Was misled from start, a scam in my opinion. Will not cover 100% if repair. Took 5 days and still no service call and I had to get someone out here and they did not pay difference of service fee plus they called it a reimbursement when they could not honor the 24-48 hour guarantee in contract. Will be cancelling after I receive my reimbursement check just to pay cost of a water heater replacement. Their so called hidden replacement cost guide that they pay for appliance repairs or replacement is not available to us to see...bunch of BS and finally their Customer service personnel can can't speak english well enough to understand, had to get to a case manager before I could clearly communicate with them. Took 5 days for them to get a tech iut for sump pump failure disregarding the water in my basement and would not allow me to get a local company out quickly or I would have ti pay the total cost.... Beware of this company total scam artists

Very slow and disorganized to resolve the claim on my front loader washer. Took a month to determine approval of a replacement. They were disingenuous when they sent an email offering the choice of a Lowe’s gift card for $547 or a replacement by Choice which could take longer than if I took the low value gift card and handled the replacement myself. When I searched the internet for prices of front loader washers, I determined that none of the leading manufacturers sold any of their appliances for less than $698 so I denied the gift card and asked to be assigned to a representative. I called the assigned claims representative to discuss Choice doing the replacement and was told that wasn’t really an option although that is how it is advertised because they don’t order or ship washers. I was told my only option was the $547 which wouldn’t cover a replacement. I asked how this was calculated based on my search. The representative said it was their wholesale cost which didn’t make sense since she just told me they don’t buy washers to satisfy claims. I told her that a bogus wholesale calculation wasn’t going to help me as a consumer paying retail. At the end, they wouldn’t listen to reason and only agreed to send a check instead of a gift card for $547. That would take another 30 days. Being without a washer for 60 days isn’t customer service . I filed a complaint with the BBB and will now have to buy a washer at retail out of pocket. Buyer Beware!

We are in our fifth week without our HVAC. It is so cold. It already was having problems with the cooling the last couple months of summer. They sent a tech he got it to run for two days. He said the unit needed replaced. We paid him his fee. They sent him again. Again he got it running. He told us to run it for 4-5 hours, then turn it off for 2 hours-repeat. He said that might last until he could get the claim through to replace the unit. We didn’t hear anything. Then the HVAC quit completely. They kept saying the tech did not get back to them. One rep said they were reassigning the ticket; they did not. After calling for several days, did finally reassign it. The new tech finally got. He told us the HVAC should have been shut down. It could have caught fire or exploded. He said the HVAC needed replaced; it was 30 years old. (The house is 22 years old). They were to come out today but canceled-weather. I called Choice Home Warranty. They said they could not do anything; I would have to go online to reschedule. Once online it wants you to agree to pay a $139 diagnostic fee. I’ve already paid two fees. It has been below freezing so much during this time. We have had snow. It is going down in the single digits tonight. We have bought 4space heaters to try to keep the temperature in the house above 60°. I filed complaints with the BBB, the FTC, the New Jersey Consumer Department and the Tennessee Consumer Department. We are at a loss. We are old (70 & 92) and we are cold.

