I've had extensive experience with home repairs, have owned many houses and was a DIY'er before it was a thing. I've been very impressed with AHS and the service technicians they've sent. Both AHS representatives and service technicians they've chosen have been responsive, pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. Please bear with me. I think comparison is an important part of a review. Experience with other home warranty companies: In the past I've purchased home warranties, FROM OTHER COMPANIES (not yelling, no other available way to emphasize), on houses I purchased and wasn't impressed. The companies weren't very responsive and the service providers they used were subpar. At one house I had an old galvanize pipe spring a leak requiring the water be shut off. They sent a bozo out who determined the need to replace the pipe (I'd told them this when I made the service request). He left saying he'd be back the next day to make the repair. He never returned or answered any of my calls. That warranty company, without concern, said oh he probably showed up to collect the upfront fee you paid. Without urgency they sent someone else out, days later, who replaced the leaking pipe but he wasn't very professional, his work looked sloppy and he left a mess. The repair took about 30 minutes but we were without water for over a week. At another house, the piston rings on the AC compressor wore out. It worked as long at the outside temperature didn't exceed 75 degrees. Above that, it didn't cool. That warranty company sent out an idiot who diagnosed this problem but claimed since the compressor was running, it wasn't covered under warranty. It didn't matter that on hot days it would get over 90 degrees inside and the unit ran 24/7. He then offered to replace the outside AC unit for an outrageous amount of money. It took almost two weeks of less than pleasant conversations with that warranty company to get them to come to the table and they still contributed only a fraction of what the repair cost. I hope my good experiences with AHS are typical for all it's customers.

The second vendor who was sent to repair the refrigerator was THE BEST! Called in advance and followed up wih a text; arrived on time, professional and assessed the issue. Said he would be back the very next day with the compessor and will have it installed the same day. True to word, he arrived and within two hours the refrigerator was cooling. The best I have experienced.......I will definitely recommend this company to friends who need repairs. AHS and specifically Tracey B went over and beyond to find another vendor who could be more timely with the repairs/replacement. (The first vendor who showed up as well as the nexts steps to get a repair done was at least a month). Tracey knew it was already three weeks without a refirgerator.....my thanks to the AHS team who kept me updated, called to see how the repair was, and more

I have had nothing but positive experiences with AHS. I recently requested service on my washer and they sent out 2 different contractor companies who were not able to fix the issue. These contractors told AHS the fix was something not covered by my warranty and therefore they would not work on the issue. I reached out to AHS with photos and an explanation of how I didn't feel the contractors knew the real issue. AHS believed me and sent out a 3rd contract who was finally able to fix the issue and my washer works like new now. I appreciate AHS taking the time to listen to me (their customer) over the contractors and doing everything required to have my washer fixed. I will continue to use and recommend AHS.

They assigned a business to come out and take care of my appliance needs right away. One appliance still wasn’t working right, so I’ve had multiple people come out. And some parts were ordered by the appliance company, so I’m still under contract, until it’s fixed or maybe replaced. Guess I’ll just have to wait and see. But I know if the contractor says it can’t be fix. This company will replace the item. Just I’ll find out soon after the new parts are put in because, it’s been almost a month without a fridge. And I’ve thrown out a lot of food. Cross my fingers this will be resolved soon.

My clothes dryer suddenly stopped working. I have subscribed to American Home Shield for over a year so I called and reported my dryer problem. Right after my dryer stopped a pillowcase got caught in my washing machine. I couldn’t remove it. I called AGS back and my washer was added to my claim. Within two days I was called by BA DISTRIBUTING LLC a local repair company and had an appointment. A very nice professional repairman came and fixed both my dryer and my washer. After fixing both units the technician completed a thorough check of both machines. He said the voltage and readings are normal. I couldn’t be happier with his service. I’m back to having clean dry clothes… I couldn’t be happier. 😍

I had AHS for 10 to 15 years. Their service was always great. Several years ago I switched to another home warranty company in order to save a few dollars. It took about six months to find out what a huge mistake that was. After virtually no service from the new company I couldn’t wait to get back to AHS. I was welcomed back with open arms. I just recently had my first service call since coming back. It was handled in the same efficient way they handled things in the past. I will be an AHS customer for life. As all three of my sons have married and are buying their own homes I’ve encouraged them to b come an AHS customer.

