I had problems with my refrigerator that started in June of this year. It took two weeks to get a technician out to attempt a repair. After three attempts at repairing the refrigerator it’s still not working. It’s now August and the refrigerator is still not working correctly. After talking to the rep for choice they will no longer pay for any repairs or replace the refrigerator. The reason given is that the item that’s broken isn’t covered under the warranty. I would consider going with another company if your looking for a home warranty.

Each time I called to Resolve a situation they could never honor what the previous Representative had said & nor do they make notes in your account to make it easier for you. Read their policy document before purchasing. Any major issues you claim for, chance are they are going to decline your claim. When my garbage disposal stopped, they denied saying it was due to some foreign object and is not covered. I fixed it by rotating it with simple tool. Now when the AC went off, they said its due to water damage and that is not covered per xx section of agreement. I wont recommend to go with this company.

If I could give them less than one star I would! My parent's refrigerator stopped working and they sent someone out, the repairman told them it was their compressor. When my father called Choice about them putting in another compressor they told him no, they would not pay for a new compressor because there was a hole in one of their hoses and that it put a strain on the compressor which caused the compressor to stop working. The repairman told my dad that is an out and out lie! He said, there was no hole in your hose they are trying to pull something over on you! Total crooks!

They didn't come through when you really needed them when my air conditioner went out they said they couldn't cover the part because of a hidden stipulation in the contract. If I got to worry about getting my stuff fixed why I going keep paying you for. It was hot and I had kids in the house but they found a way to got out of covering the part repair. I literally purchased a plan with Choice Home Warranty on Saturday via an internet application. As of Tuesday, 2 business days later, I've had 11 calls from this company asking me to purchase additional coverage, extended my coverage beyond a year, or to purchase home security coverage, of which I say no everytime! Each sales person acts like they had no idea I had already been called multiple times in the day! I'm literally being harrassed all day long & now I wish I never purchased anything from this company!!

Stay a way from these crooks there advertising is misleading and they don't do what say.They come up with every excuse in the book not to pay your claim.My a.c. unit went out and the tech could not believe how good of shape the unit was in for it's age.Choice told him to replace the compressor but do to the age there was non available. So choice came and said the condenser was rusted and that's way the compressor failed and all my years I have never seen aluminum rust .So please look elsewhere for coverage.

Refused to pay on a two zone ac system saying it was a add on. Originally installed as a 2 zone. When their propaganda says air conditioning system covered they don’t really mean it Be careful, they find any way they can to avoid paying a claim. After being denied for my claim I wrote several bad reviews for this company. After they contacted me begging to take down the reviews for a full refund I agreed. several weeks later they said they issued a refund but I still have not received it so I'm renewing my reviews. This company is absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with. My only desire I now is to tell other people about my experience so they aren't taken advantage by this scam company. PLEASE DO NOT BUY!

I have had the warranty program since November 2018. I filed my first claim August 2 for a refrigerator. On Aug 5 I received an appointment for Aug 15!! I told them that I cannot wait that long. The service agent told me that I should contact SEARS myself to make arrangements....? Really. Still without an appointment, without working fridge, without resolve from CHW...

They do not like to pay claims larger than $100. We have filled two small claims in which they paid, but the parts were less than $100. There heat pump went out last summer and they denied the claim. We paid over $2k to fix. Then this summer we have an issue with the coil and they have denied it again. I requested an appeal and can't get details on how the appeal works and need my AC fixed.

I placed a claim on a AC not cooling. They denied the claim saying it's not covered because it's excluded from the coverage. They cover nothing . Their customer service reps were trained to scam people. They don't cover any of your appliances or any items. This isn't a home warranty company. It's a scam.They will get your money and don't help you out is any angle. I don't recommend this at all. I just hate rating them with one star rating. They don't even deserve one star. They deserve ZERO star.

A/C repair of 15 year old blower motor failure because of claim that filter was dirty, when if fact the service tech never removed the filter to inspect it , The filter had been in place for about one month. It was not dirty! Stay away from this company as they will do anything to deny a warranty claim. Of course a 15 year old blower motor will likely fail but they did not take that into consideration if their hast to grasp at anything to deny warranty repair. They bought in multiple service groups until they got one that would agree to claim improper user maintenance.

