Customer service is outstanding :) We live rural, so trying to find a contractor to come to us is hard. With AHS we don't have to find our own contractor, we submit the claim, pay the deductible, and they take care of the rest :) The last Home Warranty we had, I had to find the contractor, pay the bill up front, and then wait to be reimbursed. I spent the better part of two days making phone calls, sending emails, waiting for contractors to get back to me, all while my sewer was backed up.

Sometimes they don't fix the problem while they are there and even though they know you will be calling back with the same issue they take your money and leave. Example: Microwave door when shut it runs fan but not heat even when the buttons are on "off." The repair main kept closing the door until it finally didn't run. then he opened and closed and it ran again in "off" position and he kept slamming it until it didn't run and said "ok you are good." But then I opened and closed door and it ran again and he said just keep slamming it a few times. that is not fixed to me and they charged me $100 to tell me something I already knew. You also have to be willing upfront to know that it can take up to five days to get a repair assessment and then more time to order parts etc. Knowing this ahead of time allows me to set the expectation that can be met not something that will frustrate me when not met.

We've had AHS for over 25 years and have never received anything other than absolutely stellar service, both from AHS and from its contract providers. I recommend it to everyone. Over this long period of time, AHS has repaired or replaced everything from the HVAC to the kitchen sink garbage disposal to the garage door opener. We rest easy knowing that we're not going to be hit with a huge bill to replace a major appliance. AHS is the best!

Adam came about our garage door opener not working. He checked it all out and found that it needed to be replaced. Adam was very efficient and has a great demeanor. I would highly recommend him. I left AHS to try out another company. AHS has always treated me well. Didn't leave them because of bad service, just was trying out a new company. I came back to AHS because I haven't experienced the level of excellent service with any other company. Great company! I never have to do all the footwork like I did with this other company. It is nice to have a home warranty program to manage those unanticipated repair bills. That said AHS is really just a broker of hundreds if not thousands of local repair specialists and what typically happens is AHS reaches out to their network of repair specialists who you then have to wait for their respective appointment scheduling process just to get a troubleshooting appointment scheduled. That can be 2 to weeks out. Then once the technician arrives and completes the troubleshooting then he/she/they have to submit a report to AHS when then determines whether or not the problem is covered if yes then AHS must approve of any parts required. So all told it can take several weeks to get a covered repair completed. If you have a larger appliance like a hot water heater, oven, stove or other code regulated appliance ( i.e. , one that requires a government issued permit and inspection) you could be facing some big out of pocket expenses for the permitting and inspection and any upgrades required to meet new/update code requirements if you don’t have the top of the line warranty plan (Platinum Shield). The other thing to be aware of is there appears to be a shortage of qualified certain types of appliance repair techs across the country and OEMs give priority response to customers who purchased extended warranties vs AHS customers.

Overall AHS had been a great help to us in our time of need. There are some things that could probably be improved. For example we called regarding our A/C being out. The company AHS use to care for their service calls was closed. (It was after hours) It’s the middle of the summer here in Texas. We would have had to wait until the next day to even be scheduled. We ended up using a company that would come out that evening but had to paid full price. :-(

I am happy with my home shield policy, but I was very unhappy with the last service from A1 Plumbing. The workers did not seem to understand my problem. The spent about 5 minutes turning the disposal on and off but did not address the fact I felt there was a clog in the pipe because the water drained slow. They then said there was no problem and left. The problem has not presented itself again, but I felt they dismissed it too quickly.

We have had AHS for more than 30 years, for 5 different homes and I have yet to have a situation that they did not resolve by repair or replacement. We have had repairs and replacements for plumbing , electric, air conditioners, furnaces, stove, garage door opener, pool pump, sump pump, water heater, garbage disposal, and microwave oven. We have had an outstanding relationship with AHS since 1994 and I plan to continue that relationship until I an no longer a home owner.

