I purchased HS this year my washer of 5 yrs went out ( stop spinning) I filed a claim ( very easy and quickly) a tech was scheduled to out before the end of the week. He was prompt and great communication in regards of his arrival . He quickly assessed my machine. HS authorized a new machine I had many options of a replacement to choose from from. Because it was older my I I had a few hundred dollars credit towards a brand new machine my options were from $100 '$5000. I Chose a $100 one and I Love it.. it's much bigger faster and it holds more close .so I paid a total including the deductible $200 for a newer better machine. I originally paid apx $7- $800 00 for it

American Home Shield (AHS) has been a godsend for me! Before AHS, I had 3 major appliances go out in the same year multiple times. With the skyrocketing cost of service, I paid thousands out of pocket. I saw the commercial for AHS and decided to give it a try. I am so-o-o-o glad that I made that call. In the last year alone, AHS replaced my $10K heat pump and $1.5K refrigerator. Do the math. That would take me about 2 decades in premiums to pay all that back. If you are debating signing up, DON'T! Get AHS. They have sent out only 4 to 5-star service providers that know what they are doing. When they can't fix, they offer to replace, give you a check for the full retail price, or even give you options to upgrade (and pay the difference) should you choose. The premiums are very reasonable and they cover just about everything. I can't say a single bad thing about these guys. Thank you, AHS! I am an AHS customer for life!

When my a/c crapped out, a service tradesman came within two to three days. He determined that it couldn't be repaired, and the entire unit needed to be replaced. He order the unit, and in just a little more than a month, he came to my home and installed the entire unit. The tradesman and his assdistantwere thorough and professional. I had to hire a handy man to remove the door and door frame to the utility closet in order to remove the inside a/c unit and replace it. It just so happened that a handy man was working on a project at my home, so he removed the access don't and frame to facilitate the ease in replacing the inside a/c unit.

They respond quickly after we post our repair need on their user site. Normally, the service person comes the following day. My biggest gripe is that they won’t replace an appliance with the same quality level. For example, we had to pay extra for a stainless steel dishwasher to replace the existing stainless steel. AHS would only supply the least expensive painted model as the replacement. Also, they only pay $10/lb. for Freon, leaving me to pay $75-$85 per lb. There are a lot of HVAC repairs which require additional payment from the user. I’ve had to pay out of pocket up to $1,000 for some HVAC repairs. There is virtually always extra costs that the customer must incur.

We have had AHS just over 2 years. They have been extremely diligent in resolving our warranty needs which have been more frequent than we certainly anticipated. The last AHS agent to help me get an appointment with a vendor was named Anthony and he was extraordinary in resolving a booking issue over a dryer repair. He is working out of a call center and he made sure that we set agreed times for him to call me back to verify things were handled when there was some unforeseen glitches in their system. And the vendors they use have been extremely prompt & professional. We usually have the repairs done within 5 days.

I was skeptical at first not really knowing what to expect. I thought when it was time to ask for a service to be done, that it would be a long drawn out process, a hassle or I would get the run around. To my surprise when I put in a order for a service to be done. It was very smooth and easy. You just check the box letting them know which item, and the problem, then they send you the information of the person that will be contacting you to provide the service. The company that came out to provide the service, was very professional, fixed the problem and left. My only regret is the fact that it took me so long to purchase a home warranty. The best feeling you can give yourself is a peace of mind and I definitely received it with American Home Shield.

2 requests from AS the same week! #1 was septic alarm going off turned out to be a simple fix..running toilet. Contractor is to return and replace "toilet flapper.' Contractor was professional, on time and respectful. Communicated what he was doing the whole time. #2 was and electrical issue with outdoor under the Eve can lights not working. Again a simple problem easily and quickly resolved. Contractor contacted me to reschedule for an earlier time …which was much appreciated. Again contractor was on time, professional and respectful and communicated the problem resolution the entire time. Thank you times two!