Super Transparent, up-front pricing and the coverage options are quality. Thankfully I've only ever had to to contact them a couple of times, but each time I have AHS has been extremely responsive. The portal is very user friendly and easy to navigate, and it seems like they've done a good job of vetting the service providers they work with because I've been equally impressed with the work as well (Phoenix, AZ). For example, we could very easily have spent upwards of $1k servicing and tuning up our A/C unit since moving into the house a few years ago; having AHS has meant we paid a fraction of that cost, and we've always had reliable, speedy and comprehensive service without needing to shop around for it

Ease of setting up a request for repair. But one down side I have experienced in the past which I already informed AHS about needs AHS' attention. One suggestion I have is that they should allow customers to recommend the service provider to use especially on more urgent cases. Any suggestions is highly appreciated. Like when I had a repair needed on my home aircon. They want me to wait for 3-5 days before the technician becomes available. That time it's like 105F in Texas, you think my family can wait that long? Can your family if it ever happened to you, can wait that long? Think about it please. When in fact I gave them an option, and recommended one Aircon repair company, they just need to make a swift accreditation or exception and they can use them asap. I wont hold AHS responsible to any mishaps. Sadly they said no. So even if I have AHS as home warranty at this Very Important instance it is simply Useless, so I had to just avail of the other company's services out of pocket, A very disappointing experience indeed! This type of urgency AHS should have been more humane enough to make some executive decisions/exceptions. God bless you all!

We have had American Home Shield (AMS) for over 6 years and have found them to be responsive and equipped with the resources to cover our household's major appliances at every turn. In full disclosure, at first, I thought it was cumbersome to get issues resolved, but as an engineer, I could see how AMS retooled several front-end processes and we have never had a hitch in getting a technician to accurately assess any potential problems and respond rapidly to them resolved. From our Central AC compressor and associated electrical components to the coverage of our washer and dryer, and home well pump system. AMS has provided high-quality experts along with prompt and courteous customer service. We plan on retaining AMS and have recommended them to several of our family members.

I have been with AHS for years and I am very satisfied with the service they provide. at time AHS will try get out of paying for replacement of a cover item, if your repairman recommend replacement mostly AC units. However, I still like AHS and I think they are the BEST HOME WARRANTY COMPANY. as a matter of fact, AHS just replaced my water heat. I will continue with AHS and I strongly recommend AHS, if you are looking for the BEST HOME WARRANTY COMPANY. I recommend ShieldPlatinum plan cost a little more, but cover a lot. I identified AHS as the BEST HOME WARRANTY COMPANY, I hope they don't prove me wrong in the future with bad service. At this time AHS earned this 5 stars rating and I can only hope they continue to earn 5 stars rating from me in the future with outstanding service and honoring they words "If we can fix it, we will replace it".

I’ve had a few different home warranty companies over the last 20 years. We had AHS for many years and then for some reason we went with another company when we moved to Texas. It was a huge mistake. When that contract ended, we went back to AHS and couldn’t be more pleased. The house we purchased was built in the 90’s and when we moved in, we anticipated some issues. We’ve had A/C units break down, fridge, garage door opener, pool pump, and much more. All of these were repaired with no issues and only paying our $100 deductible each time. Looking at what we’ve spent annually and what’s been repaired, it was one of the smarter decisions we’ve made. We selected the premium plan (whatever it’s called) and I don’t think I’ll change again from AHS. I’m not a paid spokesman, just a Harry Homeowner who’s had a good experience.

Fast, reliable service. That gives me peace of mind. So far, I've used AHS twice on two rental properties. One needed a new garbage disposal - plumber came the very next day cleared the drain and ordered a new garbage disposal, which was all completed in 5 days. The other service was a dishwasher - the technician was there the next day and finished on the same day. . That is EXCELLENT service! If you only knew the hell I went through with the other two companies that I tried . It's only a couple minutes wait time to reach a representative, not an hour - they don't mix up your appliances, AHS understands you and gets it right the first time and sends contractors that actually show up. The most important is that the job is done either in a day or a week, tops, rather than 3 months (which was my experience with the last two home warranty companies). If you have Tenants, they will be mad if they have to wait a long time and who can blame them. AHS gets the job done fast. If you want peace of mind, AHS is the company to get. I highly recommend it.

