many issues with my HVAC unit. And that said, I am disappointed with the HVAC service; all other service requests I guess were okay.

I had a service call for my AC unit. They send out starlight hvac to fix it. The tech came over an supposibly did and also said that I was low on coolant so I end up paying close to 300.00 cause American Home Shield only pays 10.00 per pound. So when the tech left about 30 to 45 min the AC stopped working again with the same issue. The fan on the condenser frozen so I call starlight back and the same tech came over, looked from the top of the condenser to get a model number of the motor and told me that they needed to order a new motor. About 3 to 5 days later the same tech came over to install it, once he was done I noticed that he had left a total of 5 cables connected by zip ties on top of the condenser ( outside). When I approached him and mentioned this he said that the motor was out of factory and that the cables were too sort to connect inside and that they were no danger. Yet this are electrical cables 2 yellow and 2 purple and at the end they are wrapped up on black electrical tape. The other cable is the ground cable but he still insisted that they were no danger. I called American Home Shield and formed this to them. They said they were gonna do an investigation and get back to me. They never did so. I called him back and I spoke to a supervisor. The supervisor said that the company said that cables were fine. Earlier when I reported this, they got a hold of the company and they refused to come back so when I spoke to the supervisor, the supervisor said that the only thing that they can do have the same company come back and try to address the issue so when I request it for a different company because these guys never wanted to come back, the supervisor told me that I needed to pay another service fee to have another company, and inspected so American Home Shield was not willing to help me correct this the right way so they end up sending the same company Starlight Hvac to look at it and all they did was put the two yellow the two purple inside the unit zip tie in the same place and let the grounding cable all out of the unit

During most of my recent repairs, I now realize you must call for a service visit and wait until the company calls you to set up an appointment which is usually another 2 to 3 days. A technician comes out, addresses the problem and then says they have to go back and get it approved and that’s another day and then the company calls you back to make an appointment which is usually another 3 to 4 days. The process is much too long. The technician should have the authority to get approval on the spot. The last technician that was at my house, said he did have the part in his truck to fix my air conditioner, but could not do it until he went back and filed paperwork and got approval through home shield to come back out to fix it which was about five days later. That was two half days off work for me. I probably will not sign up with home shield again. This is twice this has happened once with the refrigerator. I went almost 6 days with no refrigerator. The second time it was the air conditioner pretty important things.

I’m giving them a five star because my first experience as far as the company is concerned was good with the service for Plumbing. I needed to speak to someone when I called in because I didn’t understand the process and once I spoke to a live person they explained it and Then a plumber was assigned and then the job was done within 36 hours.

The service I received was so professional and very reasonable. AHS is great at matching contractors to my needs. The contractors for this recent job were CNG. They repaired a leak under my slab and did an amazing job! They did the job in 2 days and cleaned up after themselves. They did the least amount of damage possible so that when they were done, they could restore my space like they found it. They were courteous, on time, and diligent about the work they did. I'd recommend to anyone for any plumbing needs.

I couldn't be happier. My fridge died, they came out quickly and determined it couldn't be repaired. Within 48 hours they had approved a payout since they didn't have a comparable replacement in inventory. The payout hit my account with 48 hours. Thank you! Previously I had a contract with Choice Home Warranty and it was a nightmare. They only payout wholesale cost with a Lowe's gift card and it took 30 days to receive the gift card. Horrible service.

I've had AHS for more than 20 years on 4 different homes. Over The years I've had 4 heat pumps replaced 2 dishwashers, 3 hot water heaters repair to two fridges and 2 washers. People think that home warranties aren't really needed, but when you're looking at replacing a six or seven thousand dollar heat pump.Sometimes this money you just don't have. This is an essential policy fir any home owner Highly recommend will always have one

My very first experience with AHS was better then I anticipated. My central AC unit stopped working, I called AHS and requested service. The process was easy and very good communication with AHS and repair company. They found that it was the thermostat that failed and needed replacing. This is where I thought the problems were going to start, I had a very expensive digital thermostat from Lennox and I figured they were going to give some cheap replacement but to my surprise they replaced it with an equivalent model since mine was no longer available and all I paid was the agreed service fee. Excellent outcome, glad I made the leap of faith and protected my home with AHS