When someone calls for service it takes a long time to go over the standard contact information in addition to the property info. I have multiple properties and somehow with the upgrades my property info is changed and I cannot correct the information myself. I have 4 properties in the same condo complex with same address but different units. I had the unit number in the description. Somehow the description changed on the online portal. Cannot get the customer service people understand and somehow change the property info to include unit number. When I am on line I cannot differentiate without opening the contract details. Please have someone correct the property information to include unit/apartment number

The website makes it so easy to report a claim and get let me know which company has been assigned to come out. I wish there was a way to type comments but perhaps it is better to call and speak with a live person (which is a great option) if needed.The only other 2 things are 1) If there was option to pay more for a plan that allowed us to make an upgrade if/when needed (or pay the difference in price between comparable and desired upgrade) that would be amazing! and 2) Anyone considering a home warranty should know repairs may take significantly longer than if you were paying company directly, as often the parts have to come from a source the warranty company works with.

AHS was on the job quickly. My air conditioner had stopped running. The temperature in my home was 88 degrees. My poor dog was panting and restless. I was hot, and miserable in spite of the fans. I contacted AHS via email. Entered my info and the problem I was having. AHS response was quick, informing me that a technician will be contacting me shortly. I just knew that shortly meant weeks from now since this was the time of the season when people are getting their air conditioners maintenanced. I was wrong and surprised, I was contacted by the technician the same day and an appointment was made for the next day. A technician came out the next day, saw the problem and solved it in less than ten minutes. I am very happy that I have AHS and really appreciate how efficient they are. Hats off to AHS!

One situation and the response was quickly, the professional person they sent was exactly what I was looking for. He address and corrected my problem. The first time I called was an issue of removing one old washer and connecting a new one. That was in January and I wish I would have gotten the same person to schedule, but he said they could not schedule it. There was no explanation for it except no. As a result I had to hire a dishonest plumber who cheated me on price and stated he did more than he did. I disputed his work with the credit card company, he lost and now is threatening me that he is turning me over to collections when he paid half of his cheating request. I only would like to know why I got a refusal from American Shield, and I am not through with the other man’s threats. This could have ended differently.

Because they are very Best at what they do most of the time, sometimes the contractors they send to us need to be really checked out. We were tricked by once into making a purchase ourselves for over $5200 When we should have just said no, we will let AHS do the purchasing, but the contractors were fast talker and offered us a deal that only caused us heartaches, headaches etc. into buying a new Air condition/heater, our old one could not be repaired it was well over 12 years old. We spent $5200 that we should not have paid for. So we have to let AHS to investigate the contractors they send to us. Some of the vendors are out to rob the system. AHS is really a great company - Been with them over 20 years..

They were very quick to respond to the issue(s) we had. The first contractor they sent out just was not up to the task and could not finish the needed work. After I contacted them anout this they profusely appologized and immediately sent out a second contractor who fixed the problem in a fraction of the time the first contractor took on his failed attempt. I am sure that the first contractor will never be called on again by AHS, and that is just as it should be. I do not fault AHS for the failure on the first attempt. They worked with us 100% and we are more than satisfied with the result.

Still working out some kinks closing out our contract  (as it is a process). We got this home warranty because a friend recommended it she has had a great experience with them.We encountered various problems and for several months it was a very distressing, frustrating situation;  finally we got in contact with an excellent  E-Service Supervisor, Tara has been very  empathetic and an employee with a high degree of professionalism.  Tara did apologize for the miscommunication and  explained that the home warranty will not always fit all consumer needs, it didn't work for us, however we have heard great reviews. I have been with American Home Shield for about 7 years. They completely had my washing machine rebuild, new tub new everything, six months later the door latch and could not be replaced. So they bought me a brand new washer! A couple of years ago late at night my H Vac system tarted to put out propane fumes on a very cold night. I was able to get someone one the phone, she as me to hold and a few minutes later she came back on line to say the only person she could get out was about 2 hours away but that he was on the way. The system could not be repaired so they called me to say my new system was being shipped that day and would arrive within 4 days! Even the person that had originally came out was shocked at that awesome service. America Home Shield has also replaced my double oven and my microwave! You can put a work order in lat at night on line and the next morning a service company is calling to set up a convenient time to come to my home!

