Every Medical Guardian medical alert system is identical in that they have a base station, a wearable emergency button, and provide two-way communication. Each system also has a backup battery that has a battery life of at least 24 hours. However, systems like the Mobile Guardian device operate on a cellular network that allows you to take the alert button and miniature base station anywhere.
Systems like the basic Classic Guardian operate on a landline connection and have an alert button that can be worn as a wristband or pendant. When the emergency button is activated, you're immediately put in contact with a representative at Medical Guardian's certified monitoring center. Here's a breakdown of each offered system:
This plan starts at $0.97 per day.
The Classic Guardian is the lowest priced package Medical Guardian offers. The medical alert system is meant to keep you safe in and around your home with a 1,300 range. The system connects to your landline phone and the medical alert device is a wearable waterproof button. The system includes a built-in speaker with two-way communication and power outage protection with a 32-hour backup battery.
This plan starts at $1.12 per day.
The Home Guardian is a wireless medical alert system that does not require a phone landline. The system works with a nationwide cellular network that gives you access to Medical Guardian's 24/7 monitoring center at any time. The system comes with a wearable medical alert button, which has a 600-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $2.58 per day.
The Family Guardian is meant to combine medical alert systems with activity monitoring. With three, in-home safety sensors, The Family Guardian keeps track of activity in the home each day. This is great for family members who want to check on their loved ones. The Family Guardian also comes with a mobile app that you can enable to send you instant notifications to your email or smartphone when one of the safety sensors detects a difference in your loved one's routine or when the help button is triggered. The Family Guardian includes a 1,300-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $1.61 per day.
The Mobile Guardian is a portable mobile medical alert system that functions on built-in GPS technology. This enables customers to use their medical alert devices outside of their home. The device includes a wearable button that has a 350-foot range from the device. The system has location tracking and two-way communication with an adjustable volume speaker.
This plan starts at $1.28 per day.
The Active Guardian is a portable medical alert system with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi technology. You can use this system at home or on-the-go since it functions on AT&T's cellular network. The system includes a wearable medical alert button, two-way communication, and location tracking with GPS.
This plan starts at $1.45 per day.
The Freedom Guardian is the only package that does not include free equipment. Because it is an advanced smartwatch, the Freedom Guardian requires a one-time equipment fee of $99. You can find more information regarding the smartwatch capabilities below under the section "The Freedom Guardian Medical Alert Watch."
In addition to a variety of package offerings, Medical Guardian also has accessories you can add to your plan for a small fee. Prices for each product vary, but here is a list of the offered accessories:
Every Medical Guardian alert system offers fall detection except for the Mobile Guardian system. Fall detection pendants are equipped with a sensor that is triggered any time a fall occurs, which then immediately sends a signal to Medical Guardian's monitoring center informing them of the emergency.
Members may cancel their Medical Guardian services at any point without charge. As opposed to companies such as Life Alert, you won't be locked into any long-term contracts with the expectation of buying out. This allows customers to try out Medical Guardian to see if it is the right medical alert provider for them.
Medical Guardian offers a lifetime warranty on all its products. If for some reason the equipment is damaged or malfunctions, Medical Guardian will replace it free of charge. Having free equipment and a lifetime warranty on all products ensures money for equipment never has to come out of the customer's pocket.
100% of Medical Guardian's central station monitoring center operators are certified and committed to CSAA's five points of excellence. This can provide peace of mind to medical alert owners knowing they can rely on Medical Guardian's services. Medical Guardian is also UL Listed, FM approved, and ESA Security certified.
Service monitoring is 24/7, and Medical Guardian's fall detection can detect a fall without any action from the individual, so you don't need to worry about calling for help, as your device will do so on its own. Every system also offers two-way communication so in the case of an emergency, you can talk directly to Medical Guardian's monitoring center that is available 24/7.
Medical Guardian's home-based medical alert system has a 1,300-foot range. This is a much larger range than most medical alert providers out there who only offer closer to 600–1,000 feet of coverage from the base station. Medical Guardian's long range gives medical alert users more freedom in how far they can travel away from the base station while still having full coverage in case of a fall or another emergency.
