I got a very bad start on my second claim in a year… While I do feel the warranty is worth is, it can be painful. One claims rep that I talked to on a come-back (the original problem re-occurred in less than 2 weeks). When they tried to collect the claim fee a second time I explained that it was a come-back. He argued with me. I asked to speak with a manager no less than 10 times. He refused. I called him an idiot. (I apologize for stooping to his level!). He said a manager would call me back….. weeks later, I’m still waiting on that. Meanwhile, the next day I called back and got a very kind and patient customer service rep who LISTENED to me. She agreed, contacted the service tech, and got the Claim fee waived.thank you for hiring her!

Reasonable response time for scheduling repairs. Not required to pay when making the initial contact for service call. Capable vendors with no attempt to look for exclusions to coverage. Wait times to place a seevice call are reasonable. Annual rates for coverage are equal to or below other warranty companies. Satisfied thus far.

I used it two times. One is for my garage door not going down or getting stuck in between. The technician was assigned quickly and within two days the technician came and found out that the motor needs to be replaced and they did replace the motor. That is maybe worth $350 to $400, so the service was excellent. And at the time, I had an issue with the refrigerator ice forming. The technician was assigned but it took like a week or so. But he came and then he needed a part and the part was approved. And they replaced it after a week or so.

We went through the Choice people and they were responsive and sent someone right out. And the guy was able to fix it on the spot kind of thing, maybe it took him an hour and a half or something. So it was good. It was valuable. We haven't really had to use it very often, which is a good thing. But like all insurance, you buy it and you hope you don't have to use it.

I think every time I've used it, it's been for A/C. I put in a work request and they came out, took them about 5 minutes, flipped the switch, and the unit started working again. So it was expensive for what it took to fix it, but it's good to have it up and running. I've had them come several times for eight different A/C issues and most of the time, everything's gone pretty good. I'd probably recommend them. There's always room for improvement.

I've used it once and I'm very happy with the technician. The only complaint I have is Choice keeps sending me emails about other products that I'm not interested in and I requested several times to unsubscribe and I still get emails. The technician was great, the response time was great. The person I dealt with at Choice on the phone was great. It was overall a really good experience. Just take me off your mailing list.

Not long ago, during the heat of Texas, my air conditioning was not working and so I called Choice. They sent the young man out, a sharp young guy, and he fixed it in a very, very short order. The technicians who have come to my house to do the work have been really excellent.

Choice has been a great service. I purchased an older home and they have assisted with many unexpected repairs. The only draw back is that it will take several days or a week to get one of their contractors to evaluate the issue, then the issue has to be approved to be fixed. Sometimes it may require for them to come back out. They have been very fair in fixing the problem, you just have patience during the process.

I have had CHW deny a claim after they initially ok'd it. My dishwasher needed a new pump. The first vendor got it approved, but never showed up again, The second vendor had the new pump denied. CHW wanted to pay for replacing the dishwasher, except the price was way too low. I fought for a higher amount and received it, but they would only issue it as a Lowe's ecard. Another time, they sent a vendor for a gas pipe leak. CHW misunderstood the vendors claim, saying that the pipe was put in wrong and therefore they wouldn't pay for repair. I talked with the vendor and he said that is not what he sent them. He said that he would try to straighten it out, but was not successful. I have several other claims that have been denied or hard to settle, but you get the idea. If it's a simple claim, it usually goes through more smoothly. A few of their vendors are unreliable, yet I've had some who are very good.

I would recommend it. Anytime I call, I get to actually talk to someone, not a menu, and they're always very helpful and they get someone here quickly. I just think it's a good value and it's very nice for a homeowner to be able to pay a service fee and not have a whole lot of extra charges.

I can only speak about one experience, and that was excellent. I signed up online, I didn't speak to anybody. And then the guy who was supposed to fix the stuff came. It was pretty simple and it solved my problem. The guy was very nice and it didn't take him long to fix it.

They repaired a leak under my sink. The plumber was there within a couple of days and finished the repair, so it went fine. I really didn't have much interaction with them, but the interaction I did have was fine. So far, so good.

They're pretty efficient. They've gotten all my issues sorted out in a couple of days, and even when they had to replace an appliance, it didn't take them weeks. It took them under a week and a half to give me answers and kept good communication about it.

I paid my deductible and they fixed my refrigerator two weeks ago. I just wish that we didn't have to pay those high deductibles. Seems like something happens every time your money is low. Other than that, I don't have any problems. I'll pay the deductible and they fix my stuff or replace it and that's it. I'm good.

