While Medical Guardian does offer some of the best equipment and services in the industry, there are still some aspects of their service that require additional attention prior to purchasing.

  • Initial Service Agreement: While there is no contract with Medical Guardian, there is a minimum three-month (90-day) service agreement. Medical Guardian asks that consumers try their service for at least three months before canceling. If a consumer decides they do not want to wait three months to cancel, consumers may do so. However, Medical Guardian will keep the 90-day minimum charge and consumers will then receive money back for any remaining portion of the service charges they did not use. This is not ideal for those who want to test Medical Guardian for one month, but cancellation is still possible.
  • No Combo Package: Medical Guardian does not offer a combo package at this time. This means that consumers will not be able to group multiple items together to receive a discounted rate.

The Bottom Line

Medical Guardian has proved to be an industry leader with their emergency support, quality products, and affordable service. How much does Medical Guardian Cost?

Medical Guardian has four products that vary in price. Here is a price breakdown of each product:

  • Classic Guardian: $29.95/month
  • Home Guardian: $34.95/month

Is there a contract?

There are no long-term contracts for any of the products. However, part of the customer agreement states that there is a minimum three-month service agreement for each product. The equipment remains the property of Medical Guardian. The monthly charge begins the day the customer receives the device. After the three-month period has expired, the contract will be automatically renewed unless either the customer or the company elects to terminate it. Customers who cancel after the three months are entitled to refund of any unused prepayments, provide the equipment is still in working order. If customers do not return the equipment, they are subject to a charge for it. The benefit of not owning the equipment is being able to have the newest gear available without having to pay a bunch for it.

    My father was moving into our lower level of our home and we knew we needed something for when he was alone and so I went online and look at different services and that’s would be a good match. Customer service didn’t offer me a product that I actually wanted and I didn’t find out about it until I already had purchased something else, so I was a little annoyed about that.     I found Medical Guardian online. We got my dad the medical bracelet that he wears. He is 90 years old and he’s having trouble getting around so we are afraid that he might fall and no one would be there to help him.     I contracted with Medical Guardian for my mother, who had broken her leg and just needed some short term piece of mind. The contract was initiated on 11/14/2016, even though the system was not received until 5 days later. It took an entire day for the company to trouble shoot a problem… wrong account number assigned to my mother… finally they got that straightened out. 3 months later, mom is doing fine and we no longer need the system. I called to cancel on 2/10. Contract expires on 2/14/2017. Was informed the system had to be returned by the 14th in order to not be charged for another 3 months. I sent it UPS. System was delivered (with documentation) on 2/13/2017. They STILL charged my credit card today. Once they get your number, they are extremely aggressive in marketing. When I was trying to decide on a company (and I called from my cell phone), they called ME at least every other day trying to sign me up. My mistake, I went with them. They’re great at phone calls, but their customer service leaves much to be desired. If I need a medical alert company in the future, I know the one I won’t go with!!

    I chose Medical Guardian because of the distance it covers. I live in a condo and my mailbox is about 300 feet from my front door. I went to the mailbox and pushed the alarm and it worked. I am confident if I would need help when out, help will be there!

    Do to the weather we received your product about 10 days after it was sent, but we understand that. We opened the box it came in and had trouble figuring out what we had. You sent 2 copies of a service contract we were told to make sure it was correct, it was, then we were to return it to you in an envelope you supposedly sent, but there was no envelope. I found a address which I hope was the right one and sent it off. We called the number to set up the machine but it was too late and need to call on Monday. There wasn’t any thing that explained what we received, hopefully we got some of it right.