My recent service with AHS was a great experience. I was able to schedule my service online in minutes. The service provider they sent was from GE (General Electric) and was topnotch! He repaired my refrigerator ice machine and even made another repair we weren't even aware was needed. I've been with AHS for 5 years, and my only complaint is they have steadily been raising my rates every year. My rate has almost doubled since the first year, but I've also had a lot of items repaired, so overall, it has been worth the money so far.

So far American home shield has performed well on all the small issues over the years. Bigger issues seem to take a long time to get settled , I understand that dealing with contractors and getting estimates is a time consuming ordeal . American home has done well with removing my pool issue , I am waiting for the reimbursement to be sent to me…..also I under This can take some time. My main concern is my second home , I contacted sales to get the same warranty for that property but , after paying the premium for six months I finally requested a copy of the contract and it was not the same contract , I was informed that I could not change contracts till this one has expired . It truly was my own fault for not verifying what contract I was paying for. I have no appliance issues at that property but was surprised that appliances were not covered. Perhaps AHS should look into changing their policy of no upgrades during the contact period. AHS has been very responsive and I have trust in the service they provide. Thanks …….

The service providers are very professional and are able to fix most of the issues reported. If there are any parts, further authorizations needed it adds to the time it takes to address but the job is completed to satisfaction. Kudos to American Home Shield. I like being protected. I don't like some of the technicians that get sent out. On my hot water heater, the technician did not listen to me. So I ended up paying out of pocket for a new one. I submitted a claim to AHS but never heard anything back. That was disappointing. I had documentation and the water heater was over 15 years old. It wore out but the technician said it was caused by lighting or something and burned the circuit. Not true.

AHS is great and I wouldn't be without it. I'd like to see them be a little faster is all -- that would get them five stars from me. When my AC broke a couple months ago I was dealing with 100+ degree temps for almost three days before a service technician contacted me. Of course, HVAC companies were really busy then, so maybe it wasn't their fault entirely. But I had a similar wait time for a dishwasher repair a few years back. I can do dishes by hand for three days. I was less able to handle the heat. Buying a couple of small window AC units helped, but that cost more than the eventual repair would have, so this time I'd have come out ahead by just calling someone and paying out of pocket.

Appliance First did an excellent job of communication with me and installing my new cooktop that had to be replaced. I was not happy when i received a message that American Home shield could not find an installer and I would have to find one on my own. Appliance First was assigned to my job after I first reported my cooktop shorted out. I had to spend two hours with different people on the phone trying to get a dispatch work order assigned to have him install the cooktop. In he end I was very pleased but getting there was not a good experience.

The few times that I’ve called the situation has always been professional. Resolution seems to be the priority. When I called even for a problem that wasn’t fixed the first time they were apologizing and eagerly wanted to rectify it. I honestly have no negative issues with American Home Shield. But they ought to instilled within their protocol that they ask for payment after either situation: new customers existing customers. New customers should be told after the program has been explained and existing customers after they fully explain in detail about their problem.

My refrigerator was leaking water intermittently an also had trouble with temperature control- it was freezing things in the refrigerator. American Home Shield set up an appointment promptly. The technician called and also emailed to get the model number of the refrigerator and a complete description of the problem. The tech came on time and did a fabulous job. We were delighted with his expertise and professionalism. It's so hard to find a good tech who comes on time, communicates, and fixes things right...without fleecing you! What a pleasure to have AHS do that for me.

American Home Shield gives me piece of mind. I worry less about being stuck paying a large bill to repair or replace one of my home appliance and/or home systems. It was simple and easy to sign up for coverage and the monthly cost is reasonable. Fortunately I've only had to make two repair requests. Repair requests are quick and easy to submit online and allow you to choose when the technician will come out. One repair request resulted in the appliance being unrepairable and AHS made it so quick, easy and simple to replace the appliance. I definitely recommend AHS.