This was the absolute WORST experience we have ever experienced!!! When my wife called in the request for service regarding our Hot water heater, she was asked dozens of questions, and ended up saying, "That's not covered in your contract"!!! I looked up our contract and verified it IS covered! When I called Choice, I also got a voice mail, which asked a LOT of questions! I finally did get a claim number. Choice sent an E=Mail stating Desert Rain Plumbing will be calling. Raycon came to our house and told us he will have someone call and come to acess the damage Mitch of Premier Restoration came to look at the water damage. He har someone come out on Wenesday. They brought three small fans and one large one. He told us they have to run for three days, and they would be back on Friday. Thursday, Desert Rain Plumbing man, Michael, came, unplugged the fans, moved them away, and proceeded to install the new water heater! Wevhad to give him $800.00! (guess we just bought a water heater!) When I asked him how will the restoration people be able to put up new drywall and baseboard with the water heater in the way??? His reply was, "That's not me problem"! This was all scheduled backward!!! The Restoration people never showed up! Saturday,Nov. 18th we were not getting any water in the kitchen sink! The other sinks had water, but it took over 15 minutes for ant Hot water flowed. ALL faucets except the kitchen. We called Desert Rain Plumbing, left a message. We did not hear fom anyone! We called Desert Rain Plumbing on Monday, left ANOTHER message! We called Choice and spoke to Tiffany, who told us she would have a tech person out on Tuesday. She also said she would call the Restoration people to call us! Scott called from Resoration to tell us the earliest he coud get someone out would be December 7th! He wanted $600.00 deposit, and the He sent an E=Mail Invoice!!! balance of another $600.00 when finished!!! I did NOT OK it! Instead TI called Brittany at Restoration and CANCELLED the Dec. 7th service appointment. I asked for an E-Mail stating that it was cancelled. While I was talking to Scott , two men from Priemier Restoration came to FINALLY pick up the fans! Tuesday, Michael , from Desert Rain came. I told him I was happy he came, and that I was hoping he could rectify the water not flowing from the Kitchen sink. He told us we needed a NEW FAUCET, this one was full of silt all the way down! I asked him to come with me to get a new one from Home Depot. He said he's not allowed to do that, and the recycling pump was not included in the Coice claim! I said that I would go myself and buy a new Faucet, and can he wait for me to come back with it? He said "No! I have an appointment! He had an appointment, but he came early??? He quickly left, got in his car and drove off! He knew he was getting in too deep and ee would call him on it! My wife called Choice, talked to Cindy. Rita started explaining what occurred, and asked Cindy tolet her talk to a supervisor. Cindy put her on hold from 12:15 - 12:50 ! My wife was Cut off! My wife called back. Now she was talking To Farrah who said we have to do a new claim to get a Recycling Pump. She gave us a new claim with Sage Plumbing, who did come to see what was needed. Someone did come on Wednesday and install the Recycling Pump for $792.00! At one point we were so stressed over this entire process, we were on the verge of callng Chanel 3 to see if we could get some help. It seems like we were taken advantage of being Senior Citizens! We really do not want to continue with CHOICE HOME WARRANTY!

This company is very difficult to deal with. They make it extremely hard to collect on a claim. Their liability is very limited on most claims. They purport to warranty many things but in reality they cover very little. Their customer service is difficult to deal with. They can answer questions by script only. They do not listen. They do not try to understand your situation not do they care. I think their only objective is to pay as little of the claim as possible. When you elevate the claim to a higher level to get someone to look into your claim, it gets even more difficult. What Choice Home Warranty advertises is not what they deliver on. I will never do business with them again. They are borderline fraudulent.

We are thoroughly disappointed with the service received. Our septic system (specifically the pump in the downstairs portion of our home where our 86 year old lives malfunctioned. I immediately placed a claim. After over 72 hours, we still could not get it repaired because the representative said they could not find anyone to service in an appropriate amount of time with multiple calls, we were told we could find someone to repair it and submit the bill. When we went to submit the bill, it stated, if we did not get prior approval, it would not be paid. Now, we are out over $500 that should have just been the service fee. And, to top it off, I called the first company on the list when I goggled the issue, and they came out within 2 hours without delay. My uncle could not flush his toilet, use water to wash his dishes, etc. for 72 hours. He is unable to climb the stairs to our part of the home due to his health. I have never been more disappointed than I was with this issue.

I dislike almost everything about Choice Warranty. Your customer service agents are rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful. When I am paying for a service I expect at least half decent customer service. I have only had Choice Warranty for 4 months and both times I have called in a service order it has been an absolute adventure to say the least. They don’t know what my warranty covers and then when it comes time for service it is ALWAYS A REASON why something isn’t covered but actually it is covered if they would just read the warranty contract and not the preprinted answers. I have been a home owner for over 30 years and had home warranty’s on all of my properties and Choice Warranty has been by far the worst warranty company I have experienced. I would NEVER recommend CHOICE to anyone. I know one person isn’t going to mean anything to a company of your size but just so you know I am a military veteran who served several years in the US Air Force and have acquaintances all over the world who own homes and I will make sure to let them know not to purchase a home warranty from Choice. Choice doesn’t want to honor their contract and will find anyway possible to avoid paying to get your item repaired and back in working order. Along with review I am filing a BBB complaint about the customer service and level of support from Choice.

Generally speaking they've done a good job in a rather timely fashion. But my latest situation with my refrigerator that stopped working on the 15th of November 2023. Is now the 19th of December 2023 and finally finally the technician will be here the 20th of December to install the part. So yes I've been without a refrigerator freezer for over 1 month. They would not consider replacing the refrigerator since the part was on order even though it took so long to get here. So yes that was extremely frustrating.

Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT use this company. There will be delays in getting a repair company out, they will tell you they don’t have the parts and do anything they can to not fix your appliance. My fridge has been broken for over 2 months. The tech said there was nothing else he could do, so they keep re assigning the job to new techs to get out of replacing it. They offered me $400 to close my case! Customer service is outsourced and useless and the resolution dept was so rude that they credited me back the $75 back I initially paid the tech to come out and look at my fridge. This company has zero customer service. I had to find out the hard way. I’m hoping my post helps others.

