Every Medical Guardian medical alert system is identical in that they have a base station, a wearable emergency button, and provide two-way communication. Each system also has a backup battery that has a battery life of at least 24 hours. However, systems like the Mobile Guardian device operate on a cellular network that allows you to take the alert button and miniature base station anywhere.
Systems like the basic Classic Guardian operate on a landline connection and have an alert button that can be worn as a wristband or pendant. When the emergency button is activated, you're immediately put in contact with a representative at Medical Guardian's certified monitoring center. Here's a breakdown of each offered system:
This plan starts at $0.97 per day.
The Classic Guardian is the lowest priced package Medical Guardian offers. The medical alert system is meant to keep you safe in and around your home with a 1,300 range. The system connects to your landline phone and the medical alert device is a wearable waterproof button. The system includes a built-in speaker with two-way communication and power outage protection with a 32-hour backup battery.
This plan starts at $1.12 per day.
The Home Guardian is a wireless medical alert system that does not require a phone landline. The system works with a nationwide cellular network that gives you access to Medical Guardian's 24/7 monitoring center at any time. The system comes with a wearable medical alert button, which has a 600-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $2.58 per day.
The Family Guardian is meant to combine medical alert systems with activity monitoring. With three, in-home safety sensors, The Family Guardian keeps track of activity in the home each day. This is great for family members who want to check on their loved ones. The Family Guardian also comes with a mobile app that you can enable to send you instant notifications to your email or smartphone when one of the safety sensors detects a difference in your loved one's routine or when the help button is triggered. The Family Guardian includes a 1,300-foot range from the base station.
This plan starts at $1.61 per day.
The Mobile Guardian is a portable mobile medical alert system that functions on built-in GPS technology. This enables customers to use their medical alert devices outside of their home. The device includes a wearable button that has a 350-foot range from the device. The system has location tracking and two-way communication with an adjustable volume speaker.
This plan starts at $1.28 per day.
The Active Guardian is a portable medical alert system with built-in GPS and Wi-Fi technology. You can use this system at home or on-the-go since it functions on AT&T's cellular network. The system includes a wearable medical alert button, two-way communication, and location tracking with GPS.
This plan starts at $1.45 per day.
The Freedom Guardian is the only package that does not include free equipment. Because it is an advanced smartwatch, the Freedom Guardian requires a one-time equipment fee of $99. You can find more information regarding the smartwatch capabilities below under the section "The Freedom Guardian Medical Alert Watch."
In addition to a variety of package offerings, Medical Guardian also has accessories you can add to your plan for a small fee. Prices for each product vary, but here is a list of the offered accessories:
Every Medical Guardian alert system offers fall detection except for the Mobile Guardian system. Fall detection pendants are equipped with a sensor that is triggered any time a fall occurs, which then immediately sends a signal to Medical Guardian's monitoring center informing them of the emergency.
Members may cancel their Medical Guardian services at any point without charge. As opposed to companies such as Life Alert, you won't be locked into any long-term contracts with the expectation of buying out. This allows customers to try out Medical Guardian to see if it is the right medical alert provider for them.
Medical Guardian offers a lifetime warranty on all its products. If for some reason the equipment is damaged or malfunctions, Medical Guardian will replace it free of charge. Having free equipment and a lifetime warranty on all products ensures money for equipment never has to come out of the customer's pocket.
100% of Medical Guardian's central station monitoring center operators are certified and committed to CSAA's five points of excellence. This can provide peace of mind to medical alert owners knowing they can rely on Medical Guardian's services. Medical Guardian is also UL Listed, FM approved, and ESA Security certified.
Service monitoring is 24/7, and Medical Guardian's fall detection can detect a fall without any action from the individual, so you don't need to worry about calling for help, as your device will do so on its own. Every system also offers two-way communication so in the case of an emergency, you can talk directly to Medical Guardian's monitoring center that is available 24/7.
Medical Guardian's home-based medical alert system has a 1,300-foot range. This is a much larger range than most medical alert providers out there who only offer closer to 600–1,000 feet of coverage from the base station. Medical Guardian's long range gives medical alert users more freedom in how far they can travel away from the base station while still having full coverage in case of a fall or another emergency.
