They either deny every claim I put in or they delay, sending somebody out by literally 3+ weeks so I end up just hiring somebody myself! They claim they can’t find a technician in my area, but I live in a large city, so if they can’t find technicians in my big city, I can’t imagine how they find providers in smaller areas!

I've been a customer for over 2 years. I am still waiting for a check they owe me for replacing my microwave. We had a plumbing issue that took months to resolve. They had me repair a 20yr old microwave at least 2 times. I will not be renewing our policy.

They denied my claim based off past issues and not existing issues. They didn’t get a second opinion. When I paid out of pocket it ending up being an easy fix. When I had my appeal meeting the person I was talking too didn’t have the right info and started talking about thing in my inspection report that had nothing to do with the claim. It was very unorganized and to top off I was out of a kitchen sink for 3 weeks waiting on them. Never again!

on my second time using my new policy I was told that the garage door opener belt, which was broken. It’s not covered because it is not regular wear and tear even though the technician that came out and charged me $100 noted that it is normal wear and tear. Will not be renewing my policy.

It took over a month to get out A/C fixed, due to continuous vendor delays, lack of communication on all sides, and eventually required to pay over $1K in non-covered items, that are listed as covered in the top tier plan. No one could give a list or invoice of those items. We felt like we're held hostage and agreed to pay to avoid pushing into the 5th week (in TX summer, 2 of the weeks the temps were 100-109°F daily!)

I had a water heater issue which needed to be replaced per the vendor who assessed it. Despite approval by HWA, it’s took over 3 weeks with constant back to back between the vendor and HWA. The case managers do not respond to emails or pick up calls while their call center which is outside the country appears unable to help. I will seriously reconsider my renewal with them. Of note, I ended up paying for a new heater and seeking a refund from them, which they refunded only 50% of the cost.

If they do cover the appliance that is broken it takes a month for someone to come. If it cost to much they will give you a egift card to buy a new appliance however it isn't for the full amount and it takes another 30 days to get it.

It's been over 6 days, and we still do not have a technician out at our house. They are not able to locate a vendor or a technician that can come to our home. So we have offered the name of a company that's out of network with the name, the phone number, and the name of the technician and Home Warranty has declined. So we still do not have a technician at our house after 6 days. They say that the current policy only allows you to use one out-of-network vendor every 12 months. We've already done that once, but yet they still cannot provide us with a vendor after 6 days.

I had no heat. When the temperature here was zero, I waited 4 days for somebody to get back to me, and I had no heat in my house and we're in our late 60s. And I just moved here 3 months ago, so I bought a house but now was in this repair and waiting 4 days was unacceptable. Then when the person came, they had to leave and evaluate the situation. So I was still without heat. My warranty will be up in July and I would never recommend it. I'm telling the realtors to not use it either, it's not a perk, and it doesn't help the new homeowner at all.

Recently I was scamned by HWA. They made me pay a double deductible by splitting into two one claim without talking to me first. I made an e l ectrical claim and after the technician told them the cost involved, they decided to split the claim into 2 to force me to pay 2 separate deductible in irder for me to pay 2/3 of the total cost. Too bad.

terrible. they schedule appointments that is not consistent with the appointments that the 3rd party service provider had scheduled (multiple times). Appointments then get cancelled without me knowing about it and have to reschedule all over again. They also wont get me a technician for several days after an incident has occurred (on multiple claims) The level of communication just really sucks

Home Warranty of America service is very slow. They do not accept priority or emergency calls. I had a hot water heater that went out and it was out for more than a week. I ended up having to purchase my own hot water heater and have it installed myself I will not be renewing, my service with Home Warranty of America when it expires.
