Systems

Every Medical Guardian medical alert system is identical in that they have a base station, a wearable emergency button, and provide two-way communication. Each system also has a backup battery that has a battery life of at least 24 hours. However, systems like the Mobile Guardian device operate on a cellular network that allows you to take the alert button and miniature base station anywhere. Systems like the basic Classic Guardian operate on a landline connection and have an alert button that can be worn as a wristband or pendant. When the emergency button is activated, you're immediately put in contact with a representative at Medical Guardian's certified monitoring center. 

Automatic Fall Detection

Every Medical Guardian alert system offers fall detection except for the Mobile Guardian system. Fall detection pendants are equipped with a sensor that is triggered any time a fall occurs, which then immediately sends a signal to Medical Guardian's monitoring center informing them of the emergency. 

No Long-Term Contracts

Members may cancel their Medical Guardian services at any point without charge. my watch needed to be "rebooted" too often to keep it working. Then it was determined there was not enough coverage where I live for it to work as advertised.

It was difficult to set up. My neighbor has a competitive product and it was much more simple to set up. Also you have limited west coast hours on the weekend. Finally, we have not yet needed to use the service so it's difficult to make a fair evaluation

My mother's only complaint is that when she accidentally sets off her alarm, there is not sufficient time to answer the phone to tell you it was a false alarm. The fire department shows up before she has a chance to call you back.

Have not yet needed to make an emergency call. I did call to "test" the device after about a month of service. Once I activated the device, the response was prompt(less than 1minute). I feel less guilt and stress about leaving my mother inside while I work in the yard. She feels less anxiety about be alone.

Its inconvenient to carry the speaker around with me, but I still prefer this to wear the heavier option around my neck all the time. Also, I wasn't aware there would be another charge if we wanted the service option. That should have been discussed by the sales rep. as it is part of the product cost.

At this point in time, I don't have much to say, since I have had my Medical Guardian for only 8 weeks. Fortunately, I have not had to use it, except to check if it is working properly with the main office. My ratings, therefore, being based on very limited experience, are neither the lowest nor the highest. In time, they may change.

Hard sell once first call is placed. They call back frequently. Product works as stated. Easy setup. Had some problems getting all options shipped as a package but they offered good customer service when contacted.

It took a little time to set up, but I have now tested it. Maybe a little longer response that from 911, but they did respond and they have all the info on what to do. Happy, so far.