Medical Guardian's medical alert devices have a 120-hour battery life, which is one of the longest in the industry. Many medical alert companies have medical alert systems that only have 24-hour battery lives and need to be charged every night, which can be a pain if you want to wear the medical alert device while you sleep. Having a longer battery life ensures you have more coverage with less difficutly.
Medical Guardian has customer service representatives waiting to assist you whether you have questions about ordering equipment or if you are experiencing difficulty operating the system. Members have the ability to order online or by calling in, and there is an online support team prepared to answer any questions.
Medical Guardian has a new high-tech medical alert device that is a smartwatch for seniors called The Freedom Guardian. This new medical alert watch is designed to be sleek and convenient to wear every day. The Freedom Guardian doesn't need a base unit to connect to, and you can wear it with you anywhere you go.
Caregivers or family members can download the Companion mobile app to communicate with Freedom Guardian wearers at any time as well as track their current location.
The Freedom Guardian has various features to aid your health and safety as well as additional perks. Here are a few of the Freedom Guardian features to be aware of:
**Free equipment offer does not include the Freedom Guardian system.
While Medical Guardian does offer some of the best equipment and services in the industry, there are still some aspects of their service that require additional attention prior to purchasing. Medical Guardian does not offer an emergency device combo package at this time. This means that consumers will not be able to group multiple items together to receive a discounted rate.

How is Medical Guardian’s medical alert service different than calling 9-1-1?
In emergencies, you don’t always have access to a phone. Having a medical alert system means you can request help at any time with the press of a button. Medical alert services also make sure emergency responders have the necessary information they need to best assist you—information you may be unable to provide in an emergency situation. Medical Guardian’s monitoring center will keep your information on file and give emergency responders the details they need, including your exact location, your preferred hospital, any medications you’re taking, medical conditions you may have, etc.
Also, if it’s a non-emergency situation, Medical Guardian’s monitoring center can contact your listed caregiver to assist you rather than emergency responders.
They are very quick to respond and very pleasant. I find them very trustworthy. They were right on the phone asking if everything is okay and were very polite. The device is easy to use but a little big.
The quality is very good. I like the accessibility it provides. The response was very quick. It is quite effective. It gives our family confidence that mom is taken care of. They're very understanding and professional.
It's very good and I also appreciate that there's GPS so I can use anywhere in the country. It's very easy to use and the battery stays charged nicely and the response time is very quick and professional. It is very convenient. I would say it is definitely worth it.
They are very good. I have tested it several times and it always works. I like the safety of it.
I like it in general but I don't like that you have to be near the receptor.
Someone is right there if I need it and trying to hear and understand. They are there when I need them. It's a really good price.
They always answer and the buttons seem to work well. The only issue is you have to be within a certain distance, if you're too far away you can't hear what they say so that is tricky.
The necklace with it is kind of bulky but everything else is fine.
Everything seems to be fine, I am satisfied with it. The time I tested it, the clear response was almost immediate.
Paid for 6 months of services that never worked. Still waiting on refund from October and I called and they said they lost my equipment in the warehouse and never posted that they received it. Yet the tracking said they did. I feel as if they scam the elderly. I would give them a negative star if they had it
I have the the one around my neck the necklace and I find that very convenient.
So far we've been quite satisfied with it.
I like that you are not stuck to the house and you can go out. I tested it and the operator answered right away. He was kind, fast, and knowledgeable.
The only dislike my wife has is the wristband seems to not be comfortable so she wears the one around her neck. We haven't had any problems with it. It seems to work well. We are satisfied.
I always take it when I go anywhere away from home. The only thing I don't like about it is you have to carry that little thing with you if you go away from home.
I wear it all the time in the house. It's very simple and functional. I tested it when I first got it. The response was very rapid.
When it was purchased we didn't know that it did not work when you fell. When we had this fall with it. They didn't respond. It seems like I have to charge it more than what the paper said. I have to charge it every night.
Easy and convenient. It works wonderfully.