Our old washer started acting up and jammed the door; AHS sent a technician that was supposed to come 1 week later, but they cancelled because the technician got sick. I called AHS and they quickly resolved the issue and send another technician two days later. The technician diagnosed the issued, but recommended replacing the washer. We went and purchased a new washer and AHS reimbursed us for a large portion of the cost of the machine.

The service by AHS was excellent and speedi. I did not like the service by SEARS. They were slow. They waited till the last minute to alert me that the service on my refrigerator would be extended another 2 weeks. This was for a refrigerator replacement circuit board that blew July 3, 2023. After sending 2 service men at different times and having to reorder part 2 times and giving me a July 31, 2023 repair date. Sears then sends me a text July 29, 2023 that my service date has changed to August 15, 2023. I was not happy.

So far I have had a great experience with Home Shield. They have fixed my washer and AC within a reasonable time and customer service is always available and friendly. I have only had to pay the "deductible" that is required and the rest was paid for without issue by the warranty. Prompt service, with great results. I've never been denied a claim in the 13 years I've been a customer. I have gotten replacements for the AC, furnace, range, dishwasher, garagedoor motor and belt, and a hot water heater. This doesn't include how much I've saved in repairs as well. The monthly price has gone up quite a bit over the years, but in the end you make a lot of your money back in the claims.

Having AHS is peace of mind when it comes to a breakdown of an appliance, pipes, or AC. I can make a call and it will get taken care of. I am not always pleased with the 1st company they select for me and I have to request another the reps have been good about finding someone that will work with my schedule and need. All in all the job was performed right the first time and to date never had to recall a company back out.

I like that AHS was able to service our problems right away to fix our problems. The only problem that I have a problem was the tech. wanted to charage me almost $400.00 for a pound and half for freon which he said we need for my A/C unit which I thought that AHS shough be included with the service call. Which he said it wasnt covered I told him no not at this time and left it at that. But I pay a monthly fee that again when a tech. is sent out it should have been covered or discounted fee.

AHS is very responsive and quick to assign vendor when you file a service order, and the work of their vendors has generally been good. On most recent claim the first service provider misdiagnosed the problem and said he couldn’t do that work, but AHS assigned a second provider immediately and he was able to find the real problem and fix it; a few days delay but a good resolution. The online system is easy to use but it could benefit from more ability to provide specifics about claim. If your problem doesn’t fit exactly with the handful of options, your claim may get assigned to the wrong specialty of vendor.

AHS has been my lifesaver for over 4 years. When you own an older home, the chances of any system failing are great, and the cost is insane. AHS has had my back with: dryer, hot water heater, dishwasher, refrigerator, stove and oven, and more plumbing line clean outs then thought possible. A few calls have taken multiple visits to fix, but AHS has stuck with it to completion.

I like that my repairs were done with the service fee as my only expense. I have had trouble getting the service person or company that I want and trust. There was one time I was not pleased with the service provided by the company that was assigned to me, and I had trouble "not getting them again" when I needed another service. I refused to let them come again when they were assigned to me. It would be very helpful if I could choose from available providers rather than having someone assigned that I do not want.

Overall great response times and service contractors. One issue with open claim for over 2 months due to contractor lack of availability, waiting 2 weeks for initial appointment, 1 week for them to place order of parts, 1 week to call to schedule repair after receiving parts, 2 week wait time for appointment availability with parts. Arrived for repair and unable due to issues which were identified during initial appointment 6 weeks prior. Another 2 weeks before they could return with appropriate staff to complete repair. Still waiting, open item. During this time AHS has been unwilling to change contractor and is not holding to SLA and required timelines for contractor actions.

I like the piece of mind AHS provides. We had a period of bad luck with our appliances, and AHS’s contractors were promptly there each time to repair the issue. Our refrigerator required replacement, and the claim process was easy to navigate. We opted for store credit towards a purchase at Lowe’s instead of a replacement. The reimbursement value was reasonable, and the electronic gift card was delivered the next day. We’ve had an excellent experience with AHS!