Choice does not honor their advertisement of if we cannot repair it we will fix. Find loopholes in the contract that is not spelled out to deny a claim. Everything has a life span and wears our over a period of time. That is why I have a warranty, pay as you go to offset high repairs all at once.

the way you "search" for technician to accept the service call and do the repair work or recommendation to replace unit is way too long. I have had request several times that sit in a pile somewhere and then get cancelled with NO letting me know. And I have to stat the whole process again to be cancelled again. This last request took over 7 months, and I even gave you 2 or 3 local service companies that were willing to do the service call and repair if necessary. Not all of us have the money to pay for services rendered and then possibly be reimbursed. THAT's why we pay you.

I am not happy with Choice. My hot water heater went out. They sent out plumber and now it's been over 3 week on second plumber and they are tired of the run around from Choice and telling me they are ready to tell Choice they are done with them. I need my hot water heater this is completely ridiculous. I was told they would try to get out of replacing the water heater and they are trying. That is the reason I have the home warranty with Choice. I am going to media if they do not replace it. They have lied to me many times and keep asking for the diagnosis and pictures over and over. No, I would not recommend Choice Home Warranty. My refrigerator stopped working at the beginning of November. We made a claim and were told a repair person would be assigned within 24 hours. After two weeks and several calls to customer service, we were finally told that we could find our own repair person. We found a repair guy who came out the very next day. This was the Monday of Thanksgiving. He said that the repairs would be over $1400 and would not be worth the price. We declined the repair and were forced to buy a new one. We sent in the quote for repair and the invoice for the $139.00 repair call and Choice Home Warranty said they will only pay $500.00 when we send in the total repair invoice. The refrigerator was not worth repairing so we have no repair invoice. This company is a scam. We have two homes covered with this company and are cancelling both policies.

Overall, I am disappointed about the technical proficiency of these contractors. I have decided to do some research myself to see if I can figure out the problem. They refused to accept proof that my fridge was not under warranty. Samsung sent an email verifying that my compressor was NOT under warranty, but Choice Home wouldn't accept it because it wasn't on their letterhead (Samsung said they wouldn't send a letter, not their policy). The technician that THEY sent verified that the compressor was NOT a digital inverter compressor, but they didn't accept that because he wasn't a registered Samsung technician. I sent in several documents to verify, but each time, it wasn't accepted. I spent three weeks trying to satisfy them, and each time I had to explain every detail again and again. No one ever looked at the previous notes. I finally insisted on speaking to a supervisor--no easy task. An appointment was made, I received several emails confirming the date and time, with a reminder that if I missed the appointment, I would be out of luck. I was given the name of the person I was to speak with. The call came in, but the supervisor wasn't on the call !?!? It was another person who would relay my concerns.I was without a refrigerator for three weeks with Thanksgiving looming! It was the most frustrating experience I've ever dealt with. I jumped through hoops, but it did no good. Between calls to Samsung, calls to Choice Home Warranty, and calls to the repair technician I spent hours on the phone. It is clear to me that their job is to avoid paying for repairs.

Quick responses from warranty company. However the companies used to carry out repairs are un reliable. We stayed home 3 days due to missed appointments by Sears. They finally showed up on day 3. Diagnosed the problem. Ordered the part and now have advised they are still locating the part. I found the part in 5 minutes and could have had it delivered the next day. We won't be a the property when the part finally arrives so we are not sure what will happen from here. Very dissapointed

I've had both positive and negative experiences. If the contractor who picks up your job is communicative its smooth sailing. If they go unresponsive or don't do the repairs Choice doesn't assist and you have to repay fees to have another contractor come out.

I only give this review 1 star because that’s the lowest I can give. I’ve had 2 other warranty companies before choice and I do not recommend this place to ANYONE!! You submit your claim, it takes 2-3 weeks for any response or anyone to come out for repairs. My first claim Was a refrigerator that went out. It took 2 weeks to get someone out to tell Is it was bad and we had it replaced. We had to rent a fridge for 2 weeks which was a total Waste of time had we known we were going to buy a new one anyway. Next claim, sewer line clogged. Took 2 weeks for anyone to even respond. We had no shower, toilet, couldn’t even use the kitchen sink. The company you go With, Show-Me Plumbing, he doesn’t respond to texts or answer his phone at all. So basically we just sit and wait and hope Something gets done every claim We are going to have to file. DEFINITELY going back to my previous warranty company. They had someone out within 1-2 days. This is utterly RIDICULOUS!!

