Have always enjoyed great services offered. AHS is timely in routing your service request to the appropriate service technician in your. The service tech are always professional and no BS. They call & make an appt and they call you with an ETA (ie "15 minutes from you"). I have never had a claim denied in the 24 years I have been an AHS customer. Be VERY aware of home warranty companies. AHS is one of the few that won't blow smoke on you.

When I have a problem (most often plumbing), I have to phone, otherwise you assign me the worst plumbers on the planet. The last time I called I got through very quickly to the best customer representative I've ever encountered at AHS. Here name is Andrea and she was so helpful and everything went smoothly that day. I was assigned the plumber of my choice and they were able to show up within a couple of hours. The planets aligned, thanks to Andrea. Out of habit, I hung up, forgetting to the survey right away. Please put this on Andrea's record that she made my day!!! She is the reason for the 4th star instead of only 3 stars.

AHS has been excellent during my short period with them. They're quick in getting claims started and immediately send you a phone number of who they contracted to take care of your claim so you can call them yourself immediately to find out when they will be coming out. I've had my range repaired, toilet stool repaired, and my hot water heater replaced with a more up to date model. All claims were quickly resolved and each contractor was professional and very friendly!

This was my first experience with AHS. I joined about 1 year ago. My refrigerator went out. I called AHS and they sent an appliance service out. The service determined it needed a new compressor and they could not provide that service. AHS dispatched another company that could either repair or replace/install the compressor. He replaced it in no time and we were up and running again.. Both companies employees receive very professional and knowledgeable.

They have covered many things in the past 25 years, One of the biggest they have just covered for me is total replacement of my heating and air conditioning for my entire home. My gas furnace went out and AHS immediately assigned me a contact to get the work done. The assigned vendor rescheduled my appointment several times, so I contacted AHS and was immediately assigned a new vendor. This new vendor came and said that I needed a new motor assembly. AHS approved the work, the part was ordered and my furnace has been working ever since.

Terrible communications, automated phone system designed to frustrate to the point you give up. Went on line, when I renewed they failed to update and the system kept showing my account expired. Again no phone service to get help until I finally punched in the number to purchase new plan. Suddenly I am connected to sales with an agent anxious to sell. Told my story, she was frustrated and told me I needed customer service. Finally convinced her to connect me. Still I gave 4 stars because once I could file the claim I had a contractor assigned within an hour. He was at my home next day snd resolved the issue within minutes. So it works if you can ever get pass the blockage.

At first it was all hard for me to understand. But as I moved through choices & read all I could I got more familiar with the process. The very first person I talked to though was very knowledgeable & definitely alleviated my stress & misunderstanding. The delivery fellows were wonderful as they quickly installed my washer & ran a quick water test. Very nice in the long run. Hardest thing is waiting & having to go to laundromat.

Our realtor bought it when we purchased our home. When we sold the home and bought another, the realtor purchased a new plan. We used the first plan twice (toilet, washing machine) and the second plan once (toilets). I recently had my water heater break and needed my service request expedited by AHS. The lady put me on hold and was able to get in touch with a plumber immediately. My other phone rang before I could even finish my call with AHS! The plumbing service was awesome as well- One Drop Plumbing. The only downside is that it is sometimes hard to understand the representative due to their heavy accents.

Our clothes washer broke down. We reported it to AHS via the website and were connected to a contractor some 7 days later. The contractor was prompt, courteous, and competent. After reporting his findings to AHS ti was about a week and half before AHS responded via email with an offer to replace the unit. We chose the cash out option and now 2 weeks later are still awaiting the check.

Took 3 visits by electricians who did not find the problem. The 4th electrician was more experienced and he found the problem with the first visit and came back and finished the solution and the house electrical issue. He was an experienced electrician and even called me latera few days later to make sure issue had been handled. This was not an AHS issue, it was an issue of Kingdom Electric sending inexperienced electricians. "Scott" fixed my problem and the whole issue could have been resolved quickly with an experienced electrician.

They were prompt with service. The tech explained everything he needed to do, was very clean during and after the visits. While he did have to order parts, as soon as they arrived, he came back and fixed my fridge and icemaker within a day. He was very quick, and Jessica, the receptionist/manager answered my calls and made sure that the schedule they had worked best for me.