I would give zero rating If there is a zero available. I purchased two 3 year contracts for two properties. I had two claims, one was for water heater and the other was for ac condenser. CHW denied both claims. For water heater they denied because of the tank leak (it was due to the age of the tank, but they don’t care); for ac unit, they said because of the electrical current caused unit overheated, they denied the claim (according to my ac technician, the old ac unit has this type of problem).

I called about a water heater that was not working correctly . Long story short choice sent out 3 different plumbers. Parts where sent and installed , I found out later the parts didn’t even belong on the water heater . The left me with a heater that now doesn’t work at all since the pilot assembly was completely taken apart. I had to pay 1175.00 for a new one . Don’t do business with this shady fly by night company if you value your money, there crooks !

ZERO STARS! The absolute WORST. Every claim I submitted was denied! The customer service agents are the bottom barrel. It sounds like you are speaking to a prison release work program. The last straw? They couldn’t find the parts to repair my microwave oven. They come back and deny the claim saying that I abused the machine, after they couldn’t locate the parts. I wish I had taken out a warranty against being ripped off. And the irony? When they called me, it would show up on Caller ID as “Scam Likely!”

Our A/C went out and it took them 4 days to send someone out, only to not fix it and it took another 3 days to send another tech out, only to tell me that he needed the approval to do the job! The techs they sent out did not really check what was wrong with our ac . They just added Freon , which turned out to overcharge my system. They sent the techs back out for the same problem to only tell me it was something else which cost me 1000.00 to only keep have the same issues . Don’t waste your money on choice . Choice Home Warranty took my money for a year. I submitted my first for a hot water heater. They denied the claim stating they exclude covering tanks. What more is a hot water heater than a tank? Their customer service offered me $250, which they renege on. All this company does is lie, double talk and state there are no supervisors to talk to. Anyone else in my shoes should make it a mission to put this company out of business. If I could give Choice a no star rating, I would.

I have had two claims. The first was a leaking water heater. The tech said it was operating ok even though the water heater it's self was leaking. Denied. The second claim was an A/C compressor that locked up. The tech said it wasn't serviced. I have a continuing service contract with the most reputable company in the Phoenix area! Also denied. I have been trying to cancel my prepaid contract for an entire month to no avail!!!

My AC condenser unit had been working fine for six years since house was bought . Unit was 8-10 yrs. Old . The compressor leaked fluid and burnt up. Choice warranty refused to pay for it because they said it was not normal for the compressor to go out unless I did something to cause it . Beware of using Choice and don't count on them paying for a major breakdown !!!!!

Once again my claim was denied due to “rust or corrosion/build up which are all a result of “time” not neglect on part of the home owner. Choice Home Warranty deserves 0 stars! I filed a claim on our refrigerator not working. They sent a technician out about a week later. They said they had to order the part. After complaining numerous times about days going by in the 95 degree weather with small children they said as soon as the part comes in they will send someone out to fix it. Two weeks later the part came in. I called asap and they said now you owe us money so we can't help you until you make a payment. We fixed it ourselves and cancelled them. Worst service ever!

Horrible. Still have no air conditioning and it’s going on three weeks. Did I mention I live in Austin Texas and it’s JULY!! Technician stood us up because he wasn’t getting paid enough, I had to call choice to tell them to pay him a more. He finally comes out and choice ordered the wrong part because it was the cheaper option and only half the motor. So here I sit, dripping with sweat because choice is the devil!!!

Just terrible. I bought 2 three year policies with these guys. My AC unit started acting up. A technician came out and charged it with coolant and charged me $900. A couple months later, the unit developed a leak. Choice Home Warranty claimed they do not cover this, despite the fact I specific bought these policies to cover my AC unit. After having to move out of our house waiting to see if CHW would cover the repairs, and after hearing nothing from them, I have just cancelled my 2 policies and will pay to have this done myself. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

I have 3 homes under warranty with Choice - each with a 3 year contract. I am beginning to think that they actually want customers to try to cancel their contracts. our most recent issue is our central air conditioner - we submitted a claim on Sunday - today - 3 days later they still have not scheduled an appt. I have sent numerous emails and finally received a call - where they only told me "they are working on it"..... still no schedule.