Quick Response. This is my second full year. Prior when I bought my first house part of the deal was them providing a decent home warranty company. Despite two inspections 30 days after I moved in the HVAC unit died on a snowstorm. I tried to go through my home warranty and not only was I not able to speak to anybody they made it very clear with their automated response via online, that I would be Serviced in the next 1 to 2 weeks. At the time I had a child under the age of one and a parent over the age of 60 staying with me with no heat. I ended up having to go outside them and find a company that was willing to come out to service my unit. When I found out that the unit needed to be replaced I try to contact the home warranty company again finally received a live person. Explained what happened and gave them the reference receipts of me trying to get a hold of them. They were adamant that they would take care of it but I would have to wait almost 2 weeks for somebody to come out and re-investigate the results that there’s a reputable HVAC company had already given. It was then I decided that I would not use them ever again considering it was no exceptions there was no emergency response other than the answers that I received. Thank God I have not really been in such a similar situation since, but anytime that I have had to use My home warranty with American Home Shield, the online responsiveness is amazing. There’s no need for multiple questions for clarity because it’s given right up front. I get email confirmations and text confirmations from them and immediately from whoever they dispatched my ticket to. I don’t think I waited more than 30 minutes before they called to schedule an appointment to come out. And when I came out they were prompt professional and was able to resolve the issues or in some cases educate me being a new homeowner so I would not make the same mistake again. It’s worth every penny.

I would rate AHS five Stars for many reasons. First, was the quality of the vendors who responded to our need to repair/replace or 15 year old refrigerator. Prompt, professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The first technician saw the need for two parts which he ordered. Our rep from AHS, Megan, assured me that she would follow-up on that order and expedite it as quickly as possible. After those parts were installed, the real problem emerged; a defective "motherboard." The technician quickly checked its availability and found that it was no longer available. Once again, Megan stepped in and contacted the replacement department at AHS so that we could be reimbursed for a replacement refrigerator of a similar nature. Megan was amazing. She often checked back with me to see how things were going and even offered to pay for a small refrigerator until ours was repaired or replaced. Her kind, professional demeanor was much appreciated. Customer service like that, especially today, is often a rare commodity. I strongly recommend this company for all home warranty issues. Thank you, AHS. While it was unfortunate to be without a fridge for a few days, I feel like we gained a few new friends along the way not to mention a beautiful new refrigerator!

At first, I was beginning to think that I had made a mistake paying for this home warranty every month. I was having an air conditioning problem during an unusually record breaking heat wave in Tucson Arizona. The first company that was sent to me was no help. I then called American Home multiple times to get my system fixed after I went through multiple days with temperatures at 89 degrees which is unbearable to live in and sleep in. I kept getting a different agent each time I called including one that I could hear a rooster crowing in the background. I really wondered what type of company this was until Wendy from Iowa answered! She personally took my problem as her very own. She became my 1 point of contact. She quickly called and coordinated between another reputable air conditioning company and a wonderful electrician. She called me multiple times to follow up on my problem. She had empathy and great understanding for what I was going through especially being quarantined in a house that felt like a sauna. She is my hero! And I hope that she will be recognized for her attention to detail, and bringing the personal touch back in between the customer and the company. Bill Richard's was the electrician that came out expediently and even came back out a second time all on his own to try and fix the problem. He was amazing! Lastly, Smart Choice heating and cooling was very professional! The technician was on time and came first thing in the morning. But none of this would have happened without Wendy orchestrating all of it! If I could, I would give them all a reward and a hug!! From a 22 year Veteran United States Airforce.

American Home Shield has been a wonderful company to work with. I have several properties and use their services several times a year. It is easy to make appointments and the services are performed in a timely fashion not like other similar programs offered by other companies. AHS coverage is far more extensive that other plans I have used and other plans I have evaluated. It is easy to reach a person if you have questions. Their online interface is also easy to use and one of the easiest to understand. I think AHS policies are the best plans on the market and I would strongly recommend them.

We started with them when we bought our house in 2019. They were very good for the first four years. While the annual fee is not insubstantial, the coverage of appliances and systems was good. They gave good reminders for tune-ups of systems to avoid major issues. We liked them very much. But our house was recently part of the fires in Southern California and the AC system was damaged. They refused coverage after the tech they provided (whose company wanted over $1000 for the job) said that a wire was cut due to rodent issues rather than due to the fire and remediation. That decision seemed to be wholly about money, and the customer service person had no recommendations other than me paying for a second tech to visit and give a second opinion. No understanding of the fire; no consideration that the tech may have been increasing the price and offering to pay for a second opinion; just reliance on their contractor and a contract term to deny coverage. It soured me on the relationship and I don't think we'll be using them in the future or extending them for this home.

