While Medical Guardian does offer some of the best equipment and services in the industry, there are still some aspects of their service that require additional attention prior to purchasing.

  • Initial Service Agreement: While there is no contract with Medical Guardian, there is a minimum three-month (90-day) service agreement. Medical Guardian asks that consumers try their service for at least three months before canceling. If a consumer decides they do not want to wait three months to cancel, consumers may do so. However, Medical Guardian will keep the 90-day minimum charge and consumers will then receive money back for any remaining portion of the service charges they did not use. This is not ideal for those who want to test Medical Guardian for one month, but cancellation is still possible.
  • No Combo Package: Medical Guardian does not offer a combo package at this time. This means that consumers will not be able to group multiple items together to receive a discounted rate.

The Bottom Line

How much does Medical Guardian Cost?

Medical Guardian has four products that vary in price. Here is a price breakdown of each product:

  • Classic Guardian: $29.95/month
  • Home Guardian: $34.95/month

Is there a contract?

There are no long-term contracts for any of the products. However, part of the customer agreement states that there is a minimum three-month service agreement for each product. The equipment remains the property of Medical Guardian. The monthly charge begins the day the customer receives the device. After the three-month period has expired, the contract will be automatically renewed unless either the customer or the company elects to terminate it. Customers who cancel after the three months are entitled to refund of any unused prepayments, provide the equipment is still in working order. If customers do not return the equipment, they are subject to a charge for it. The benefit of not owning the equipment is being able to have the newest gear available without having to pay a bunch for it.

    I ordered this alert for my son, who was recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. The only problem he had was he would just move or reach for something and the alarm would go off. He soon became agitated with it, so I figured the only thing on this unit that could be at fault was the “fall detection”. I called the company, went over the situation with them, they agreed. We cancelled the “fall detection” alert. For those who are ordering this unit, please just be aware the fall detection is really for those people who really are going to be falling quite a bit. For him, I ordered it because if he went into a diabetic seizure or coma and would fall, it would go off and alert someone. But it’s really not for that. The fall detection is MORE for an unsteady person (someone who’s had a stroke, or heart attack, etc.) who would be more apt to fall at any given time during a day, NOT for someone who is just going through their daily routine of chores or work. I hope anyone reading this can see the difference that it makes. If the unit alert goes off without reason, it’s the fall detection dong it.

    When I test it every month, the people that answer have been very courteous, very thorough and made sure that nothing was wrong. I purchased it for my parents because they’re elderly now, and both had strokes already. I know that if something goes wrong, they would call the emergency services. Plus, it’s very easy to use, and if they can’t get a hold of them, I get a phone call right away so I can go check on them. It helps me sleep at night, and it allows me to be at work without having to worry about my parent’s wellbeing.

    Unfortunately, I have Parkinson’s disease. After several falls, my wife and I decided I needed it, and it’s worked just fine so far. If you ask me about the representatives, I would say they were great! They explained everything and were very helpful. They told me how everything works, and explained the key box and how to test it. They’re just very well and very professional. I was very happy with them. I think they’re better than any others that I talked to, and I like the fact that all of their operatives are here in the US, so that was good to hear.