Seems like a scam. Was denied coverage on an AC unit, claiming it was normal wear and tear. Electrical issue caused the compressor to short out, arcing to a coolant line, and melting our disconnect. Far from "normal", and this company was happy to leave it in this dangerous state, despite the technician (which they sent out) saying that it needed to be fixed asap. Now our "case manager" won't answer the phone nor return calls...for the past 6 weeks. I think this company is likely some kind of scam. If you're looking for a warranty, look elsewhere.

Do not use Choice! They have A LOT of exclusions! When we purchased the policy we were told our geothermal unit was covered. WRONG! Thank God I found out before we needed it. Our washer broke and they denied the claim due to “exclusions” so I started reviewing the exclusions closely. Low and behold geothermal unit is excluded. I called to cancel and they charged me a $50 admin fee even though they misinformed me about their service PLUS they charged a full month of coverage because they don’t pro-rate months. Bonus, you have to wait 10-15 business days for your refund.

Wish there was a zero rating. They will take your premium and then find any small excuse not to cover you. They advertised, "Hey, you, might need to replace your A/C system someday if it breaks," and mine did. Because there was condensation related to the A/C breakdown, they classified it as "water leak," so they wouldn't have to cover it. This is a scam, don't fall for it. You're better off saving what you would pay for the premium and investing in your own home protection account. The contractors I've had at the home under this warranty say the same.

This company lies. They tell you lies to get you to trust in them to be there when things break. They say they will be there for you. We had bot our AC units break in one year due to leaks, and they refused both. They also wouldn't replace a thermostat. They are swindlers. Go pay for a better company that will actually be there for you when you need them.

I have a microwave and oven combo and the oven has some problem. Choice is offering me less than 30% of the current price of the unit to replace. In comparison, I had American Home Shield earlier and they replaced my furnace when there was a problem. I regret moving to Choice and having referred numerous friends and family to Choice. Really feel betrayed and bad for everyone. Be careful before you buy Choice warranty.

I signed a 3 year contract with Choice Home Warranty and not once have they covered anything submitted. The denied a water heater due to it not being maintained. They denied AC fix due to faulty wiring (done by a previous tech they sent out). They told me I would need to contact the vendor directly to work the issue out. I would research other companies, my recommendation is to pass on this Company.

They have been awful, dont want to fix or replace anything ... our ac went out had to pay 60.00 for them to come out and not able to fix anything.. its 96° in our house.. we have 3 dogs, 5 children, my husband and myself... plus my son and husband have asthma. They wont fix anything... save the trouble and get a real company.. American Home Shield.

This company is a scam. They tell you coverage is comprehensive, but if you read the fine print, nothing is covered. I purchased the warranty specifically for my AC, and specifically asked if the age of the system mattered because my system was old. When it went out due to normal wear and tear, it wasn’t covered because the system had rust on it. 2 separate AC contractors confirmed that the rust had no affect on the system going out, yet they still wouldn’t cover it. Save your money, I wouldn’t recommend Choice home warranty to anyone.

We started having a leak from a bathroom upstairs to a bathroom downstairs so we called CHW and filed a claim. Once the technician came out they reported the issues and cost and choice denied the claim and said it was a pre-existing issue. We have lived in this house for just over 3 years and never had leaking issues. They only want your money and don’t want to pay for anything you file a claim for if it will cost a good chunk of change. Definitely a huge waste of money.

Not worth getting it . It takes a while for them to find someone. One technician actually came and said that he can't do the job for $60 and left. A second one came and ended up causing more damage than good. Just today, a scheduled service technician I called, told me flat out that he's not coming at all. They were also supposed to reimburse me for a service call that I ended up paying fully - had to send the request 3x and that was 2 years ago and still $0. I'm not renewing because it's a waste of money.

Just the worst. I’ve had other warranty companies but no one as bad as these folks. I’m beginning to believe their policy is deny first, and hope you go away. My policy clearly states ductwork is covered but they denied because of rust and corrosion? In my attic are you kidding. I’ve sent photos were just shows an old duct/...No corrosion or rust..SCAM MY DUCTWORK IS 100% PLASTIC. Their case manager says I am lying even though I sent photos!!!!!!!!!

Our Hvac system went out on us. Two weeks later technician came out said we had we had big leak (freon). Also did a leak search ,found the leak. Said we needed a evaporator coil. Technician contacted warrenty company claim denied. Said it was pre existing condition. The equipment stop working two weeks ago and because of something out of your control your claim is denied. I think I'm wasting money here.