Medical Guardian's medical alert devices have a 120-hour battery life, which is one of the longest in the industry. Many medical alert companies have medical alert systems that only have 24-hour battery lives and need to be charged every night, which can be a pain if you want to wear the medical alert device while you sleep. Having a longer battery life ensures you have more coverage with less difficutly.
Medical Guardian has customer service representatives waiting to assist you whether you have questions about ordering equipment or if you are experiencing difficulty operating the system. Members have the ability to order online or by calling in, and there is an online support team prepared to answer any questions.

Medical Guardian’s monitoring center will keep your information on file and give emergency responders the details they need, including your exact location, your preferred hospital, any medications you’re taking, medical conditions you may have, etc.
Also, if it’s a non-emergency situation, Medical Guardian’s monitoring center can contact your listed caregiver to assist you rather than emergency responders.

The answer comes so quickly and if you need them. I did test it and it worked. What I dislike is the fact that it's very touchy so it can go off if you just brush it up against something.
I'm getting good follow-up and everything. It's gone off a couple of times and I don't know why, I gues I bumped or something so they are going to check it to see if it was set to loose or something. They've called me about three to four times since I've gotten it. They want to make sure i was alright.
We had some trouble because one of the pendants wasn't working so we had tosend it back and they had to send us a new pendant. But after that everything's been working okay. I appreciate the quickness that they got a new pendant over here.
They were very good at explaining it and what it does.
I like the safety of it. Very easy to use, I just love it. They answered all my questions, it was all very well explained and they were very patient with me.
I tested the device last week when my son hooked it up for me. They answered right away. It makes me feel safe having it.
I test it once a month. I like it because people can keep in touch.
It so handy; I put it on and haven't taken it off. I hit it accidentally one time and they immediately answered my call. I'll recommend it for anybody.
Well I never had to use it but I accidentally set it off a couple of times and they responded very quickly. They are very alert and any time I call them they are right there. It's a little big, but I guess that's necessary.
I feel secure having it with me I take it with me everywhere when I go to the mailbox I have it with me when I go anywhere I have it with me I feel so much better having it.
I've accidentally set it off and I get prompt response.
It's invaluable as far as I'm concerned. I fell the other morning and the paramedics were here within five minutes. Your operators stayed on the phone with me the whole time. It was a fantastic experience that had to happen.
Their calls are professional, but they are a little slow on their response time. I like that it's easy to carry. There's a time that there was almost a full minute delay, which is a long time. A lot of people die in three to five minutes but I don't think there's apparently anything else we can do to make it faster in your answering the call for help. The only thing that I don't like is that anytime I go out of the house I always have to take a little device with me that goes from my wrist to the device.
It takes too long to respond.
Hubert And Barbara
They were easy to work with and they were thorough and polite. I just like the fact that the device is convenient. When I tested it, it worked fine.
I used it in October and it worked but I fell yesterday and it did not go off when I fell. It takes a long time..if you're hurt it takes a long time for them to answer and then go through. It's too heavy. I wear it everyday.

Hi, Diane. Thank you for your review. We are so sorry that your device did not go off when you fell and hope that you are OK. We're going to send you a private message to collect account-specific information so that we can investigate this issue for you. Thank you.
Enormously easy to use. I love the suggestion they gave of putting my list of medications on the refrigerator and the key on the door lock so that if the paramedics come flying blind, this way they know exactly where to go I really like that. The only time I tested it was when I first got it I did it the way it
I like that it helps even though it's kind of uncomfortable. I can switch it around but you know you get tired of it after a while.
Always helpful. I have never use it but try to get in touch with them and takes a long time to answer the phone, same to me you know, you make system checked. I tested it about two weeks ago and you know it just took forever for me to answer the thing.
I think it's very good both the one for the wrist and the one around the neck. I like them very much. I did not have to use it yet. Thank goodness. I tested it to make sure it was working for me and you know both times they answered very well. They were very polite.
When I first got it, it was hard to turn it on but now it's going fine now.