I was hesitant at first to use them so asked my insurance agent about a home warranty. He told me about AHS. He gave them a great review and said it was a good thing. I have been so pleased. They helped me get a new refrigerator, cook-top, and new washer. My ceramic cook-top was cracked and they immediately replaced it with the same item as the original was still available. They attempted to repair the washing machine x1 but when the repairman said it was irreparable they replaced it. The original was no longer available so I selected a new one. They tried to repair the refrigerator but it had parts that were no longer available so I was able to select a new one. They try to repair the item first with the original but if that isn't an option you have options for replacement. You can take a check or a gift card to an appliance store and make your own selections anywhere or go into the store and select from the choices they offer or you can select online from the choices they give you. The replacement value is very fair but I chose to order a new washer and fridge on-line and was very pleased with the items available to choose from. The online website makes it so easy to use their services right from the start, from the first time you request service to choosing replacement options. As I am recovering from a broken leg I really appreciated the website and options to shop right from home. I also used them to repair my heater. It took two visits but they got it right and it works fine now. I am 100% pleased and would refer them to anyone!

Most claims were handled quickly. Although there were a couple times when there were delays. I wish there was an option to select the service provider, as it seems I never get a company that has worked with me before. For example, recently we had both of our AC units go down and we made a service request. A service provider came and advised that the work order was only for one unit (I don't believe the online request allows us to provide much details) and they requested I submit another request for the 2nd unit. Although it did not stop the technician from repairing both systems, and I did as requested. To my surprise, AHS assigned a different company to address the second request (which we cancelled). Within the last couple of months, we have been assigned three [3] different AC service providers. Generally, I am very satisfied with AHS.

Initially, I was skepitcal of home warranties because I thought they were a waste of money. One of my neigbors had American Home Shield and recommended them. I decided to give it a try even though I was skeptical. About 8 months after signing the home warranty contract we had an issue with our dishwasher and stove top. We called AHS and they immediately sent out a contractor. However, the contractor came to our house for 5 minutes to diagnose the problem and took forever to submit it to AHS. It ended up getting denied which didn't seem right as it appeared to be covered in the contract. We call AHS but hard a hard time getting to someone to help us. I defintiely was regretting having it and felt I was right along a long and home warranties are a rip off. Eventually, we did connect with someone and they sent a new contractor to our house who diagnosed the probelm correctly. They fixed our dishwasher and we got a brand new stove oven. My opinion changed at that point. Since than we have had some mostly minor stuff happen at our house and AHS has been great. In fact we recently had our in wall A/C unit die and it was completely replaced with a new one by AHS. Although in the beginning we didn't get off on the right foot I have been so happy with AHS and having the peace of mind that they have my back if anything breaks. I highly recommend.

Every experience I've had has been positive. Customer service is always helpful and if I have a complaint about service (which is rare), they fix it. The only complaint I have is with the deadline regarding a repair that isn't completely fixed. I have to put in a new work order (& pay the fee) to have the appliance serviced again. I was told the deadline is 30 from the time the work order is put in not from the time the repair is made. There was a delay in the appliance being repaired due to the amount of time it took for the part to come in. The repair needed to be redone but the 30 days had already passed.

That means after a repair is completed, if you may experience that same problem again you have 30days from the technician's last day at your home to contact AHS so that we can send them back out at no additonal charge. If there i s a part delay you do not have to pay again when the technician returns because the job would not be considered completed until the part is installed.

Ahs was great and got the technician out the next day to access the problem. Since it was Friday. I am sure that is why the part was ordered Monday. I reached out on Wed for an update and she penciled us in for Thursday AM.. since she could see part should be arriving. I told her Thank you.. especially with the long July 4th weekend coming up. It was so great to have a house from 82 degrees ( due to a small window unit.. blessing) back to a comfortable 77. I even asked the technician for a quick quote on an easier to use Temp controller. I am keeping the number for regular maintenance too. Mrs Honesty

Repairman was able to get there on time. The appt was set up within 24hrs and work was done within 48hrs. The dispatch/customer support for the repair company felt a little unprofessional as when I talked to 2 different agents to confirm the appt they both had call quality issues, one I could not hear very well due to connectivity issues like static. The 2nd agent had dogs barking and kids screaming in the background and spoke so casually that it felt like a scam call. I appreciated that an email confirmation was sent as well. American Home Shield has a very quick and easy process to submit trouble tickets.

