My first experience had a great outcome within 48 hours I had a repair man out and the issue was taken care of. Everything was done through messaging so you didn't have to sit on the phone talking to a machine or waiting to talk to a real person. Everything was executed smoothly and within a reasonable amount of time.

Transparency is an issue as well as case management. It is impossible to escalate a complaint. There is no access to management or corporate HQ. I asked for a Case manager about a month ago for an ongoing furnace and technician issue and still have not heard from one. My furnace still is not functioning properly from an ongoing claim submitted in the beginning of April. It is now the end of May and will be assigned a fourth technician. This is the 2nd year of a 39 month contract. Last year is a whole other part of this continuing furnace saga too lengthy to address here. I would love to be contacted by the CEO of this company. Service reps state they have no contacts for management or corporate. Company reeks with lack of transparency and accountability.

I like the pricing and the coverage that they offer. I have used the warranty for a couple of things. First experience was not good in the sense that I had an issue. The claim was rejected immediately, and I never got the chance to talk to the complaint manager. The second time I used the warranty, the response was very prompt. The vendor came and he took three or four hours to do the investigation and then he caught the issue and then he replaced it immediately. He ordered the part and placed it immediately on the same day within 4 hours. It was a hassle free process and the vendor I worked with was very good.

Every time I called, we got somebody to talk to and when I've called the people that I need to come to my house came on the very next day. The people that come out know what exactly what they're doing. It is definitely worth the money. This company is true to their mission. And the people they sent out are professionals, they behave in a professional manner when they come. They come and get to their job and get it done as quickly as possible, and they produce a positive result.

With my experience with them, there were some gray areas and they were not completely transparent. But I was so pleased with the interaction with the home warranty sales person. The last time I used the warranty was for the temperature in the kitchen. The motor was stuck and they repaired it and it was very good.

I had a claim for a washer and it needed to be replaced and it was assigned to a claims manager and made an offer for the replacement that I felt it was very low so I asked to talk to somebody and it took about three emails, three voicemails, and then calling up a different customer service rep that I talked to when I first signed up with choice and escalated the situation to force the claims manager to finally contact me so we can discuss the next steps. So that part was not pleasant trying to reach the claims manager that I was assigned to. However once I was in contact with that person they were knowledgeable and explained why the offer was the way it was and answered all my questions at that point. But I was kind of upset for a few weeks there trying to get a hold of them and every day counts when you're out an appliance you can't get a hold of them. When I had a dryer that needed to be repaired that experience was favorable. A repair guy came out and made an assessment, ordered the parts and came back within a few days and replaced it with the new parts.

The people at Choice Home Warranty are professionals there is no doubt about it. It is one of the better options for companies. I had to use my warranty this year and my hot water heater went out and they brought in another one and replaced it and they did a real good job. They just bought the wrong size back and I'm kind of upset about that but other than that they did a really good job.

Last time I called customer support, the person was telling me something about the way they charge and I wasn't really understanding but he took the time to go through everything with me and explain it so that wasn't a problem. I used the warranty on my hot water heater. I called and they sent someone out three days later.

The customer service was quite rude. I'm actually in a current claim right now and my dishwasher broke. The first technician came out but didn't fix it. Customer service is extremely difficult to get a hold of. Although my claim manager was actually very pleasant. Her name is Lydia, she was helpful but she was the only one that seems extremely helpful. Another experience I had was when my air conditioning went out. I live in Arizona and the gentleman did not help me get a hold of somebody to get approval to get it fixed or get somebody out. It took quite a few days to actually get somebody out here once I did talk to a supervisor. They said "oh yes we could have expedited this no problem," so it's frustrating that the first person I talked to was unwilling to do that.

It's hard at times to reach customer support because of the length of time. Sometimes putting the request in the website can be difficult. They are very trustworthy. I had to use the warranty when my dishwasher died. I put in the request and a very kind gentleman came. He was just the sweetest person. Recently my garbage disposal also died. So I called and the gentleman came out and again he was very pleasant and so helpful. I mean it's just nice to say that everybody that comes out here is just a pleasant and nice. They fixed everything as best they can. So I think it's wonderful.

They respond rather quickly. And they sent the plumbers all rather quickly after that. There was there's a good service, a good response, and nice people. They seem to do the job quickly and gain the right information. I had to use my warranty to get our refrigerator fixed. It needed some new parts and the parts came right away. The gentleman came back and fixed it and we had no problems at that time. But we also had to have our air conditioner fixed once and it took them two weeks or longer. When I had to have my dishwasher replaced, the new dishwasher cost seven hundred. Choice only gave me two hundred forty five dollars but when I started the contract said they would get a replacement equal to or better than the one we had and they did not do that.

I have trouble getting coordination between the people that they hire and the people who set up appointments. Then nobody shows up because they didn't know there was an appointment, it was a big mess. I have learned that I have to call myself to get to talk to the vendor. Other than that we thought it was a good product and something we wanted for our new home. There are several times we've used the warranty and it's been just fine once I get the appointments straightened out and the time isn't wasted anymore. We needed a new garage door opener and once I called myself, he came out and everything went fine.

This warranty is cost effective. I had a problem with my refrigerator. It was a valve that was leaking. They had to come back out and replace the valve because the valve that they put in was faulty. And I had to make two payments. Each for sixty dollars and that was something that I had already paid for. But it was not issued a credit.

Slow response, no follow up, poor communication. The repairman came and said that the water heater needed to be replaced. Did not hear from Choice or the repair company. I called Choice and was told that the water heater would be replaced on the coming Friday between 8:00-12 noon. No one showed up. I called the repair company and was told that I was not on the schedule and that the water heater would not be replaced but repaired. The parts were order and was waiting for them. I called Choice and this information was confirmed but I have not heard back from anyone. This all started in mid April.

So far, with only two exceptions which have not repeated themselves, through numerous claims that arose unexpectedly, CHW saw the problems through to a more than satisfactory resolution. In our case at least, CHW acted quickly, professionally and sent skilled technicians who got the job done right the first time, without added cost to us.

Should be way choosier about their contactors. I think they need to be really strict about who they pick to represent them. Some of the contractors are unfortunately not responsive. Some are good but some don’t reflect their customer service. Choice was pretty prompt for the AC but the guy they sent diagnosed the problem then disappeared forever. We suffered the heat for almost two weeks. Others have been reasonable and gotten the job done decently.

The price is good every month. All the times I have called them, everything has been done properly except one time. They are always knowledgeable. It gets done right away. If they can’t find someone, they’ll let me know and ask me to find my own person. They sent me a check for finding my own service guy for my furnace. A little communication when the change the price would be nice.