I have been with American Home Shields for 9 years. However, I am seeing where some of the people that is being sent out say that there are alot services that can't be provided. I believe it is due to customer fault however you are forgetting that homes do age.

I’m giving them a five star because my first experience as far as the company is concerned was good with the service for Plumbing. I needed to speak to someone when I called in because I didn’t understand the process and once I spoke to a live person they explained it and Then a plumber was assigned and then the job was done within 36 hours.

The service I received was so professional and very reasonable. AHS is great at matching contractors to my needs. The contractors for this recent job were CNG. They repaired a leak under my slab and did an amazing job! They did the job in 2 days and cleaned up after themselves. They did the least amount of damage possible so that when they were done, they could restore my space like they found it. They were courteous, on time, and diligent about the work they did. I'd recommend to anyone for any plumbing needs.

I couldn't be happier. My fridge died, they came out quickly and determined it couldn't be repaired. Within 48 hours they had approved a payout since they didn't have a comparable replacement in inventory. The payout hit my account with 48 hours. Thank you! Previously I had a contract with Choice Home Warranty and it was a nightmare. They only payout wholesale cost with a Lowe's gift card and it took 30 days to receive the gift card. Horrible service.

The best experience ever of getting exactly what you are paying for, 1st of all we are talking about being in the dead of wintertime with freezing cold temperatures outside, i play my online claim which with an hour AHS had contacted a supplier to repair my heating system, and they reached in within another hour to say they were coming the very next day and within 24 hours it was repaired,

I've had AHS for more than 20 years on 4 different homes. Over The years I've had 4 heat pumps replaced 2 dishwashers, 3 hot water heaters repair to two fridges and 2 washers. People think that home warranties aren't really needed, but when you're looking at replacing a six or seven thousand dollar heat pump.Sometimes this money you just don't have. This is an essential policy fir any home owner Highly recommend will always have one

I was very happy with the entire transaction. American Home Shield contacted the company to look at my central heating unit and they came out the next day and found out that it was my blower. He had to wait until the next day to get a part to replace with the newer blower, but arrived on time and had it repaired with no problem. The technician was friendly and professional and really did a good job.

very easy application to schedule repairs. Great tech's doing the service. Has been a great help to me this year. I had two plumbing issues both handled quickly. Just had issue with my free-standing range. Has to be replaced. I really like how the replacement options were presented. I have a new range hopefully coming 2/02/2025. No cost to me. So thankful for the warranty program this year.

I had an electrical problem. The process was quick and problem resolved in less than one hour. AHS processed the claim. Contractor called me the same day. We set appt. up for two days later. Problem in circuit was a easily solved and my Christmas lights were on again that evening. I was with another company previous to AHS. Took days to get anyone to return my call. AHS, BIG IMPROVEMENTS. I highly recommend AHS.

Customer service is outstanding :) We live rural, so trying to find a contractor to come to us is hard. With AHS we don't have to find our own contractor, we submit the claim, pay the deductible, and they take care of the rest :) The last Home Warranty we had, I had to find the contractor, pay the bill up front, and then wait to be reimbursed. I spent the better part of two days making phone calls, sending emails, waiting for contractors to get back to me, all while my sewer was backed up.

Sometimes they don't fix the problem while they are there and even though they know you will be calling back with the same issue they take your money and leave. Example: Microwave door when shut it runs fan but not heat even when the buttons are on "off." The repair main kept closing the door until it finally didn't run. then he opened and closed and it ran again in "off" position and he kept slamming it until it didn't run and said "ok you are good." But then I opened and closed door and it ran again and he said just keep slamming it a few times. that is not fixed to me and they charged me $100 to tell me something I already knew. You also have to be willing upfront to know that it can take up to five days to get a repair assessment and then more time to order parts etc. Knowing this ahead of time allows me to set the expectation that can be met not something that will frustrate me when not met.

We've had AHS for over 25 years and have never received anything other than absolutely stellar service, both from AHS and from its contract providers. I recommend it to everyone. Over this long period of time, AHS has repaired or replaced everything from the HVAC to the kitchen sink garbage disposal to the garage door opener. We rest easy knowing that we're not going to be hit with a huge bill to replace a major appliance. AHS is the best!

