I had 3 different AC companies come out for the same thing. First they approved a new unit then the company did not want to do the job so a new company came out and we had to start from the beginning. Second company made an excuse they could not access the air handler. 3rd company came out and they replaced the R22 compressor with a new one and the contractor used the wrong freon which now ruined the whole system. The warranty company admitted the fault but would not take responsibility for THEIR contractor. If you Google the contractor you see he was arrested for swallowing bags of marijuana to elude capture. Great people they have coming to your home. I presented at their request estimates to replace the unit which was $7400. They only wanted to pay $2880. With much threats they finally agreed to $$4850. In the beginning they wanted me to pay for modifications when is clearly states in my contract that I paid for a contract that included modification. STAY AWAY, their goal is not to pay but to rather to things the cheap way.

I've had a frustrating experience with customer service. Communication has been poor, and I'm still waiting for my refrigerator to be fixed after a month. I paid out of pocket for a technician who suggested getting a new fridge due to hard-to-find parts. They tried to use used parts, which the technician refused to install. I'm still without a fridge.

I found the service easy to use and efficient. They were prompt in addressing my garage door opener issue, showing up just a couple of days after I reached out. I usually rely on my warranty when appliances break down, like with my washing machine and dishwasher, and this experience reaffirmed that choice.

I had mixed experiences with service calls. Initially, I struggled to get through to anyone, but it improved recently. After multiple visits from a less competent technician who only replaced parts, I finally got a reputable GE technician who fixed my refrigerator. The plumbing service was prompt and satisfactory. Overall, some technicians need improvement.

I've had mixed experiences with customer service. They respond quickly, but often just provide information that's already online without much help. I had a leak fixed, which was great, but I've also faced repeated issues with my microwave despite multiple visits. Overall, I appreciate the promptness but feel the effectiveness could improve.

I've been without a refrigerator for a month due to poor communication from customer support. After paying for a technician to assess the issue, I was told the parts would be hard to find, and when they did locate some, they were used. The technician refused to install them. I'm still waiting for my air conditioner to be installed as well. Very disappointed with the service.

I've had a frustrating experience with my home warranty provider. Despite years of service, getting issues resolved has become increasingly difficult since the company changed hands. Communication is a challenge, and I've had multiple visits for repairs that remain unresolved. The service feels unreliable, and I find the fees unreasonable. Overall, I'm disappointed.

I had a terrible experience with customer service. They misled me about my policy upgrade and gave me the runaround without any real answers. I also had issues with my water heater replacement; they didn't provide what was promised and charged me more than expected. When my AC broke, they refused necessary repairs, forcing me to pay out of pocket. Overall, very disappointing service.

I contacted the company regarding an issue with my dishwasher. A technician came to assess the problem and informed me that he would need to return with spare parts to complete the repair. However, when I tried to get an update on when he would be back, I was told that the parts were difficult to obtain and that it would take time. When I reached out to HWOA to see if the process could be expedited through another provider, I was suddenly sent a rejection message, stating that the issue was due to physical damage. This conclusion was drawn solely because the part is difficult to obtain! I contacted the technician company again, and they confirmed in writing that the technician's initial report was incorrect. The damage to the dishwasher is due to normal usage, not physical damage. It feels like the customer has no one to talk to, and no one is willing to listen or resolve the issue. Ultimately, I, as the customer, am at a loss simply because the spare part is hard to get! The poor customer service and the lack of anyone to address my concerns is why I will not recommend this insurance company to any of my friends!

I've never had a problem over the last 6-7 years as a customer. I heard HWA was bought out. I'm not sure if that's the case but something has changed. My HVAC had an issue. The tech comes and says what needs to be replace. HWA only wants to cover 1 of the 2 parts because they say it was secondary damage. Actually I was told by a manager that he was have denied the whole claim. I said how do you know you have an issue until it happens and how do you know what is wrong into the tech comes to look at it. How is it my fault a second part failed due to the first one. He said I don't disagree but that's how the plan is. I have the best plan HWA offers and I'm still out about $300. I'm about ready to just cancel my policy after this.

I wish I could have selected NO STARS. They are glad to take your money and sign you up for a home warranty, but then deny you on your one and only claim. We specifically told the sales representative that the three items in the home that we were concerned about were the AC Unit, the Furnace and the Hot Water tank as they were older, but were all currently working fine. She said no problem and signed us up. The Hot Water tank started to leak shortly after purchasing the policy, called the representative who said to start a claim! We did! The claim was denied! They said it was because the hot water tank had rust in it, so that was a pre-existing condition. My response was “All hot water tanks would have rust in them, no matter how old they were. Rust exists to certain degree on any tank! They refused to cover it! So not am I out the initial premium, but also the $100 deductible that I had to pay the plumber who came out to assist with the claim! RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS BOGUS COMPANY!

I started a claim and was having an issue with the repair company that was sent to my home. It took several complaints before my daughter had to take over the situation to get anyone to hear my concerns and assist me. I am 8 days shy of a month since I started my claim with no resolution. I am hoping the new repair company provides better service and actually communicates and completes my repair.

Since I have had HWA, I have filed 5 claims. They paid me $700 for a $2,000 oven, a top of the line microwave and a dishwasher. I still have the broken oven (I bought a toaster oven and put it on the kitchen counter. I bought a cheap microwave to replace the built-in one they refused to fix.) I had to buy a new dishwaher. They finally did fix the last claim I made, the furnace. I'm not happy with them, they say they can't fix things because they're too old. They just deny.

