I love the security of having the plan my only issue is, some issues there is a long lead time and repairs require approval and it is not fun to go with out a refrigerator for almost two weeks.

Some of the contractors did a good job however some of them did not and I had to call back to get work done correctly. One company had to come out 3 times to do a repair on my dryer.not only did they scratch up my floor, after they left the next day the same problem came back..

We had them check out two appliances. They do everything they can to put a band aid on it so they don't have to replace it. In the end we bypassed them and made the purchase on our own. Our AC unit was going out. We had it looked at professionally ourselves and was told it needed replaced. The warranty had someone look at it and they said it needed replaced. The warranty had another person, a one man company, and said it needed cleaned. That's what they went with. Rather than pay $350 for a cleaning, another service fee for them to come look at it, and then another $500 for the warranty, we just purchased a new furnace ourselves. It wasn't worth the hassle to keep putting a band aid on it.

When I first bought the house I had two minor fixes. My next renewal the premium was raised. I haven't had an issue since. I have not had premium decrease in 3 years. I really don't think that is fair with a used home purchase to have this held against me.

Taking to long to get a simple job done. They made a mistake on the diagnosis and it has been down hill from there. It has taken me 2 weeks to get this straight and I have talked to 5 people from there and still nothing is done.

I have paid insurance premiums to American Home Warranty, totaling well over $4,000 but have never had to file a claim. Until something happens, I will have no basis to rate them on. They’re good at collecting payments, if I file a claim, we’ll see how good they are then.

They need to be more open about the coverage. We had a plumbing issues and they sent a plumber asap, great! But they don't tell you that if it's outside the foundation it's not covered!

Well they seem like a good company when you have a problem. It is easy to fill out a form either over the phone or in the website, however there is generally no follow through and they still haven't fixed my heater since probably January at this point. Oh by the way I love in the north east. I hope they fix it by next winter at this rate. They used to be better last year they fixed a few issues really quick. Not sure what changed but hopefully they can get there stuff together.

Coverage is good and bad sometimes. We had a 17 year old heat and air unit that First American would not cover as they said that it quite because of abuse not age or normal wear and tear. I think 17 years is old for a unit!

Overall I would say they've done a pretty good job. They've acted pretty quick and within a day you have whatever repairs done. Most of the time all the expenses were covered by the warranty.

Customer service is not really that helpful. When I call First American, I have to wait for a long time. I have to wait until they get a contractor and I think older people and people with kids should be a priority and they don't do that. I am getting what I paid for.
