I first found out about them through an ad, and I took advantage of that first impression. For me it's very easy cause I did it myself and I had no problems with it; I like it. I am thinking about switching to the wireless system because I want to do it with my home phone.

Installing and using the security equipment was fine. They sent us one piece of other equipment; Nadine was very helpful and she told us how to install it and everything, but all the other people need to be trained better. We switched to Protect America because we weren't satisfied with our prior alarm company, which was ADT.

I don't have any complaints when it came to the installation process. They came to install it the first time, and after a few updates, they came out again. It takes a long time to get hold of somebody at customer support; you're on the phone for quite a long time... They're pretty good, but I just got disconnected occasionally, and sometimes they don't call back right away. Installation was slow, and I've had a fair experience so far with the equipment. They responded quickly when there is alarm set off and I definitely wouldn't do without alarm system any longer. Price and reputation were my main motives for choosing Protect America.

The service is okay. A lot of times I think it take them a few minutes to call you back and sometimes they don't even call you back. The way it's set up, if you go in and cancel the call, they won't call you back. If I'm coming in and I open the door and the alarm goes off, I cut it off with my key chain on my key, but nobody ever calls me.

We decided to get a security system because some robbers broke into our next-door neighbors house and they had a lot of problems. We used to have the wireless-cell service and that worked well. We decided to switch to the internet based connection and it isn't as good. We have issues sometimes with our sensors. The company is good to deal with though. I'd give them a 7 or 8.

The last couple of years though a few of my sensors haven't been working and they wont come out to repair them so I don't know what tot do. The price is pretty fair, which is why I am keeping them. Every time I've had a problem, the have been able to solve it. The service is good, and the product works, and that's basically all I need. The only complaint that I have is that they switched to a new sort of control box, and it doesn't give me the delay that I need to get in and turn the alarm off. The only problem is that technical support isn't available all night. Once it gets late, their phones shut down and you have to text them. Sometimes it's kind of hard to diagnose the problems when you're texting with someone.