Adam came about our garage door opener not working. He checked it all out and found that it needed to be replaced. Adam was very efficient and has a great demeanor. I would highly recommend him. Ben came because our refrigerator was not working. He found that the compressor needed to be replaced. I appreciated his demeanor too. I would highly recommend him too!

I left AHS to try out another company. AHS has always treated me well. Didn't leave them because of bad service, just was trying out a new company. I came back to AHS because I haven't experienced the level of excellent service with any other company. Great company! I never have to do all the footwork like I did with this other company. Great communication, expediency and responsiveness regarding a service call and appliance replacement. Each service person was polite and knowledgeable throughout my experience. Although I have had a policy with AHS for almost 2 years, this was my first contact and request for a covered service. It is nice to have a home warranty program to manage those unanticipated repair bills. That said AHS is really just a broker of hundreds if not thousands of local repair specialists and what typically happens is AHS reaches out to their network of repair specialists who you then have to wait for their respective appointment scheduling process just to get a troubleshooting appointment scheduled. That can be 2 to weeks out. Then once the technician arrives and completes the troubleshooting then he/she/they have to submit a report to AHS when then determines whether or not the problem is covered if yes then AHS must approve of any parts required. So all told it can take several weeks to get a covered repair completed. If you have a larger appliance like a hot water heater, oven, stove or other code regulated appliance ( i.e. , one that requires a government issued permit and inspection) you could be facing some big out of pocket expenses for the permitting and inspection and any upgrades required to meet new/update code requirements if you don’t have the top of the line warranty plan (Platinum Shield). The other thing to be aware of is there appears to be a shortage of qualified certain types of appliance repair techs across the country and OEMs give priority response to customers who purchased extended warranties vs AHS customers.

Overall AHS had been a great help to us in our time of need. There are some things that could probably be improved. For example we called regarding our A/C being out. The company AHS use to care for their service calls was closed. (It was after hours) It’s the middle of the summer here in Texas. We would have had to wait until the next day to even be scheduled. We ended up using a company that would come out that evening but had to paid full price. :-(

I am happy with my home shield policy, but I was very unhappy with the last service from A1 Plumbing. The workers did not seem to understand my problem. The spent about 5 minutes turning the disposal on and off but did not address the fact I felt there was a clog in the pipe because the water drained slow. They then said there was no problem and left. The problem has not presented itself again, but I felt they dismissed it too quickly.

We have had AHS for more than 30 years, for 5 different homes and I have yet to have a situation that they did not resolve by repair or replacement. We have had repairs and replacements for plumbing , electric, air conditioners, furnaces, stove, garage door opener, pool pump, sump pump, water heater, garbage disposal, and microwave oven. We have had an outstanding relationship with AHS since 1994 and I plan to continue that relationship until I an no longer a home owner.

My recent service with AHS was a great experience. I was able to schedule my service online in minutes. The service provider they sent was from GE (General Electric) and was topnotch! He repaired my refrigerator ice machine and even made another repair we weren't even aware was needed. I've been with AHS for 5 years, and my only complaint is they have steadily been raising my rates every year. My rate has almost doubled since the first year, but I've also had a lot of items repaired, so overall, it has been worth the money so far.

So far American home shield has performed well on all the small issues over the years. Bigger issues seem to take a long time to get settled , I understand that dealing with contractors and getting estimates is a time consuming ordeal . American home has done well with removing my pool issue , I am waiting for the reimbursement to be sent to me…..also I under This can take some time. My main concern is my second home , I contacted sales to get the same warranty for that property but , after paying the premium for six months I finally requested a copy of the contract and it was not the same contract , I was informed that I could not change contracts till this one has expired . It truly was my own fault for not verifying what contract I was paying for. I have no appliance issues at that property but was surprised that appliances were not covered. Perhaps AHS should look into changing their policy of no upgrades during the contact period. AHS has been very responsive and I have trust in the service they provide. Thanks …….

We got a lifesaver in AHS and are happy with their customer facing team representative's and the online app to request service. The service providers are very professional and are able to fix most of the issues reported. If there are any parts, further authorizations needed it adds to the time it takes to address but the job is completed to satisfaction. Kudos to American Home Shield.