I love the way they send me local business owners, small business owners, women business owners. They are all about community and for a thriving cared for population, from my seat I see no agendas for prejudice in this company. They have honored all my requests and bitchy at times demands and I apolergize, no offense was meant, I was a struggling house wife who had a drama and her appliance broke just before guests arrived lol. I loved the ease of this plan, however, the rates went up so high on my yearly renewal that had to call to cancel my policy. I am newly retired and just cannot afford such a large increase. When I called I could NOT just cancel my policy without the hassle of negotiating over and over only to be transferred to someone else that started negotiating AGAIN. Ok I have to admit that the negotiation ended up cheaper than what I was already paying, so of course I accepted. Lo and behold the first payment was not the negotiated price but the original! I was so angry After MANY times verifying my information to several people. I finally got a very nice guy who instantly canceled my policy and requested a refund for me . So now I am without any coverage and I don’t like it

Both AHS representatives and service technicians they've chosen have been responsive, pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. Please bear with me. Experience with other home warranty companies: In the past I've purchased home warranties, FROM OTHER COMPANIES (not yelling, no other available way to emphasize), on houses I purchased and wasn't impressed. The companies weren't very responsive and the service providers they used were subpar. At one house I had an old galvanize pipe spring a leak requiring the water be shut off. They sent a bozo out who determined the need to replace the pipe (I'd told them this when I made the service request). He left saying he'd be back the next day to make the repair. He never returned or answered any of my calls. That warranty company, without concern, said oh he probably showed up to collect the upfront fee you paid. Without urgency they sent someone else out, days later, who replaced the leaking pipe but he wasn't very professional, his work looked sloppy and he left a mess. The repair took about 30 minutes but we were without water for over a week. At another house, the piston rings on the AC compressor wore out. It worked as long at the outside temperature didn't exceed 75 degrees. Above that, it didn't cool. That warranty company sent out an idiot who diagnosed this problem but claimed since the compressor was running, it wasn't covered under warranty. It didn't matter that on hot days it would get over 90 degrees inside and the unit ran 24/7. He then offered to replace the outside AC unit for an outrageous amount of money. It took almost two weeks of less than pleasant conversations with that warranty company to get them to come to the table and they still contributed only a fraction of what the repair cost. I hope my good experiences with AHS are typical for all it's customers.

The second vendor who was sent to repair the refrigerator was THE BEST! Called in advance and followed up wih a text; arrived on time, professional and assessed the issue. Said he would be back the very next day with the compessor and will have it installed the same day. True to word, he arrived and within two hours the refrigerator was cooling. The best I have experienced.......I will definitely recommend this company to friends who need repairs. AHS and specifically Tracey B went over and beyond to find another vendor who could be more timely with the repairs/replacement. (The first vendor who showed up as well as the nexts steps to get a repair done was at least a month). I have had nothing but positive experiences with AHS. I recently requested service on my washer and they sent out 2 different contractor companies who were not able to fix the issue. These contractors told AHS the fix was something not covered by my warranty and therefore they would not work on the issue. I reached out to AHS with photos and an explanation of how I didn't feel the contractors knew the real issue. AHS believed me and sent out a 3rd contract who was finally able to fix the issue and my washer works like new now. I appreciate AHS taking the time to listen to me (their customer) over the contractors and doing everything required to have my washer fixed. I will continue to use and recommend AHS.

They assigned a business to come out and take care of my appliance needs right away. One appliance still wasn’t working right, so I’ve had multiple people come out. And some parts were ordered by the appliance company, so I’m still under contract, until it’s fixed or maybe replaced. Guess I’ll just have to wait and see. But I know if the contractor says it can’t be fix. This company will replace the item. Just I’ll find out soon after the new parts are put in because, it’s been almost a month without a fridge. And I’ve thrown out a lot of food. Cross my fingers this will be resolved soon.

My clothes dryer suddenly stopped working. I have subscribed to American Home Shield for over a year so I called and reported my dryer problem. Right after my dryer stopped a pillowcase got caught in my washing machine. I couldn’t remove it. I called AGS back and my washer was added to my claim. Within two days I was called by BA DISTRIBUTING LLC a local repair company and had an appointment. A very nice professional repairman came and fixed both my dryer and my washer. After fixing both units the technician completed a thorough check of both machines. He said the voltage and readings are normal. I couldn’t be happier with his service. I’m back to having clean dry clothes… I couldn’t be happier. 😍

I had AHS for 10 to 15 years. Their service was always great. Several years ago I switched to another home warranty company in order to save a few dollars. It took about six months to find out what a huge mistake that was. After virtually no service from the new company I couldn’t wait to get back to AHS. I was welcomed back with open arms. I just recently had my first service call since coming back. It was handled in the same efficient way they handled things in the past. I will be an AHS customer for life. As all three of my sons have married and are buying their own homes I’ve encouraged them to b come an AHS customer.