AHS has literally saved us thousands of dollars. Our HVAC unit went out last year, late winter around February. The unit could not be repaired, so they replaced the entire unit at the cost of our deductible. It's easy and convenient to file a claim online & wait for confirmation, that includes an appointment with a local experienced technician. I can't stress enough, the importance of purchasing this additional insurance to give you peace of mind when major appliances fail unexpectedly. We have had to make atleast 3 claims in the last 4yrs and AHS has always come through for us.

Prompt, Professional, High Quality Contractors Assigned! My last experience was for my hot water heater. Called and spoke with a real live person and w/n two days AHS my hot water heater was working like new again. When I 1st called AHS asked if I needed immediate attention but I advised a 2 day turnaround was very acceptable to me. I was very pleased with the contractor!

I have access to reliable service people for a decent fee. It's hard to believe, but it seems this home warranty company is actually doing their job and protecting me. I had an issue with my refrigerator; it stopped cooling. I submitted a service request and someone came out. My fridge was deemed not repairable. 3 days later, I received lowes e-gift cards with the money to purchase a replacement. I also had the option to have AHS replace it with installation, but I went with lowes because they had the replacement I wanted. They didn't give any hassle about paying for the replacement.

Washer would not cycle. I thought it was something easy but I didn't feel like dealing with it so I made an appointment on the website. Repair showed up fast and it turned out to be a bad board that is no longer made so the washer had to be replaced. Turns out I was right it was easy. All I did was choose from the selection of new replacement washers and it was delivered and installed quickly

I have been a customer of American Home shield for 17 years and overall my experiences I've had I can say that they've been good. The contractors they send out are generally very professional and knowledgeable. The fee's and contract prices have increased over the years but I feel there pretty reasonable and comparable to other companies. I've had a few issues over the years but the customer service agents and upper management have help me through things. I would definitely recommend AHS as your home warranty company it's be a life saver for me and my family at times.

When I first called to start the process for my fridge/freezer that quite cooling, the representative told me my Avanti appliance was not covered. He was rude and had very poor English. I was not thrilled. A few days later, I called back again and had a very informative and professional representative. He confirmed my appliance was covered and from that point, I was very pleased with the professionalism and service from AHS. The part finally came in the other day and we now have our appliance in working order.

I switch to American Home Shield because my HVAC needed repair and my previous home warrenty insurance company didn't cover duct work. To me, you aren't providing HVAC services if don't cover duct work. American Home Shield not only provides full HVAC coverage, but they replaced my HVAC's old duct work and my system is running beautifully. In addition, they provide timely service and their contractors were very courteous and professional. I highly recommend AHS.

For the first time AHS warranty failed me. I have a dishwasher that isn't draining. One tech replaced the pump and it drained fine. As soon as he left the drain stopped draining again. I did as he suggested and I removed the strainer. It drained faster than the sink drain could flow. The water filled to the top of the sink drain. Then it stopped again. This time I reached down into the washer drain under the strainer. I found a cherry pit. As the second tech was coming he asked if I knew what the problem was. I said I found a cherry pit. He took my word for that and said the service wouldn't be covered because AHS didn't cover clogged dishwashers. He should have come out to see if i was right. It was my best guess but I'm no service tech. AHS also should have called me to say that a clogged drain isn't covered. I went on his word that AHS doesn't cover this.

I have had my home warranty for almost 2 years and enjoy the peace of mind knowing I won't be hit with a huge expense for an appliance, or home system, repair. I have used it twice for a dishwasher repair and furnace repair. The process to request service was very simple and the repair people were professional and complete the repair in a reasonable amount of time.

I have been very pleased with the two appliance repairs that i received through AHS. In both instances the appliance repair people were top rate and got the appliances working like new. My only criticism of AHS is when i called to put in a claim for the repairs in both instances i had to speak with non-native English speakers that i could not understand. this was especially aggravating that last time because i had to all multiple times and never did get to speak with a AHS representative that i could easily understand. otherwise i am very pleased with AHS . this is the second time we have had to use AHS. First time was for a plumbing issue and it was fixed perfectly. This time was our washing machine. They need to get a part in to fix it but the appliance repair guy was helpful, friendly and told us what it needed and helped me to be able to use it till the part comes in. I just have to use cold water till the part comes in.