Being older and on a fixed income, I wish I had known about this home warranty earlier in life. Owning your home can be very expensive, with unending expenses. I had to file 2 claims with American Home Shield in one week. They responded immediately, and sent licensed contractors to repair my leaking faucet and broken air conditioner within a day. Both my issues were repaired, and the contractors were amazing. I am beyond thankful for their fast and professional service they provided. My experience with them is definitely a 5 star rating. I will recommend them to anyone who is looking for a reputable home warranty co. They went far and above, and I am so thankful I decided to take this plan out. So worth it!

Every time I have requested a service AHS has promptly gotten a service company in the correct specialty to quickly contact me and make an appointment to come to my home and fix the problem. I am extremely satisfied with their service. I have only had one problem in the nine years that I have had AHS where the contractor did not satisfactorily correct my house problem. And after I had tried to get the company several times to come back and do the job over it was not corrected properly. I then called AHS and told a customer service lady step by step what had happened and the AHS lady said, "I'll take care of it right now." And she did! Within half an hour the service company called me back and sent out another technician who correctly fixed the problem. I would never have gotten it corrected on my own and AHS stepped in and like "Johnnie-on-the-spot" it got fixed quickly and correctly. Thank you--American Home Shield!

We had a problem with our dishwasher. We hired a company to come and repair it. The Service person who came to fix the dishwasher told us that, "These things are made to become obsolete". He told us there was nothing he could do to fix it and left. A couple of weeks later, we started getting a large lump in our woof floor in the kitchen. I decided to get American Home Shield to come and check it out. We knew we had a problem. The American Home Shield technician told us it was a $25.00 part and he could fix it. He stated that the dishwasher was leaking and that is why we had a large lump in our wood floor. It took months, but finally the lump went down. Our dishwasher had worked perfectly ever since. Since then we also had an electrical problem that was repaired right away with American Home Shield. They are the best and we feel comfortable knowing we have a warranty on our home appliances.

I have always had excellent reponse. LL When my furnace wouldn't come on in the middle of the a very cold winter the service company called immediately and fixed shortly after. I just used again for my dryer that needed service. The service company called within an hour of putting in request. They setup a time, the tech was here at the time we set the appointment and fixed the dryer, workers wonderfully now. The tech was very professional, advised us what the problem was, what he needed to do and approximately how long long it would take. I can't say enough good aboutAmerican Home Shield and told everyone that I know what a life saver it has been for me.

I am more than impressed with AHS. I bought a home in the Springtime of 2020 and I was happy as could be. I purchased an AHS home warranty because it is a three story house and I wanted to protect the roof as well as all of the interior. Sure enough by the Fall when it was time to use the furnace the lower unit worked for about a week and went out. I paid $100 service call and within four days the contractor had repaired the furnace because he had to wait on a part. The following month the double oven and oversized washer went out and I paid another $100 service fee and after inspection the contractor recommended replacements. The next days after inspection AHS had ordered both appliances without any hassle. I cannot tell you how impressed I am with the level of service, hassle-free, and speed at which they honored my contract. I look forward to keeping them for years to come because my house is 30-years old and it is a 4500 square foot home. Thank you AHS.

Two specific claims within a month. First was AC that required trips to diagnose, order parts ( shipped wrong part) requiring a third trip. Keith (technician) was great, communicated on each step and was very timely. Office staff was very courteous and helpful with scheduling and follow up. Second claim was on our refrigerator. The GE technician was on time and accessed that refrigerator could not be repaired so AHS agreed to replaced the unit. Since the comparable unit was currently unavailable we elected to upgrade and pay additional fee to get an upgraded unit. AHS paid delivery and installation cost. We were completely pleased with entire process and happy to recommend AHS for home warranty coverage.