They don't have a person to talk to, so it's impossible to get help when things aren't going well. They make it so that everything that really needs to be fixed is not covered. And the first people that came out charged me $300 to put some Freon in and that was not covered. So actually I have gotten no benefit whatsoever, even though I have a warranty.

Dislike how long choice home warranty ,took to find a repair technician for all my claims. 1st claim july 3 water leak coming from upstairs tub drain. I believe it was Oct when they denied claim. Said it was bad glue or caulk not daily wear. Tek showed pictures of cracked plastic pipe thinning over the years, under tub. 2nd claim hot water heater , denied claim . I got tired of waiting to get claim approved and NO hot water, 2months . Last claim my furnace would not turn on. I was thankful they fixed that A technical was sent in like 10 days. Illinois was cold then 40-50 degrees at night. I don't believe in bad luck but in came in threes . Choice home warranty does NOT GET tech support to your house in 48 hours. This is the big question why do they always want MORE pictures from a tech? Impossible to take a picture of a water heater that wouldn't light ,and of its leak. We drained water heater with a hose Water was running all over my basement floor. In the long run I ended up with lots repairs and cost. I CANCELED the insurance from Choice home warranty. We are disabled , on fixed income. No matter how you look at it, we didn't save money. Service technician was tired of trying to get claims approved. 850.00 we put on credit card for water heater. 85.00 for technician to come about leaking tub pipe spout. 450.00 out of pocket to repair it. We don't have cash to repair ceiling tiles walls and flooring in basement from BLACK MOLD from leaking pipes and water heater. I have had other home warranties with never having to wait Months for a technician to check the problem. SO disappointed in service from Choice home warranty. Claims manager don't even listen to a technician on the phone. Technician kept saying that we the customer did our part, he sent in the pictures, now it was choice home warranty to do there part.

I feel they do not hold through their warranty policy and every claim there’s always a dispute. I had a claim to repair my thermal tank, and I initially opened the claim under plumbing as the thermal tank is a covered item. However, they told me it wouldn’t be covered so therefore I close the claim. Then when I received a copy of my policy and realize it was a cupboard item, I tried to reopen the claim, but they would not let me reopen it under plumbing, therefore I reopened it under water heater as it’s the same thermal tank as you only have one. But it was not a covered item under water heater. Therefore, I had to pay for it out-of-pocket.

The first tech turned the water on on the toilet when we had not been able to leave the water running. When I turned it bacen i k on the toilet overflowed. He removed a boxed area behind the toilet where the lines came in and didn't replace it. When I finally got another tech out with two weeks and 2 rescheduled calls. He was supposed to fix the tub where the line had come loose from the sewer line. He ignored me. He said they needed to get parts. They left came back carrying a box with a faucet kit. Said they had it fixed. They did. Then told me I owed them another 80 dollars not covered items. I was so shocked I paid. He told me I needed to get another warranty company, your company always had thing they didn't cover. I haven't paid this months bill and won't unless I get reimbursed my 80 dollars. I talked to someone Thurs who said I'd hear from someone within 24 hours. I didn't. If I don't have a resolution by Friday I'll cancel you

Made & received email confirmation of a claim on 11/28. Email stated they would be scheduling a repairman. Heard no more from them until I finally called them approximately a week later on 12/4. After calling, I received an email saying a repairman was scheduled to arrive on 12/5 with a 4 hr time window. Repairman determined problem and said it would be another week to get the parts. That will make 2 weeks without refrigerator working properly. I understand the week delay in getting parts, but don't understand nothing happening on the claim until I finally called them. I wonder how long I would have waited if I hadn't called!!

One of the main problems is I called them on a Monday and they got somebody here on a Friday so it took way too long to get somebody out here. They deliver late. The person that they did call out was very professional and very nice.

I had used a couple of times and each time my experience was really bad. I had used them with my dishwasher. They assigned me someone and the guy was not picking up the calls and after that, when he picked up the call, he said that the part will come, but it will take time. So I had to go do the laundry somewhere else for month and a half which is which was very annoying and after almost a month and a half or two months I got the part. The guy came and fixed it. And my refrigerator was not working and when I called the Choice Home Warranty they assigned me someone which was coming after 10 days and in this world, you cannot live without your refrigerator not working. I told them that this is totally not working. You have to assign someone as quick as possible. And they still assigned me a person who was coming after two weeks, so that was a very, very bad experience. You can still go do the laundry outside, but you cannot put your stuff in someone else's fridge.