So far, used them once. Dishwasher went out, so I called Choice. They responded quickly and sent a technician out. The technician came out, determined it needed a part, ordered the part, came back a couple days later, and fixed it. However, I signed up two to three months ago for Choice and I continually still get marketing campaigns addressed to my e-mail and that gets irritating. So they need to work that piece out.

My ice maker was broken in my refrigerator and I had to have somebody come and fix it. I did it through the website and it was an immediate response and I didn't have to wait. Within two days they were here to fix it, and I've had no problems ever since.

This particular time it worked out well, so I have no complaints at this time. My clothes dryer stopped heating up and I needed to use Choice Home Warranty. I filled out an online application. They sent a text that said that it would be done. The person came when they were supposed to and fixed my dryer.

Clarification of what is covered on each covered item would be a better understanding . When you log a call the choice employee should be able to tell if the item is covered. When a contractor shows up and see the problem he may say this is not covered then he proceeds to say I can fix it but this is not covered by warranty. Then they proceed to say it’s going to cost you a certain amount plus the deductible. The folks that I have dealt will have been excellent and they want to help fix the problem. I’ve never had a bad experience with anyone Choice has sent out to fix my appliances.

So far, when I have had to use my warranty, the garage door workers came the next day...on the fourth of July!!! and the stove worker came out quickly , ordered the part and came back within a few days. He did a great job. I have been very pleased so far. I did not have those results with my last warranty company.

I had to replace my water heater. They responded very quickly and the follow up was good. I communicated via email and I didn't need to call them. Every step was in order. One downside was that I had to pay additional $455.00 as copay. The charge was for the related plumbing to install the new water heater. However, I think they should cover all expenses to replace the new equipment as they stated in the contract.

Although my claim was originally denied on appeal the agent was very courteous and agreed that the claim was reasonable and approved it. A local service technician came out and diagnosed the problem and parts were ordered. In less than a week the parts arrived and my refrigerator has been repaired. The problem was with the dispenser system so that no water or ice would be dispensed. Normal refrigerator and freezer functions were not affected.

Overall happy with Choice Home Warranty. Service provider was great. And the visit cost less than it would have without the home warranty. I gave four stars because it took a while to receive the appointment and we were without heat / hot water (because of a malfunctioning thermocouple) for over 24 hours because of this delay. I’d give 4.5 if I could because it’s possible calling a heating company directly could also have resulted in a delayed service visit.

This is the second year as I bought a 6-year policy with this company. Had a few claims, but on last they are trying to avoid meeting their coverage obligations on claim. My Furness pilot lite was off, and I called them for repairs. A maintenance man came by made a couple fixes and got the thing working only to have the heater fail the next day again. When I called back asking for someone to come fix it again or replace it as promised in the coverage, they told me they would not, due to this is maintenance problem. To my understanding, it should be replaced the rusted flexible gas line and possible gas injecting nozzle. Now I'm stuck with not working heater and a policy that doesn't do me any good.

I just recently filed a claim for a hot water tank that was broken and they acted on it pretty quick. I definitely think they sell you the product and then you don't get what they really say you should get. They give you the impression that more of your claims should be covered, but then when it comes down to it, it's not all covered. So that's kind of disappointing.

The first time I used it was for my refrigerator and the people that came were very good, but they used my pizza stick - what I use to move pizzas around in the oven - to go under the refrigerator instead of bringing their own working tools.

CHW replaced my indoor HVAC unit, which was good. However, they charged me $1600 labor for the outdoor unit even though they only paid the technician $385 to install the indoor unit. CHW only used a unit that met the minimum SEER rating for my state. They had no procedure to allow me to pay more for a higher SEER unit. In addition, they tell me they will not cover any labor repair charges while the unit has any warranty on parts, even though the unit has 10 years on parts but only one year on labor. It seems the labor would be covered after the one year. I will need to consider dropping coverage next year.

Having a seller-paid home warranty has definitely helped us get numerous issues fixed with our home. Overall the quality of service has been mostly pretty good and being able to file a claim online provides a certain level of convenience. However there have been a few times when a technician has had to get approval from the warranty to fix some things which has sometimes caused a few delays. It can make things more complicated sometimes too, which is not convenient but a little confusing too.

The process of filing the claim and getting it resolved in a timely manner was great and I was very impressed. I was not happy about the "unassociated costs" that are not covered, and I still had to come out of pocket quite a bit of money. I asked the representative when I signed up about the coverage and was told that yes, if you file a claim, you pay the service fee and then the list of items or issues that were covered at 100%. There is fine print about unassociated costs that are not covered that they do not tell you or explain clearly so it was very misleading what 100% coverage truly means. Be careful and read the fine print!!!