Probably no fault of home shield but the service person takes a week to show up to my house and then misdiagnose the issue I was having so when he finished his service I was left with still having a leak to solve. But the service man did tell me that our washing machine was not leaking he pointed out the problem to be the drain. So I routed and serviced the drainage. Next time we used the washer and dryer there was yet still a leak. I ofcourse called home shield again and upon my complaint they refunded the service call and rescheduled another service, days went by and by, and sense we could clearly see it was the dryer that was leaking my wife called the gas company they showed up within an hour he checked the entire house for gas leaks and then fixed the water leak on the dryer. A hose was loose he simply tightened it with a screwdriver and the leak was no more. So the next day when the water was dried up and there was no leak my wife called home shield back again and canceled the service call that we were still waiting for. But story continues because yesterday the bill receipt arrived and shows the one service call refunded and then it shows two more service calls added surely this is something else that I will have to contend with as I sort out the two extra service calls but no one showed up a second, or a third time. Or maybe you could solve this one, I appreciate your response.

I called and they arranged AG Appliance to cone and fix my dryer. it took 6 days before the serviceman could get over bu when he did arrive he was on time, polite and clean cut. He opened the dryer and was able to assess the need. He had the part in his truck. With the new belt the dryer works great. The serviceman cleaned up and left everything tidy and squared away. Very pleased.

I had a refrigerator that was not cold and the food was going bad. They told me they would contact someone to schedule and appointment with 7-10 days. I told them that was crazy as the food was rotting. They got me an appointment for four days later; however, the tech for Prime appliances/Dan just took pictures of the part he thought was needed and AHS would would send them the part within two weeks. Then they would schedule another appointment within the week. The bad part was that he did not do a thorough job/he replaced the ice maker without checking the freezer. Something else was wrong/the whole back panel that has the two fans needed to be replaced. After waiting so long to get this resolved, I then called Prime back and they sent out their lead tech/Kim (great tech) who once again took pictures. At least he removed all the packed ice. It was also not working and needed replacement. That meant I had to go through the whole waiting period again. I was not aware I had been charged an additional $100 for Prime. The way I see it, That second trip should not have been necessary if the first tech had done a thorough job. I jus heard AHS will replace the cost of all my food lost from a friend. Hope that it true. I wanted to say what a great job Kim/3nd tech when he came to complete the job.

Fast response when our furnace went out. It stopped working again after the first service, and American Home Shield got the technician right back out to fix the issue. My only complaint would be that because the first service took place on a Friday, and the furnace stopped working again hours after the technician left, we had to wait over the weekend to get it fixed again.

4 star rating is due to a negative experience had a few months ago with assigning our technician that was posted online as a 1 star when we repeatedly said no. AHS should not be associated with these companies and sending them out to the customers homes. I reported this information to them and asked why and were they aware of the negative and poor ratings which AHS was highlighted in all the reviews. The customer service representative stated this would be reported to management. Not sure if it was but so far I haven't had that company for any assignments. I was also told I had the highest plan when purchased years ago, but had to come kut of pocket 800.00 for a issue was fully covered. Hopefully AHS will work on gaining a 5 star rating soon. Customer service has been good so far since those two incidents, AHS did upgrade on new packages but too early to rate. So far AHS is moving in the right direction.

In short order I had a new compressor in my unit. Efficient and professional with this claim. Also the technician shared with me that his company liked working with American Home Shield. Plumber came out and fixed the issue next day. However we still had an issue a week or so later (the faucet was completely corroded and wouldn't turn) The plumber must have knew it was going to be an issue because the next time he came out he had the faucet and fixed it in less than 2 mins. If they knew the issue the first time they should have just fixed it. But at least the problem was solved. Not sure it was worth the $100 fee... but at least I didn't have to pay twice.

I had to call AHS for a service request upon my first day in my new home. The young man who was sent out was amazing. He found the issue and explained everything thoroughly. He also went a step further and referred me to someone who could extract the water from my carpet for a very affordable price. I truly appreciate the manner in which the request was handled. Old refrigerator in the garage quit working. Repairman determined that a short was causing the refrigerator to trip the ground fault switch. He could not find the short and recommended American Home Shield replace the refrigerator. We received a gift card from Lowes to buy a new refrigerator. I began my experiences with AHS in Southern California in the 1970's and they were phenomenal through the decades I had them. When we bought this house in Texas the AHS program was part of the sale. I was less than impressed and I switched to two different companies. When AHS contacted me to return to them this past winter I was hesitant. Since the other two companies were not what I'd hoped they'd be, I decided to give AHS one last go. This time, months later, we had a major plumbing problem and AHS sent several companies out to check it. I wasn't trusting them and asked to have my own plumber who instantly knew exactly what we needed. AHS did pay their portion of the negotiated repairs. Not the entire amount but enough for me to be satisfied. For now, so long as they remain as responsive as they've been this year, I will happily stay with them. It is reassuring to know that they actually will cover major repairs. Their prices are competitive as well. One company I was with made us pay out of pocket for a relatively late model water heater, then submit the invoice to them. Their rate of reimbursement was a huge disappointment. It is too bad that AHS now has their customer service department outsourced in a faraway foreign country and it does take some extra time getting them to realize what the issues are if the repair is a complicated one. For the normal everyday repairs this works out just fine. We actually did get to speak with a local representative when we decided to stay with them. It is nice to know that they do exist...you just have to be persistent to get to them if your situations warrants it.