I signed up with American Home Shield around 10 years ago and have never had any difficult dealings with them. They have been excellent in all aspects. Since signing up with them, I have had to call them 6 times to fix various appliances such as our washer and also the dryer, a water leak coming from our fridge, the garbage dispenser, and recently, our air conditioning unit. I have never paid more than $75.00 charge for them to come out and the companies they send out are the best. They are very courteous and seem to know their job and do it well as far as I am concerned. They are easy to understand which makes it even better. I always know that I am getting the best possible service which is very important to me. I also love the fact that you can call them 24/7 and hardly ever is the hold time on the phone. To say the least, I am very happy with American Home Shield and will continue to be one of their customers for many years to come.

I purchased HS this year my washer of 5 yrs went out ( stop spinning) I filed a claim ( very easy and quickly) a tech was scheduled to out before the end of the week. He was prompt and great communication in regards of his arrival . He quickly assessed my machine. HS authorized a new machine I had many options of a replacement to choose from from. Because it was older my I I had a few hundred dollars credit towards a brand new machine my options were from $100 '$5000. I Chose a $100 one and I Love it.. it's much bigger faster and it holds more close .so I paid a total including the deductible $200 for a newer better machine. I originally paid apx $7- $800 00 for it

American Home Shield (AHS) has been a godsend for me! Before AHS, I had 3 major appliances go out in the same year multiple times. With the skyrocketing cost of service, I paid thousands out of pocket. I saw the commercial for AHS and decided to give it a try. I am so-o-o-o glad that I made that call. In the last year alone, AHS replaced my $10K heat pump and $1.5K refrigerator. Do the math. That would take me about 2 decades in premiums to pay all that back. If you are debating signing up, DON'T! Get AHS. They have sent out only 4 to 5-star service providers that know what they are doing. When they can't fix, they offer to replace, give you a check for the full retail price, or even give you options to upgrade (and pay the difference) should you choose. The premiums are very reasonable and they cover just about everything. I can't say a single bad thing about these guys. Thank you, AHS! I am an AHS customer for life!

When my a/c crapped out, a service tradesman came within two to three days. He determined that it couldn't be repaired, and the entire unit needed to be replaced. He order the unit, and in just a little more than a month, he came to my home and installed the entire unit. The tradesman and his assdistantwere thorough and professional. I had to hire a handy man to remove the door and door frame to the utility closet in order to remove the inside a/c unit and replace it. It just so happened that a handy man was working on a project at my home, so he removed the access don't and frame to facilitate the ease in replacing the inside a/c unit.

They respond quickly after we post our repair need on their user site. Normally, the service person comes the following day. My biggest gripe is that they won’t replace an appliance with the same quality level. For example, we had to pay extra for a stainless steel dishwasher to replace the existing stainless steel. AHS would only supply the least expensive painted model as the replacement. Also, they only pay $10/lb. for Freon, leaving me to pay $75-$85 per lb. There are a lot of HVAC repairs which require additional payment from the user. I’ve had to pay out of pocket up to $1,000 for some HVAC repairs. There is virtually always extra costs that the customer must incur.

We have had AHS just over 2 years. They have been extremely diligent in resolving our warranty needs which have been more frequent than we certainly anticipated. The last AHS agent to help me get an appointment with a vendor was named Anthony and he was extraordinary in resolving a booking issue over a dryer repair. He is working out of a call center and he made sure that we set agreed times for him to call me back to verify things were handled when there was some unforeseen glitches in their system. And the vendors they use have been extremely prompt & professional. We usually have the repairs done within 5 days.

I was skeptical at first not really knowing what to expect. I thought when it was time to ask for a service to be done, that it would be a long drawn out process, a hassle or I would get the run around. To my surprise when I put in a order for a service to be done. It was very smooth and easy. You just check the box letting them know which item, and the problem, then they send you the information of the person that will be contacting you to provide the service. The company that came out to provide the service, was very professional, fixed the problem and left. My only regret is the fact that it took me so long to purchase a home warranty. The best feeling you can give yourself is a peace of mind and I definitely received it with American Home Shield.