It's a handy thing to have in an emergency since I'm alone. Well I like it because it's handy and I can wear it around my neck so I wear that all day. Then I put it on my night stand at night,so if I get up during the night I have it right next to me.
It's very reliable so far and I'm very happy.
I learned how to use it. And I like the security that it gives me if I fall.
It's way too heavy for the older person to carry around

Hi, Sara. Thank you for your review. We are sorry that you find the device to be too heavy. We do offer different products depending on your needs that you can view at www.medicalguardian.com. If you wish to switch to a different product, please contact Customer Care at 800-313-1191 for assistance. Thank you.
Medical Guardian seemed to be the most reliable. I've had medical alert systems for several years and this one seems to be every bit as good if not better than the others. They've always been very courteous and very prompt. The device has excellent quality. I actually I've only had to test it and it was answered very quickly, very promptly and that's what you wanted a device like this.
Very responsive. One time I called in and added another caller to my list and she was very helpful. When I tested it, they were very fast responding to my call. When I call in every month to check on and they're very responsive, very fast answering me. I haven't had to use it for actual emergency yet thank goodness.
They are very responsive. Testing was good. It's a good device and we're happy with it.
I haven't had to use the device but I did test it a couple of weeks ago and it worked very well. Being able to call somebody if I injured myself is a nice piece of mind. I think its great to be able to wear it around my neck and I have that available.
Very courteous, dependable. It's been tested a couple of times and it worked fine. It's easy to use, its reliable.
I haven't had it very long and I only have once mistakenly push on button when I was moving furniture. I have no complaints but I've had no experience yet. I wish it didn't blink because it makes people ask me questions that I don't want to answer.
The thing that I like best about it is that my family knows if I have a fall and I can get immediate help. They do exactly what they say they're going to do and they are there for you so you don't feel like you're all by yourself.
Every time I've tested it someone's been there and they answered my questions.
I like it, but its a little heavy.
It doesn't take up a lot of room and it doesn't cause me any difficulties.
I haven't really have to use it but the few times that I accidentally call them, they responded well. I like that it works in the shower. It's tested quite often but I never had to use it. When I'm working at the sink I sometimes lean against it and that presses the button and they call to see if everything is alright and I just feel silly that I have to tell them I'm fine. Ot's just a stupid mistake but so far it's been great.
It's just there and most of the time it's comfortable I haven't needed it but I test it and it worked.
Convenience. I like the wrist band to a very high degree. Fortunately we haven't had a time to use it. With testing, it works well.
It was very easy to sign up and I feel like the the rates in terms are very reasonable. My dad inadvertently used at once and the people were very kind and considerate in responding to the need but we've not needed to use it yet. I like the fact that its easy and there are 2 forms of notification.
When we push the button, the guy answered so I guess it's good. I hate wearing the thing around my neck everyday, but I do it because my daughter in law is paying if you wanna know the truth. The wrist one doesn't fit me well so.
They are really prompt, right on target. For safety, it's very convenient.
I've tested it and immedaiately they call in so I know it's working. They don't seem to have good communication between each other. Like I got a letter that said I needed to set up my system, but I had already setit up. So they need to get their act together in the sense that they need to communicate better between the different departmenst so they don't look foolish.
It's convenient and the security of knowing that at the push of a button things will happen. It's a good device. They've been very courteous and it's a good product.
It's easy to set up and easy to test and they were actually able to speak with someone. When we tested it we actually went down to the basement and we were able to go all the way up to the top floor in the back of the house so it's got really great signal. Every time I've called and talked to them, they've been very helpful.
When my husband was alive, we had to call because he fell. They sent people out here to help immediately, so it works. They answered promptly when I needed them and they have improved the necklace part.
When we were testing the unit, they respoded right away and every time we have a quetsion there's no problem.
It's very good. You can hear it clearly. I've tested about 3 times and each time it went nicely. They're reliable; it works every time and they immediately know where I was.
It's convenient and easy to work with. The customer service is very friendly and very helpful.
It's fine and small to carry around. I don't use it much.
I have tested it and it works fine. I enjoyed having them.