I just joined the Home Shield Contract Several Month's ago. And boy was I Lucky I had to use them 2 times already. The first time My AC went out and they had Somebody out the Next day, and He Fixed it in a short period of time a couple hours. And I paid the $100. service call and I did not have to Spend another Dime, and it works Like New. So I am Very Happy with them!

I live in an area with limited business resources, between two major cities with many resources. Trying to find a provider for needed repairs is cumbersome. American Home Shield has access to providers that will service my area, saving me time, and they have covered several needed repairs with only the deductible out of pocket at the time of service. I am very pleased with the coverage.

I called about a problem I'm having with my laptop. Before I added the electronics coverage, I asked if service was provided in house - I was told Yes. When I called I was told that I would receive a box in 5 days to mail my laptop to them, and that I should remove any login pasword, and backup my computer prior to shipping it since their actions could result in loss of some or all of my data. Since my computer won't boot, none of this was possible. I cancelled my claim and called AHW to express my opinion about this service. After 2 hours on the phone, being transferred from person to person, I was told that I could not file a complaint with AMW about the eletronics warrenty/policy since you didn't service electronics. However, I pay YOU for the electronics coverage, and YOU contract for this service to a 2nd party. If one of you customers has an issue with this 2nd party, YOU should be informed about it.

All of our home repair issues have been successfully resolved by American Home Shield. The techs have been knowledgeable and capable and nice. The biggest negative is that service takes longer to be scheduled than if hiring service normally, and our dishwasher replacement took a very long time. However, we think that is to be expected for home warranty service. The main thing is that repairs have been successful. I love the website and the ease with which to put it a service request (no more holding on the phone!) and it seems that they are all the time trying to improve their processes.

Great home warranty company. In fact, the best after doing months of research and being with them now for 4 years. Overall, you won't find a better home warranty company for the services and pricing. Yes, sometimes it takes longer than I would like for service people to be dispatched from their network of companies, but we are spoiled these days with everything given to or delivered to us within a few hours or a day. Yes, they could contract out with more service companies to lessen the time. Hopefully, they will.

My water heater just gave out and I’d installed upstairs in a bedroom closet. AHS sent a technician to replace. Since it was upstairs the technician had to get authorization for out of scope work. That process took 3 days for approval. There was an additional charge due to the placement of the water heater and the was it was installed. The charge in my opinion was reasonable and justified I just wish it didn’t take 3 days for the approval process.

Almost all my interactions have been very good. They were easy to pay and fast to get someone out. Had difficulty with two but were both resolved in the end. I was out of a fridge for over two months which is a little absurd considering it was the first repair company that damaged my fridge beyond repair when it needed an easy fix. Then the amount I was reimbursed was not enough to get one of equal so I had to apply for a Lowe’s credit card to pay the $484 difference. And I got a very off brand, nothing as good as my kenmore, and I’ve already had two problems with the 8 month old fridge. Having a family of six living out of ice chests for that long is unacceptable. Especially during school months for my kids’ meals and snacks. That was the worst out of six. The other five were top notch though. Would still, and do recommend, but suggest the company do some follow up on the maintenance contractors in instances like this that kind of screw the homeowner. I loved my fridge and it was top of the line. Now I had to come out of pocket over $500 and have bottom of the line.

Generally speaking, my experience has been very positive. I have had a number of items replaced under warranty. If not in need of a replacement, the service requests occur promptly. The operators work with me if I have specific contractor request. Opportunity with having enough reps to address items that require phone communication. Off shore employees often struggle with English, presumably why that is a survey question every time I take it.