2 requests from AS the same week! #1 was septic alarm going off turned out to be a simple fix..running toilet. Contractor is to return and replace "toilet flapper.' Contractor was professional, on time and respectful. Communicated what he was doing the whole time. #2 was and electrical issue with outdoor under the Eve can lights not working. Again a simple problem easily and quickly resolved. Contractor contacted me to reschedule for an earlier time …which was much appreciated. When someone calls for service it takes a long time to go over the standard contact information in addition to the property info. I have multiple properties and somehow with the upgrades my property info is changed and I cannot correct the information myself. I have 4 properties in the same condo complex with same address but different units. I had the unit number in the description. Somehow the description changed on the online portal. Cannot get the customer service people understand and somehow change the property info to include unit number. When I am on line I cannot differentiate without opening the contract details. Please have someone correct the property information to include unit/apartment number

The website makes it so easy to report a claim and get let me know which company has been assigned to come out. I wish there was a way to type comments but perhaps it is better to call and speak with a live person (which is a great option) if needed.The only other 2 things are 1) If there was option to pay more for a plan that allowed us to make an upgrade if/when needed (or pay the difference in price between comparable and desired upgrade) that would be amazing! and 2) Anyone considering a home warranty should know repairs may take significantly longer than if you were paying company directly, as often the parts have to come from a source the warranty company works with.

AHS was on the job quickly. My air conditioner had stopped running. The temperature in my home was 88 degrees. My poor dog was panting and restless. I was hot, and miserable in spite of the fans. I contacted AHS via email. Entered my info and the problem I was having. AHS response was quick, informing me that a technician will be contacting me shortly. I just knew that shortly meant weeks from now since this was the time of the season when people are getting their air conditioners maintenanced. I was wrong and surprised, I was contacted by the technician the same day and an appointment was made for the next day. A technician came out the next day, saw the problem and solved it in less than ten minutes. I am very happy that I have AHS and really appreciate how efficient they are. Hats off to AHS!

One situation and the response was quickly, the professional person they sent was exactly what I was looking for. He address and corrected my problem. The first time I called was an issue of removing one old washer and connecting a new one. That was in January and I wish I would have gotten the same person to schedule, but he said they could not schedule it. There was no explanation for it except no. As a result I had to hire a dishonest plumber who cheated me on price and stated he did more than he did. I disputed his work with the credit card company, he lost and now is threatening me that he is turning me over to collections when he paid half of his cheating request. I only would like to know why I got a refusal from American Shield, and I am not through with the other man’s threats. This could have ended differently.

Because they are very Best at what they do most of the time, sometimes the contractors they send to us need to be really checked out. We were tricked by once into making a purchase ourselves for over $5200 When we should have just said no, we will let AHS do the purchasing, but the contractors were fast talker and offered us a deal that only caused us heartaches, headaches etc. into buying a new Air condition/heater, our old one could not be repaired it was well over 12 years old. We spent $5200 that we should not have paid for. So we have to let AHS to investigate the contractors they send to us. Some of the vendors are out to rob the system. AHS is really a great company - Been with them over 20 years..

They were very quick to respond to the issue(s) we had. The first contractor they sent out just was not up to the task and could not finish the needed work. After I contacted them anout this they profusely appologized and immediately sent out a second contractor who fixed the problem in a fraction of the time the first contractor took on his failed attempt. I am sure that the first contractor will never be called on again by AHS, and that is just as it should be. I do not fault AHS for the failure on the first attempt. They worked with us 100% and we are more than satisfied with the result.

Still working out some kinks closing out our contract  (as it is a process). We got this home warranty because a friend recommended it she has had a great experience with them.We encountered various problems and for several months it was a very distressing, frustrating situation;  finally we got in contact with an excellent  E-Service Supervisor, Tara has been very  empathetic and an employee with a high degree of professionalism.  Tara did apologize for the miscommunication and  explained that the home warranty will not always fit all consumer needs, it didn't work for us, however we have heard great reviews. I have been with American Home Shield for about 7 years. They completely had my washing machine rebuild, new tub new everything, six months later the door latch and could not be replaced. So they bought me a brand new washer! A couple of years ago late at night my H Vac system tarted to put out propane fumes on a very cold night. I was able to get someone one the phone, she as me to hold and a few minutes later she came back on line to say the only person she could get out was about 2 hours away but that he was on the way. The system could not be repaired so they called me to say my new system was being shipped that day and would arrive within 4 days! Even the person that had originally came out was shocked at that awesome service. America Home Shield has also replaced my double oven and my microwave! You can put a work order in lat at night on line and the next morning a service company is calling to set up a convenient time to come to my home!