When I tested it it was very loud. Then somebody came on the line and asked me if I needed help. They've answered my questions and been there when I tested it. I like the safety of having it on all the time.
If anything happens I can call for help immediately. The person on line was extremely professional and I just appreciate how the test was handled.
It's small and portable. All I have to do is recharge it and wear the wrist watch when I go out. One time it was running low and the agent on the phone asked if everything was alright and I said yes I just have to charge it.
I like the system but the product is so poorly designed and very flimsy. It broke and I can see why you want insurance on the product. I'm extremely disappointed in the quality of the product because it guarantees it's going to break again and I've had it for such a short time.

Sometimes I hit it by mistake and they are very nice about it. Everytime I call them for something they help me no matter what. They respond quickly and they help me out.
It's very convenient. I can take a shower with it on.
It's a good company. They are very efficient and send the equipment out right away.
My mother in law really likes the watch. She doesn't want to wear the necklace but the watch she keeps on all the time. We tested it when we first set it up following the test procedures. Customer support answered all my questions.
It works for a period of time when the power goes out. It has a nice big button to push and she has a wrist band she can carry. We've tested it and got rapid response from the operator.
They've always been nice. I can take it anywhere with me and I like that.
It's good to have it because I'm by myself now. I tested it and they were very good.
It's always worked good. They're very alert and on top of thing and do a good job we just don't need it anymore. They wont answer me or call me back when I need to talk to someone in customer service.
What I like about it is that I can wear it and always have it if I need it. I tested it when it first arrived. It was easy to test and working fine.
I like everything about it so far. I've tested it and I got an answer immediately. The fellow that answered was very knowledgeable.
They helped me get it set up but I don't know if they follow through and check up. I don't know how it works. I just wish they called and checked on you to know if your system is working.
I like they guy that sold it to me. He was real nice. I don't like that it has to be charged.

Thank you for your review!
I've only tested it so far. I haven't had any issues. The response was quick. I hit my button today when I was away from the house and when they didn't get a response at the house they called my phone which I really appreciate them doing rather than just sending out an emergency response.
The arm one is plastic so it kind of sticks to your arm.
We tested it the night we got it and everything was coming in perfect. I would like for it to beep if I go outside my 350ft around my house without my battery charger.
It's convenient. I tested it just the other day and it works fine.
I've only used it once but they did a very good job. It worked well. I called them because I needed a way to get to the emergency room and they were very good about it.
When we tested it it was answered right away.
It's convenient. We tested it. Everything's working well.
I've only had it a short time, but I like the GPS feature.
I had a good experience the one time I had to use it. My mother was unable to get up and she called medical guardian and they called me so I was able to take care of her.
I was connected when they checked it. The product is convenient.
The wristband is terrible. It needs a regular wristband instead of this rubber but other than that it's alright. I wore my neck thing for a month then tested it and it wasn't working. They sent me a new one but now I'm rather wary of the whole thing. It takes customer support way too long to answer the phone if I've pushed the button. It's probably about 3 minutes but that's too long as far as I'm concerned.

Hello Bernice, thank you for your review. Your feedback and concerns are very important to us. We're going to send you a private message requesting your contact details and account-specific information so we can investigate your issue. Thank you!
It's handy and it works right away. Last week my husband fell and I was sleeping upstairs. He called out and I couldn't hear him so he pushed the button and they called me right away. I called the ambulance to come pick him up. He wasn't hurt he had just fallen. So that was very convenient.
It works - that's what I know. And I can live my normal life. When we tried it, it worked beautifully, so they know where I am.
We tested it when we first got it and it didn't work but customer service got it up and running for us in no time. It was convenient and easy and the people were good to work with. It's on my wrist and I wear it everyday. It's waterproof.
I dislike the charging unit. The lights aren't consistent. This morning I had a flashing light after it had been charged for 9 hours. The rest of it seems to be fine.
I hit it once by mistake and within 10 minutes the police were here. I tried to cancel it but the device didn't hear me. I had trouble hooking it up but customer service helped me through it and it only took a little bit.