Super Transparent, up-front pricing and the coverage options are quality. Thankfully I've only ever had to to contact them a couple of times, but each time I have AHS has been extremely responsive. The portal is very user friendly and easy to navigate, and it seems like they've done a good job of vetting the service providers they work with because I've been equally impressed with the work as well (Phoenix, AZ). For example, we could very easily have spent upwards of $1k servicing and tuning up our A/C unit since moving into the house a few years ago; having AHS has meant we paid a fraction of that cost, and we've always had reliable, speedy and comprehensive service without needing to shop around for it

Ease of setting up a request for repair. But one down side I have experienced in the past which I already informed AHS about needs AHS' attention. One suggestion I have is that they should allow customers to recommend the service provider to use especially on more urgent cases. Any suggestions is highly appreciated. Like when I had a repair needed on my home aircon. They want me to wait for 3-5 days before the technician becomes available. That time it's like 105F in Texas, you think my family can wait that long? Can your family if it ever happened to you, can wait that long? Think about it please. When in fact I gave them an option, and recommended one Aircon repair company, they just need to make a swift accreditation or exception and they can use them asap. I wont hold AHS responsible to any mishaps. Sadly they said no. So even if I have AHS as home warranty at this Very Important instance it is simply Useless, so I had to just avail of the other company's services out of pocket, A very disappointing experience indeed! This type of urgency AHS should have been more humane enough to make some executive decisions/exceptions. God bless you all!

We have had American Home Shield (AMS) for over 6 years and have found them to be responsive and equipped with the resources to cover our household's major appliances at every turn. In full disclosure, at first, I thought it was cumbersome to get issues resolved, but as an engineer, I could see how AMS retooled several front-end processes and we have never had a hitch in getting a technician to accurately assess any potential problems and respond rapidly to them resolved. From our Central AC compressor and associated electrical components to the coverage of our washer and dryer, and home well pump system. AMS has provided high-quality experts along with prompt and courteous customer service. We plan on retaining AMS and have recommended them to several of our family members.

I have been with AHS for years and I am very satisfied with the service they provide. at time AHS will try get out of paying for replacement of a cover item, if your repairman recommend replacement mostly AC units. However, I still like AHS and I think they are the BEST HOME WARRANTY COMPANY. as a matter of fact, AHS just replaced my water heat. I will continue with AHS and I strongly recommend AHS, if you are looking for the BEST HOME WARRANTY COMPANY. I recommend ShieldPlatinum plan cost a little more, but cover a lot. I identified AHS as the BEST HOME WARRANTY COMPANY, I hope they don't prove me wrong in the future with bad service. At this time AHS earned this 5 stars rating and I can only hope they continue to earn 5 stars rating from me in the future with outstanding service and honoring they words "If we can fix it, we will replace it".

I’ve had a few different home warranty companies over the last 20 years. We had AHS for many years and then for some reason we went with another company when we moved to Texas. It was a huge mistake. When that contract ended, we went back to AHS and couldn’t be more pleased. The house we purchased was built in the 90’s and when we moved in, we anticipated some issues. We’ve had A/C units break down, fridge, garage door opener, pool pump, and much more. All of these were repaired with no issues and only paying our $100 deductible each time. Looking at what we’ve spent annually and what’s been repaired, it was one of the smarter decisions we’ve made. We selected the premium plan (whatever it’s called) and I don’t think I’ll change again from AHS. I’m not a paid spokesman, just a Harry Homeowner who’s had a good experience.

Fast, reliable service. That gives me peace of mind. So far, I've used AHS twice on two rental properties. One needed a new garbage disposal - plumber came the very next day cleared the drain and ordered a new garbage disposal, which was all completed in 5 days. The other service was a dishwasher - the technician was there the next day and finished on the same day. . That is EXCELLENT service! If you only knew the hell I went through with the other two companies that I tried . It's only a couple minutes wait time to reach a representative, not an hour - they don't mix up your appliances, AHS understands you and gets it right the first time and sends contractors that actually show up. The most important is that the job is done either in a day or a week, tops, rather than 3 months (which was my experience with the last two home warranty companies). If you have Tenants, they will be mad if they have to wait a long time and who can blame them. AHS gets the job done fast. If you want peace of mind, AHS is the company to get. I highly recommend it.