Quick Response. This is my second full year. Prior when I bought my first house part of the deal was them providing a decent home warranty company. Despite two inspections 30 days after I moved in the HVAC unit died on a snowstorm. I tried to go through my home warranty and not only was I not able to speak to anybody they made it very clear with their automated response via online, that I would be Serviced in the next 1 to 2 weeks. At the time I had a child under the age of one and a parent over the age of 60 staying with me with no heat. I ended up having to go outside them and find a company that was willing to come out to service my unit. When I found out that the unit needed to be replaced I try to contact the home warranty company again finally received a live person. Explained what happened and gave them the reference receipts of me trying to get a hold of them. They were adamant that they would take care of it but I would have to wait almost 2 weeks for somebody to come out and re-investigate the results that there’s a reputable HVAC company had already given. It was then I decided that I would not use them ever again considering it was no exceptions there was no emergency response other than the answers that I received. Thank God I have not really been in such a similar situation since, but anytime that I have had to use My home warranty with American Home Shield, the online responsiveness is amazing. There’s no need for multiple questions for clarity because it’s given right up front. I get email confirmations and text confirmations from them and immediately from whoever they dispatched my ticket to. I don’t think I waited more than 30 minutes before they called to schedule an appointment to come out. And when I came out they were prompt professional and was able to resolve the issues or in some cases educate me being a new homeowner so I would not make the same mistake again. It’s worth every penny.

I would rate AHS five Stars for many reasons. First, was the quality of the vendors who responded to our need to repair/replace or 15 year old refrigerator. Prompt, professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The first technician saw the need for two parts which he ordered. Our rep from AHS, Megan, assured me that she would follow-up on that order and expedite it as quickly as possible. After those parts were installed, the real problem emerged; a defective "motherboard." The technician quickly checked its availability and found that it was no longer available. Once again, Megan stepped in and contacted the replacement department at AHS so that we could be reimbursed for a replacement refrigerator of a similar nature. Megan was amazing. She often checked back with me to see how things were going and even offered to pay for a small refrigerator until ours was repaired or replaced. Her kind, professional demeanor was much appreciated. Customer service like that, especially today, is often a rare commodity. I strongly recommend this company for all home warranty issues. Thank you, AHS. While it was unfortunate to be without a fridge for a few days, I feel like we gained a few new friends along the way not to mention a beautiful new refrigerator!

At first, I was beginning to think that I had made a mistake paying for this home warranty every month. I was having an air conditioning problem during an unusually record breaking heat wave in Tucson Arizona. The first company that was sent to me was no help. I then called American Home multiple times to get my system fixed after I went through multiple days with temperatures at 89 degrees which is unbearable to live in and sleep in. I kept getting a different agent each time I called including one that I could hear a rooster crowing in the background. I really wondered what type of company this was until Wendy from Iowa answered! She personally took my problem as her very own. She became my 1 point of contact. She quickly called and coordinated between another reputable air conditioning company and a wonderful electrician. She called me multiple times to follow up on my problem. She had empathy and great understanding for what I was going through especially being quarantined in a house that felt like a sauna. She is my hero! And I hope that she will be recognized for her attention to detail, and bringing the personal touch back in between the customer and the company. Bill Richard's was the electrician that came out expediently and even came back out a second time all on his own to try and fix the problem. He was amazing! Lastly, Smart Choice heating and cooling was very professional! The technician was on time and came first thing in the morning. But none of this would have happened without Wendy orchestrating all of it! If I could, I would give them all a reward and a hug!! From a 22 year Veteran United States Airforce.

American Home Shield has been a wonderful company to work with. I have several properties and use their services several times a year. It is easy to make appointments and the services are performed in a timely fashion not like other similar programs offered by other companies. AHS coverage is far more extensive that other plans I have used and other plans I have evaluated. It is easy to reach a person if you have questions. Their online interface is also easy to use and one of the easiest to understand. I think AHS policies are the best plans on the market and I would strongly recommend them.