I would give zero stars if it was an option. I filed a claim for a leak in my washing machine and other issues came up in the time it took for the technician to come out. When I first called in to ask about this, I was told to add it to the same claim so the information was recorded. Since this was my first time using a home warranty policy, I did not know I had to specifically record every single issue and that the technician would include all of their findings in their report. Later I was told that because this information was not included in my original claim for the same appliance, I was told I needed to file a separate claim (which would come with an additional fee) for them to look into it further. I was then told that they would have the technician look into the second issue the next time they were at my property; the technician who came to my property twice, told me twice about the issue both times stating that it was his recommendation to make the repair, but Home Warranty of America is stating that they do not have any information indicating a problem about this specific issue. However, they will not provide me with the technicians report to actually show this. They also backtracked to indicate that the issue they did repair was not actually covered, but they did as a courtesy (they also offered me a small amount of money for it if I wanted to purchase a new machine instead, which doesn't sound like something you do as a "courtesy") which was never mentioned the entire time and only communicated after the repair was done. Clearly this company does not have any integrity since they continue to actively lie to me and I don't know why I bothered to get a policy at all.

Well the last time i had to use the services i was sent a apprentice electrician and he couldn't figured out what was wrong I ended up telling him not to worry about it and send him on his way after i paid the $100. But Not only did he did not solved the issues he actually disconected, somehow, my pool lights and couldn't get them working again. Yep i had to bring a real electrician and paid him $650 to fix what he messed up plus the original issue.

Well, I have called you several times for my freezer (which is still not fixed). I called for my Fridge flapper which was fixed but now the flapper is not working again. You are quick to get the service fee for each time but you don't really fix the problem. You also were supposed to refund a charge bc the specific worker from manufacturer wasn't available and that has not gone thru. Very disappointing.

I’ve had a broken washer for a month and instead of just replacing it, Home Warranty of America spent triple the money of a new washer just for this washer to continue being broke after every time it’s “repaired”. Horrible experience so far and sick of being dragged along this long without being able to do our laundry in our home. The poor repair guys are telling me it’s not fixable but refusing to tell that to Home Warranty of America because then Home Warranty of America will refuse to pay them and obviously they want to get paid. So here we are just stuck in the middle unable to wash our clothes.

Any time that I complain about the people not showing up when they're supposed to, they fix the problem. I used it for plumbing. They came out, they took my money $75. They never called me back to fix the problem. Two weeks later, I waited to give them to be patient, I called Home Warranty, and they said "We are so sorry, we're gonna send somebody out and you're not going to have to pay the $75." And so they sent somebody out and they fixed it immediately. That's excellent.

I’ve paid HWA for years before using Them for a claim. This past warranty was for my washer and dryer. The washer has a broken wash tub. HWA won’t cover it. They covered the dryer so far but the appliance company has to come back yet. I hope it doesn’t have another part that HWA won’t pay for. The only other repair that i put a claim in for was for my 50+ year old electric stove that had multiple issues. The repairman said that he asked HWA to replace the stove. HWA refused. I still have a back burner that had collapsed. HWA refused to repair so I still cannot use that. I wish I could recommend HWA. At least their repair people are decent

Due to inflexibility in meeting client needs. I had my water heater in my home go out during a cold snap, and I was unable to get a technician until 6 days after the initial claim was filed. Once the technician did come out, the technician provided all the Information about the water heater. Home Warranty of America and the technician were unable to come to terms meeting with each other, and Home Warranty of America required the process to restart and was gonna take another 48 hours after that which was now 9 days into me filing the claim to get another technician out there. I would have had to pay another service charge and then continue dealing with them in order to get the water heater replaced. It would have likely been more than 2 weeks before the appliance was replaced. While I had no hot water in 5 degree temperatures.

I don’t think any of the warranty companies are worth the money. Every time I’ve had to use them it’s been a disappointment because they don’t really cover that much. If you do get e replacement it’s always a cheap brand and the company showing up has poor reviews. Remember you get what you pay for. Better off putting that money into a savings account to use when needed.

We have a toilet broken in our house right now it's been broken for about a month. We've been trying to get the company to come out to fix it. There is some discrepancy between what the home warranty wants to pay and what the company thinks they should pay. The company was supposed to come today. They didn't show up, so we still have a broken toilet. Last year we had a broken HVAC system. We had it temporarily recharged with Freon, so they wouldn't fix it until it broke again in exactly the same way this year. It was leaking Freon, so we got to pay twice.

I had a claim about plumbing work, it was misdocumented by Home Warranty of America. The plumbing company that selected the job came and collected the $75 and took off. No report was submitted to the home warranty. The claim was stuck, not moving forward at all. I called to follow up the customer service said 5 different things. Once they said they would reimburse me my deductible amount. Another time they said they will close the claim if no report was completed within 3 days. I called after 3 days to alert the home warranty to either escalate the problem or close the claim. So I can find another company if possible and pay out of pocket and get reimbursed. The home warranty refused this method because they're an assigned technician. Although they didn't do anything. It's claim no. 4 now, same minor plumbing work order that is being postponed and played over and over.

First claim. Took three weeks to get resolved. I had to call several, and the only way I was able to talk to someone I could actually understand or who could answer my questions was to tell the foreign customer service representative that I wanted to report him and/or cancel my policy. Then, only the repair was done. The damage the unresolved problem caused is on me. Thanks for all the headaches. Hopefully, you will do better next time.

Recently had a kitchen faucet problem. It needed a hose replacement. Couldn't find the part. Paid $100 for the service call and another $100 to install a new faucet and another $180 for a new faucet. I thought if the part is unavailable then the insurance would install a new faucet at no extra cost. I believe all those costs were not necessary. What good is having insurance???
