They need better customer service. You have to leave a message and be called back, and if you're not available at that time it's just a repetitive process. My husband is dealing with the equipment because we got an upgrade and it's difficult to use. I guess I'm satisfied, although it's not the best.

Many years ago they we're in the area and they just came to the door. Since the the service has been declining. We were with them for like 15 years and we're still using the same equipment and the biggest thing is they don't have anyone in the area to come in and help you if you need it installed, you're own your own.

My alarm system began with Smith, went to Monitronics, then to Brinks. So, all in all, I've had over 20 years of security service. Because I had an upgrade a few years ago, I was told that I had agreed to a verbal contract with Brinks. I can't remember this and they have nothing in writing but still I have to pay or get sued. My husband and I have decided to move to another city and I was told by Brinks that I owed another six months and to pay up if I wanted to be disconnected. I've opted to pay for the new owners of my home to have free protection for six months rather than give Brinks $200+ and not get anything for it. So beware, if you terminate early you will be charged the entire time of your contract! Not even offered a discount. Not very good customer relations in my book.

Beware!!!!! Brinks is using the "cost recovery fee" as a way to raise prices. My monthly bill is $25.00 and my cost recovery fee is now over $6.00 per month. This fee has been raised by over $3.00 in just the last year. I spoke with customer service (which is a nightmare in itself) and requested a copy of the notification, which explains this increase, until now I have not received it. Customer service directed me to their website, but while on the phone with them, they were also not able to find the explanation. Any agreed contract, with them, is not binding because they hide increases under "cost recovery fees". Feb 14th Brinks did reach out to me and my issue has been resolved.

I had Brinks at my last house for a long time. The company had a semi decent service center to assist you when there was an issue such as when alarm in middle of night would start chirping for no reason which we had to enter code to stop and a few minutes later it would start again. But a call to service center and depending who you got to assist would stop the issue most times. When ADT bought Brinks, the sent techs who replaced all modules with ADT compatible system. The customer service had no idea how to stop alarm when the same issue would start. At one time, we were told to go downstairs, unscrew the panel and remove the backup batter or something to stop the chirping (this was middle of night & was very annoying.. but what was more annoying was that we were paying for alarm service but only connected the backup battery when we went on a trip).. besides this issue, our bills changed a few times as well and it would take several calls to resolve.

I've had Protect America alarm system for over 5 years now and I am a happy customer. I like the easy set-up and how friendly the customer service agents are each time time call with an issue. When alarms are set off, I am notified promptly via text, email, and a phone call. The mobile app is also easy to use and convenient to arm or disarm the house if I forget. I also like how I am allowed to set different codes for friends/family who are house-sitting so I can know who is coming or going. I also like how I can arm the system when i'm at home alone as well so I can feel safe. Protect America has given me peace of mind for the last 5 years and I plan on staying with this company for a long time to come.

UPDATE: Brinks tech showed up at 6 after running late on last call. Spent two hours here and replaced all old equipment. Was very helpful! We have had Brinks for quite some time. Our equipment is antiquated and hadn't worked for several months. We have called....sat on the phone for hours to no avail. Made an appointment for a service rep to come out two weeks ago. Stayed home, they never showed up. Today we had another service appointment. Stayed home all day and nothing It is 5:04 pm and still waiting. At this point I want to go with another company. Worst Customer Service ever with Brinks!

Installation went well...it took a little longer to put up the motion detector in the corner of the room as suggested by protect America...but great customer support. I would give have given them a 5, but I had to contact customer regarding their app...and I was on hold for quite a bit until I got a rep on the phone who resolved the issue in a few minutes.

Brinks has been fine as far as security. Had an issue upfront with the order in which they would contact me is an alarm went off. They had to call the police first and me second which makes no sense whatsoever to me! It was resolved after several phone calls. What upsets me the most is that they only provide 1 yard sign for free and you have to purchase any extra. Monitronics gave me 2 yards signs free of charge. I called to replace those with Brinks signs and they are charging me $10 for one of them! That just baffles me. Isn't that free advertising as well. Complete rip off if you aske me! Kari Biddix

The company claims to have the best customer service, however no resolution to issues, long wait times both on the phone, and text, service for issues is horrible. No monitoring for two (2) weeks no credit, parts unavailable, tech support not sure of how to resolve or trouble shoot an issue. As a consumer I had more knowledge about how to test the equipment then support tech. When I wanted to cancel my account I was left on hold for more then 1 hour, then told I can't without paying a penalty of 23 months. I had no contract and they could not provide me with a copy to show that I was under contract. Terrible experience with this company. I did not contract with them, I had contacted with a different company, however they transferred me to Brinks I paid for 3 years just got tired of all the run around.

Jenny was great. We recently had to move due to a threat to my home. My old setup wasn’t effective. After speaking to Jenny my wife and I started to brainstorm with her and she kept giving us options that were affordable and EXACTLY what we were looking for. i logged online to get information and immediately was in a chat session with a salesman - I obviously was interested in a security system and he took no time selling me on Protect America systems which sounded good at the time. After being pretty much bum rushed through a series of documents I had no time to read and signed - I had a security system that looked good but one that I knew virtually nothing about. I realized several days later that I had made a mistake and have since sent all the equipment back to negate the 3yr guaranteed payment contract for over $1500 I signd up for.

Brinks took over Livewatch. We seem to have one issue after another since that takeover. Customer Service needs help! We can never just GET THROUGH.....we always have to wait for a call back which is usually hours. Once we get through, USUALLY that person is very kind and helpful. Our system now is constantly going off. ..and IN THE MIDDLE OF NIGHT....went off from 3am - 5 am. We contacted the ON CALL.....which for a company as big as Brinks, I would expect them to have 24/7 customer service. We out it in as URGENT bc we couldnt get our system to stop going off. I'm not sure what the term URGENT means because we didnt get a call until about 1130am, which with us working, we could not deal with it. Again this was URGENT. In the meantime, we cannot even USE OUR SYSTEM! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE when it comes to CONTACT SOMEBODY quickly and convenient for us.

Five Years Ago when I got the system we had moved into a brand new house. Salesman promised more equipment than what was given. As I had heard bad reviews of the competitors in the area, I went with MONI through a third party of CRS Services. Now 5 years later, my bill has increased from $55.00 to $65.00 with no explanation, and adding any additional equipment to my service costs an arm and a leg. You would think they would have a reward program or perks for long time customers. I'm at the end of my contract, and starting to shop for systems again. Looking for a great price with equipment that is comparable in the market place without gouging my wallet.

Very courteous, knowledgeable, the price for what I got was amazing. I had a smoke alarm sound off, the monitoring was so quick, the response time was less than 5 seconds. They were calling me to. See if we werd alright. Very impressive. The installation was simple. I am happy I changed from ADT!!!
