Offset by … Very challenging to get to person at AHS that speaks English as first language and can solve problems, e.g., contractor that performed AHS preventative maintenance for ac systems was not initially allowed to perform service that he identified needed attention; AHS agent said they needed to assign to a different contractor.

I liked that when I called the company and after making an appointment for service, a live representative responded! Since I was having a huge problem with my A/C unit, a technician was dispatched almost immediately. I got a real stubborn customer service guy, AHS sent a comp to fix refrid the comp has over 20 complaints to bbb, horrible reviews on line and through Angis list. I wanted AHS to cancel that comp and sent different co the C/S argued said competitors give bad reviews. Had to enlighten him that bbb follows through with complaints. Then he said AHS needs to wait until the comp calls AHS to cancel. He was a jerk. The other C/S lady was very nice and took care of my concerns

I like the ease of putting in a service although I called in and wasn't happy with the customer service at all. The 1st rep completely told me a lie. The 2nd rep was very rude. The 3rd rep was more helpful but I asked for a list of the charges from the 1st company and still I haven't received it. But just an FYI Air Dynesty is a complete ripe off they are grousley over charging your customers even charging for things that shouldn't charge for like freon in a new unit. Because new units are prefilled already. And not to mention they sent a salesman out and sent me a quote outside of AHS.

I have had AHS for over 10 years. I am satisfied with the service that is offered. However your billing dept. I had a problem with about 10 days ago. I was charged for my monthly service twice and I only approved bill pay from my bank once. I tried to resolve this and the customer service representative couldn't help me. I went round & round with her for over 20 min, I finally asked for her supervisor & spoke with her & still did not get this resolved. She said I had approved (I don't recall doing this) to have the charge taken out of my account automatically the first of the month. I went to my bank and asked that the automatic payment be cancelled & I will approve payment monthly for this to be done through my bill pay with my bank,

Service has always been good sometimes may take longer if they have to order a part but overall service has been good. They were unable to fix our washer after several attempts, they had to remove the new parts they had installed and gave us a gift card at Lowe’s for the value of the washer. 439.$ But it took so long for the gift card to come thru that we went to Lowe’s at bought a new washer and dryer and when the gift card finally came thru, we will hang on to it for paper products, cleaning,etc…

I have only one complaint and that is you refused to repay my air conditioner unit because of damage being done by dogs. The damage was done Peter to my purchase by dog that belonged to the seller of the home. I was told that American Home Shield would replace anything that was damaged prior to purchase of the home. I’m extremely unhappy that I was lied to.

the contratorss they use are great and I would use the specific contractor if I needed help with something not covered by AHS My only problem with them is the response time from reporting the problem and the amount of timeit took to get an appliance repair service to come out. The service companies were great. Maybe they should get more service companies for my area

I'm still on the fence about this insurance. The first time I used it not only did I have to pay the $100 service fee but the contractor sent to fix the issue said that AHS would not cover the issue. I had to pay an additional $200.00. Fast forward and the same thing happened again but this time they actually paid for a replacement item. If all goes well then it's 100% worth it. I had 3 things break back to back.

Some of the vendors make repairs & just don't know what they are doing. They make assumptions based on the environment or their opinion. Not thorough at all I had a broke refrigerator instead of checking the entire refrigerator. The technician saw one thing wrong and ordered that part but that wasn't all that was wrong with the refrigerator so when the part got put in and replaced, the refrigerator still was not working so I had to wait another week so they can order a part. It was just irritating. I also had a problem with the bathroom toilet they kept placing it because it was leaking instead of telling me that the floor had been compromised and needed to be redone. I had to figure that out on my own, Which ended up being thousands of dollars because of the severe would damage all the way down to the baseboards in the basement.

You sent a service person to repair my range hood. The man took parts out and said he would have to takes parts back to his office and chech if they were still available. I told him ok and he said he would call me back. Then covid happened for 2 years and I heard nothing. I finally called and was told that my range was delivered and installed. She said I could open a new claim, pay $100.00 again. Within the last month I had service from an electrical company and I asked if they would have been the company that would have installed the hood. They said no but a couple of years ago one was delivered to them, they said nobody had requested that and they said they sent it back. I finally got to speak to someone and they said they would elevate this problem to the appropriate office to try to fix the delicate. He said I would get a call in the next week. No call came. This week I tried again and talked to a woman and she told me the same thing. I am considering dropping my account with you because of poor communication with your company. It was implied that I have received a new range hood per your records. I did not and if you would like to visit to check my kitchen, I will be glad to have you.

I asked the plumber about my guest bathroom toilet that kept running and he said her couldn't look at it. He said he was only allowed to work on my clogged toilet in master bathroom and I would have to call for another visit. I guess that means, I have to pay another $125. for another plumber to come out for my running toilet. I'll just have to live with it or try to fix it myself. I'm not going to pay for another plumber when I already had one in my house who refused to fix my guest bathroom. I forgot to mention the running toilet. So it can't be fixed with the first call. I'm very disappointed. I will call American Home only when I'm desperate.

We had a furnace stop working in the middle of a below freezing night. First thing in the morning, I called American Home Shield requested service. By late morning we had the issue resolved and a running furnace and heat with little out-of-pocket expense to us!

Representatives are completely scripted and often don't really understand the problem or just repeat the script without addressing the issue. They also give assurances that aren't accurate. IF the problem is a standard easy fix, the scripts work. If anything is unusual, they are not. Supervisors are very hard to connect with and are likewise scripted. As you can tell, my experienced have been both good and very bad. There is a failure to keep the customer informed ir updated when they can't find a repairman in your area. It took over two months with no communication on their part for one of my issues that ultimately was an easy fix.

I like only having to pay a co-pay to have items repaired. I don't like having to argue over replacing an appliance that has been repaired too many times and is no longer reliable or safe to use, ie: my microwave oven several years ago. I also have a Subzero refrigerator that has had the same problem for years of icing over on the back interior wall of the refrigerator-but repairmen never fix it for long. I know you will not replace a Subzero.

This past experience was very good. However, a previous experience with our Bosch cooktop left us wondering if we wanted to continue with you. A piece of the ignitor fell into the cabinet and couldn't be found and because the piece was missing, you refused to repair or replace our cooktop. I was shocked and disappointed and had to purchase a new cooktop

Always get resolution in the end and there are no hidden cost. The reasons we wouldn't give 5 stars are: 1. You can't choose your own service people 2. There's a time delay before the service people come to the house to evaluate the problem and 3. The service people don't seem to stock or have quick access to what seem like common replacement parts, so there's another delay while parts are ordered.

I called because my heat was not working. I had another plumber check it out and he said it would cost $10000 to replace the whole system. Then I remembered I had this home warranty so I called. Their plumber came out the next day and fixed the problem in 15 mins. He said I did not need a new system.
